- PatchFamily (2/5): Not recommending - We booked 3 rooms, a total of 6 adults with 4 children . One of the adult in our group was not allowed entry to breakfast because her child went in before her and was counted as one person. When we booked , the site said kids stay for free and breakfast included. When we checked in and paid for the extra bed , we were told and confirmed with the reception that we had enough bedding and breakfasts. It was embarassing that one of my guest was denied entry because her 3 years old child stepped inside before her. I paid for an extra breakfast at the end of my breakfast. Unfortunately, before we left for the day , the receptionist told us that we have not paid for breakfast. He said the staff who i talked to and gave the money in the morning was his assistant and he needed to clarify first. I could not wait for her to come back to the reception and i left for the day. So it looks like, all of the staff want us to pay to them personally. At the entrance to the breakfast, morning reception staff and late morning reception staff. What a nightmare , one charge to be charged three times. Not looking forward to tomorrow breakfast, i am sure the 9yo will get asked money three times again. Need to take video when handing payment to the staff.

The hotel is easy to spot as it is located in front of Bulatan Meru Sultan Azlan Shah, making it very easy to find and conveniently close to Meru Raya attractions, shops and eateries. The environment is safe, with plenty of space for children to move around, the staff are friendly and helpful, all amenities worked perfectly. One of the highlights was the food - the meals were delicious, with a good variety and great taste.

- Reshmi88 (2/5): Worst ever stay I had - I throughly had a bad experience here. This hotel is not cheap though I stayed for 1 night. The location is completely dead city yet the price is not that cheap so I aspect if the amenities were good but what disappoints me is this hotel is kinda Air Asia like anything u asked they’ll charge you for a simple towel or even 1 extra pillow. I clearly understand if they gonna charge if the room is asking multiple times or atleast more than 1 but charging for basic things for that room charges is seriously not tolerable. The staffs are super not FRIENDLY at all or I should put it the way they were there to browse their phone. When I reached to check in they have quiet 5-6 male staffs on the lobby but none bothered to even open the lobby door all were busy with their hp and I got to struggle push it with my body with my luggage. They even charged rm15 for my 5yo kid for breakfast, idk he much a 5yo would eat and even if the breakfast tasted or even if they have good choices I will not complain but we can get better breakfast out of the hotel surely for what they charge and served. I got really scammed with the good reviews but honestly speaking I dont know how does all those reviews coming from as I had such a bad experience from the beginning till check out. The bathroom has a foul urine smell (I believed due to poor sewage system). The corridors were so noisy even till 12am (which I assume their room doors are not having any noise cancellations built in). I had such a bad experience till I have a strong feel to check out at 11pm plus from that hotel and to check in elsewhere but only coz I travelled with my little one I doesn’t want to put them in hassles. Paid so much for not even an 1 rated star hotel for my opinion. The receptionist are good for nothing, not having any answers when I asked where can I get invoiced issued. I will never ever walk in to any of these branches (if any) or to the same hotel again even I dont have other rooms I will rather make my way to my hometown rather to stay here.

- Sharifah (8/5): Convenient Location. - Choose to stay at Casuarina because I wanted to be in a quieter area. Location is also convenient to my needs having to drive out to another town in a daily basis. I have stayed here several times. Room is a little worn out. Bathroom floor needs a good scrub on the grouts.
- ianw349 (6/5): Handy for the bus station - This hotel is clearly a conference/business hotel. We only stayed there as it was handy for the bus station. That’s all I would recommend it for there was no swimming pool or facilities apart from a small gym and half the equipment did not work or was broken the breakfast had a decent selection, but for local people, very little for western tastes however, as I said, it’s handy for one night for the bus station

- fadzilahh2017 (10/5): 4 star hotel in Ipoh - Stayed for one night at Casuarina @ Meru Raya. This is a 4-star hotel located on the outskirts of Ipoh, close to Mydin Supermarket and the Casuarina Convention Centre. Muslim eatery is nearby this hotel. The hotel has large parking space. The lobby area is also spacious with settee for guests. I have to wait for almost one hour to get room key and check in process was quite slow even though it was 3pm. Maybe on that time. I guess. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The hotel room was spacious and comfortable. TV was outdated with limited channel available. The breakfast buffet offered variety of choices and was delicious. Overall, I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. If I ever visit Ipoh again, I will definitely stay here. Thank you for the great hospitality.

- KOON FUNG (2/5): - The location was so isolated, it was located close to the bus station and a local mall. There were food stalls, some closed and the opened ones were all local food. The check in was quick. The room was okay at first. The bed and the night stands were less than a foot from the floor (too low). The TV was small and all except one channel were in local language. The room was not fixed the next day when we came back at night. When I called down to the front desk, she was dare to ask me "did I request to have the room fixed". That was an insult to me, and it was unacceptable. The drain in the shower was partially clogged the first night, and almost fully clogged the second night.

- DEVANAND (6/5): - We were given Rooms 311 and 312. Room 311 ...we checked in at 5pm but did not come back to occupy the room until 10:30pm. The aircon did not work and was given only an alternate 309, the aircon was also not functioning well even at 16 Centigrade. The bathroom lights were dingy and the cabinet lights could not be switched off as the cabinet doors could not be closed completely. I had to sleep facing the other way to avoid light shining into the eyes. I don't think they are managing the maintenance well. I would not recommend!..........Dr Devanand
- Yuanrong (10/5): - It is really clean and the windows are full height from the ground to the ceiling, so you get a complete view of the mountains. Darvin was very communicative and attentive to our needs. Was able to understand The circle ground in front of the hotel has a night carnival with car racing, bouncy, castles and ebikes to rent. There is a lot of food to try around, if you are willing to eat under a makeshift shelter tent. The natural view is terrific from the hotel, the natural areas within 5 km like the eco park should be visited.

The frontline (Aqilah) not attentive and is not suitable to work as frontline hotel staff. Duty manager (Mr darwin) is not able to solve the issue ie requesting for late check out up to 1 pm. We are a returning guest to the hotel at least once a mth.

- SyazanabilaM (10/5): A wonderful services - Usually I don’t write a review but today i would like to write a review because I received an excellent service at this hotel my family Check in on 17/9/2022 until 19/9/2022 we were greeted by one of the staff who is very helpful with our bags because im travelling with kids so it is so handful .. after check in we went to our room and the room is very clean .. the next morning I requested to make up room and to my surprise the room was completely spotless i can say team housekeeping done a good job thanks to Mr Shahrifol .. will definitely revisit this hotel for my next vacation..

I was not happy when all my other 4 colleagues have got upgraded rooms except for me. We all paid same amount and sent our names for booking under one letter. Parking was quite far and no short cut to get to hotel

Some excellent local food in the coffee shop. Only 2 negatives. Smoking in the next door room was irritating and food service delivery in the coffee shop was somewhat slow

- Verified traveler (2/5): Worse hotel should be a 2 star - Inconvenient and noisy location, rude staff, no breakfast buffet (at time of my stay), gym had no air conditioning, spa facility has been permanently closed. Worse hotel ever, don’t know how anyone could give this hotel a positive review.
- RuaidahI (8/5): Good Stay - Overall....good service despite the hotel being fully occupied during our stay which was the Eidil Fitri break. The buffet breakfast although not very much in selection was tasty. One could see the staff was doing their very best to service the patrons, even with the restaurant being full of people coming down for breakfast. Our room, which was the Deluxe was spacious and clean. No complaints there. Check-in and check-out were smooth and professional. Basically, a no frills hotel......however, I would not mind staying here again.

Hotel is owned by the State Government. Pros: - Value for money - Adequate room space - Modern amenities & fittings in the room - Package include drive thru movie for guests - Night vibes outside : Roundabout - Still considered new & well maintained -Staff are attentive - Lot of parking space but shared with the convention centre. Please note the parking space are open. Cons: - Location - not in central Ipoh where all the vibes - 10-15 mins drive to town or Ipoh Garden /Bercham / Tambun - No facilities - swimming pool The room package comes with breakfast which you have to pre-select from the choices available.

Rooms are very cleaned and the housekeeper lady was very handy. Only 1 thing that disturbing me is I saw the manager ( i think so.. - Nor Hezrina (8/5): Okay Experience. Can Be Improved. - Pro: Reception staff was good. We've been upgraded to Studio Suite with a nice dataran view. Cons: 1. The bathroom was a bit smelly (bau kepam). Luckily we brought our eucalyptus spray. 2. The corner for most of the furnitures (i.e. tables) are sharp. My 2 year-old daughter had hit her head several times. 3. Our request for extra blanket or towel was not entertained with a reason the hotel does not provide extras. Reason for us to request for extra blanket or towel is because our kid is cold at night. Never had problem with other hotels on this basic additional request before. 4. Would be much better if the hotel is equipped with a swimming pool.

- HCL (6/5): - Very badly designed property. Not suitable for hotel. As there are Insufficient parking in the day as the whole parking area was all occupied by the workers from the 2 office block. The car park is not guarded and dark at night with no covered and illuminated walkway. It’s dangerous to walk alone and During rain will have difficulties to access without getting wet. And since it’s a open car park, anybody can just drive in, so security is out of control.

- Verified traveler (10/5): Good hotel with one bad staff ruined my day - My room was upgraded to suite. Foods and services are very good except one receptionist on night shift that day. I ask for permission to call my husband since i left my room key with him while he was out to buy some goods for our baby. He droped me at lobby and forgot to give the room key. We actually came back from dinner outside.It was after midnight. She not even threw a single smile. I thought i can used the reception phone. But she let me used her mobile phone. Called was not picked up and i asked if can unlocked my room. I have a baby with me.Without even looking at me she shouted to the bell man asked to unlocked my room. The bell man that day was very nice and polite. Not like the receptionist. Not show courtasy at all. Please train her more about customer service. Others receptionist was very warm and polite.

- ChristineLee (6/5): - Location is easy access to Highway. Surrounding has mainly local Malay restaurants. About 15mins drive away from town. Room maintenance is lacking - bathroom door cannot close and room & corridor has a very strong perfume smell - as I am allergy.

The low bed takes a bit of getting use to but it was comfortable enough although I don’t understand the cocept as it was not a Japanese themed hotel. The food is average. The location is a bit out of the city centre but near the new bus terminal. For those looking to have an alcoholic beverage, note that the hotel does not serve alcohol. Was told that if you are having a function there, you can bring your own liquor or beer but you will need to supply your own glasses and server!
- Fitri (10/5): - I really like this hotel. The staff were really helpful and friendly. The room also very spacious and comfortable. Located near to MAPS, one of the attraction in Ipoh, only 5 minutes of driving. The variety of menu provided during breakfast are good and delicious.

- Andrea (8/5): Comfortable and good holiday break. - Its a good get away holiday hotel.out from being too close to the busy ipoh town. Loves the front 'bulatan' park ,a very nice weekend night family recreation. There are a good numbers of eateries and weekend night market nearby. Staff are friendly and helpful. My suggestion is to have a bit more different variety of food for breakfast buffet. Thanks.
- B (6/5): Just OK hotel, good location from highway - The front desk where you check-in is the first blunder. Staff doesn't even know who's standing in line to check-in. If you don't push your way through to get the staff's attention, then you might not make your turn to check-in. That's the situation when I was there. Then, they checked me into a room that was already occupied by other guests! It's a first for me in hotels in 30+ countries I've visited. However, that blunder has solved quickly. This hotel looks nice on booking sites but the guest service at the front desk was extremely lacking. In fact, the bellman and after hours front desk staff were way more professional than the staff during regular hours. Stay here if you want a hotel that's close to the highway. Else, take your money elsewhere.
