Good food with great service from the front of house team. Will choose Himley again whenever I am next in the area.

• Alexander (6/5): Nice accommodation - The accommodation was pleasant and well equipped. Unfortunately, the food was dreadful which was acknowledged by the very charming waitress who served me. Breakfast was good and a nice selection.
• Annette (8/5): - Stayed here for one night. The room was very dark because the decor is dark. I had to put all the lights on and wear my glasses as it was hard to see. It was a nice room with a good selection of tea and coffee facilities. There was a nice note with two miniature chocolates upon arrival in our room. Bathroom and shower was nice. I did notice some cobwebs in the corners of the ceiling and in the light outside the window there were quite a lot of very big cobwebs that had obviously been there a while. We stayed in room 21 so you had to walk outside to get to it and through an entrance hall. We didn’t notice till the following morning but we had been walking passed a spider hanging from the window inside and then on the way out we looked up and to my horror there were quite a few spiders on the ceiling as you walk downstairs. Surely this is a matter for housekeeping it shouldn’t be left like this. Also there were two extra pillows in the wardrobe so I got one out and then saw a dirty mark on it so I didn’t use that and the wardrobe had quite a bit of dust in the bottom. The room was nice but not the cleanest we have stayed in I’m afraid. Breakfast and dinner was lovely a nice choice of meals and you help yourself to tea and coffee for breakfast. There were cereals and pastries, yoghurt and there were some nice options on the main menu I had a full English which was very nice. All in all a lovely one night stay. Would definitely go for a meal but don’t think I would stay again.🕷️

• June (8/5): - From our experience room and other facilities we used were very clean! Staff were very helpful, polite and happy. Lovely gardens to sit in and relax on a couple of extremely hot evenings. Great breakfasts with good choices .Plus added benefit of good parking facilities.
• Sheryl (8/5): - The room looked exactly like the photos on the website so we got the lovely room we were hoping for. The bed was huge and very comfortable. Everything was very clean and well kept. We had a late lunch in the restaurant, which was delicious. Breakfast was also very good with a nice selection of pastries and hot meals. All in all, very lovely.

Everyone was very happy on the business trip. One only issue is the guest Wifi is quite weak from the upstairs rooms so had to come to the bar to do some work. Thank you Himley House for an amazing stay!!
• Priti (8/5): - Clean, comfortable. Unfortunately, our bedrooms opened onto the busy and mostly almost constantly noisy A road so was not great. Would have preferred a room at the back. Check in could have been more friendly. Did put us off dining in the restaurant. Would stay again but ask for a quieter room. Nice shower and tea tray.

• Keith (8/5): - People were very pleasant , although the evening staff don't really know much about what can be done in terms of moving people into different rooms. The room was fine king size, with a bit of room. I stayed with a group for a couple of days after and that room was in the eves , and claustrophobically small. Not helped by the fact that it was not possible o open the window and the fan provided merely circulated very warm air around the room . Breakfast was satisfactory. My advice is stay in the Kingsize room and avoid the hotel ifit is swelteringly hot

• Dave (4/5): - Rooms clean and good but dont book room 11 as 31 steps up steep stairs to get to the room. Really disappointed with the breakfast on our last day, served full English breakfast and really looking forward to it as previous days was great. Beans stone cold as was bacon pointed out to waitress who went away and came back with a pot of hot beans with the intention of pouring the hot beans on to the cold ones. Told her to take the breakfast away as really could not understand why the plate wasn't removed and a new breakfast provided. No apologizes just a shoulder shrug, later spoke to a manager who again no apology just sorry i wasnt around. No offer of a refund considering there breakfast is some £11 a head. Not a happy customer.!!!!!!
• Martyn (8/5): Nice stay - Lovely rooms, with ensuite but even with the heating off and the window open it was too hot to sleep. Would be great idea to have bottles of water in the room, possibly a small fridge. Breakfast is excellent and so was dinner

• Colin (8/5): Great hotel with lots of stairs! - My room was really good, but I didn't realise that there was no elevator in the building. This was fine for me as I was able to carry my suitcase up the stairs to the top level. However, my brother and his wife had major difficulties in walking up so many stairs. Fortunately, they were able to change their room for one on a lower level, which was much better for them. Maybe, in the hotel description, it should be noted that there are several flights of stairs in the main building and, if that is a problem for patrons, there should be somewhere to request a ground level room.

• Vicki (8/5): Mostly Great - Food, staff and room were great. All staff were pleasant and friendly and the meal I had was really good quality. The room was beautiful and a great size, separate seating area and huge bathroom with double shower. The noise behind my room however, was terrible, bottles and rubbish being emptied day and night (tried to sleep late afternoon following a long drive). The mattress needed upgrading too so sleep was very broken, which sadly took the edge off an otherwise great hotel/pub. Bottle for fresh milk is a great touch but could do with some UHT in the room too. After a bad nights sleep I just wanted a brew and showering and dressing to collect the milk wasn’t ideal… I ended up buying one elsewhere after I left.
• Debra (10/5): - Absolutely brilliant place to stay. Spent two nights here, had breakfasts and an evening meal and cannot fault anything. Initially given room 5 which was an amazing room, but sadly we asked to change as main doors beneath constantly banging when opened or closed was very noisy and annoying. Moved to another lovely room, though smaller (11), was lovely and quiet as traffic lessened. All staff were super, helpful, polite and very welcoming. We will be back.
• h (8/5): Good on surface - Hotel has been refurbished to give a boutique look. Room was not as clean as previous visits. Fecal traces in toilet and cobwebs in bathroom with crumbs on floor. Coffee tray was meanly stocked and coffee bags were not good. Bed was comfortable and decoratively it looked good.
• Verified traveler (8/5): Review of stay - After a slight delay as there seemed to be a shortage of staff at a busy time I was greeted and received with courtesy and offered an additional night as I requested. Staff were friendly and efficient. The shower was a challenge until I'd figured the controls out (the labelling is in tiny letters and difficult to read). I was surprised no air con in the bedroom but was able to adjust the temperature at the radiator.

• Kim (10/5): Family occasion stay - Everything about this hotel was wonderful. Really tastefully decorated rooms, the beds were comfy and bedding lovely. The staff were so friemdly and couldn't do enough to make our stay enjoyable. The restaurant served a wide range of products for all meals and snack times. We loved the breakfast xhoices, and favourite meals were sausage and mash, with halloumi fries as our favourite bar snack. Fantastic stay which was great value for money.

We were very happy with the comfortable bed, power shower, and little extra touches like chocolate on arrival. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Meals were excellent and good value. We would definitely stay again.

• Jason (8/5): Disappointed - I like Himley House. It’s been my go to in the area. They’ve spent a fortune on refurbishing the rooms but let themselves down this week with poor service in the restaurant. Staff appeared aloof. I was ignored by restaurant staff who all walked past and no one even acknowledged me as I waited. Slow service although they didn’t appear too busy. Starter arrived before my drink had arrived. Main course had been sitting under the heat lamps for a while judging by the temperature of my side salad and plate. No Wi-Fi from about 9pm until 8.30am which was a pain as I had work and phone reception was poor. Room was boiling and window had been screwed shut so unable to cool it down or let in fresh air. Window outlook would have been ok but builders had dumped a load of rubbish outside. Considering how much money has been spent it’s a little disappointing to be let down by poor customer service and irritating minor defects. I’m hoping this is just a temporary blip and normal service will be resumed.

Excellent, friendly reception quickly processed me and directed me to my room on the 1st floor. I’ve got tea and coffee, huge bed, big tv and a clean spacious bathroom with shower.

• Derek (10/5): - I have stayed at the Himley many times over the past 10 years. For a long time it has been in need of a refurb. Finally this has happened and the hotel has been transformed into a wonderful boutique hotel. The quality of the refurbished rooms is excellent. A lovely place to stay.
• Mary B (10/5): - Friendly and welcoming, staff dealt with queries effectively. The restaurant evening meal was delicious as well as the breakfast. I recommend the Farmer's breakfast. Room facilities and decor were great especially the coffee bags and the milk churn for fresh milk, which you could acquire at the bar. However, the bedroom was a bit stuffy so we had to keep the window open which for a light sleeper meant being woken early by traffic noise on the A449.

We did not eat in the restaurant but the food looked nice. The staff were very friendly the only down side was the prices of the drinks at the bar.

• Emma (10/5): Newly refurbished, decent stay. - Recently refurbished hotel, really lovely spacious room. The only downfalls were the room door lock didn’t work & it was noisy as you can constantly hear the main door below opening and closing. Also cold room, I turned the radiator on but didn’t come on. Check in/out staff were great, very friendly. I ate in the restaurant on the evening, service VERY slow. It took 30minutes before anyone took my food order. Food was delicious and waiters were friendly. (Apart from the ‘host’ lady in black, very stern faced, rude & too busy bossing staff about to take notice of customers attention) Overall good stay. Excellent value for money.

• martin (10/5): Single night business stay over - A single night and a hidden gem for food, the hotel is very quirky as it is an old building but the rooms are nice and clean. The evening meal menu was very plentiful and my meal was extremely well cooked and tasty, the full English brekkie was beautifully cooked too There is a lovely park about a quarter mile walk away

Some of staff do not respond when you enter the breakfast area there were four member sitting at a table and it waxs some time before one of them acknowledge us,this is not the experience we 2wish to have. I would rather pay a higher rate a d have better accomadation.
• Verified traveler (4/5): Dated - Very dated rooms, couldn’t find a wall with out a mark, stain or some sort of damage. Service slow with staff overworked. One socket in the room with very low voltage, struggled to charge my laptop to 50% over 8 hours.

We booked a superior room which was in need of refurbishment- dated bathroom and room needed decorating. Tea and coffee hadn’t been refilled just poor attention to detail. On the positive side carpark spaces were plentiful and breakfast was good. Staff were friendly and polite. Stayed as we were attending a wedding reception across the road and it was convenient but would not stay again unless the rooms were updated. The pub and restaurant were tastefully renovated but sadly not the letting rooms.

• Deborah (2/5): Avoid like the plague - This was a one night stay for convenience. Rooms were very basic but functional. There was a couple having loud sex in the room next door for about an hour on the morning prior to check out. It was so depraved and sick.

• IAN (2/5): Hotel is tired and in need of refurbishment - The hotel is looking very tired and in desperate need of refurbishment. I was initially given a room in an outbuilding on the car park - which I duly refused to take as I felt security and the standard of the room was not fit for purpose. The shower required a flight of steps to reach it and the room was not very clean or well presented . I was subsequently given a room at the front of the hotel with a four poster bed. Though this room was much better it still was not of a good enough standard. The staff were very helpful and it’s obviously not their fault but I would not stay at this hotel again.

• Chris (2/5): AVOID - This Hotel is in serious need of refurbishment and an update. The entrace door looked like it was about to fall off. The windows were rotten and mouldy, the ceiling had mould on it and the bathroom was a disgrace. Sink was cracked etc. I stay away for business on a regular basis and often in Greene King Pubs, but this one is the worst....I wont stay again.
• Jason (2/5): A definite miss - From the moment we arrived walking through the maze of the pub to find the front desk unmanned, we knew this place was not specialising as a hotel. The directions to the room could have been done with a guide in the darkness. The room was really underwhelming. A TV so high up at an angle that you have to lay on the uncomfortable beds. No heating, just a small portable fan heater. The lack of plug sockets that means you choose between warmth, boiling the kettle or charging/using your items. The bathroom just reeked of unclean. My wife is post transplant and staying here would have put her health at risk. So our stay of 30 minutes was mostly spent booking another hotel. Never have I ever not stayed somewhere I have paid and booked, dropped the keys straight back off and told the manager we were not staying because of the conditions. Didn't bat an eyelid, no apologies, nothing. Not even shock, like it was expected. Pub looked nice, definitely all the eggs lay in that basket.
• Paul (10/5): Lovely hotel in a good location - Spent a couple of nights at this very impressive hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was a double on the top floor with an en-suite. Very clean and peaceful. I would imagine the building was quite old as the floors were a bit uneven, no doubt due to some old and uneven timbers. There was a large area for parking and quite a nice small lake outside. The only issue although no fault of the hotel is the access to & from the hotel from what is a very busy A449 Stourbridge Road. Location is very good; not too far from Wolverhampton & Dudley.
• Margaret (10/5): Great hotel - The hotel room was basic but clean and comfortable . It was warm too. The breakfast was superb. The staff were brilliant and could not do enough to Be helpful. I will stay there again
• Eleanor (2/5): - Front of house is ok but my room in the annexe was grotty: not heated when I arrived in the afternoon with freezing temperatures outside, all radiators were off, the towel rail electrics looked unsafe and didn’t work, the walls in the hall were crumbling and window frames had rotted, so the bathroom window couldn’t close. Terrible.
• Verified traveler (6/5): Very poor Internet if any - Unfortunately no wifi for the 4 nights about 10%. Breakfast didnt start till 7 ordered first at 7 and got it about 20/25 minutes later contractors which are the bread and butter midweek need breakfast to start earlier really
• Robert (6/5): Himley house - When I booked I asked for accessibility room we were on the top floor and to shower I had to climb in the bath to shower
