Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (4/5): So so hotel - Mattress not comfortable
Counter staff not friendly
The hotel infrastructure is quite old
No hotel facilities
- Anya (10/5): - Will come back ae family suits.
- Cher Kwang (8/5): - Good location
- ivanng86 (2/5): Disrespectful Treatment of Songkran Guests at Aloha Hotel Hatyai - Updated Summary of Complaint – Aloha Hotel Hatyai (April 13, 2025)
During the Songkran Festival on April 13, 2025, Aloha Hotel Hatyai shut down celebrations prematurely at 9:30 PM, despite guests participating respectfully and offering to pay for water usage. When guests expressed disappointment and requested to continue the celebration in a considerate manner, the lady manager responded rudely and told guests they should stay at another hotel if they wanted to enjoy Songkran.
Her dismissive and arrogant attitude showed a clear lack of respect for Thai culture and hospitality. This incident created an uncomfortable atmosphere and left many feeling unwelcome during one of Thailand’s most meaningful festivals. It was a deeply disappointing experience, not representative of the warm and inclusive spirit Thailand is known for.
- Nur Afifah (10/5): - Very nice
- Ng (4/5): - Location is good.
The hotel facilities are bad.
1. No water heater for the first day, after complained for few times, managed to have water heater for my 2nd and 3rd day. The last day, again no water heater.
2. Wifi is super unstable and weak in connection.
3. Room is dirty, we change to another room but still it is dirty.
4. Noisy, we can hear people talking from the room next door.
- JuneAdmodisastro (2/5): Use to be a good hotel, but not anymore. - My husband & I have been staying in this hotel every time we visited Hatyai. Over 6 times already, I think. But the service is getting from bad to worst. They didn't fumigate the room. Ants crawling everywhere in the room and including crawling onto my laptop. When I told the receptionist about this, he smirked and said who ask you to bring food to the room? We were like, huh?? We traveled around Thailand and half of this planet but never had ants problems due to fruits and snacks in the room. Only in Aloha Hotel Hatyai.
The guy receptionist is cocky and not friendly at all. Ask him any questions the same answer you will get. No, Cannot, I don't know. He should not work as a front liner if he is not willing to deal with humans and the public.
Even with broken rails in the toilet (picture attached), we can still tolerate the poor upkeeping but now, we no longer can tolerate this behavior and poor service anymore. Not going to stay in this hotel in the future. Plenty of other good hotels with good service in Hatyai that we can book and stay
- Kevin (10/5): - Very good overnight stay
Kindly upgraded by very pleasant staff
Had a big tv/sitting room
Would recommend as an alternative to train station hotel 5 mins walk
- Quek (10/5): - Centrally located clean. Price is also very reasonable. Was also given a upgrade.
- D (10/5): - Overall our stay at Aloha hotel is pleasent. Really appreciate that they accept to proceed for check in when we arrive at hotel around 10.00AM. The cons maybe can do some maintenance on their window. When there is a wind blow, there is a loud thud.
Will stay there for my next trip to hatyai!
- Verified traveler (4/5): OLD HOTEL - A very old hotel and the light is very dark in room.
Not really clean, have ants anywhere.
Never come again 😔
- SiEJRhino (10/5): Value for money hotel - Near Lee Garden Plaza, Kim Yong Market. The staff are friendly and accomodating. Though some cleaners are noisy while we were sleeping.
Near to Robinsons Mall, some money changers and an array of eateries. This hotel was recommended to us, and we had already recommended this to our friends going to Hat Yai as well.
- Lee (8/5): - The hotel service was good and the staff were friendly. Overall the hotel room is clean and comfort.
- Compass768225 (8/5): Value for Money; Strategic location - The best selling points for this hotel is its strategic location - 300m from train station, great street food nearby, markets within walking distance and my wife smitten with the Zebra wholesaler just behind the hotel.
Clean & comfortable rooms, offering basic amenities.
Worth a second visit.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Convenient
- Scott6848 (8/5): Very good value - Close to city centre, clean room, very nice bed, & bathroom good clean, bit small but me being on my own ideal, was there twice one night each, no noise, no problems. Has a car park but not needed, reception friendly.
Very good value
- gorockeez (8/5): Aloha a good place to stay - Aloha is not a bad place to stay in Hat Yai. The staff is very nice and very accommodating. I was expecting a really great, modern, and trendy looking room because of the appearance of the lobby. The room was clean and spacious, but not what I expected. The room was a let down. The room is nice but like I said not what I expected. The bed was comfortable and plenty of space. There was no safe or safety box, which I thought was a little strange. The location of the hotel is great, lots of street food and markets all within walking distance. I recommend staying at Aloha, and I probably will stay here again.
- Zoomy (8/5): - We can hear people talking in the next room. Great if they could soundproof all rooms. No toothbrush and toothpaste in the toilet.
- Paul (10/5): - Hotel close to train station, restaurants and markets.
Staff friendly and helpful.
- Kwok (2/5): - We had a very bad experience in this hotel.
First night with the aircon engine sound right outside our rooms that we are unable to sleep. After numerous complaints, then the hotel staff offered to change our rooms to a different floor.
After changing to another floor, one of the room has bed bugs in the bed and rooms was dirty. Stain in the toilet and insect on the wall.
I will not return to this hotel for future stay.
- jkuhen18 (8/5): A Strategic Hotel - I spent two nights here and the room was very clean especially the bathroom. Bed was very comfortable. They also obliged to my request for additional pillow. This was a very strategic location as everything was very closeby. Most of the popular eateries was within the walking distance as well as the central mall walk. Hat Yai train station was within 200m of walking distance. We hardly required a tuk tuk.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Check-in n check out was fast n efficient. During check-in, Requested for 2 extra pillows n were surprised the extra pillows were already in the room. Service by front office staff were very good, concierge was helpful and janitor was helpful and polite, will strongly recommend to my friends. Thank you and keep up the good work.
- PONG (8/5): toothbrush toothpaste - No toothbrush toothpaste available
- PatrickL (10/5): - Worth the value!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent service
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Néed to provide iron clothes!
- dzulhelmih (6/5): Adequate Hotel - Stay for 2 night in hat yai.A pleasant stay with welcoming thais during short stayed here
Short walked from Hatyai trai station.Short walked to Lee Garden Plaza for shopping street.
Basic ammneties in hotel such towel, bath gel etc.Large variety local and international tv channel
But i dont get any good sleep.A quit noisy hotel with a lot of aound around my room such as car exhaust, trolley and etc.Clean with smelly odour toilet.
- HENG (8/5): - Very clean and comfortable room.... very good location for those who travel to hatyai by train from padang besar. Just 5min walk distance from hatyai train station. Very near to those shopping areas, night markets and etc..... will make it as 1st option for the next trip.
- kyra (8/5): - excellent.... very strategic placement....
- Nurul (10/5): - Very noce hotel n walking distance to noght market
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very convenient..near to railway station..and shoppingg centers...
- Hazelnutmynut (6/5): Walking distance to Railway - Spend a night here....Upon arrival receptionist seem wanted to keep our passport as she told us need to register. Not very sure what kind of registration could it be, but, i don't feel comfortable to let them keep my passport. (I was curious as I made online booking &my details is all there) so I asked her for how long. She said she will return it to us in the afternoon. But, once i left my luggage in the room, I go and get my passport from them as I have not encounter hotel to keep any passport b4. The room is clean and looks fine for me. The receptionist insist on helping us bring the luggage up to my room.
- Zack (8/5): - Location near to town & convenience
- SoonTai (8/5): - Very nice hotel. Close to shopping district and very close to many eateries. Reception staffs are very friendly and helpful. Housekeeping staff is also friendly and cheerful. I will certainly come back to this hotel again and will also recommend this hotel to those visiting Hatyai.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - not so near the tourist spots
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Dekat dgn lee garden cuma jalan kaki je....nak ke asean market pun dekat bila naik tut tut
- PEI YOKE (8/5): Overall good. Only room wifi signal weak & slow - We allow to check in earlier by 1pm. During our check in, good bell boy sevice. Daily room services also not bad but they did not refill the tissue paper until we call to request. Good location, just 5 minutes walking distance to Lee Garden Plaza. The only con is the room wifi signal very weak & slow.
- Tan (10/5): - Good counter staff. Very sweet and friendly. We could communicate with English. Nice location.
- 731karenr (8/5): Holiday - Stayed here for nearly 10 nights in October. Clean comfortable hotel. Cleaned daily nothing too much trouble. Good budget hotel close to Lee Garden Plaza. We would stay here again if we came to Hat Yai.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Walking distance to market and Lee Garden. A lot of shops nearby for food and grocery
- mohd fauzi (6/5): - Ok only the wifi not fuctioning
- FoodieLittle (4/5): Aloha = Goodbye - Spend 4nights here, overall cons more than pro. Upon arrival receptionist seem wanted to keep our passport as she told us need to register(I was curious as I made online booking &my details is all there) so I asked how long, I will wait for it the then she says about 10min so I decided to wait as I have not encounter hotel to keep any passport b4. Surprisingly less than 2min she return my passport.🙄🙄
Cons-Centralized OLD air conditioner is damn cold though there is remote control but it seem to be centralized as the temperature set to 30c and fan speed at 1 is still so cold like 16c as the wind blow directly to the bed. Toilet need thorough cleaning up as there is stains on the tiles and the room floor was not mop for my continuous stay there and each corner is dusty obviously they did not use vacuum. So we bear with it and will definitely give a good review to bid goodbye. The hall way light to room is very dim and kinda creepy.
Pro- daily there is two water bottle provided, daily changing of bedsheet and towels.
- ibnibatutta (8/5): Nice Wooden Flooring - The room had clean, wooden flooring and the hotel is located in a quiet street. I was able to sleep comfortably. The staff were friendly. Maliam restaurant which is just around the corner, serves halal food.
- hasl2018 (6/5): Slow wifi - The room is OK. Reception staff also OK. Housekeeping very good and polite. Asked for extra pillow which received minutes later as they provide only 2 pillows. Location is near to shopping centre. Toilet is a bit small but clean. The only problem I had is the WiFi connection. It is very very terrible. Connected then disconnected. Very bad signal. Please upgrade the WiFi connection.
- Chin Tho (8/5): Short and convenient stay - a short stay around hatyai where the hotel is close to all amenities like lee garden plaza and train station. hotel is quite difficult to find as the parking and back entrance is facing the main road.
- benben_seow (6/5): A night stay in Hatyai - The location is good but the services need to be improved. The moment when I checked into my room, there were still left over food on the dressing area by the previous guest. And when I called them up to clean it, they just apologized and said their staff may have forgotten to throw away the trash. And lastly, the room only comes with 2 pillows. When call to request for additional pillows, they said there are no more pillows. Seriously!!! A hotel without extra pillows for the guests!!! I really can't accept this kind of way in running a hotel business. Moreover it's not even peak season.
- limt2017 (2/5): Cancel our booking without informing us - This is an unacceptable behavior for a hotel,
we would like to declare that we are ready to make payment through credit card however aloha hotel stated that they prefer cash. That is why we haven't make full payment.
And yet while we reached the hotel jus 3hr past the check in time, the hotel manager already cancelled our booking without any form of notice, not even email. Giving the reason that we did not pay the full payment where this is due to their hotel policy.
Pls take note for future traveller booking this hotel.
- Lala (10/5): - Nice & location near to lee garden & hatyai junction.
- abduljalilh2015 (8/5): Great Value Hotel - This Hotel worth staying, Location nearby Train Station 200 meters. Robinsons Mall 100 meters. Kim Yong Market 10 min walk & Lee Garden (Night marker) 8 min from Hotel. Arrived very early around 9.00am, reception counter let us check in with no additional charge. Room spacious for the rate.
No regret staying this Hotel .
Highly recommended to others.
- Tai Heung (2/5): Serious THEFT problem - We booked three rooms and stayed in this hotel July 26 to July 29,2018. It was a terrible experience having stayed in this hotel. Two of our rooms were found missing cash money taken out from our bags. CCTV camera showed no break in. We suspect it was inside crime by hotel staff. We reported to Police for investigation.
- 761chinp (10/5): Clean & Big room - Aloha Hotel located at the heart of Hatyai City centre which away from the noisy. It's just 5 minutes walk to the Lee Garden walking street & Kim Yong Market. They free upgrade my room to Deluxe twin room. Me and my family was happy and satisfied for our 3d2n stay here. I'd like to recommend this hotel to whom looking for a silence place to stay in Hatyai.
- peterwu16 (8/5): Not bad value for money - Nice location near to all shopping, foods malls... Robinson a must, Lee garden 5min walk, would come back for the hotel is comfortable on a short stay. A bit run down but room are clean and cable TV was great
- averroesc (6/5): decent hotel - very near to Robinsons Mall. It is quite near to Central Mall and Lee Garden Plaza. These two malls are quite popular. Room is alright. Televisyen channels a lot. There are many hotels nearby, too. Hotels for backpackers more around this area.
- XavierLSY (8/5): Nice Location - This hotel located just nearby train station. You do need to bring adapter here as they do provide if you request. Good to stay here and price is quite affordable. Don't smoke here or you will be charged 2000 Thai baht.
- Brian (10/5): - Nice clean room, restaurant was okay but not great. Great place and near to all the best local pubs.
- Louis (10/5): - Nice and near town hotel will recommend to Friend and come back for next stay
- SOO HOE (10/5): Highly recommended! - Hotel very clean ,quite for rest ,location in town centre and food hunting all in walking distance.
- Calyn (8/5): Clean hotel - Clean hotel with a super large bed. It's always my first choice whenever I go to Hatyai for vacation. Try the massage service if you have free time. It's very valuable if compare to outside.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Walking distance to city centre - Everything ok, except no tea/coffee bags and toothbrush/comb provided.
- Kyle (6/5): Convenient location. Near town center - My 2nd time staying here. They tend to overbook. My friends who arrive after 2pm were told that they have to be roomed in their affiliate hotels much further away. This happened both last year and this year. That is not honoring a customer's booking. I'll be hesitant to book this hotel again a I might end up in a hotel away from town center.
- Baz (6/5): Clean and tidy in the centre of town - Very central and a fair price for the hotel
It starting to age but every thing in the room was functioning ok
Can't complain
- O (6/5): - for your very OWN guidance i was indisposed due to a severe stomach-ailment, hence the hotel was more or less
a sick-ward for me.
hence no more no less.
- Alice (8/5): Nice hotel within walking distance - We stayed in this hotel for 3D2N and the experience was pleasant. Hotel staff was friendly, wifi speed was ok, room was clean and the location was strategic.
- Desmond (8/5): Great & Comfort hotel - Great and good to stay in this comfort hotel , will recommended to friend
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Return customer :) . Good location . Staff can speak english
- Verified traveler (8/5): Abit far to central plaza & 7-11 - Room size ok.
Staff very nice.
Overall ok
Amenities ok
Clean & new
- Verified traveler (6/5): Satisfy - Near hatyai center, surrounding got a lot of shop and Street food
- PUI YEE (8/5): - Location Good. Clean & Spacious. Great value.
- Peter (4/5): Try Do Better Please - Staff want to keep passport & not explain why. Please Photocopy & request security deposit. Tap in Bathroom Broken. Please staff to checklist when cleaning. American Breakfast very small. Please try bigger serving. Location is very good. Room nice & quiet.
- Choon Joo (8/5): Good stay... - Everything just fine for normal stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel located close to the major shopping mal - Nice hotel located at the city centre, walking distance to the major shopping centres, e.g. Robinson, Lee Garden Plaza and Odeon. Furthermore, it was only 15 mins ride by Duk Duk to the famous "Asian Night Market". The room was very clean, but found that the mattress was a bit hard and the air conditioner was strong enough. Hotel staff was great, very helpful and knowledgeable. I will stay in this hotel again for my next visit to Hatyai.
- pat (8/5): Close to amenities. Everything within walking dist - Close to amenities. Everything within walking distance.
- Stephen (8/5): Good, basic hotel - Convenient for shopping/restaurants. Very close to train station. We had room on top floor - clean, good room.
Wifi didn't work in the room (we were at end of corridor). Had to go into corridor nearer to centre to get any reception. Wifi in lobby was good.
Simple basic hotel - no complaints.
We didn't have breakfast, so can't comment on restaurant/food at hotel.
Free shuttle to Central Festival shopping mall never came when we waited for it - so we ended up walking nearby shopping mall instead - and it had all we wanted!
- Koid (8/5): Overall was good - Overall the hotel was clean , bell boy was friendly and it was closed to city center . Lee garden place , odean , centra was just few meter away ~~ but the lady receptionist wasn't smile and not friendly ~ Wanted to clarify with her something but she doesn't looks friendly at all .
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good - Overall ok as not the first time stay at these hotel.
- Verified traveler (6/5): 1 st time experience at Aloha. - stay is fine, counter service is friendly. The room shower is poor as it took 15 mins wait time for hot water to come out. The complimentary water bottles should have a label that say so to differentiate from the chargeable ones in the fridge. The restaurant breakfast was below average.
- Elaine (10/5): Great hotel and great location - Wonderful hotel in the middle of Hat Yai. Very close to train station and to bus companies, so that was perfect for us. The room and bathroom were spacious and clean. We also thought there were many TV channels which was great for non-Thai speakers. The only complain we have is that the staff did not alert us to the shuttle to Central Festival when we checked in. We only found out when we were checking out.
- KAH HOE (6/5): - Convenient to surrounding area.
- Tong HEE Stephen (8/5): A Pleasant Experience - A pleasant experience. Good value considering the price.
- Verified traveler (4/5): No complimentry tea & coffee in hotel room - Overall ok only, but I think I will not book this hotel again.
To me, I dont like this hotel.
- prudence (6/5): Alright for one night stay. 2mins walk to railway - Room very basic but beautifully clean and the bathroom very well appointed. Good TV . The only disappointing factor was the lack of tea in the morning. Also no fresh milk. OK there were 2 sachets of coffee but these were accompanied the sugary Milo, not a very healthy way to start the day.
Staff were very friendly and helpful but we're not able to react to our request for milk.
- Najdi (8/5): Nice experience - Everything nice, great location, good food, friendly staff
- ROBERT (8/5): Safe location bars and restuarants a few bllocks - I enjoyed my stay at this hotel the price is higher but I think it was worth the extra money
- ROBERT (8/5): Clean, good service, reasonable price - I have stayed here before and always enjoy this hotel shops are close by and the entertainment is just round the corner.
Don't always settle for taxis at the front door there are cheaper ones round the corner.
- Mei Peng (4/5): - i stayed there for one night only, overall it's okay but it's not really near to Lee Garden, have to walk few buildings.then second night, i decide to change hotel and i can get cheaper price hotel more near to Lee Garden.
*do not massage at 4th floor of this Hotel when someone ask u want to massage in the Hotel or not, it's really terrible experience for us.
the most terrible massage i ever had in my life.
- Lee (10/5): Very comfortable hotel right in central of Hat Yai - We are warmly welcome by the Hotel Bellboy at the entrance right to the Reception counter. Since it as Sunday, not many guests checking in, so rather a bit quiet. The bellboy is nice to give us some tips on places of interests from the view our 11th floor room.
The room is very clean, simple and comfy. A request for extra pillow and missing towels was promptly attended in no time. We did not patronize the hotel restaurant as we wanted to try out local/roadside food.
The hotel is right in the central of Hat Yai, walking distance (minutes) to markets, shopping centers such as Lee garden Plaza, Robinson, Central & Odeon. Shops & eateries are all nearby. No need for tuk-tuk at all. Try all local delicacies at the markets.
Next to Lee Plaza Garden, there's a 7-11 convenience store, a very old lady (almost blind) sitting right at the entrance selling handmade doll keychains for THB100 for 3 or 4 pcs. We bought some and wish people would buy from her as well. Overall, tourist had been contributing to shop businesses, tuk-tuks etc but remember to contribute to the less fortunate business like this old lady.
In the other hand, 7-11 convenience store is impressive with varieties of goods.
We took a tuk-tuk to Central Festive Mall & Floating Market. Floating market basically selling snack food, though nothing impressive while Central Festive a little upscale and most brands can be find in malaysia.
- CHIAN WEN (8/5): - Great location and cleanliness. But with poor sound proof.
- manoon (8/5): Clean and quiet. - Clean and quiet. Helpful hotel staff. Excellent location - city center.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Convenient, Comfortable but Affordable Hotel - Everything was fine - no complaint. Hussle-free check-in, Convenient location, Front line staff could be more friendly, Concierge too quick to recommend activities.
- Hoo (8/5): Nice, clean & convenient in terms of location - Friendly staff, fast check in, room & facilities in good condition.
- Tan (8/5): Good place to stay - Good hotel, clean and near night market.
- TUNG (8/5): clean and comfort hotel - This hotel I stay before.I love the location, near market, shooping centre & foods nearby.Room is big with LED tv.I wii come back if I am in Hat Yai.
- Verified traveler (6/5): We enjoy our stay. - Good place..nice view..just a walking distance from hatyai railway station.
