Guest Reviews
- CHRISTY (10/5): - Nothing fancy, but for a budget motel, it was quite good. We stayed there once several years ago, and I think it’s in better condition now. Brighter lights, very clean and well kept. If you just need a place to sleep while enjoying Stratford, this isn’t a bad choice.
- PETER (10/5): - Clean and friendly
- John (6/5): - Dated
- talia (2/5): - We showed up to a busted dirty room with stains on the sheets- hair in the bed un cleaned bathroom floor, and a room that smelt like a smoking room covered by the smell of cleaning products. I stayed in room 25, we booked based on the other good reviews but that was not the experience we had. When we brought this to the attention of the owners they proceeded to call us liars - there are many reasonable motels in Stratford this is not one of them
- Jennifer (10/5): - Quiet, clean, spacious. Perfect for an overnight stay near the venue where we were attending a party.
- Jane (6/5): - A basic, clean with a/c, comfortable motel room with refrigerator and microwave too. Definitely did the trick for a decent one night stay, at the price we paid.
- Robert (10/5): - room extremely clean, quiet, room was furnished and cinfoiertable.
- John Paul (10/5): Ticked all the boxes - Very good value. Simple, clean accommodation.
- Brendon (10/5): - Great bang for your buck. The rooms were a decent size, beds were comfortable, quiet and it was clean and fully equipped with towels, toiletries etc.
- jody (6/5): - It is obviously a dated properly. Staff were great and keep it very clean.
Rooms have that musty older smell when you show up. 2 of 3 lights didnt work. Maybe some pinesol and get the lights working. No big complaints. Was good for a nights sleep
- Anita (10/5): - Very clean and quiet. The beds were comfy, but the pillows were too big (I like mine flatter).
- Brian (10/5): - The motel was fairly far from downtown, but the price was good, so I didn't mind the walk.
The room was back from the street, so there was no noise around. The room was modern and clean, and bath and shower facilities were quite new. Mattress and pillows firm, which I like.
- Atom (10/5): - Very quiet and clean room
- George (8/5): - Good value for money accommodations; close to dining facilities...
- Brenda (8/5): - t
- Cathy (10/5): - This budget option gave my friend and I everything we needed: comfy beds in a clean, quiet room. If you're planning to spend most of your time at the theatre or other attractions and your hotel room is just a place to sleep, this is a great choice -- and one that leaves you with more money to spend on other things.
- Jane (8/5): - The facilities were comfortable and clean. The aircon worked fine but it was a bit loud, as the type always is. We turned it off at night and opened the window. All was great until another guest came home at 1am and sat outside talking until dawn, which woke us up of course. This should have been noticed by the hotel but it wasn't. This was disappointing and, we ended up having a terrible night's sleep.
- Khalid (8/5): - There was black flies and a few mosquitoes. I managed to eliminate most of them befor retiring for the night.
- Jason (10/5): - Owners and staff were accommodating and super friendly.
Place was quiet and clean. They were currently doing a bunch of uprages to the property, so it shooud be even nicer the next time we stay.
Would highly recommend!
- joy (8/5): - The place is good ,the owner is friendly just the bed are bit too high
- Jean (8/5): - Room was spacious and clean. The water supply to the sink needs work. The rest of the plumbing worked fine. Very quiet and well maintained grounds. Will likely use again when I travel to Stratford in the future.
- Adam (10/5): - Good value
- Ben (8/5): - We found the Motel to be good enough. Check-in was quick and easy. Friendly and easy going staff. Plenty of convenient parking, with easy access. Room was clean (not the newest of properties but maintained well enough). Washroom was clean and there were clean towels of different sizes and plenty of toilet paper. Basic bar soaps and lotions. (Again, not the newest of bathrooms but sufficiently maintained). Water pressure was excellent and no issues, with hot water. Room was specious, with two comfortable enough beds. The beds were clean and fresh. There were enough shelfs etc. for the clothes. Small area to hang your clothes, as well (although no coat hangers just few hooks). The A/C/Heater (although an older style) worked well. It was quiet enough for our liking. There was a small fridge, which had enough space for us, although we were disappointed it had no freezer. There was a small microwave on top of the small fridge (didn't use it, so no idea how it worked). Decent size TV but only basic channels (Not HD) and no DVD player or pay-per view or netflix etc. We couldn't hook up Nintendo system either for my Son, as no INPUT option on the remote or TV to toggle between HDMIs. (Even though TV had 3 or 4 HDMI ports). No kettle or basic coffee machine (Reception did provide a Kettle upon request though:). Overall it was a pleasant enough stay. Nothing fancy but Basic Motel experience. Good enough, if you're not too demanding and curb your expectations.
- Heather (8/5): - For the price this motel is great. No frills, clean rooms.
- Ashley (8/5): - The staff was nice. When I told them the first room given to me was dirty, they provided me with a different room which was cleaner.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - I was trying to save costs and this filled the bill.
- Cisco (10/5): - The room was spacious, well lit, clean. The staff was helpful and friendly. Some coffee in the morning would be nice, perhaps a Keurig machine in the office to make coffee on demand, one cup at a time.
- Erin (10/5): - Affordable. Polite and efficient staff.
- Kean (8/5): - We got what we paid for.
- Michael (10/5): - The bed.mattress was really comfortable provided me a real good all night sleep. The room was nicely clean and had everything I hoped for,
Thanks so much to the staff and owners for my second over night stay,
I am looking forward a third visit
Mike
- Michael (10/5): - Very clean and tidy. Everything I required was present. Room temperature was easy to control to a comfortable level. Staff were very pleasant. I made reservations to return on my return.trip!

- Lai Po (8/5): - The area is good. It is easy to downtown. If they look after heat to run smooth. It will be more perfect.
- Carol Anne (8/5): - I like that check in was 2 p.,m.; close to Tim Horton's and McDonald's; gas stations
- Barbara (6/5): - Floors were dusty. Walls could use some pictures. Furniture could use restraining.
- Katharine (10/5): - Staff very helpful. This is an older property, but the room was remodeled well.
- Wendy (6/5): - Missing the hot water handle in the shower, floors and baseboards were grimy, the TV mount was broken, curtains had a rip in them, ceiling paint is peeling in one corner. On the plus side, toilet and sink were clean, the beds were clean and comfortable, the TV and fridge worked. The grass outside had been freshly seeded and looked nice
- Dr. Sunita-Dolly (6/5): - Very messy around the property
- MEREDITH (8/5): - Clean, towels and bed were clean. TV was not accessible due to the remote control having batteries that were corroded and leaking battery acid. You must check these for all of your remotes, that is a hazard. Could use a refresh, white paint everywhere could help.
- rukhshana (8/5): - Property is old and could use a refresher.
Beds were very comfortable, good pressure in the shower.
Quiet and very centrally-located.
- Carter (4/5): - During the ride to the hotel, the cabbie warned me about tenants breaking into rooms. Sure enough when I woke up the next day a police car was parked outside and a tenant was being questioned. Won't be going back.
- Susan (4/5): - They don't speak English
No instruction for tv
- Francis (8/5): - liked - very clean, pleasant and friendly staff, exterior and grounds very appealing ie great "curb appeal". disliked - 2 big old fashioned "sleigh beds" took up most of space in the room, furniture needs updating but I would definitely recommend this motel for value for the cost
- Catherine (6/5): - The bed was comfortable, the room was quiet, including no road noise. It included a microwave and a fridge, but no coffee-maker. That was known to us from their website. Room service was available if requested.
- Helen (6/5): - It was somewhat dated, and the outdoor furniture needed cleaning. But the room itself was spotless. No coffee maker nor a kettle for boiling tea. Mini Fridge had no freezer section. When we had trouble turning on the air conditioner, help arrived promptly. The garden was well looked after. Two possibly homeless people hanging around— made me a bit nervous at first. But maybe because there is a meal dropin nearby for them.
- James (6/5): - Run down spot with few amenities
- Jessica (6/5): - misrepresent it's self as being close to the festival theatre when it is was half hour walk from.
- eugene (6/5): - Close to McDonalds and Tims.
- Peta (8/5): - Price and location very good
- Jeff (10/5): - Very friendly checkin
- Susan (10/5): - Very friendly little place off the beaten path,
- Claire (10/5): Perfectly Fine - It was perfectly fine for my needs. I stayed one night. Nice, clean place. Actually pretty yard right at my door.
- Patrick (8/5): - The motel was good, and I would stay there again.
- Elaine (8/5): - The property was nice and clean. The rooms were alittle outdated.
- Robert (8/5): Gets the job done - The room was adequate, bed was surprisingly comfortable. The door to the office was locked and service was slow. The office was empty for check out. The wifi was good.
- Khalid (6/5): - No
- Helen (10/5): Simple Comfort in non-smoking motel - very clean, simple, no frills place
Thankful for the no smoking/vaping signs in rooms and on the doors.
Did not figure out if people could smoke on their little patios outside their doors. I hope not. Not there long enough to find out. would have appreciated a coffee machine in the room. however , a Tim's and McDonald's was close by
- Jane (10/5): - Helpful and friendly at check in
- Gregory (4/5): - Located beside a chicken slaughter house….at least upgrading parking lot but no notice of construction
- Moises (10/5): - Good place
- Lynn (6/5): - The room was clean and bug free. Beds were OK. The bathroom was not very nice. The chrome on the fauchets were all corroded and tarnished, chips in the porcelain, counter top was not clean and stained with paint and water droppings. Sink drained very slowly. Bathtub was OK good water pressure. Towels were scratchy. Did not feel clean after leaving the bathroom. Staff was polite, could barely speak English. There were no other renters except for people that I think stay there year round. Felt like Bates Motel. Not sure if I would book there again, might just pay a little more to get a more modern room.
- Seppo (8/5): - It was clean, quiet and comfortable. The mini fridge as convenient. Parking was a little tight.
- Eric (8/5): - Staying in Stratford is quite expensive. The Rosecourt is not fancy but it was very clean and had great towels and bedding.
- Leanne (6/5): - Run by a nice family. Basic accommodations that were clean (for the most part) and close to theatre. If you are looking for anything fancy or any extras, you might be disappointed. Good for saving money.
- Murray (2/5): - Some people lived in a number of the rooms, portions of the roof needed shingling, a burned out unit not boarded up, needed an outdoor paint job, bathroom fixtures could be updated, not much evidence of monies being put back into the property.
- Joann (2/5): Disappointed - At check-in, reception seemed very surprised to see me. I was asked when I booked the room, it was almost as if they won't expecting us. As we entered the room, it smelt of cigarette smoke and a musty scent. The bathroom was clean. We waited about 10 minutes more but could not take the scent and asked to switch rooms. We were offered another room but was informed it was recently renovated. it smelt of paint and floor was newly completed but at least it was not smoky room. The bathroom however was not very appealing. Dirty sink, stained with paint or some sort of material, tiles were broken/cracked and dirty looking but at least the window could opened and it helped with the paint smell. We stayed at this hotel about 3 or 4 years ago and rooms were in better shape. We were not expecting luxury but a clean comfortable room. The reception staff was very friendly and was very willing to change rooms and meet our needs. The outside environment also were not kept well, it was not very appealing. Not what I remembered
- Verified traveler (2/5): - This property is being used as a homeless shelter. It is a homeless shelter. Drugs prostitution crime and violence. You should not be listing this for rent on your site.
- JohnBakker (6/5): - It was very clean
I didn't like the fact the neighbours we're very loud after 12pm
For what you got in the room it is not worth $100 a night.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Walking distance to two downtown theatres, plusr many choices for dinner and lunch.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - We needed 2 no smoking rooms. Although the sign on the door said No Smoking, the room we were shown reeked of smoke. There were cigarette burn marks all over the bathroom sink and several in other areas. The clerk tossed several other keys to me to check out rooms, but all were equally foul smelling. The management was totally uncooperative when we said we couldn’t stay for health reasons. The property is disgusting.
- John John (8/5): - It was ok for the price that I paid for.
- V (8/5): - Very nice owners and the room had plenty of space for my family.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Needs renovating as there were holes in wall, gouges in bathroom sink. Bed was comfortable.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - We returned from the theater our first night there (Friday) to find police vehicles blocking both driveway entrances I asked one of the policemen if my wife and I would be able to enter the property (hopefully with our car) and the response was "What do you think?" I did not know what to think of these law officers each holding what looked like automatic weapons. When I found the manager and asked what all that was about, she and later her husband did not seem to know other than to say someone filed a false report. We have nicknamed this motel "The Bates Motel" (if you don't know what that is, watch the Alfred Hitchcock movie from 1960 "Psycho." We will never stay here again. There are much nicer places in Stratford. I have also learned to call the facility directly to make reservations; had I done so, we might have gotten the motel I wanted.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great little place
Clean and friendly with super burger take out stand across the road
- Verified traveler (2/5): - This property was really substandard...from the owners whose command of English was poor to the unkempt Office to the horrible room, it was appalling. To make matters worse, when we arrived back at the motel at 11 pm after seeing a play, there were 3 police vehicles there. One blocked the driveway and we were told to stay away. We went for coffee down the block and had to wait for about an hour before we were allowed back to the motel. Police advised us that this motel is unsafe as it is home to a variety of undesirable people and we were advised to collect our things and find other accommodations! I have booked hotel stays with Expedia for years and have never been disappointed. This was an extreme exception.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - It was the first motel in Stratford, built in the 50’s.....and it hasn’t changed (on the outside) the rooms were nice.
I got an instant headache when i went in the room with the smell of the bug spray used in the room.
The parking lot was difficult to negotiate. There was ample spots available but there was a large portion ripped up, under repair and this limited the turning space in and out of the spots.
At one point we my 10yo daughter was confronted by a drunkard, hanging out around the building. And later on we were questioned by a fellow who seemed interested in what was in our car.
Creepsville!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very well managed and maintained. Would recommend. It's nice to see a family take such good care of their motel and guests.
- FrantieAnn (8/5): - Everything was as we expected. This time it was much quieter.
- Kathy (10/5): 2nd times a charm! 😁 - This is the 2nd time we have stayed here .This room was nice and big , and very clean! Wifi was good. Tv had lots of channels to choose from. Had microwave and fridge, no coffee maker tho. Owners are very nice. It was cold and snowing outside ,but the room was toasty warm! We would definitely come back here! 😀
- A. (8/5): - The che kin was good although it is better to deal with the hotel directly as you could get a better price if you know what i mean. The room was decent and had a fridge and microwave which was nice for beets and snacks! Cant have lots of people in the rooms per policy but rooms are cheap enough. Not bad at all. Its not the holiday inn or a big name but good enough.
- J (6/5): - We did not get a Kitchenette Room as indicated on our reservation. There was no coffee in the room. There was no heater in the bathroom. The HVAC system was very noisy. The fridge froze the food. The TV remote was hard to operate. In the end, we couldn't turn the TV off.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The property looked rundown and scummy, two police cars with officers knocking on hotel doors, looking for someone. Tried to get our money back since we didn’t check in, but manager wouldn’t do it.
- hongmei (10/5): - it is very good experience staying in Rosecourt. the manager is nice and location is very convenience.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Liked the outdoor setting. Location close to restaurants and downtown.
- John (2/5): - Room was booked for my son's baseball tournament through Expedia. We were eliminated early so we didn't need a room but coaches from another team did because there were no vacancies in town. I gave them my information and they went to the front desk to change the reservation. Staff told them all I had to do was cancel the reservation with Expedia and they gave my room to the other coach who paid for it himself. I cancelled but later found a charge on my credit card for the room. Expedia advised me that the owner told them that I did not show and he could not rent my room so I was charged. I spoke to the owner who advised me of the same story which was a lie.
I explained everything to Expedia and they refunded me. They were great but the owner of the motel was paid twice for the one night room rental. Very dishonest.
- Lana (6/5): - Did not like: Small bugs in room, broken down sink and vanity. Tub filled up with water around our ankles when showering. Had to get owner to unclogg with plunger. Shower curtain very thin and dirty with long hairs.
Liked: Towels very clean and fluffy. Large beautiful beds, clean sheets. Small kitchenette. Parking right outside rooms. Friendly owners and value for money paid.
