• EdR815 (8/5): Cheap, Central, Basic - I got a room for $65 which meant I had to share a bathroom, which for one night was hardly an issue. Comfortable bed, tv, wifi, tea/coffee. Super handy location. Couldn't do much about the rude people next door who decided 6am on Sunday was a good time to make a racket .. Would happily stay again.

• Verified traveler (6/5): - Staff made me and wife upgrade to a larger room (and pay extra) because we had a baby with us and the sound proofing in the regular rooms was not sufficient; however we could still hear the rooms next to us as clear as day; so it was pretty much a bogus excuse to get more money out of us. The shower had almost no pressure and was pretty unsatisfying; almost down to a trickle, and the double bed was two single beds that were a little uneven. Otherwise it was okay for a motel.

• jessicajw5 (8/5): Cheap place to stay. - Cheap accomodation. We stayed in the older building. It was a basic room, sharing bathrooms with the rooms around us. Although there was no one else staying in this part when we were. Bathrooms were clean and staff were nice and assisted us when we needed it. The only negative I could say about this place is the duvet and pillow covers didn’t seem clean as it looked like there were dried up blood on them. I would recommend this place for a short time stay and if you weren’t going to spend majority of your day there. Price was $65 for one night. (This is referring to the old part of the motels)

• LisaH8299 (2/5): Terrible - The room was outdated and stunk.Room had not been clean in some time,bathroom was mouldy on ceiling,tiles,and shower curtain was half stained with mould.Toilet wouldnt refill without banging on the side of it.Bed has mould up the side of it and when i pulled this out there was months worth of dust,papers and toilet rolls under it. food was down wall in to rubbish bin and wee milks were old looking and in a lump. I went to office and was told no other room was avaliable and my husband had pre paid.Staff memebr did say sorry and changed bedding and took shower curtain away,after asking for a vacum cleaner i vacumed the floor and under beds.I wiped down walls and table which was covered in sticky cup marks... staff meber was friendly and bed was comfortable... but can not reccomend this place.Will take time next time to read all reviews on here before booking another place.

• KaePee (2/5): NEVER AGAIN!!!!!! - Quite possibly the worst accommodation I've ever stayed in. I should have taken the pod at the Jucy. Firstly I had trouble opening the door as there was a chair stuck in front of it on the inside. Then there was a tea bag and an open mint packet on the settee/bed, the chairs were all ripped, the table was badly damaged, the room was simply filthy! The "oven" had fat from the last user in it. The cutlery and dishes were not clean. All but one of the lights above the beds had lost the switches so could not be used. There was hair on the floor in the bathroom, and the bathroom cupboard was taped up with packing tape. There was a spit king bed in the room, for which the linen was quite attractive, and it certainly seemed clean. HOWEVER, I have no idea what had been done to the bed when it was joined together, but I ended up rolling into the middle of the bed despite the fact that I was on my own!!! I was there for three nights, but the room was not serviced the first day, the bed had been made on the day, but they left the room unlocked, so it was just as well I had taken my computer and belongings with me. The internet connection was through Zenbu with a 5GB limit. That would have been great, if I could get it to stay connected for any length of time. It would not connect at all on the first night, but I could get it connected on the second and third nights, but as soon as I opened an app on my phone or computer, it would disconnect after about 30 seconds to a minute at the outside. Ended up abandoning and paying for extra on my mobile connection. Grrrr! I should have seen the warning sign, when I first arrived and the lady in the office had no clues as to what she was doing. The EFTPOS machine wouldn't work and the office smelled like stale deepfry.

• Neil (2/5): Most discusting motel I have ever looked at - The room was disgustingly dirty with mould all over the curtains and throughout the bathroom. The vanity doors were celotaped shut because they were so rotten that they would have fallen off. The bed cloths looked like they had never been washed. The smoke alarm was continuously beeping. We couldn't stay as it was a health risk with the amount of mould.

Impossible to sleep. Never again! I hope they fix a bad drip of hot water in the hand basin as was reported. Convenient to local shops and great Irsh pub!

• K (4/5): Room for improvement - Hotel staff were lovely. Room looked nice but when making my Childs bed on the sofa pull out I was horrified at the amount of dirt and dust build up. I found a small bag of white powder in the kitchen - which I’m assuming was the last occupants left over drugs. The toaster oven/grill did not work and the bathroom was very mouldy which wasn’t great. I thought we were staying in nice apartments but they were on other side of driveway so we felt duped.

I booked and paid same price, and was put in old part, room dirty, rotting door in bathroom, shelf not useable, held by thin air, one child was on a wooden box with form on top, just well we had her sleeping bag, sheets had holes in them, towels were stained, painted over mould, lights not working, beds were so uncomfortable my 11 said she had a sore back in the morning! I complained, said your photos show the flash room, then was told to look again, and shown a photo of the sink/ kitchen off terrible room, asked can I pay more to stay where I thought I was booking as we ther for three nights, told no, as they booked out for the second night, but given a 20% off when I book again!!! HELL NO will not stay again!!! So flash units good! Old units WAY OVER PRICED, and not up to any standard at all if you asked what I think they were worth a night $5 pp maybe

• Asir (6/5): Decent motel for short stays - Stayed at this motel for 2 nights in Christchurch. It was a decent motel, relatively clean however the bathroom was a little dirty. The parking lot was very cramped. The kitchen was fully equipped and a sofabed was provided in addition to two large beds.

• jade (6/5): Cheap it was what it is - Low cost and fairly uncomfortable. Dead batteries in remote and no controls on the TV, WiFi very very slow and super long drop out periods, smallest toilet ever, shower had slow trickle and the head would not stay pointing away from the wall.
• FamilyA_12 (10/5): Excellent stay - We stayed in a new room on the second floor. It was clean and had everything we needed. The hosts were helpful. The motel is close to a great group of shops with cafes, a bar, supermarket, petrol station. We thought the motel was good value for money.
• KiwitoUK (8/5): Great work with the Wifi - Stayed in one of the older rooms with a young family. Was spacious and tidy, and good value for money. Checking in as hassle free and was nice to have a separate room. The Wifi credit that they give you is very generous, multiple 2GB tokens, compared to most deals so we were able to get a few things done, without worrying about running out.

• 465sarab (6/5): Clean but noisy - We stayed in the new units. Clean but very noisy. Could hear the neighbour's shower and toilet flushing. Noise insulation non existant. Looks good for a one night motel unit but windows don't block out the noise of traffic on the main road. Disappointed.

• Peter (8/5): - I've previously stayed here and will again - the room was exceptionally quiet and comfortable with a good kitchen area. The only real negative is that the internet in the room is very patchy and kept dropping out - this was caused by the block materials used in the building which makes it so very quiet. Go outside and the internet roars away... Excellent restaurants and a supermarket within an easy walk.

I was able to check in at 2AM (check in is not normally available 24 hours) and was pleased to see the air con was left on as it was freezing outside. I also loved the fact I was given a room downstairs which made a difference as I had to carry two kids to bed at 2AM + luggage. Bed was a bit too soft.

Quiet clean rooms, small but has everything. 2 minute walk to supermarket, liquor store, pizza, B.P station. Close to town. We had a great stay and would definitely stay again.
• chivasregalrotweiler (10/5): stay in disabled unit 11 - wow fantastic people, I booked online, and when we arrived they offered us the disabled unit since my husband is on a power chair . very posh and modern , we even had a dishwasher in our unit. The shower is the very best we had so far in any motels we have stayed in including overseas, the pressure is amazing. Bathroom had a heated towel rail and heater in there, very big space. Beds are huge and so comfortable I didn't want to get out, no roll together. I was so worried with the bad reviews but we stayed in the new unit block and wow, I couldn't fault them. we will back as well and stay there from now on. SO HUGE THANK YOU.
• Deb (10/5): Value for money - Great customer service upon arrival. Room was very clean and spacious. Motel is very quiet and plenty of parking. The pictures on the website don't do it any justice as the room is much better in reality. Would definitely stay here again.
• Hanna (6/5): Good looking room, comfortable, but unsecure - When we showed up to check in the staff had left our room key outside in a little box with a note that said "Please take your key, you're in room 4", anyone could have walked by and taken our key and room. The room was clean and comfortable.

Cleanliness is great! Be aware if you paid for the cheapest price, your room will be located upstairs without a lift. For us it is not a problem, but for some this might not be very convenient so additional help from the staff might be required.

It is in a good location for staying at as you fly into Christchurch before setting off to explore this beautiful South Island. The staff were extremely helpful as we needed them to look after our suitcases for us whilst we met with friends - as we had already checked out ! Thank you.

Excellent location, nice and clean and the staff were very helpful - ie we needed an extra towel as my hair is very long and that was no problem at all. Kitchenette was handy and plenty of room. Very affordable too.

• chrisrC3877KL (10/5): Great motel - In the past 5 yrs if staying in Christchurch this is the best place by far stayed in the new wing king bed shower that's pressure is out of this world large room only downside room was close to the road little bit of road noise. Have already booked my next visit they couldn't have been more helpful . Free wifi that isn't slow it was a wonderful stay

• Petra (10/5): Easy place for a quick overnight stay. - As I would only be there from about 8pm till 3am, I decided to choose a simply room with minimum amenities (shared bathroom). It was comfortable, clean, and the staff were friendly. They also had the best water pressure in the shower - better than anywhere else I have stayed. For quick overnight accommodation, I would not hesitate to stay again.

• Arnar (6/5): Clean and very noisy. - Staying here for three nights in two different rooms. The staff is very friendly, rooms are satisfactory, bed is good. There is heavey trafic on the Sherbourne night and day. When the big trailers pass vibrations can be felt in the rooms reminding of minor earthquakes. The motel is about 45 min walk from the bus station. Ehwn checking in my credit card number was required. I find it unreasonable, since I already had paid in full and there is no minibar in the room.

• Verified traveler (8/5): Nice spacious room - Nice room. The room we got was a small apartment with a lounge, bedroom and kitchenette. It was all neat and clean. The building was aging but nicely renovated and maintained. We did have some issues with air circulation in the bedroom. This was partially resolved by keeping the bedroom door open and turning on the air conditioner in the lounge.
• Verified traveler (6/5): - close to public transport, city, shops, and food!!! Staff were very helpful. Unfortunately we got a front room close to the busy road and we were not used to it.
• Verified traveler (8/5): close to irish pub and local shops - We had a very late flight arrival, caught the shuttle to the motel and staff had left key and instructions to find room for us. Toilet/shower were just across the corridor. Room was comfortable and clean. Unfortunately we were on a main road, lot of trucks.......and we are light sleepers. Next time will ask to have a room towards the back of motel to avoid noise.
• Verified traveler (8/5): Nice looking unit - Was in chch for the night. Was upgraded to a new room, very happy with this. Service was great. And very pleased that imwas allowed to drop off bike bags for the day until checkin
