- Lucas (7/5): Vraiment bien juste quelque amélioration qui pourrai vous faire avoir un hôtel d’exellente qualité - Le personnel est accueillant. Les locaux sont propres et les chambres sont plutôt pas mal pour le prix L’insonorisation reste un peu le point faible même si c’est sur le port. On entend quand même beaucoup à l’extérieur et même se qui se passe dans les chambres d’à côté. Et la pression au niveau de la baignoire II y a intérêt de si prendre en avance pour que la baignoire soit plein mais sinon pour un hôtel de ville la prestation est top. C’est juste des choses à améliorer et non des reproches rédhibitoire.
- NEIL (8/5): Hotel De'Univers in Caen. - The Hotel De'Univers is in a great location in Caen City just opposite Caen harbour and 3 minutes from the castle & shops. There are good bars & restaurants very close by. Stefan, the hotel owner, was great & helpful & spoke perfect English. I paid a little extra for breakfast each day and got good value for that. The rooms are quite small but the bed is very comfortable and the rooms are clean and well maintained. I was able to park my motorbike right outside the hotel. There is a large car park opposite the hotel too. There is a large market on the harbour car park & street on Sundays that took me an hour to walk around....recommended to see. The front door has a key code, so you can come and go as you wish.

As the hotel is located next to lots of busy bars you will be kept up to 1-2am. It is a little but grubby and the whole building is a bit grubby.

- guy (7/5): Hôtel bien situé mais je pense qu’il ne vaut mieux pas dormir côté port. - L’hôtel est idéalement situé au coeur de la ville de Caen sur le port. La chambre était correcte. Même si l’hôtel est bien situé, au pied de l’immeuble il y’a des bars et sandwicheries qui sont très bruyantes la nuit jusqu’à 6h et ensuite le bruit de l’installation du marché le dimanche !

Ingresso e uscita dalla struttura tramite codici porta quindi molto comodo a qualsiasi orario. Stanza un po' piccola, il WC è separato dal resto del bagno. L'armadio è ad una sola anta (un po' poco per due persone...). Manca frigorifero e aria condizionata.

- Dave (7/5): Decent and well located - Booked this hotel in Caen for friends and myself as it was close to the Normandy landing beaches which we planned to visit over a few days. Clean and tidy but very basic. Also, there is no lift, only stairs to the upper floors. Reasonable bearkfast at an addiditional fee. Parking was simple as there is a large car park opposite. I would suggest setting up an Indigo Parking (parking management company) account in advance to make life easier as there are barriers on entry and exit. There are plenty of restaurants and bars nearby. Be aware that there is no lift at this property and those with any walking difficulty may have an issue accessing the rooms.

- Mirliton (8/5): Great location and an experience similar to staying with someone rather than a hotel - Staying at l'Hôtel de l'Univers made me think of what it would be like if you had a friend with a room in Caen in a great location and who let you stay there. You appreciate the location and are happy with the general cleanliness of the place, but there are a few quirks or overlooked areas, notably the lack of mattress covers (just sheets on a mattress), or the fact that if you're not out for the day by a certain time, no one will come to do housekeeping. But like a friend, the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. The room overall was comfortable and convenient, and the location was great, close to pretty much everything in the center of the city, as well as to a bus line that takes you directly to the Caen Memorial. And just outside on Sunday is the huge market that has great street food. If you aren't used to noise, this could be a very tricky place to stay. The location is great and the hotel itself is quiet but the street outside is very noisy at night and in the early morning, due to there being lots of bars and restaurants. If you come during hot weather, it would be even more difficult because you'll probably have to leave the window open, as the hotel isn't air conditioned. The beds also should ideally have a mattress cover over the mattress, not just a sheet, in my opinion. The toilet and bathroom (private in our room) should have better ventilation. The hotel is also a bit more like a B&B, with a front desk that closes at certain times and cleaning that only happens within a very small time slot in the morning. Overall though a nice place to stay, with an incredibly kind staff.
