• Gavin (4/5): Very poor hotel - The pub and restaurant are nice but the hotel is disgusting. It is dilapidated, dirty and needs complete renovation. Carpets are filthy, woodwork is peeling on doors and edgings and paintwork is tired and dirty. The only consolations were that the bed was reasonably comfortable and the shower is good. Other than that - avoid!

• Rita (4/5): Needs an upgrade - hotel and most of the staff!! - The whole place looks neglected and in need of a good clean and upgrade. Staff not welcoming at all with the exception of Michelle the waitress on the Thursday evening and the bubbly waitress who served us at breakfast on the Friday.
• Steve (2/5): - Run down, shabby, carpets are filthy, paint peeling off the walls. In fairness the bed was comfortable. I didn't take breakfast as I was worred about the cleanliness of the place. Chose to eat out at a different pub. It's a big place, with potential, but it's being run on a shorestring staff and needs some investment.
• Peter (4/5): - We stayed in rooms 9 and 10. Leaking roof in hallway with age related stain. Stained Carpers in room. Skirting boards hanging off. Heater in room just hung below window, Old with no remedial decoration around. Bad signage to internal areas. Food average with major problem on the Sunday when arriving back to have Sunday Roast at 17:30 told "No Meat Left" just some potatoes and Veg Left. At this time there were heated exchanges between other guests about the lackof food. Kitchen staff NO INTEREST IN CUSTOMER SERVICE. The only Member of Staff who SHONE during our 3 days stay was SOUKI. (Not sure about spelling) She was absolutely amazing in her efforts to help us. The General Manger was aware of the food issues and the fact that not enough was prepared for the Hotel Resident s and the Locals. Cannot recommend this Hotel at all.

• rachel (2/5): - Our family room was completely unfit for purpose with black mold on every inch of the walls in the bathroom, metal peeling off the shower rail, thick dust on the lamps/ bed, faulty electrical sockets and pest control traps under the bed. If I thought another room would’ve been better than i would have exchanged but looking into other reviews , this hotel really needs renovating with better management. We were lucky to get a refund after our stay and before we even mentioned which room we were staying in for our complaint, the manager had already said is it room 31. This makes it clear that they know the state of the rooms but still rent it out which is disgusting for families. I would not ever book this hotel.
• Peter (8/5): - We found all the staff we dealt with to be very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was very good. Room and beds were very good. The only thing that wasn't quite as good was the bathroom. Lovely new tiles but paintwork needed doing. Otherwise an enjoyable overnight stay.

• Wendell (4/5): Very disappointing - We have used this hotel on numerous occasions. The accomodation realy needs a refurbishment. The room we staying this time the carpet outside the toilet/shower was wet and the room smelt very musty. We informed reception and because they were fully booked they could not offer us an alternative. We had no choice but to stay as we could not afford to go to another hotel at short notice and there was no offer to put us up at another hotel. After this experience I will not be returning to this hotel

• Chelsey (8/5): Lovely location, could do with an update - Hotel was in a beautiful location and handy little tesco nearby, Positives - Staff cleaned room daily and made bed etc (not changed sheets but made bed and emptied bins) - Lovley location - Convient location and option of food etc on site - Large bed (2 singles together) - Powerful Shower Negatives - Bed was really not very comfortable and took a few nights to get used to it but was still very uncomfy - Counldnt control room temp and found nights to be quite moggy with poor airflow, had the window open the whole time but didnt help and room ended up full of bugs and spiders. - Bathroom very dated. - Wifi did not reach room so no wifi in bedroom.

• Dave (10/5): - Suki & her team were super-friendly, efficient and helpful. The room, although a little dated was very clean, extremely comfortable and very well serviced. All the food was superb and the huge, sumptuous breakfast was served with a smile to get your day off to a flying start. Great selection of drinks, with beautifully conditioned Cask Marque accredited real ales all with friendly, professional serving staff. Great central location to visit a number of great attractions, including the Weedon Bec Ordnance Museum, just a few hundred meters down the road, the Heart of the shires artisan shopping village and you can go to feed the lambs, calves & goats at Flore Farm just a mile away! Highly recommend this venue, but please note that the rooms are not modern, but need some TLC, however with giant hypnos premier inn beds/bedding, you'll get a perfect night's sleep! The less than luxury rooms are still clean and tidy and as far as value for money goes, it's well worth every penny. Can't wait to stay again with Suki & her amazing staff!
• Wendell (8/5): Great value - Good value for the price. Needs refurbishing but this is nade up by the great friendly and helpfull staff. Food in the pub is great food and value. Book early for a table to ensure you get one.
• AARON (2/5): Grim - I’m very mindful of providing negative reviews - however this is a dump. I stayed here more than 10 years ago when it was still a premier inn - virtually nothing has changed, it’s run down and dishevelled. Carpets lifting, panels hanging off baths, all manner of marks over the walls - rough all round.
• Verified traveler (4/5): An interrupted night’s sleep! - We stayed in one of the rooms above the pub. Room was clean, there was tea and coffee available but the TV did not work. The interior needs updating and there were cobwebs hanging from the low ceilings in the corridor. There was very loud noise behind the wall at around 3am interrupting our sleep. We were told by the person on duty that it was the beer chiller, so he switched it off for us to get back to sleep.

The breakfast was average I had veggie option and sausages felt like they were wrapped in plastic, husband had normal and he also felt his sausages were poor, Coffee option not good. The room we were in def needs updating, hole/dent in bathroom door, musky smell on first entering room. When flushing the toilet water pressure so great that even with lid/seat down the floor got wet also the seat, so I had to remember to wipe the seat dry every time. The Shower was extremely hard to get to correct temp, and because only shower curtain floor was far too wet after which could be a slip hazard. Main door closer was hanging off. The biscuits in the room were a nice touch.
• Mary (2/5): - The hotel was closed when I arrived later in the evening and I had to walk around in the dark car park to try to find reception which wasn’t clearly marked. It was closed too but I managed to find someone in the bar opposite and they told me the hotel had been closed because there was no hot water. Apparently tired let me a phone message but this hadn’t come through because I’d been out of signal area. They should have emailed me. I am a 75 years old lady who does not enjoy trying to find accommodation in my own in the dark. Why wasn’t there a phone number to ring? I am disgusted especially as I was tolls by the barcstaff that they had rung me 3 times and left messages as if it was my fault!!! There was only one message that came through and no other missed calls on my phone.
• Verified traveler (6/5): Accommodation needs a good refurb - The accommodation was sadly rather tired and the cleanliness left much to be desired. Although it was Halloween weekend there were far too many spiders and cobwebs to be acceptable. The cleaning was perfunctory. Bathroom waste bin was not emptied during whole stay of 4 nights. On a more positive note the bed was comfortable and the bedding clean. There was plenty of hot water. The restaurant staff were lovely and the breakfast/evening meals were good.

Sadly the room (room 51) although cleanish, was very run-down and in serious need of major refurbishment. Also window security stay was broken, toilet roll holder broken and horrible stale smell from the bathroom. You could also clearly hear the guests above walking, and using and flushing the wc. I don't know if all the rooms are like this but sadly I shall not be risking it

Ariived only to discover you had already taken money out of my account.leaving me overdrawn at bank for which i am now going to be charged for !!! Not good enough. I trusted the information i was given.what are you going to do about it
• Stephen (4/5): Unsatisfactory - Stayed for work for 2 consecutive weeks. 1st week the hotel room I was allocated, when i tried to entre the room, it was already occupied by someone who had broken in and was staying there so had to be given a second room. The second stay, the shower head was broken and flooded out the bathroom and on the final nights stay, i discovered the the door had not been looking throughout my stay.

• Chris (4/5): lacking investment" is epitomised here - The Staff are great, the welcome warm and helpful, just spot on. Sadly that's the end of the positives, the time honoured phrase "lacking investment" is epitomised here. The rooms the plumbing and the creaking floors ensure no sleep and a real struggle to shower. Sadly never again.

• Verified traveler (8/5): - Booked at the last minutes due to cancellation of booking at original hotel. Staff in all areas very helpful and friendly. Everything in the room was clean, tidy and comfortable. My only slightly negative comment would be on the decor, both inside and out. It was a little shabby, but this was offset by the beautiful view over the fields. I was told that this block of rooms were due for renovation work, so I could overlook the neglect. I also assumed that following on from Covid that these rooms had not been used in some while and had been bought back into use due to the closure of several local hotels belonging to big chains.

• janette (8/5): Thumbs up from me - While the hotel room could be updated, its reflected in the price, which makes it excellent value for money, and the staff are wonderful. There is a Chef and Brewer restaurant linked to it, and again, the staff are lovely. Great food. All in all, what more could you possibly want (other than ideally another plug socket). Will be back.

• Mark (8/5): Nice place to stay .... - Very nice place good food 👌 only problems i see is god on main rd its noisy as hell . Cars screaming up and down all night . I ignored it as much as poss . And god they need to clean the hotel hallways covered in spider's. My wife wouldnt stay there because of that dont bother me though . Apart from that nice staff very helpfull ... brill food bed comfortable. I would go back .... no problems.

• andrew (8/5): Perfectly acceptable - Absolutely nothing wrong with this place, it’s an old Premiere Inn and still has the old style rooms. Slightly dated yes but clean, comfy bed with spotless sheets. The pub next door is a Green King so you get good value food of reasonable quality and the breakfast was very good. And the rooms were £50 a night. No probs here.
• Patricia (8/5): - First impression was poor. The carpet in the entrance was worn and dirty. The entrance to bedroom block also shabby. However the room was adequate and comfortable enough for a one night stay. The service and food in the restaurant was very good. With more attention to detail and decor in reception and communal areas the whole experience could be so much better.

• Harry (8/5): Room for improvement, but great management. - It is fair to say that we had some issues with the stay. Some that the management could deal with and others caused by inconsiderate residents. I did raise the issues with management at the end of our stay and i am pleased to say that their response could not have been bettered. If in the area again i would call back.
