Guest Reviews
- Aisha (10/5): - For a small hotel the staff, facilities and rooms have so much to offer. It’s not a mainstream hotel so the rooms are very Caribbean and traditional style but it adds so much to your experience. The chef and staff are beautiful, me and partner wanted to invite the chef back to the uk, such incredible flavours come from the kitchen. Definitely had the best sleep ever, the Bequia suite is amazing! me and my partner will be coming back yearly to visit family in Saint Vincent and agreed we can’t wait to come back Bequia and revisit the hotel. Even our daughter tells everyone about it, such a great place for a family experience.
- Alan (8/5): - It had great positioning. Up in the hills. Unfortunately the showers were a little bit cool.
- La_Kaybee (10/5): I want to go to Bequia. - Our experience at Spring Hotel was very good. We were looking for a safe, mid-range location that allowed the opportunity to visit the local area.
From our initial interactions with Jason (property manager) to schedule and coordinate arrival, to our arrival on-island, to the staff (Natalia, Gabriel, Sofie, Akeelah, Jenique, Glen and Racquel) interactions throughout our stay, we have had NOT a complaint.
The property is perched up on a hill within the island’s terrain. The views were Awesome! The hotel provides a schedule for shuttle transport into the Princess Margaret beach area. We ordered drinks daily and they were ALways very tasty. We ordered food intermittently as we were trying to get a taste of the island from the locals. The food was goood well.
Our rooms were simple with nice touches (ac/tv/retractable clotheslines in the showers/iron + board, and hair dryers in each room.
We were a family group and rented the “Venue rooms” which offered a spectacular view. Each room had a balcony with a view. Water was hot.
We were here at the start of our vacation and it was Just what we needed.
BEQUIA! We Will be back.
- cherr456 (8/5): Beautiful Hotel, second visit, sadly some poor experiences - My second stay at The Spring Hotel, I was insistent on staying there following a perfect visit last year. It is a beautiful hotel with amazing views.
Unfortunately the experience was tainted by some of the restaurant/bar staff, they were so 'off', looked bored, were not welcoming when ordering drinks, didn't smile, leaned around on mobile phones so that we felt we were inconveniencing them to ask for a menu or a drink, didn't say please or thankyou, unapologetic when getting orders wrong or them taking long. It made us feel really uncomfortable on occasion, we could not believe they would choose to be in a service role when they clearly didn't enjoy it. I'm sad to say it stopped us using the bar in the evenings or eating in the restaurant after the first night experience.
In contrast we must call out Jason on reception and Sophie in the restaurant who were both great.
Jason assisted me extensively prior to arrival and was the warmest welcome ever when we arrived, along with the gentlemen that assisted with bags and cases.
Sophie was a ray of sunshine, so friendly, smiley, nothing was too much, chatty and when/if she forgot anything so apologetic and we didn't even mind because she was so nice. Thank you for her bringing the good vibes.
- Melanie (10/5): - Lovely stay in very pretty rooms.
- stewarth598 (10/5): American Breakfast at Spring hotel Bequia - We've had a few meals here which have been good (Roti, chicken wings, caesar salad) but this morning's (Christmas Day) American breakfast really topped it off. Sunny side up eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes with syrup. I won't need to eat now until this evening. Well done!
- lindarX5316AS (10/5): Quiet Hillside Retreat - We were two couples who throughly enjoyed our stay at Spring Hotel; we were nine nights in the Bequia Suite the other couple 4 in the Canouan Suite both overlooking the sea from the hillside. Beautifully appointed rooms are comfortable with good AC and amenities. Keep in mind the hotel is on a hillside and there may be steps up or down to the rooms and public areas.
The pool is beautiful and the included breakfast, although not varied at all, was good. There is a hot water machine in the room with teabags only.
Dining at the restaurant several times was convenient with most of the staff friendly. Wine options are pretty minimal.
I would stress the need for a rental car if you are there for a few days. The free shuttle they run to the harbor/downtown several times a day is very helpful but the freedom we had with a car was the best as the location is pretty remote. There is nothing in a realistic walking distance.
Would we stay here again? In a heartbeat!
- Cristina (10/5): Excellent staff - We intend to book this venue the next time we are in Bequai
- Melba (10/5): - I really liked this property because it is a hidden gen for a beautiful secluded getaway. It is quiet and up in the mountains with a remarkable view!!! The chef at the restaurant was so good we decided to have all our meals there even though we could have eaten elsewhere the second day. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend this location for a honeymoon couple.
- Neriette (10/5): - Thankyou shanique or shanik from tiny and breezy
- Karen (10/5): - We very much enjoyed our stay here. The staff, especially Glen, were very friendly and helpful.
- 960julesc (6/5): Spectacular views on a hilltop, that's it! - My stay at this property was far from meeting my expectations as it was listed as a five star on booking.com...my expectations was high, the property itself is located on a hillside and very remote...take note to those who are looking for a retreat type accommodation, hiking, quiet and peaceful, one with nature with beautiful views of the ocean in the distance and spectacular mountain views over the shoreline at sunrise and sunset...well this is for you
To each his own...but this definitely wasn't for me and wasn't as advertised on the booking site in their description of this hotel, thank goodness my stay was a short one and wouldn't survive a week here or in Bequia for that matter as there's nothing to really do on the island
I can see the cost of staying here much longer adding up as you need their scheduled shuttle to get you back and forth from port elizabeth...3 times a day run from hotel and last is at 6:45pm or pay a taxi at $40EC dollars, as I'm used to walking everywhere from my accommodations it was very frustrating to be on a schedule by looking at my watch, so I wouldn't miss the next shuttle while out and about
Also what I came to realized about this property are...they only serviced your room when you told them to or it wouldn't be tidied up...imagine being gone from your room all day, then to return by evening and see it as you left it in the morning...I keep a tidy room but would not have been pleased as it's standard at 99.9 percent of properties to have daily housekeeping without informing....and I only learn about this while at breakfast the next morning talking to a couple who haven't had theirs serviced for days while enquiring about a promised complimentary drink for unserviced room
The included breakfast was very nice and tasty other meal periods looked fairly quiet as not much happened on property and guests stays out, the whole property is shut down by 9pm, so nothing to do but go to bed...but the kicker is not even regular tv channels can be found on television unless you have a Netflix account or downloaded movies or apps on your phone
The room itself wasn't bad, but an uncomfortable bed with the AC unit blowing directly on you...taking it to a higher temp. doesn't help and if turned off can become quite warm doesn't make for a good night's sleep, bathroom was quite nice with a big shower...in summary an okay stay...just not for me.
- keneal (10/5): - Staff is amazing, property was very clean and I felt at home.
- 252cherelleg (2/5): Disrespectful Staff - The spring hotel is a beautiful hotel, with a beautiful scenery and calm environment. However, the staff is very disrespectful this is mainly directed to the kitchen staff. While staying at the hotel me and my family were treated badly by the kitchen crew. On Thursday morning when we went to eat breakfast the kitchen staff were being rude, while we were sat at our table we can hear the chef in the kitchen making comments like what “we don’t wanna hear her talk” and insinuating she was going to spit in our food. Me and my family were taken back by their behavior and the comments that were made because we were polite to the staff we greeted them every morning with a good morning and we always said thank you.
- rickycI2246TX (10/5): Quiet getaway - Beautiful stunning views over green slopes to the Atlantic. Very peaceful, just what we needed, with a shuttle service to the water.
The rooms were spotless and well equipped. Comfortable beds and AC to cool if needed. Kettle and tea provided and good fridge.
Our room had a balcony which took in the morning sun and had loungers. Also perfect for star gazing.
- awaovieyi (10/5): - Our first interaction with the driver was nice who picked us up from the ferry. The room looked just like the picture on the website. We stayed in the original hotel which has wonderful a ambiance. The staff were friendly, accommodating and helpful. The view is beautiful, the food from the restaurant was always on point. You can walk from the hotel into town and take the shuttle back at the set times or if up to more exercise you can walk back, it takes about 30minutes both ways. The amenities they advertise were a nice addition if you plan to stay there and not travel to town.We will book again and recommend to others. Thank you for a wonderful experience we were truly spoiled.
- TomL1911 (10/5): Excellent Hotel - I had a lovely week at The Spring Hotel in January. My room was immaculate and beautifully appointed with a rain water shower in a massive bathroom and balcony overlooking the Atlantic. Great sea breeze as you are in hills. Special mention to the (3?) lady chefs. The food was so good that I ate there every night - and I am very fussy! The red snapper and the tuna folks were exceptional. Staff were completely charming and even ordered in the French wine I loved and Jameson whisky specifically for me. Mind you I drank it! Special thanks to Melanie who is quite amazing in the hospitality business and also to the security man, Alwin who kept reminding me I had failed to lock my rental jeep! The price for both the room and bar and food bills are extremely reasonably. No where in Bequia is more than 15 minutes away - but you are in the hills and there is a very efficient shuttle service for free from the hotel. Having said that, on a holiday I don’t want to be tied down to pick up and drop off times. So if you are staying here, I would really recommend renting a jeep. Brontë at Gideon taxis and rentals provided a fabulous service; she even met me at Port Elizabeth and had all the paper work done in advance. I am going to book The Spring Hotel again for a week in April. Need I say more?!
- Susanna (10/5): - Very nice place; great food & friendly people!
- LisinaBrl (6/5): Ok if you want to save money - There are good and less good things.
First the receptionist is lovely, kind and knowledgeable. If you text them at the WhatsApp number also they are usually responsive and prepared to answer your questions / give you information. The hotel also has an affordable price and offer a free shuttle at certain times during the day. However it is to note that the restaurant experience is not the greatest, nor the free shuttle one, see below.
Shuttle: you have a free ride from/to the ferry, however that is true only if you arrive in a certain time interval. When I arrived with a ferry, the driver was not there, I had to activate international roaming to text the hotel and ask for it. When he arrived, the driver said he had the wrong time (note I had provided the hotel with the right time days before, I also reconfirmed my arrival time the same morning while I was boarding the ferry. Also, the driver is well aware of the ferry timetable, I suspect he forgot).
2 days later I had planned to take the 5 pm shuttle ride from the port bus stop to the hotel. I texted the hotel to ensure this was running and got a confirmation, they said it would have been there shortly. The shuttle didn’t arrive till 5.30 (note I had been there since 4.45 as the hotel recommended). When he arrived, the driver said he had to pickup guests coming later with the ferry, hence he came late to run just one ride (instead of 2 - please note it takes 7 minutes from the hotel to the port by car). We waited there another 10-15 min for the guests to arrive and didn’t leave the port until 5.40ish.
I appreciate the driver wanted to do just one ride, but wouldn’t have been fair then to let us know? There were several of us waiting at the bus stop. We could have been waiting in a nice bar on the beach instead of the crowded and trafficked port parking.
There are only 3 shuttle departures/day from the hotel, and 4 from the port. So if you plan to take an early tour or a dinner somewhere else than the hotel that is not feasible. Each ride is 45$EC, which is 17-20$US. So if you plan to go down to the beach for the day, come back to the hotel for a shower, and then go back down for dinner, that easily gets to 17-20 x 4 = 68-80$US a day, which doesn’t make this hotel cheap anymore.
The restaurant has limited food choice. I had the lobster tail and the lobster was chewy despite this being an island. The day after I ordered a drink to come with my dinner, the drink never came. That being said, the ladies at the restaurant were always nice to me.
For breakfast you have a complimentary continental breakfast included in the price, which includes a fruit platter or a juice, eggs, toast with jam and coffee or tea.
My fruit platter came with 2 tiniest water melon pieces and 1 slice of orange cut in 3 pieces. I get it that it’s included in the price hence they are trying to save money, but come on 1 slice of orange? I was confused.
One more thing to note if you plan to stay here - you won’t get your room cleaned unless you have breakfast, cause that’s when one of the ladies will ask you if you want to have your room cleaned. Since breakfast starts at 7.15am, if you plane to leave early for a tour make sure you let someone know the night before that you want to have your room cleaned, otherwise nobody will come. (Also something that would have been nice to know before. I am a clean person and kept my room tidy, but if you go with a big group / with babies makes sure you let them know).
- motorm2017 (8/5): Nice place but Bequia is too small for me 10 days would be enough - The hotel sits atop a very, very , very steep hill so the 3 times a day shuttle is useful. There are taxis aplenty to bring you back at a cost of $35 (East Carribean about £10).
The ladies who deal with the bar/hospitality are first rate.
It is a place with little divesion other than rum punch.
Whilst the food is ok the menu is limited and unchanging
Our room was excellent with a balcony and direct sea view.
- amy j. (10/5): - I completely enjoyed my stay at Spring Hotel in every way. The staff are wonderful. I can’t say enough how much I enjoyed my stay there. The rooms and bedding were impeccable, I couldn’t have been happier. There is a bus the manager Glen gives rides on a regular schedule in and out of town and he will go out of his way to take you to different beaches etc. that are not on the normal route. It’s lovely place with lovely people I highly recommended Spring Hotel.
- amy j. (10/5): - A lovely place to stay. Wonderful facility all around, wonderful staff. Be patient, your on island time. Highly recommend.
- Amanda (10/5): - Loved the staff. Glenn, the manager, was always available for anything we needed. The pool is just right forcooling off after enjoying the ever-present sun. The view is spectacular. Its just a short ride to town with its little shops and lots of restaurants and bars. I will definitely be going back.
- 575nikkyy (2/5): BEWARE !! - Booked a reservation through booking.com, and ended up contacting booking.com immediately to cancel it once learned that the only way to arrive to this hotel from an international airline was via boat. We are attending a funeral on the mainland, and it wouldn’t be convenient at all to have to travel by boat back and forth just to get to our hotel accomodation. Booking advised that they contacted the hotel to cancel the booking. My aunt contacted the hotel right after, to which the Hotel manager Jason advised that he will her communicating via message in booking.com’s and also kept telling her booking.com doesn’t want to cancel the reservation. This was since the early morning. It is now almost EST, and I had to actually call the hotel to which I was told to call Jason’s number. Jason hasn’t been answering calls from my aunt since this morning, and also was not answering mine. To which I located the website of the hotel, and called the owner Chris who is listed on the website as a contact as well. I advised him that I was trying to get in contact with Jason, and he advised me to try messaging him on WhatsApp. I contacted Jason to inform him that booking.com’s representative stated that they sent them an email 19 HOURS AGO, requesting a cancellation confirmation. They advised me prior to me contacting him that once they receive this, they would be able to cancel my reservation and waive the fee. When Jason FINALLY got back to our party, he sent a message in the portal stating they will be charging us 50% as a cancellation fee. Clearly this was a money grab from the very beginning, and that is why he was trying his best to convince my aunt to come to the hotel and not cancel. I presume this is why he also LIED and said booking.com won’t let him cancel the reservation, when in fact that was false; as booking.com was merely request a confirmation via email so they could go ahead and waive the cancellation fee. Completely turned off my the lack of communication and integrity from this hotel’s manager. This is already a sad time attending a funeral for a loved one, and with this being an introduction to the island— I can assure you I will spread to word to peers far and wide not to book with this hotel.
- Tesfa (8/5): - Very nice location with beautiful hillside views. The server Helen during the day time was very friendly and helpful. The evening girl not so much. The only problem we had while staying there was the cold water. not sure if we're doing it right; However it was a overall great place to stay. highly recomended.
- Roodya (4/5): - Very deceiving. I thought it was by the beach like the picture on the website and on the bequai ferry. It's was very far in the forest, up a hill. I chose beach view. But there was no beach. The beach was far from the hill. It's a lie. Don't use beach view. The shuttle offered to go to the city didn't make sense. Checkin is at 2. Shuttle to the beach at 3pm. Return shuttle from the city is at 5 or 7. If you use the 7 pm shuttle, the restaurant closes at 8. No time. And there's no sense using the 5pm return shuttle. Not enough time to spend at beach. The room appears nice when you fist arrive but more time pass you notice a bunch of bad stuff. The windows have cracks, and lizards could come in the room. The shower drain was blocked. The place was deserted. We were the only couple there. I have never been in an empty hotel. Unless people were hiding sleeping in their room because they had no choice. However the waitress was nice. The barmaid could not have a conversation. What was that ? Please remove your ad on the bequai ferry showing beach view. You are deceiving a lots of people.
- OregonDavi (10/5): Serene base from which to explore Bequia. - Located on a hilltop with spectacular views of Spring Bay. QUIET! Custom cooked breakfast included, varied excellent menus and bar service for lunch and dinner. Spring Hotel’s prices are lower than the accommodations closer to the beaches.
The isolation is an asset not a burden because of the frequent and convenient shuttle rides (no charge) to local beaches and bustling downtown Port Elizabeth.
Managers Jason and Glen take excellent care of their guests, carefully making certain that you have timely transport to and from the from the ferry terminal and local restaurants. The rest of the staff was friendly and efficient.
We stayed in one of the Venue rooms which all have private balconies with drop dead views overlooking Spring Bay.
The people we met everywhere on Bequia were among the friendliest we have met anywhere in our travels. Their Caribbean culture is alive and thriving, not an act for tourists. Add in great beaches and crystal clear warm waters for swimming and snorkeling and reasonable prices and you have a winning combination. It is probably what Hawaii was like 75 years ago.
We will be back!
- Joseph (2/5): - The staff were fantastic. However, management charged us extra for breakfast despite the listing stating explicitly "breakfast included" ... even their own menu stated it!!
- RandDtravellers (10/5): Great value hotel with good service and all you need for comfort and a lovely Caribbean vibe - We enjoyed our stay at the Bequia Spring. It's a small hotel with a Caribbean vibe and plenty of character. The staff throughout were all absolutley charming responding to every request with a smile. The location is lovely, and although we initially had a feeling that we might be a bit far from things, the regular hotel shuttle is a great service and gets you to town and the beach and back regularly. Up on the hill you get great views, a peaceful setting and no cruise crowds.
After a mix up with rooms we spent our first night in one of the modern Venue rooms, which are a bit box like but well appointed with fabulous views and all you need. Thereafter (and following the offer or complementary dinner to compensate the error) we moved to the King Suite we'd booked which also had great views and is a spacious characterful room with a huge comfortable bed, table and chairs, dressing table and a dressing room area in the bathroom as well as a balcony with chairs. Rooms were clean, linens good quality and we were provided with plenty of towels, including for the beach, robes, water, kettel and a fridge and there are good TVs in the rooms plus free wifi and both had good aircon. The Suite could do with a bit of updating, particularly in the bathroom but eventually everything worked and we were very comfortable. (Worth taking note that on the islands the occasinal problems with water supply seem to be fairly common).
There are plenty of places to relax around the hotel including terraces and the pool area which is all well kept. The pool is small but it's possible to do lengths and it was never busy. Our included continental breakfast was good and dinner was an unchanging menu and not particularly memorable. The hotel is quite small so always felt quite relaxed and intimate, no queues or bustle anywhere to be seen. All the other guests we met were independent travellers like ourselves, some just coming across from St Vincent for one or two nights and others like us staying 5 days or more.
Would absolutely recommend staying here. It was good value and we felt it was very Bequia, just what we were looking for.
- Florent (8/5): - Requires storing shelves in rooms.
- Dulcina (4/5): - My booking of my King Suite was canceled 2 dys before my arrival. We got stuck in a singles suite - 2 single bed! We only spent 1 nite as the room was filled with Millipedes, a scorpion and lots of bugs. Also the room was located in a basement type location where the scent of the sceptic tank was so nauseating. It was terrible! Positives were the staff and the grounds were nice. I’m truly disappointed as it broke my plans for a great 4 dys in Bequia
- badfoulf (10/5): Hidden Gem on Bequia - Booked last minute on Air BNB and we were not disappointed. We were picked up from the ferry port by Glen Aka Big G. From start to finish we were not Disappointed TAM and the rest of the Staff made our trip to Bequia very memorable would recommend this hotel to anyone going to stay in Bequia
- jameslU4041LP (10/5): Stay in Bequai - Nice location for views but a bit of a walk into the town and beach. If I was to visit Bequai again I might pick a location closer to the beach although more expensive. They do run a shuttle service run by Glen and he is very accommodating. The staff were the most impressive thing about Spring hotel. Tammy and her team can’t do enough for you.
- 543gautes (4/5): Great location, poor restaurant and service - Beautiful place, great free shuffle service, and nice and spacious rooms. But, the service was far below what we expected (and compares to the service level we experienced other places in the island), especially in the restaurant. It took very long time to get food, the food was at times not well prepared and had to be sent back to the kitchen, and the restaurant was not able to deliver food to a family of 5 at the same time.
- BajanVincy (10/5): Excellent getaway! - My wife and I stayed there for our anniversary. Nothing bad can be really said about the hotel, only thing negative that is worth mentioning is that the food was a bit pricey and the portion sizes. Service was immaculate and kudos to Kelly-Ann, Glen and Jason for the kind hospitality extended. We would definitely return and recommend this hotel to anyone. Perfect getaway for anniversaries, honeymoon, retreat etc. Keep up the good work guys.
- Anjanee (8/5): - My stay was very enjoyable. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was hospitable.
- Jesse (10/5): - Place was really nice. Staff and service even nicer. We will surly be back!
- Richard (10/5): - Accommodation unique and interesting and in a good way. The gem of the stay was the friendliness and professionalism of the staff. Really made the holiday memorable and in a good way. Would recommend and would stay again. Nothing to dislike
- 474larrye (10/5): Amazing Staff - Beautiful location with very clean rooms and an amazing staff! All the staff was very friendly and helpful, especially our waitress/bartender Tammy, Glen our transportation driver, and Jason the manager. Everyone at the hotel made us feel at home.
I couldn't think of a better place to unwind after a week of sailing.
- JDSHatch (10/5): Beautiful, warm and welcoming hotel! - We loved our stay at this lovely hotel. The site, buildings, rooms, amenities, food and especially the staff were all warm, welcoming and terrific. It's small scale so there is lots of personal attention and everyone was extraordinarily helpful.
- Anethra (8/5): - The staff were exceptional. Glenn was most gracious in getting us to our locations on time which is vital to so many activities on and off the island. The meals were safely prepared and the presentation of the food was beautiful. Our waitress (Kelly Ann) and waiter (Brandon) were on point with the delivery and noted small details for the chef. The Chef has a talent well beyond expectation from such a quaint, yet beautiful resort. We took advantage of all the amenities offered, loved the spaciousness of the rooms, and the picturesque views were the top of the iceberg. We look forward to our return at this location soon.
- donnique (10/5): - The staff was welcoming and very accommodating.
- Natasha (10/5): - amazing place to stay. The entire staff was very attentive. Big G is amazing! I would totally recommend this place. Also food was great. One had one of the best BLT there <3
- Dan (10/5): - staff was very kind lots of peace and quiet
Great Place
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay for the two nights, they were accommodating, easy check in, great food, we loved the pool, and comfortable rooms, loved that we didn’t need too much AC because the location was cool! The staff was friendly and amazing. And the amenities were great. Would definitely go back and would definitely recommend staying here!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Relaxing getaway. - It’s a very secluded areas but there is a regular shuttle running during the day. Despite some technical difficulties, the were very accommodating. Absolutely stunning rooms and the area itself is beautiful. I highly recommend for someone looking to getaway or for a couples trip/honeymoon
- MTR1982 (10/5): Absolutely AMAZING! - This place is incredible. From the moment we arrived to the minute we left 7 days later we were pampered with a kind, helpful, friendly staff. Glen picked us up from the ferry dock when we arrived and was kind and courteous and very helpful with his knowledge of the island, things to do, places to go and see, etc... and was ensured that we were well taken care of our entire stay. The views from our room were spectacular! The bed was comfortable, room was very clean and well appointed. The pool was the perfect temp to cool down and there was even a pool table in the game room! From the bar there is an awesome view of Spring Bay below and Jonti pours an amazing cocktail! He made sure that my favorite Rum and my wife's favorite wine were always in stock. The kitchen and wait staff were amazing as well. Chef Alf made us one amazing meal after another during our stay and we were blown away at the flavors and presentation each and every time we sat down. I can't say enough about the food, accommodations and especially the people at the Spring Hotel......We feel as though we have a larger family now......We will definitely be back soon!
Thank you Jason and staff for making us feel at home and comfortable during these weird Covid times!! We miss you all already!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Sehr ruhig gelegen.... absolutes Paradies....tolle Aussicht....freundliches Personal.... Shuttleservice zum Strand
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Loved the location, it was perfect for relaxing & enjoying the beautiful weather & scenery. A big shout out to all the staff, they are all exceptional. So welcoming and made our stay a memorable one.
There is a free shuttle service during your stay that again made it easy to get around. Towels for the pool & to take to the beach are available. We stayed in a queen suite, it was lovely & roomy perfect for our time on the island.
I can highly recommend this hotel if you are looking to stay in Bequia.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Das Hotel ist alles in allem TOP!! Personal super freundlich, gratis Shuttle Service, tolle Lage! Kundenzufriedenheit wird hier sehr groß geschrieben! Getränke und Essen war ebenfalls sehr lecker :-)
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The accommodations/services/amenities were great; but the road to get there were a real challenge, and once you got to the hotel you felt trapped as it meant going doing very narrow one lane roads that had extremely sharp twists and turns to get to anywhere.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We stayed at Spring hotel for dads 80th birthday. On arrival they had decorated the room beautifully. Such a nice touch! Rooms were lovely and clean. Comfy beds with AC and a fan. Food was nice although a little garlicky and always slow in coming. Dessert of chocolate cake was awful and stale. Only after we paid up front did anyone mention that the pool was out of use. Annoying as this was one of the hotels main attractions but Glen and Dexter couldn’t have done more for us and actually on our last day the pool was back in use. Lovely time overall. Would recommend but personally I probably wouldn’t stay again - only because of its location. Bit too secluded.
- David (10/5): A peaceful haven! - A wonderful quiet location high up in the hills, and beautifully finished rooms. We stayed in the Canouan Suite with lovely views from our balcony down to the ocean far below. You need a car or taxi or the wonderful Dexter to get you places. Meals were great too. Beaches and the town of Port Elizabeth lovely. Wi-fi good throughout the hotel.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Bequia - Hotel and its staff are amazing. Redtaurant and favilities are fantastic. A little out of way to enjoy the town and beach.
- chad (10/5): Excellent place! - Love this place. A bit off the beaten path but very quiet and comfortable. Staff are amazing. Views are just as good :)
- don (10/5): It's Ferry ride away..... - The host was very friendly and we enjoyed everything.
- donna (10/5): Its big inviting and the ambeince is lovely - The place is quiet scenic romantic .its pretty awesome
- Gemma (10/5): - Muy amables y simpaticos
- James (8/5): nice retreat great for friends travelling together - The hotels is really nice, well laid out and feels like a swanky villa. It would be perfect for a medium or large group of friends who wanted to get away together. There is enough privacy when you want it at the room but being around the pool could be a but awkward if you were wanting to get away for some privacy, as social interaction would definitely be required which isn't necessarily appealing to introverts but great if you are extrovert and there are other guests. Fortunately for us there were no other guests as we were looking for a get away to relax and we literally had the place to ourselves. Randa cooked us a very nice meal which was worth staying in for, she is very nice and friendly, as is Dexter who was very nice and helpful and always keen to make sure we had what we needed. He even came on to the ferry to collect us so we couldn't miss him. We were very happy with their service. There were humming birds buzzing around the pool area which was awesome and they came very close to feed from the flowers around the pool area. Negative points are that the place is out the way and not very easy to leave the property without taking a ride with Dexter or calling a cab. no mini bar either and no local shops so was a bit frustrating when we wanted some snacks. The pool also needed a clean as the water looked a bit murky and the loungers were tired, but ok. Lots of mosquitos still keen to bite, even with 50% DEET repellent on! Id say its worth a visit
- Cynthia (10/5): Perfect Caribbean Deam Hotel! - Our room was very large and beautifully decorated! Bathroom could have used a little more lighting, but it was also very large and even had plushy robes for our use.
Pool was just the right size for relaxing and having a drink out by the bar. The view were spectacular.
Vanda prepared a wonderful breakfast for us daily and an amazing dinner for us one night. Dexter drove us from the airport and on excursions. He provided many interesting facts about the local area. Everyone at the hotel was very friendly and accommodating to our every need!
Enjoy!!
- Turtle Lady (10/5): Great Mountain top view. Wonderful Staff - We spent 2 nights at Spring House before going on a cruise. It's a beautiful property with a fantastic view of the water and the Islands. Our room had a 4 poster bed with netting and a large bathroom with plenty of space.
The outdoor deck has a bar with fridge and the drinks are on an honor system. You can order your meals and the staff sees to it that you are very happy!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Beautifully appointed hotel in serene forest - We went there to look for birds, but it would be a fine place for any couple or family interested in a relatively quiet vacation. Sweet little pool, easy transport to beaches and to fine restaurants in town, and there's a good resident chef as well who can cook delicious breakfasts, lunches, and dinners.
- Teresa (10/5): My Favorite All Time Spot - We loved Spring House, the design, breezes, views, people, comfort, food, service, all of it. Please do yourself a favor and go there!
- Cathy (8/5): Paradise found then lost - I prepaid for two stays one week apart, for a room with ocean view from the balcony. The first stay was spectacular; the second stay we were put in a room that had no view, no working cable for the TV, and a nearly nonfunctional shower. When I mentioned that it seemed they weren't ready for us I was told that there had been some late reservations (who got our ocean view room). I was told that the owner would contact me regarding the problems (he wasn't on site), but it has been one week without any word. I would go back, but not as enthusiastically as prior to my second stay. A word about Vonda, the woman who does all the cooking and apparently oversees operations: she's wonderful.
- Roger (10/5): " No problem" - The hotel location and the team running the hotel a were excellent. Would recommend booking the all inclusive meal package as only restaurant is Sugar reef, which is over priced. Although cable TV was advertised none of the rooms had a working TV.
- Charlotte (10/5): Luxurious place, stunning sea views - Spring House is more like staying in a luxurious private home than a hotel, high on a hill overlooking the bright turquoise Caribbean sea. The owners have thought of everything you could want for entertainment if you should get bored of sunbathing on the sun-beds or lazing around reading in big comfy chairs or the hammock; a great little swimming pool, a pool table, ping-pong, board games of all descriptions etc. All the rooms have lovely big comfy beds and excellent bathrooms. Lovely Vanda makes a great breakfast and keeps it all spotless with the help of Nicky, and Lawson can be booked easily and at very reasonable rates to drive you around the island, to the beautiful beaches or to good restaurants for a chilled-out lobster or conch meal overlooking the harbour. It would be a perfect house to go for a large family get-together, with a group of friends, or for a small wedding, as the guest kitchen means you can do for yourselves if you want, and there is a pool-side bar area with music system etc. You do have to be prepared that it is a 10 min drive to the best swimming beaches and the harbour town where most of the shops and restaurants are located, although there are 2 good restaurants much closer at Sugar Reef and Firefly. It is located at the top of a long and very steep hill so not easy to do anything on foot.
