Guest Reviews
- Sabrina (10/5): - My daughter and I made a last minute decision to visit the beach and stayed two nights! Was wonderful!
- Cody (10/5): - The location and family feel of the Driftwood is superb. We felt safe and loved being able to walk out our door to the beach. Everyone was very nice and friendly.
- Cori Ann (10/5): - Excellent stay , very clean , very friendly staff. Excellent view and convenience. Bed could use a topper but no dip just firm standard bed . Excellent view and roomy ! Would definitely go back !
- Barbara (8/5): - The property nees railings to go down some of the walkways they are steep.
- David (10/5): - Great place to stay. Will definitely go there again!!
- kelly (10/5): - We have been coming here for years. Always very clean, staff is always working hard and friendly. Seems everyone we meet there are returning guests and all have positive reveiws.
- Randy (10/5): - Really enjoyed the stay, staff were very friendly, professional. I stayed right on the beach level, very convenient, getting on and off the beach. And several good places with in walking distance to eat and have good time. I will be returning to property.
- Angela (10/5): - Hidden gem. Completely old school, but if you get a cabana room you have the beach and its views to yourself. Rooms are outdated, but clean!
- Dilsad (10/5): - After a disastrous dirty disgusting condo we were sold and realize that after a long drive with kids we found this gem online and luckily they had 3 rooms available for us. We made the reservation at 11pm and got into our rooms in 45 min
We loved how modest but clean and comfortable the property. It feels like we are at our parent’s old summer house with all memories:) we got those rooms for one night but extended 3 more nights they just showed us 2 different rooms. We are having a lot of fun and forgot about the disaster we lived through at the first place
- Kathy (10/5): Location, Location - This hotel is in the perfect location! Right on the beach and a short walk to Pier Park and restaurants. The room and grounds were clean and staff were friendly. Wouldn’t hesitate to book there again.
- Sarah (8/5): - Good
- Misty (8/5): - The view is stunning from room 142, I can't speak for the other rooms. The property is very close to Walmart, Top Golf, and Pier Walk. There is a splash pad and pool for very little kids. The do have another pool for older children and adults. The room was clean and has basic necessities. They clean the room everyday and replenish towels and wash cloths. I do wish they had a broom in the room to sweep up if something is spilled or to sweep up sand. I was a little noisy because our bedroom was closest to the road, however that would not deter me from staying again. Staff was very nice and accommodating.
- James (10/5): - Had an amazing stay grounds were upkeep pools were great had plenty of other things to do. If tour a tall person the shower head were a litttle low.
- Timothy (2/5): - Sheets dirty!! Old
- jane (10/5): - Very nice place to stay! We loved it and everyone was very nice.
- Angela (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay very much. Was kind of disappointed with the lack of breakfast and the onsite tiki bar closed very early (7 pm)
But there were other options within walking distance
- Barton (10/5): Thanks for a great stay! - Came for a few days to relax on the beach. The only issue we had was no room parking in front we had to squeeze in and out of our car doors. But it’s not a deal breaker but the spaces aren’t very big
- Jennifer (10/5): - It was a very quaint property right on the beach. Lots of great places to sit and view the ocean. Great staff! Free coffee in the morning and free popcorn in the afternoon! Loved it!
- Maria (10/5): - Loved our stay here!! Everything was great, will definitely come back!
- Dana (8/5): Needs coffee cups - Enjoyed my stay here. Only thing I would change is the room had no cups of any type so you could pour yourself a cup of coffee.
- Enrique (10/5): - nice hotel
great view
great room
- Janet (8/5): - The location of this place is perfect! I love the family atmosphere, the games and entertainment they have for children, and all the amenities. Our room was clean and the beds were comfortable. For the price you can’t beat it! We’ll definitely stay there again!
- Darlene (10/5): - Super nice people working there, very clean, right on the beach. Always stay here when in PCB!!!
- Tenya (2/5): - I want my deposit back
- Linda (10/5): Excellent Place To Stay - My Husband and I Enjoyed Our Stay The Staff Were Amazing And So Friendly and Helpful Sp Close to Pier Park we walked ...Easy acess to beach Clean Clean Very Comfortable Stay
- Al (10/5): Pre- Memorial Day visit - Driftwood Lodge reminds us of the way a family run hotel was when you were not a number, but a welcomed guest. Still nice to be able to find a place like that!
- Elaine (10/5): - I have a lovely stay at the Driftwood Lodge!
- Ashley (10/5): - Grew up coming to the Driftwood as a kid. Came back 20 years later and just as great as i remember! The staff are so kind and so many returning guests. Sits right on the beach. Convienent and safe. Will definitely be back!
- Carolyn (10/5): - We’ve been here several times and always had a great experience!
- ANNE MARIE (10/5): -
We have stayed multiple places this is by far our favorite. There is a small old time charm about it. Very clean . We love staying there at beach level
- rodneyr715 (4/5): Cockroaches - Staff were very friendly and informative and the resort was priced well. Having direct access to beach was a big plus but I shared the room with four cockroaches. I killed three and one was stuck in bathroom light switch. Imagine turning on light and see two roach legs going into switch. Room 154 has a problem
- buenahembra2010 (4/5): Never again - Oh my goodness, every day there were cockroaches in the bathtub, on the table, on the floor, and even in the light switch. The cockroaches were so large that I could see their extended legs. I didn't understand why the housekeeper was so persistent about cleaning the room.
- CozCanJam (10/5): Family Friendly Lodge - Our vacation at the Driftwood is always amazing. It is a great family friendly lodge with pools and activities for all. They have contest for the kids, an outdoor movie night and a tiki bar for food and drinks. It is located right on the beach and walking distance from the city pier and pier park. Lots of places to eat around the area. And if you want to cook your own meals there are several stores nearby and some rooms have kitchenettes and outdoor grills. My son caught a couple Spanish mackerel and cleaned them and I baked them for dinner. I say when it is your vacation make the most of it!!
- Brianne (10/5): - Wonderful stay overall. I loved it. Will be back soon
- Angela (10/5): - Be sure to pay extra for oceanfront and you won’t hear a thing! Not updated, but clean and close to Pier Park.
- Kent (10/5): - Everyone was the best
- Angela (10/5): - Had a great stay, wish we could have stayed longer.
- Janice (10/5): - Great experience, amazing customer service and great views with access to the beach and pools. Definitely recommend this for families
- Daryl (4/5): Do not stay here. - I will not be coming back to this hotel. Staff was so rude. Reserved a room with a kitchenette but ended up with a microwave. The rooms they put us in was so small. Never hard to walk with 4 people in it.
- Leonard (6/5): - A bit run down with limited amenities.
- Jonathan (10/5): - Property grounds are great! Staff friendly. Rooms old school/kitschy. Would def stay here again.
- Ronald (8/5): - It reminded me of old Florida hotels. If you don't mind things looking a little dated, I found it to be charming and relaxing. I was very comfortable there and the location was perfect.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great Hidden Gem On The Beach - Weather was heavy rain, but the property has a large patio section with seats and games to play. Balcony is larger than any Ive seen lately. Would definitely stay here for a longer period of time next time.
- Brenda (10/5): - Glad we stumbled upon this place...right on the beach and walking distance to restaurants and beach plaza
- Karen (10/5): - Wonderful
- David (10/5): - Located on the beach close to shopping district.
- Nachite (10/5): - I have been here before and would come again. It’s close to everything, shopping restaurants and entertainment. Rooms are great with kitchenette and ocean views. Plus it’s only 3 1/2 hours away.
- susan (8/5): - It’s an older property in a really great location. Walkable to the pier and pier park. Clean and friendly staff. It was off season so the tiki bar wasn’t opened nor the pool but the price reflected that so it was fine. Still get the amazing views of the gulf from your balcony.
- Sally (10/5): - Cleanest Florida hotel! Imnaculate old tine charm. Thoroughly loved our room, location and convenience. Can't wait to go back.
No elevators, no parking decks, just relaxing and enjoying your time.
Ours had microwave, refrigerator, coffee pot , toaster and dishes. Really a studio apartment.
- Sona (10/5): - Walk out onto the beach without loading into an elevator! Like a step back in time. So clean and the staff is wonderful.
- Alyssa (10/5): - All around amazing
- rscruggs88 (8/5): Great family place - This place was great for a budget friendly trip for our family. It’s not the nicest or newest place in town, but if you just need a place to sleep while you spend your days at the beach it is perfect! The staff were all very friendly. We loved the extra events like watermelon day and daily games. We really enjoyed the deck for the 4th to watch fireworks with the other guests. It felt like we were with family to be honest. The atmosphere and the easy beach access is great for families. We used the community grills to cook almost every night so we saved a ton on eating out. The kids loved the pool. Thanks for a great stay!
- John (10/5): - Very nice clean well grounds
- Ruthann Elizabeth (10/5): - The atmosphere at the property is very comforting and relaxing. The staff is very friendly and welcoming and goes out of their way to make sure that everyone is comfortable.
- Dana Jena (8/5): - Very family oriented and also good for seniors. Ground was mostly level or very few steps. Grades were not excessively steep. In close proximity to the beach.
- jodi (10/5): - Would have liked the Tiki bar to stay open later. But over all we loved our stay. Nothing to complain about. Will definitely be going bk and staying there again. Very family friendly. The price was great! Great views. Close to pier. Shopping is walking distance. There is a bar called Donovans right across the street and Wes the bartender is awesome!!!
- Shelly (10/5): - Had a wonderful time with my friends. I really have no complaints about our stay
- James (10/5): - Excellent service and friendly staff! Stayed here for 5 nights as part of a destination wedding and couldn't have asked for a better home base. My wife and I especially loved how close we were to the beach and the nearby dining area which had great bars and restaurants. Overall lovely and very pretty.
- Marc (10/5): - We enjoyed the property and would stay again!
- Ray (4/5): - We checked in, went to the room (in the motel portion of the property), and immediately left the room and checked out. There were flies in the room and it smelled like smoke. The online pictures were taken at angles that left out the less undesirable details. The comforters were very old and faded. The room wasn’t necessarily dirty, just very dingy. It was late when we arrived and there were kids running around unattended, people standing around smoking, adults partying loudly in the hot tub. If you are ok staying in motels that have a number in their name you will probably be ok with this place. If you like a refined hotel it is not for you. I would rate this place a 2 star. They did refund all our money less the first night and I thought that fair enough. This place has great reviews. These reviews were left by folks who don’t mind dealing with all the things I’ve listed above.
- Elisheba (6/5): - Not our first choice but it was a decent stay. It was very dated and we had our vehicle vandalized in the parking lot. Some of the housekeeping staff were rude.
- linda (10/5): - Very family oriented
- Wayne (10/5): - The staff were very friendly and polite. The ground were very well kept.
- Christie (6/5): Great Customer Service. - Hotel room was clean and well located. It is old with dated finishes and bedding.
- Michael (10/5): - Perfect location, old vibe with just enough of current tech to stay comfy but still disengage from the day to day stressors. Love the tiki bar, grill set ups, beach chair access, two pools kid friendly but not overwhelming. It was perfect. Walking distance to shops, dives, and the mainstream touristy spots. Never had to leave. Excellent. Kind of wish I kept it a secret.
- Amanda (8/5): - Rooms were very clean. Staff was friendly. Grounds were kept clean
- Donald (10/5): - It was a very nice place to stay. And I will be coming back soon. And I would recommend it for a very good place for family to stay. Thank you.
- Shannon (10/5): - The property was well maintained. The staff was very attentive to keeping everything In tiptop shape. The location was great!
- Daynette (10/5): - Right on beach beds were comfortable. And the staff cleaned the rooms everyday.
- Norma (10/5): - Had an amazing stay at Driftwood Lodge! I didn’t know this place existed until I found it on Hotels.com. It will be my go to for stays in Panama City Beach!
- TERRY (10/5): Older hotel, but Cozy with beach access - It was nice for an older hotel. Beds were comfortable, rooms cleaned daily and staff was very friendly. We would stay there again.
Not a lot of wall outlets and very small bathrooms. No elevator.
Parking out front is Very Very tight, but there is a large parking area across the street which we used to ensure no door dings on our vehicles.
Overall it was a nice stay for that week.
- Jordan (10/5): - Great place mom and pops style
- Joe (10/5): - The property and staff were great! It is right on the beach and close to other activities.
- Eric (10/5): - Awesome place!
- Lisa (10/5): Clean with a nice location - Driftwood is a dated hotel … which didn’t inspire confidence, HOWEVER, it’s maintained very well : exterior is very clean and freshly painted … interior is also extremely clean. The room smelled simply clean… no mildew smell or room spray deodorizers to mask smells. The price was very fair for the proximity to the sand with ocean view available. The back of the rooms opens to a kind of courtyard where there is a lot of seating around the facility. You wouldn’t be able to leave a door open for ocean sound at night (fyi). We didn’t partake of the rest of the facility- it was an overnight stop. We would stay there again for sure.
- Joseph (10/5): - Clean, well priced, on the beach.

- Savannah (10/5): - Everything was great
- Suzanne (8/5): - Cute old beach hotel with a view.
I was on the second floor and had a beautiful view. Lots of kids and families here so it was pretty loud out by the pools daytime/evening during my 4 nights.
Close walk to a few restaurants.
Lots of parking but wow are the spots tight!
- Kyle (10/5): - Great location
- patricia (10/5): - Family
- Donald (10/5): Classic Service/Exceptional Facilities - Awesome lodge nestled between the high rises of PCB. The Driftwood is a little throwback to times when people were the priority. Well-maintained facilities with exceptional staff. My family will be back. Love the fact that they do not allow spring breakers to rent.
- Christa (10/5): - We really enjoyed our stay here! It was a last minute reservation. Our room was clean and roomy with a beautiful walk out patio with wonderful view of the ocean. It’s in a great location close to stores and within walking distance to pier and dining options. We look forward to staying again.
- Mallory (10/5): - My kids love this place and the hot tub!

- Christine (10/5): - Great place for a spur of moment trip.
- Carole (10/5): - It was an amazing stay. View was awesome. Will definitely be back.
- Raymond (8/5): - Driftwood is set-up for extended stay. Our three night stay was okay.Personel were good.
