- Stefan (3/5): I wouldn’t know from where to start. First of all I stayed here because it was the only and single option I had for this - I didn’t like. It was the only option I found in this period and I had no idea is so busy in this specific week in Seoul. The property needs massive maintenance and repairs snd recondition.

- Alexis (5/5): - Each room has its own bathroom with a shower which was very nice and it also came with a fridge and 2 seated desks. There was a pretty decent mosquito issue and I am unsure when the rooms are cleaned between visitors as I had a large spider’s web and spider next to my bed and there was a dark hair under the comforter.

- SHIXU (1/5): terrible - The geographical location can also be close to the subway station. The room environment is very poor, and the landlord's front desk service is not timely, which is very bad and affects the trip.
- Dora (1/5): never again - At check-in, there was a huge confusion. There was no one at the reception, and no one was answering the phone. They only responded to messages in the end. When the receptionist arrived, she didn’t even greet us, just gave us the key card and left. During the next 5 days of our stay, we never saw anyone at the reception.
After check-in, two more people knocked on our room door to make sure it was really us, even though the receptionist had already checked us in based on our passports.
At 1 AM, it doesn't seem normal to be fixing baseboards in the hallway and making noise.
The room was very dirty and showed repeated neglect in cleaning. The bathroom light didn’t work. The shared kitchen was quite disgusting.
Despite the low price, this accommodation is definitely not worth it.

- Kelly (4/5): Be prepared for a BUDGET hostel - We knew that we were booking a CHEAP room, so we managed our expectations based on that (we paid $23/night for the stay). It was awesome to have a private bathroom (toilet, sink, and shower) in our room. The floor was heated, so that was cozy. There was an a/c unit, but we did not turn it on, so cannot speak to that. It is close to a major train station, so it worked well as a home base for our trip to Seoul. You get what you pay for; expect a cheap stay and you'll be alright. A couple of things were disappointing with our stay. First, on arrival, the sheets on the bed were dirty (hair and sticky spots in the sheets). They did change our sheets halfway through our stay and they were clean after that. Second, our room had less than half a roll of toilet paper when we arrived. We asked for more on the second day (messaged the hosts and they said they would bring more), but it never arrived; we ended up buying some. Third, there were some bugs (not bedbugs) in the room. This was not a huge concern for us as we knew it was a budget hostel, but I know some people would be bothered by this.
- Babyyana Amelia (1/5): We checked out after only 1 night of a 5-night reservation (2 rooms) due to truly unacceptable conditions. Check-in was - Nothing Everything.

- Jenny (5/5): Good location/ dirty bathroom - Location is convenient. 5 mins walk to train and bus station. Restaurants and 7/11 nearby. Bed was very comfortable and room was always warm. Bathroom mouldy and smelly, very disgusting they left rubbish in the bin and used soap from previous guest.
Long wait time for the key at 1 am in a very cold night.

- Itzhak (1/5): - Mould , lots of it , in the badroom , bathroom and toilets . The Tap is heaily leaking .
The room smells horrible due to the mould
- Sigitas (1/5): Terrible - Nothing Choose another place. This place needs urgent renovation. The room is damaged, holes in walls, not clean, you can see hair on the floor and a lot of mosquitos inside. No staff inside, you talk on phone with several different persons and nobody knows anything. Not worth it.
- MariaToulousa (4/5): For this kind of money it's passable - Location is good, near subway and bus stops.
Price is cheap. MOLD EVERYWHERE

Jedyny plus to cena. Przydałby się remont i odświeżenie.
- Bilguunzaya (1/5): - Nothing makes me comfortable There were so many cockroaches, and the place was extremely dirty and uncomfortable. Never again! If you’re reading this, please don’t choose this hostel. I booked it for 6 days but could only stay 3 — those three days were a nightmare. It smelled disgusting, and even after I complained, they still haven’t given me a refund
- JSLKDJFSL (1/5): -
- Kacper (1/5): Horrible - Nothing It was horrible, we booked one place and they overbooked so we went to a different hostel down the road. Much much worse conditions. Mould everywhere
- Funju (1/5): -
- Kritartha (3/5): -
- Vavi (9/5): Superb - It was not bad, the place is quite and very safe. Nobody shows you around the facility.
- James (1/5): Hostel Seoul - It was a cheap room. So glad I was able to secure a private room, which did have access to private bathroom, hot water, and mini fridge. Washing machine to use for very reasonable price. Also, staff was able to help me change my room from ground level to rooftop. First off - I communicated through the Booking portal to inform Hostel Seoul of my arrival time, but no one was at reception when I arrived. I messaged the hostel multiple times letting them know I was there, waiting to check-in; no response. I waited 2 hours until another guest was able to contact the manager - immediate response was complaint that I did not pay for room yet (*this tells me they don't care about service, manager just wants money*). I told them I would like to see my room first, then I would pay.
First room had a hole in the ceiling bigger that my fist that I sort of plugged with cardboard and tape, just to keep anything out.
The second room had very low ceiling throughout (*I kept hitting my head on light fixtures*), and bathroom had black mold EVERYWHERE (*ceiling, sink, and even around bottom of toilet🤢*); a little bit of mold even inside mini fridge. I asked for cleaning supplies so I could clean myself, but a staff member just advised I leave the bathroom door open. She said management has been told about this problem but refuses to do anything about it.
And finally, bed not comfortable in either room; like hundreds of guests had already slept right in middle of bed, creating a sinking feeling. I removed the pillow cases just to check condition of pillows -- disgusting!!! I ended up sleeping on top of blankets, using bath towels to cover up and rolled up as a pillow (*I figured - at least these get washed*). I just decided to "tough it out" for just a few days because it was a cheap room. I feel bad for anyone who had to share rooms.
- Jinwon (4/5): Short stay would be nice - Location was good to access big attractions and public transportation. Very loud at night time as it was located next to a main road. Staff was not there all the time, which was not convenient and they were not friendly.
- Novita (6/5): Pleasant - Good enough for budget traveller, you can stay in seoul with low price, it has private bathroom too with water heater, and also tv, small refrigrator and free water to drink, you can also use washing machine there, I got room in front of kitchen or laundry room, and its so noisy, dont expect anything from cleaness, for advise.. its better to bring your own towel and bed cover, also slipper
- Phadej (1/5): Suck - 👎 Service so bad
- Alva (8/5): Good location and budget friendly - Cleanliness needs to be improved.
The staff were kind and helpful
- Lorenz (2/5): Terrible - My check in date is march 31 and staff reply on the morning around 10am. I'm was there around 6am and they reply 10am. So i waited for almost 4hrs before i check in.
- Tsevelmaa (4/5): Disappointing -
- Pedro (1/5): I wouldn't stay again - Basically unmanned, super humid, and unfortunately a little too dirty.
There were hairs on the bed linens and earrings. There was mold on the walls of the bathroom.
The kitchen was super dirty as well
Our room didn't have heater and our request was neglected and ignored.
When we arrived we were transferred to a twin room with the promise of giving us a double(as we paid for in advance) the next day. That didn't happen. Only two nights later with our insistence. And the room that was given to us was also dirty and humid
- Wu (7/5): You get what you pay for - I am not going to lie, before landing in Seoul, I was biting my nails for several weeks after having read some of the reviews here, and I will not be sugar coating -- the reviews are all more or less true. However, after staying 5 nights in Hostel Seoul, I remind myself that you cannot get anything for this price or even double the price in Seoul. So, you really get what you pay for, and all things considered, if you have set yourself low expectations (again, think about the price), the place is really not that bad. Yes, it could be cleaner. True, the floor and the carpet could be neater. However, it is a place that offers you shelter and offers you some perks, such as a washing machine and a drier, which are both free to use. And the location could not be much better either. If I were to go purely by the tidiness of the place and the quality of the facilities, I'd probably rate it a 2, but definitely no more than 3. However, if you look at the context and the price, I would have to rate it higher than that. Facilities need improvement (walls, ceilings, floors - pretty much everything, haha). Whilst I did not mind not having reception available, others may have different requirements, so this is something to be considered.
- Sue-allisson (2/5): Needs maintenance urgently - The location was near the subway, and the station was close to downtown The room really needs maintenance. The bathroom was also very dirty, and the towels… oh wow. They had a piss smell we just couldn’t use them, and again they were dirty. We had to buy a new towel at Daiso to dry after the showers. The bed had hairs and a yellowish color, seemed they didnt washed the sheets. It was really uncomfortable and disgusting staying there
- Siti (10/5): Overall is good i have good experience here! Nice for solo traveller - Complete The rook quite messy & the carpet is not clean enough maybe can change into the new one next time
- Marvin (4/5): Affordable stay in Seoul. - Private room at the rooftop.
Washing and drying machine available No instructions to check in. Waited for more than an hour for the key.
- John (10/5): Exceptional -
- Phineas (1/5): Bad - This was a horrible experience. The room was filled with black mold. There is no staff on site at all and their response time is abysmal. I ended up leaving within minutes and booking another hostel. I am currently trying to get a refund and they are being horrible in this process as well.
- Edmee (7/5): Good -
- Hadi (1/5): Bad -
- Franklin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kiahct82 (10/5): Exceptional - Very good Nothing
- Alcantara (6/5): Pleasant -
- Besma (4/5): Disappointing - They were helpful and answered any questions i had. I believe the pictures posted are a bit outdated... It was not very clean and the mouldiness was quite concerning...
- Artem (6/5): Pleasant -
- Fatanah (8/5): good - All good, very close to subway and bus station. For muslim tourist, halal restaurant no option (near hostel). The floor has dust.
- Khalid (1/5): Bad -
- Vladimir (4/5): Disappointing - No good
- Francis (5/5): Passable - The staff are kind and accommodating. The location is convenient. The room is not that clean. The bathroom has almost no lights. I was told that there were previous occupants who just opted not to stay, and it seemed like a spare room since the original location of the hotel I booked with them was full already. I was just tired and agreed to stay in another hostel under them since I came from a long travel.
- Nicah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marie (6/5): Pleasant - The location is pretty nice, with access to the subway and buses easily!
you can have a breakfast (bread+jam) and have available coffee and tea
The laundry is pretty easy to do and very cheap The room is not as clean as you might wish for...
The WiFi almost didn't work in the 1st floor, so we had to go downstairs in the "breakfast room" to have it, because there isn't any common room, so it's not comfy
- Agnes (1/5): Bad -
- Didar (5/5): Passable -
- Mia (1/5): Horrible - Nothing Everything, very dirty
- Guerrero (8/5): Value for money. - They provided the basic needs as a solo traveler.
Room is big enough, the bathroom is spacious.
Room is clean enough, plastic bags are available so you can mange your own trash.
Location is near Dongmyo Market , but its is far from major tourist attractions. There are several bus stations around and Line 1 is 10mins away.
- Jocelyn (3/5): don’t expect anything good. - Staff did not mind anything. The reception guy (looks foreigner) was quite rude and not accommodating. I remember exactly what he told us. We are asking about some infos and he answered like Can you read by yourself or can’t u even read anything. After that we never ask for anything but that is the price of getting a affordable hotel i guess.
- Hannah (1/5): Disgusting, I have never had such a bad accommodation experience as this! - There was not even 1 good thing! Disgusting and scammers!!!
I have never had such a bad accommodation experience as this! It was so bad that after an hour I decided to book another hotel and leave as soon as possible.
In the photos shown online, the budget room just seems good and basic. But once I entered the room the smell was unbearable. It smelled like moisture mixed with scented candles, which immediately gave me a headache. The shower was just a tap on the toilet and the toilet was almost falling apart. There were damp patches everywhere and the floor was also unfinished which meant there were insects in the room. The room was so small my head hit the ceiling and I'm only 1.65 meters tall.
When I reported the issues over the phone, I was immediately offered another room. That made it clear that they were well aware of the unacceptable conditions. The new room seemed acceptable at first, but after 10 minutes the damp smell came up and I saw that the wall had been taped off so that it covered the damp patches. But the dirtiest thing that made me immediately pack my things is when I opened the bed, there was a used plaster in it, and even used papers. This means that the sheets were simply not even looked at to be changed. The smell of the sheets also confirmed this. All this and also the hotel building made me feel very unsafe. I felt so unsafe that I didn't even take time to take pictures of the rooms. My priority was first to find something else for the next 4 nights because I definitely wouldn't stay here!
When I left I messaged them stating the situation and that I demand a refund. They told me that they had no power to do that so they asked me to contact the booking website. Booking allowed me to cancel it. But as expected later this hotel refused. Nothing but scammers they are!
- Iben (1/5): Bad -
- Hatice (8/5): Very good - Hostel was good. It was a good price as well. I can stay here again. But they could clean the rooms in a better way especially toilets.
- Steve (6/5): Pleasant - Very quiet place. Old building with narrow creaky timber stairs. I had one of the two rooms on the top deck. The room had a musty smell.
- Kevin (7/5): Generally a comfortable stay - The location was very good. I think that the check-in can be earlier. The rooms are quite small, as is the kitchen.
- Mark (7/5): Good -
- Stevic (6/5): Pleasant -
- Li (1/5): Staff are good. Consider where you stay carefully though - Convenient price. I had a lot of issues and a lot of stress. I only had 2 days in seoul, and spending a couple of hours dealing with issues here was unwanted.
Loose wires, dirty terrace, very dusty, door alarm sounding, getting locked in my room by a protruding handle blocking my door, no AC as described... all this within the first 5 minutes.
Consider where you stay carefully.
However, I did manage to reach an agreement about the situation with the staff, which was a relief.
If you are busy constantly I'm sure most wouldn't care about the property, but it caused me a lot of stress personally.
