Melissa (2/5): Stay away! - I booked this place in JANUARY, I get to the hotel Friday and they can’t find me in their system, tell me they don’t use hotels.com. Haven’t used hotels.com for a while. Their boss said sorry we don’t have anything for you. Luckily it was a pay at the property deal and they didn’t get any money from us. Luckily we went down the street and found a room, attendant told us to be glad we didn’t stay there cause the place is bad news……..
Verified traveler (2/5): Nasty Place - This was probably the worst room I have ever booked. It was so terrible that I left and didn’t stay there. First, the condition on the outside was scary. There was water leaking everywhere, trash in the parking lot and numerous stray cats wandering around. Terrible parking. Only 1 way in and out. Inside was terrible: reeked of cigarette smoke even though it was a non-smoking; roaches ran across the table; a board was rotting next to the shower. To add to it, a bay was constantly crying next door and the walls are super thin. Lastly, I tried to get my money back but they said it was unrefundable because I booked online. I argued and finally got half back. Oh, the price was outrageous to begin with. I will never set foot anywhere near the place again.
981nejih (10/5): Good - Came down to help my brother. The rooms were clean, the bed was comfy and the staff was friendly. They moved some things around so i could stay for the night. Highly suggest this place if you are on a budget.

Verified traveler (6/5): - I think there is an effort underway to improve and spruce up the inn. My room was very adequate although it could have used new sheets, blanket and bed spread and the curtain was hanging down on one end and did not cover the window completely. I was concerned when I checked in that the property might be used by hourly renters. There was a sign in the small lobby saying you had to file any complaints about your room within fifteen minutes. I could not get on line although they had signs posted about the password. I put in a call for a wake up call at 730, and I got a call at 630 with someone telling me that they had seen I requested a wakeup call but no one had written down the time. That was particularly unfortunate. I got to sleep at 12:15 but at 4:15 the people in the next room began to make a lot of noise, talking loudly, banging on the headboard at one point, and going in and out of the room banging the door each time. I finally got back to sleep around 530 and then had that most unwelcome wakeup call at 630. At that point I gave up, packed up and got on the road home. I had hoped to see old friends in Atlanta for brunch, but with an eight hour drive ahead of me even if I didn't go to Atlanta, I canceled the Atlanta plan and headed home, stopping to nap along the way - truly exhausted.

Verified traveler (2/5): - This property is in extremely poor condition and should not be offered as an option on Expedia.com. Several of the windows to the rooms were broken and covered with random signage duct taped in place. My room had a door leading to what used to be a kitchenette that is now non-functional and covered in filth. The walls were so thin that it was just as easy to hear my neighbors as it was to hear the person in the same room. The door to our room would not lock except when we were inside of it, so there was no way to safely leave our belongings in our room while we were not there. We checked out after several minutes of assessing the situation and decided that driving through the night would be safer. To describe this hotel as shady would be a compliment.

waynec509 (2/5): Greedy Price Gougers ! - We knew it wasnt going to be great but we couldn't get anything else because of the college football game on the next night which we weren't even there for. The normal rate for our room is about $80USD per night which we would have thought was fair but they charged us $235USD for the night. Just GREEEEEDY people who dont deserve to be in business !!!! Shame shame shame.

Dissatisfied (2/5): - I was to have a smoke-free room, but the room smelled of smoke. The sheets and the room were not cleaned prior to my arrival or during my stay. The room had roaches, even in the small refrigerator that was provided by the facility. The customer that a-joined my room was loud and smoked, so the noise and the smoke made sleeping difficult. The facilities, overall, were not maintained.

Quality of room and accommodations was old and beat up. Google maps indicated this motel nightly rate in the $50 range. I got caught. Don't get caught.
Wendy1107 (2/5): Yuck - Found ourselves in Athens, saw this hotel close to several restaurants, took a chance. Big mistake-only saving factor was they allowed dogs. Carpet actually appeared clean, sheets and towels in decent shape. Frig and microwave unplugged, no blanket on bed-brought our sleeping bag in as spread was gross. No hot water at night, was OK in morning. Would not go back. Mexican restaurant aroun the corner was very good.

F5720JPlesliec (2/5): GEORGIA BULLDOG GAME - This place is not fit for anybody!!! No batteries in smoke alarms. Electric wires to lamp wrapped in black tape. Sheets were not changed for sometime. Front desk was very rude and told us they were going to kick us out if we didn't stop complaining. We left on our own and lost $$ on 2 rooms. Started back to PA after a long day at football game. Georgia Bull Dawgs fans NOT this fire trap. If you value your health and life don't go there!!
arthurod2016 (2/5): Enter at your own risk ! - Very shady Hotel full of very shady people I don't know how this building passes City inspection this Motel should be avoided at all costs if you have a family with small children the smell of tobacco permeate throughout the whole building makes no difference whether you have a smoking and not smoking . The rooms cost 50 to $55 a night and they should pay you $200 a night to stay there . You've been warned .

Staff was nice and friendly, but they need to actually clean the bathrooms and beds. Random office chair in bathroom had crumbs in the seat and mild in the shower. Spend your money elsewhere
Moseby75 (2/5): This place will try to rip you off if you cancel a reservation. - I booked the motel through priceline. The price of the reservation was charged to my card immediately. After reading the dreadful reviews this place gets I cancelled the room, with several days to spare before any cancellation penalty would apply. 3 weeks passed and my card was not credited. I had to call priceline (actually booking.com) to seek help. I've been promised the refund is forthcoming, but 28 days after canceling I still don't have my money back.
Kubby-SC (2/5): They should pay me $120 to sleep here! - Awful experience! I have been to Athens, GA many times for South Carolina football games and this was by far the worst hotel I have ever experienced - and that's after staying in the old Classic Inn a time or two. Purely disgusting! When we arrived our "non-smoking" room in 202 had the door wide open to fumigate the premise. The sheets/covers were on the floor so we got to witness a "whole lot of dirty" with the bed sheets - yuck! There was a full size refrigerator in the corner that was humming along and a spilled drink of some kind on the counter space near the TV. The paint in the room is basically dried-out spackling and there is so much nicotine residue in there that a veteran smoker in their late age would have thought they had died and gone to Heaven. The bathroom had running water and a toilet that flushed. That's about the only positives to this establishment. When we returned that night we slept on the bath towels that were supplied and on top of the bedspread after spraying the room with nearly a full can of Lysol and half a bottle of Odo-Ban we bought that afternoon at Ingle's across the street. One plus is the air conditioner worked and the ice box feel at least numbed you to sleep. The next morning I showered with my socks on and a bath towel beneath my feet so I wouldn't step on the fiberglass. I will never do this again! I've stayed at European hostels and other American dumps before that should have never staked that claim as to what the Budget Host has achieved. Good luck and get your shots if you ever select this form of hotel roulette!
KMB_GA (2/5): A Last Resort - We were coming into town for G-Day and weren't sure if our friends would be available for an overnight stay. This ended up being the only hotel available. We should have just slept in the car. 2 of the 4 lights worked in our room. We tested the smoke detectors and neither worked. There were holes in the walls, doors and bathroom ceiling. The carpet had water damage and was coming up off of the floor. Weirdest of all, our sheets had the letters DB printed in permanent marker multiple times on the corners (we joke that it stood for "dead body" rather than double bed. Won't ever stay again!
906gladysg (2/5): This Place Should Be Shut Down - I booked a room on line using my CC, once I arrived at the location I asked to see the room the Desk Clerk immediately informed me that one night had already been charged to my card, I still insisted on seeing the room. I would not let an animal sleep in this place, the room did not smell or feel clean at all. I went back to the Front Desk and requested a refund because the room was unacceptable; I was told to get out. Not accepting that response I called the Police to dispatch a unit to the location, once the Police arrived the Desk Clerk suddenly wanted to talk to me. I did receive a full refund but this place is deplorable and should be shut down. AVOID THIS DUMP AT ALL COST!!!!!!
Surfrat50 (4/5): Oh my...I'm just sayin' - This might be the cheapest room in Athens but it's that way for a reason and not worth the money either. The walls in the rooms are incredibly thin - we heard every conversation outside and in the room next door and every car and truck that drove by on the Atlanta highway all night long. The towels have been washed so may times there's no absorbency. The mattresses and box springs should have been changed out many years ago as for some reason (?) they appear to have had lots of wear and tear. I can't say that the room was dirty, but it didn't smell or feel fresh at all. The sheets appeared suspect. I suppose it's like a room you might rent overseas, just not quite up to our standards. Given the choice, save your money and bring a tent to Athens.

krabstonto (2/5): This place is full of criminals - This motel is full of unfriendly people. The management thinks they can say anything about anyone. When we left we cleaned up and made up the beds and they said we took the pillows and comforters. The management at this motel will lie about anything. And call the police for no reason at all. In the office there is a hand made sign saying "DO NOT COME AT NIGHT ASKING FOR CHANGE". All these people want is to get money from anyone. I would tell anyone who asked me about this motel to never even go near it. The place needs to be closed down. It is full of people that would sell there i-pod for drugs. First she saw a roach crawling on her stuff...no big deal.. we killled it and tried to enjoy our trip. The next day she found a tick on her bed... OMG. This whole time I was fine. I get home and start itching like crazy....come to find out I got eaten up by bed bugs. A lady at my job that worked at a hotel for five years confirmed my bites. We left Athens Sunday...here it is Friday and I am still itching. This place really needs to be inspected by the health department or some body. On top of that...there were all kinds of interesting characters hanging out around the hotel. I am from Athens and I would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy. PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY.....GOING WITH THE CHEAPEST IS NOT A GOOD IDEAL IN THIS CASE. I WOULDN'T STAY HERE AGAIN IF IT WAS FREE!
garulf (2/5): One word: Cockroaches - This was the only hotel not booked up for game day in Athens that would also allow pets. Otherwise, I would never, never have stayed here. The place smelled strongly of mildew, the refrigerator wasn't working, the microwave had been burnt up, the mattress coils could be counted, the bedclothes had holes and stains, the TV went to static after five or ten minutes, the room was generally dirty, and -- most horrifying of all -- it had roaches! On the plus side, when the air conditioner died, the manager did pop in a new one right away. But, come on, roaches. No one should have to endure this place, especially at game day prices!
dawglvr (2/5): Absolutely disgusting, board of health should be notified - This is the worst place ever. We bought a tarp to go over the bed because of the disgusting smell. The bed was 3 mattresses piled one on top of the other. There had been a leak in the ceiling in the bathroom previously and during the night we heard water dripping from the ceiling above the toilet when the upstairs toilet was flushed. The smell was awful. We bought some Oust and bathroom cleaner and flip flops to walk around in. The door had plywood on the bottom and a large gap as well as a large gap around the air conditioner. Athens was completely booked due to the UGA/SC game so we had no choice but to stay. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!
LydiaGenevieve (2/5): Left In Disgust!! - This hotel was only $40 a night so we weren't expecting much but have stayed in ok hotels in Atlanta and Augusta for that much. This place was scary though, and not because it was in a bad part of town, just the rooms and the clientele looked awful. The room we got had a broken front window that was taped together and none of the lights worked. The chairs were stained with god knows what and the bathroom floor tiles were broken. The lamp shades were stained and it just smelled awful and looked like it was out of a horror movie. We asked to see another room, and it wasn't quite as bad but we pulled back the sheets and found what looked like blood stains so we got our money back and left. In the parking lot we found $10 that we used to get a better hotel room down the street.
