Guest Reviews
- 110ulio (10/5): A wonderful place to stay - It was a wonderful experience
Great room, superb breakfast and restaurants were also excellent.
Service could not be better, and finishing the day at the rooftop terrace made the day perfect.
- natt2013 (10/5): Excellent Stay at Hotel Royal - Staff provided lovely service, so kind and helpful. Comfortable beds and pillows. Adjustable aircon. Day spa service was excellent!! Thank you ladies. Rooftop bar and pool was fantastic. There is also a downstairs pool, bar, food service that we spent a whole day relaxing. The food was delicious, something for everyone, though we are the Vietnamese food. Breakfast was a broad variety of western and Vietnamese choices. They have a money exchange in the lobby. Location is fantastic. A 5/10 min walk to Old Town with food and shopping in your door step. We would definitely recommend this hotel. Well done team!!!!
- dokunki (10/5): Kim - Must-stay and must-see the rooftop views
- harleym463 (10/5): Absolutely beautiful hotel. - Beautiful location, close to the centre of everything we needed and wished to see in Hoi An. The hotel itself is beautiful and very well managed staffed and looked after, we amazing rooms and views all around. Minor construction noise was heard from the room in the layer part of our stay but the staff was accommodating and understanding and assisted with the noise.
- RAFwherever (8/5): Pleasant if not overwhelming. - The hotel is well located on the river, easily walkable into town, but far enough out to retain some element of quiet. The room was VERY spacious, comfortable, clean with good amenities. Breakfast (included) was plentiful and varied. The staff were efficient, but never really engaged, and - despite its 5-star rating - it lacked any warmth or atmosphere.
- mitchw488 (2/5): Rats - 1st visit 3 years prior Great
2nd visit 2026 - atrocious
Rats size of cats under restaurant tables and despite several attempts to complain to general manager or anyone other than poor young girl told to deal with it ... nothing from the GM - avoid
- TravelBugz777 (6/5): Nice rooms but noisy and very average breakfast - We had a deluxe grand king room on the 7th floor pretty much under the bar and pool. Very noisy as they set up and pack down each today, same with entry door so thin every nose can be heard in the hallway and cleaners start early slamming doors
Balcony is not big enough to sit on and no chairs so that’s a waste of money.
So noisy on the 7th floor pretty sure no double glazing as we can hear traffic and dogs barking late at night very early hours of the morning.
Room Pros:
Tea and coffee making provided
Bath is nice
Room is very clean
TV/ block out blinds
Laundry service is good no damage to clothes comes back within the day cost $100,000 VD per kilo. Around $5 Australian
Cons- toilet is in a confined glass room with very little leg room, I’m not a big person at all but if you are larger build it might be a squeeze.
Hotel:
Two small pools with limited beds so unless you are up early and get one no chance once the day gets started .
Roof top bar, great views, drinks are around $15Aus for a cocktail and happy hour is 6pm-7pm and 9pm-10pm so not great times. Potentially aimed while every one is out to dinner so never really got to take advantage of either.
Breakfast:
Well for a 5 star hotel this is terrible. The hotel is full of westerners yet the options of any sort of normal breakfast is poor. You can have toast, yogurt, small selection of fruit or seen most people eating cereal like fruit loops..
Otherwise it’s very fatty bacon barely any actual red on it just white fat rinds. Egg station small limited options. Or salads, cheese, meats or spicy foods for breakfast. Worst of all no fresh milk at all. For a 5 star hotel they are using UHT milk in coffee and expect you to put it in tea and it is terrible. Asked management and the chef spoke to us and said he can order it in but it goes off in 7 days that’s why they don’t… surely like every other hotel they serve hundreds of cups of coffee at breakfast alone I’m sure it would get used. Also agreed bacon was terrible quality. So we were advised breakfast would be refunded after day one and did not eat in the hotel again. However this has Not been refunded and we have been home now for near 3 weeks.
Followed up by email twice told refund will be done allow 2-4 weeks. Takes them 1 minutes to swipe my card to charge me but now no refund after 3 weeks.
Walked down to old town instead for breakfast it was cheaper at VY Deli and that was an amazing breakfast with proper coffee and fresh milk for half the cost of this hotel breakfast.
Location:
Great 3-4 minute walk straight to the end of the street and you are at the gates to old town. Everything you need is right there. Easy to get grabs and take a mini tour on a trolley bus around Hoi An.
Staff all very friendly especially housekeeping and reception.
In all this hotel needs to upgrade their sound proofing and food if they want to claim they are 5* as over $500 a night in Vietnam for a room is not the cheap end and the price should reflect the quality of both the accommodation and food.
- Compass24728307766 (10/5): Perfect for couples - Great location lovely bedrooms superb rooftop bar and swimming pool!
- Paige_M_1992 (10/5): Best honeymoon hotel - 10/10 experience! Came here for our honeymoon
- Michael2810 (10/5): Cannot go wrong here…. - Travelling as a group of 7 friends, we arrived at Hotel Royal for a five night stay. Centrally located, you could walk to most places or catch a Grab. The room was spacious and comfortable and the staff were a delight to deal with. The breakfast offering was not the best I’ve had but certainly not the worst. Laundry done promptly and easy to organise. All in all - it was a good stay and worthy of a visit. We would return.
- kipa76 (10/5): Great hospitality - Outstanding hospitality. I stayed for four nights. The hotel overlooks the river and is a short walk from the main action in Hoi An. The room was spotless and very comfortable, the AC working perfectly. Minbar is complimentary, which is a nice touch. Breakfast has lots of options, from local dishes (Cau lau) to eggs Benedict to pastries. I really appreciated the help when they arranged a shipment for me.
There are 2 swimming pools. I liked the rooftop one the most. The bar offers a buy one get one happy hour.
I would really recommend this hotel. Everyone really was helpful and kind.
- reneevA1896TV (10/5): Fabulous 4 night stay! - We loved our stay at Hotel Royal Hoi An , its was very aesthetically appealing. Also fabulous location . Great pools and rooftop bar .
- stephenj684 (10/5): Perfect 5-Star Base for Exploring Hoi An with Stunning Rooftop Views - We stayed at Hotel Royal Hoi An Gallery for three nights from 14–17 March as part of our tour of Vietnam, in a Deluxe Suite that we had specifically booked.
Our room was a spacious corner suite with a fantastic balcony, which quickly became one of our favourite spots to sit and watch the world go by. The room itself was very well designed, spotlessly clean, and extremely comfortable. The bed in particular was excellent, ensuring a great night’s sleep after long days of sightseeing.
The hotel is ideally located, just a pleasant 10-minute stroll from the centre of town, making it perfect for exploring while still offering a peaceful place to retreat to.
Breakfast each morning was extensive and high quality, and we loved sitting out on the terrace to eat. The hotel has two pools — one on the rooftop and one in the centre of the hotel. Both are beautifully maintained with very comfortable loungers. We never struggled to find space at either pool, although the rooftop pool can get busy at times.
We made a habit of visiting the rooftop bar each evening before heading into town. It’s a wonderful spot for a cocktail while watching the sunset over the town and river.
Throughout our stay, the staff were consistently professional, polite, and welcoming.
This is a very nice five-star hotel, perfectly placed for exploring Hoi An and ideal for relaxing in after a long day of sightseeing. We would happily recommend it and stay here again.
- Sasmith81 (8/5): Great rooms - service levels vary - The suite we got upgraded to was amazing.
I felt the breakfast was underwhelming and often very crowded with long queues, I would suggest potentially serving Lounge Members away from the main restaurant.
The lounge offering was great value but service was hit and miss, some staff offered some people cocktails/spirits and not others, while there didn't seem to be enough seating for lounge guests.
The two pools give you options and the cleanliness of the rooms could not be faulted.
- K9702QVcarolinep (10/5): Relaxing in the middle of Hoi An - Absolutely the hotel to be if you want to relax and yet be few minutes from the lovely and lovely Hoi An. Room was perfect and access to the executive club made our stay very special… the staff is kind and attentive. Special mention to Nga and Trinhy from the executive club… they were so kind and remembered our drinks order from one day to the other…
- _XK_ (8/5): Good location, but far from a true five-star experience - We arrived without inflated expectations, but of course we still measured the hotel against what it advertises, how it positions itself, and the price it charges. We booked the largest suite category, Deluxe Suite, for two nights.
The overall impression of the hotel is solid. It is a good base for staying in Hoi An, especially because of its proximity to the old town. At the same time, taken as a whole, it does not deliver the level we would associate with a true five-star hotel. It is not a matter of friendliness or basic willingness to help. Those were certainly there. What is missing is the consistency, quality, confidence, and attentiveness one would expect in this category.
That was noticeable from the moment of arrival. The check-in process did not feel especially polished or well organized. Breakfast also fell clearly short of what we would expect at this level. The quality was not bad, but at best adequate and in no way memorable. The fact that mineral water is charged separately at breakfast also did not feel consistent with a five-star standard. The coffee was particularly disappointing. Both the espresso and the Vietnamese coffee specialties were weak, and you can get much better coffee almost anywhere around the hotel.
We felt similarly mixed about the service overall. The staff were consistently friendly, courteous, and clearly trying to be helpful. At the same time, in many areas it felt as though there simply were not enough staff members available to deliver on the hotel’s own ambitions. At the pool, for example, there was a lack of presence and attentiveness; towels sometimes had to be handled by guests themselves, and used items were not cleared away promptly as a matter of course. We have experienced this much better in other five-star hotels across Asia.
We also visited the club lounge, which is available to suite guests, and for us it was a major disappointment. Honestly, only one word comes to mind: ridiculous. The space felt rickety, poorly maintained, musty, not clean, uninviting, and overall completely unattractive. In its current form, it adds no value at all and is more likely to frustrate guests than please them. Quite frankly, it would be better not to offer something like this at all and instead come up with a smaller but more coherent alternative. We have rarely seen anything like it.
On the positive side, the suite itself was genuinely attractive. The Deluxe Suite was visually very nice, spacious, and in principle a nice room. The major flaw, however, and the one thing that seriously affected our stay, was the almost nonexistent sound insulation. Whether the windows were open or closed made virtually no difference to the noise level in the room. The hotel sits at a intersection, and in Vietnam constant honking is simply part of daily street life. In the room, though, it felt as if you were sleeping right in the middle of that intersection. In this category, that is simply unacceptable.
During our stay there was also a multi-day funeral ceremony taking place across the river on the other side of the street. The hotel is obviously not responsible for that, and we approached it with the respect such an event deserves. What was striking, however, was how fully that noise still came through into the room. The ceremony started around 5:00 in the morning with loudspeaker announcements and tinny music and continued until late at night, so there was essentially constant, unbearable noise in the room. Music over speakers and shouting through megaphones were so present for hours at a time that it felt as though it were happening inside the hotel itself. So the real issue was not the event itself, but once again the room’s complete lack of acoustic shielding from outside. We barely slept at all on either night.
Bottom line: the Royal Hoi An Hotel is not a bad hotel. There are no major defects, and as a well-located base for Hoi An it is certainly usable. But measured against its presentation, its price point, and its five-star claim, it fell clearly short for us. The lack of sound insulation is a major weakness. Service, breakfast, the club lounge, and the overall quality also do not come close, in our view, to what one would expect from one of the leading hotels in town. So overall, this is a decent hotel in a good location, but the overall experience is far removed from true five-star quality.
- malcolmg32 (10/5): Hoi An gem. - Close to Old Town, easy walk. Wonderful hotel, spacious rooms, well appointed and very clean. Bed and pillows extremely comfortable. The hotel is reasonably priced.
- thomasoftexas (8/5): Nice but noisy hotel - Nice but not great hotel. We were “upgraded” to a very nice room, but the scooter traffic noise was specifically what I had requested to avoid. Request a room facing main pool for quieter sleep.
- jaymU7880WJ (10/5): Stay at Hotel Royal Hoi An Danang - Room was clean, spacious, and quiet. Staff helpful, especially Jane and Truc. We had a late flight, Truc anticipated our needs, and arranged a late checkout for us. Hotel is decently located and was a good value.
- Explorer01125829062 (10/5): Wonderful stay at Royal Hotel Hoi An - We had a wonderful stay at Royal Hotel Hoi An. The location is excellent—just a short and easy walk to the Old Town. Our room is comfortable with a king size bed.
I was pleasantly surprised when the hotel presented me with a cake on my birthday.
Overall, we truly enjoyed our time here and would happily recommend Royal Hotel Hoi An to anyone visiting the area.
- 966kyliee (10/5): Amazing Hoi An - Excellent from the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out. Riverview room, rooftop bar & 2 pools/breakfast buffet perfect. Surrounded by Okd Town but not noisy & within easy walking distance to the night markets/shopping & fun nightlife (especially St Patrick’s Day) ☘️
Staff helpful & friendly - very happy to please. Highly recommend - we will be back
- 981andrzejo (10/5): Hoi an 5 star hotel - Beautiful hotel, high class service. Big Roomster.
- martineK9962FD (10/5): Relaxing and enjoyable - Hotel Royal is well positioned on the edge of Hoi An old Town just a few minutes walk to all the Town has to offer.
The Hotel staff were excellent & always ready to lend a hand, the Breakfasts are tasty & filled you up for the day. Best nights sleep on a super comfy bed. We were sad to leave & would definately come & stay again, added bonus were the 2 pools & rooftop bar, great for Happy hour sunset drinks.
Thanks for a lovely stay, regards Marty.
- YorkMark (10/5): Fabulous Hotel in Great Location - We travelled around Asia for 4 weeks and stayed in some lovely hotels but this was by far our favourite one. The hotel is in a great location next to the river and a short pleasant walk to the old town. it’s a beautiful building and is immaculate throughout. Our room was huge and had everything we could need and had a lovely view of the river. Breakfast had a great choice and the quality was excellent and you could sit inside or outside. Staff were so friendly and helpful like all the people we met in Vietnam. We used their complimentary bikes one day to cycle out to the rice fields to see the Water Buffalo. They got us tickets for the Memories show which was well worth watching. We will definitely return to Vietnam and will stay at the Royal again.
- Bindiya_Murgai (10/5): Beautiful Riverside Hotel with Exceptional Service in the Heart of Hoi An - If you want a beautiful hotel right in the heart of Hoi An with the river at your doorstep, this is a wonderful place to stay.
We stayed here for three nights in March, and in my view the hotel has one of the best locations in Hoi An. It faces the river and everything in the old town is within easy walking distance, which makes exploring the town incredibly easy and enjoyable.
Before anything else, I want to give the hotel huge kudos for their kindness and professionalism. I had mistakenly booked our room for the wrong month — February instead of March — and only realized after the original booking dates had already passed and the reservation had been marked as a no-show. When I contacted the hotel to explain that it was a genuine clerical error, they were extremely kind and considerate and moved the booking to the correct dates without charging any penalty. Considering how busy the hotel is, that gesture spoke volumes and was greatly appreciated.
We stayed in the new wing in a river-facing room, which was lovely, with a small balcony and beautiful views of the river. The hotel itself is charming and also has a very good Japanese restaurant.
The welcome experience is warm and thoughtful — the staff member who checks you in personally walks you to your room and explains everything, which is a very nice touch.
The breakfast is extraordinary, with a generous and beautifully presented spread. There are plenty of freshly baked breads along with a great mix of Western and Asian options, including Vietnamese dishes — overall a really impressive selection.
The room itself was comfortable, although the bathroom design is slightly awkward, particularly because there isn’t much storage space for personal toiletries.
One practical thing to keep in mind is that river-facing rooms can be a little noisy at certain hours, since the hotel sits right in the middle of the town’s activity and the rooms are not heavily soundproofed. If possible, it’s worth requesting a room on a higher floor, where the noise tends to be less noticeable. I would also definitely recommend asking for a room in the new wing.
Having stayed in quite a few hotels across Southeast Asia, this property stands out for its location and the genuine warmth of its service.
Best for: travellers who want to stay right in the center of Hoi An with everything within walking distance.
We would happily stay here again, and thank you to the team for making our visit so comfortable.
- smin12 (10/5): A beautiful hotel with amazing staff! - We had the most fabulous few nights in this hotel. The rooms were gorgeous. The staff are what makes this hotel so special. Vy on reception was excellent - so friendly and so helpful as we were having such a nice time we decided to extend our stay.
Another highlight was the Woosah spa. I had a facial and foot massage with the lovely Thao. It was probably one of the best spa treatments I’ve ever had. Totally relaxed afterwards.
We were unlucky with the weather while in Hoi An, but between the rain showers we walked into the old town. The hotel is in a great location for this as we were in the heart of the old town in minutes.
Overall, this was a great stay at a great hotel.
- HagitBZ1972 (10/5): Excellent hotel - Great hotel, large room, service with a smile, always helpful, very close to the old town.
- GoPlaces43874112923 (10/5): Excellent hotel - Beautiful hotel, lovely staff and food
Central and short walk to old hoi an
Highly recommend
Miss vy very helpful
- petervU1346BU (10/5): Very Professional and helpful team - Very Professional hotel Management. We had issues with recent booking which wasn't caused by the hotel and the staff went above and beyond to help resolve when they didn't have to, as it wasn't their fault, it was caused by the issue in the emirates . I will definitely book my next trip with this hotel.
- Mariadeffy (10/5): Beautiful boutique hotel in old town - I had a wonderful stay at the Royal Hotel Hoi An. My river view room was absolutely beautiful and very relaxing. The location is perfect—just a short walk to the Old Town, which made exploring Hoi An so easy and enjoyable.
I also really enjoyed the spa, which was a great way to relax during my stay. The room service was excellent, the breakfast had a good variety, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming throughout my visit.
Overall, it was a very comfortable and pleasant experience, and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Hoi An
- jarkkot715 (10/5): Birthday holiday - Excellent hotel! Beautiful room, very good service, nice pool areas. Superb breakfast!
- 794danar (10/5): Bicycle tour of the area - Stayed her two nights. The room was great, bathroom clean, noise level minimal.
- B780LLsarahr (10/5): Totally recommend this hotel! - Excellent hotel!! Amazing facilities and fantastic staff, friendly but very professional. Breakfasts are delicious- anything you want to eat is available! Would definitely come back again.
- deborahjG9833SV (10/5): Great Hotel - Excellent location. Lovely hotel. Would definitely recommend. Rooms great size. Comfortable beds.
- N2423MWgurpreets (10/5): Brilliant - An excellent place to stay if visiting Hoi An, magnificent and opulent Hotel with amazing on site facilities. Room was wonderful and probably the most comfortable bed you could sleep in throughout Vietnam! Breakfast buffets in Faifoo Room were delicious and the hotel reflects Vietnamese-Japanese heritage. Located in a prime location for walking distance exploration of the main attractions and riverside. Small touches from the hotel such as surprise evening treats of home baked pastries and chocolates were much appreciated. A wonderful place to stay and highly recommended. A big thank you from Amy & I! Gammon!
- S6094FBdebw (10/5): Amazing ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Amazing 5 star hotel, staff are great! Location is brilliant, easy to walk around.
Everything about hotel was exceptional. Would highly recommend this hotel⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
- derryw2015 (10/5): Royal Hoi An Gardens Central Hoi An - Fantastic service from arriving to cleaning to pool and dining area - everyone was so helpful and friendly.
The hotel is in a great area of Hoi An and has a sister hotel by the beach which we were allowed to use their facilities.
Overall a fantastic stay and would recommend highly
Oh and the rooftop bar and pool are amazing for views of Hoi An and a quiet drink
- Takemeaway173 (2/5): Disgusting dirty bed - this hotel is a health risk - I was honestly disgusted by my stay here. i booked a Royal deluxe king with executive lounge access having researched all local hotels this seemed the best despite it not having Accor connections anymore, now i know why, im sure Accor terminated the association.
My room at first seemed to be pleasant enough, a little dark and a tad musty in smell and the view of the river was okish looking away from Hoi An but it was large with had a nice little balcony. However, on the first night when i got into bed i suddenly noticed the most horrible stench, it only took me a little sniff to realise it was the bed itself, it stank of poo. I immediately phoned reception who said dont worry we will change the sheets, hummm that wouldn't fix the problem as it was the bed and honestly i waited 15 minutes (bear in mind it was 11pm and i wanted to go to sleep) and no one came so i plodded on down to reception in my pjs to complain, all i got was sorry and do you want a different room instead, yes please... so i got the same style room the other side of the building.. now at 11pm i was a little miffed to then have to move all my stuff myself over and it wasn't a room next door and was offered nothing in a way of an apology (something im sorry a supposedly 4 star hotel would offer on such a serious health risk). I at least expected a sorry about that when i checked out but no nothing, and honestly that left me wondering how clean if at all any of the rooms were.
- 89ornao (10/5): I love it - Great location in the old city
Well atmosphere
Big room
Good value for money
- NYCtraveler417 (10/5): Nice hotel, good location - My friends and I stayed here over New Year’s and had an enjoyable visit. The hotel staff was friendly and made the check-in / check-out process very easy. The hotel is located in a safe area along the water, very convenient to restaurants, coffee shops, and shopping.
- stephaniewD2472JQ (10/5): Lovely stay in Hoi an - Lovely stay at the Royal. Nice room, breakfast & we enjoyed having use of the Wyndham hotel facilities at the beach.
- trangdox (10/5): Beautiful stay in the heart of Hoi An - Beautiful experience from check in to check out. Customer service was impeccable and the intercontinental breakfast was excellent! The room was spacious and facilities were great too! I would come back in a heart beat
- Thankful_momma (10/5): Enjoyable stay at Hotel Royal Hoi An - A lovely and comfortable stay at Hotel Royal Hoi An. Stayed for 5 nights. Excellent buffet break. Stay were friendly and attentive. Great location, easy walk to Old Town, many restaurants, cafes, shops and an abundance of tailors for those interested in custom made clothes. Free shuttle to/from Danang Airport at set times. Small fitness room and two pools which weren’t overly busy. We used the billiards table once which was fun. Also free shuttle twice a day to/from beachfront sister property. Gorgeous views from our balcony overlooking the river and city. Large rooms. Great value.
- hermonan (10/5): Excellent - Excellent hotel in all categories. Central location, short walk to the old city. Amazing design. Large and very comfortable room overlooking the river. Exceptional service. Great breakfast. We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel.
- paulinew474 (8/5): Nice hotel, great location to Old Town although karaoke singing can be heard - Lovely hotel. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. We had a great view from our hotel room. Our room was always clean and the bed was so comfortable! We could access the executive lounge at no extra cost which was a nice surprise and the high tea was delightful.
We had a foot massage and I had a pedicure at the hotel which was awesome!
Breakfast was great with many varieties, we totally enjoyed!
Hotel is close to Old Town so was great to visit every night for meals.
Only issue with the location of the hotel was that it is surrounded by karaoke bars so for the Friday and Saturday nights we stayed, you will have to endure interesting singing until 10pm (seem to be when they stop). Singing was not a little loud, it's like soo loud even our TV couldn't drown them out 🤣 Apart from this, was a lovely stay!
- jrd537 (10/5): Elegance in hotel service - The Hotel Royal Hoi An is the most beautiful and welcoming hotel that we ever stayed at.
The staff are extremely helpful especially Nguyen ( spelling ??) at the concierge front desk.
The rooms are elegant and huge ! The hotel is located in walking distance to the old Quarter ( market) and where the lantern boats are located. The breakfast has a great variety of different food and so enjoyable in the courtyard.
Comfortable beds and bedding, the entire hotel is spotless in cleanlines.
- douglasbI7938QZ (10/5): A Pause From The Relentless Horror of Hoi An - The manager is omni present and caring of the product - clear in overall cleanliness and high standards. The rest of Hoi An is a hell hole of rude, pestering street sellers and restaurants peddling ant inhabited dishes, reached via roads surging with horrible traffic users.
- FarAway57771553360 (8/5): Stunning architecture and excellent lounge service, despite minor hiccups - Hotel Royal Hoi An is one of the most convenient places to stay for visiting the Old Town. The staff are incredibly friendly, and the service at the Executive Lounge was particularly outstanding. The elegance and beauty of the wooden architecture rival that of any famous luxury hotel.
However, there are a few things to keep in mind. Although the welcome food was a nice gesture, it was unfortunately covered in ants. Also, don’t expect the promised "welcome service" with a placard at the airport. That said, they are punctual with the pick-up time, so just wait calmly and they will arrive. Excluding these minor details, it is truly a wonderful hotel.
- TooTiee123 (10/5): Good Experience - The Hotel is really good. So, Delicious breakfast. And the room is very beautiful and comfortable. The Staffs are friendly.
- erickR2003NM (10/5): Helpful staff - Please thank your reception staff member Vy. She was exceptionally helpful and patient with me in helping me . She was a 5 ⭐️ . Regards, Eric in room 523
- 75huyend (10/5): Helpful staff, good breakfast, great location - Super helpful staff! Breakfast is good and the hotel have new disk everday. We booked the superior room we are offered free Executive longue everyday, which is a big plus. We can enjoy really good food and drink from 5PM.
Location is also great, not too far from the center old town, we can walk in 5-10 mins.
- 928heif (10/5): Amazing staying experience! - The staffs here are knowledgeable and very friendly, ensuring all my needs are addressed here. The hotel itself is within close walk to the old town, just a nice 10mins walk.
- MikevanderHeijden (10/5): Our favourite hotel in Hoi An - Simply amazing hotel.. great staff, big clean rooms and the location couldn’t be better for exploring Hoi An. If you want to stay near the Old & Ancient town, you don’t get better than here!
- Traveler46532734530 (10/5): The best hotel we staid in viet nam - We had a great time. Very nice hotel. Comfortable room. Very good breakfast. We will came again. Good and helpfull stuff allwais with smile
- dalelewis2021 (10/5): great place - super very good. great place to stay

- 254allenak (10/5): Amazing stay - Amazing experience at Hotel Royal. Truc and the FO team made sure I had everything I needed during my stay and gave me suggestions for tailors and activities. Would definitely recommend the hotel.
- ricardoes14 (10/5): Best pool in Hoy An. - We had a lovely stay here just before Xmas. Celebrated my wife’s birthday and the hotel couldn’t have been more helpful in organising a cake and some birthday surprises. Gorgeous swimming pool.
- HDC26 (10/5): Reception staff was really great - It was amazing staff.
My son has sudden pain and some mental problems.
The receptionist was welcomed with all their heart. Despite their dedication, he was able to heal immediately. This is, without a doubt, the best hotel in Hoi An, not in all Vietnam. I highly commend the reception staff. Their names are VY & FO team. This is real hospitality of Vietnam 🇻🇳
- ronkG4460VL (10/5): Wonderful hotel, exemplified by excellent staff - A truly excellent time at the Hotel Royal Hoi An.
The room was comfortable and well presented and kept spotless by the cleaning staff. The food was well presented and tasty. Serving staff were excellent.
The whole atmosphere was tremendous, led by the staff, every one of whom we met was friendly and helpful
The staff were, without doubt exceptional, illustrated by the way one of the reception staff, Vi, went above and beyond in order to help us with a problem.
I can thoroughly recommend this hotel.
- michellewV5367JS (10/5): Excellent hotel in a perfect position to enjoy Hoi An - We stayed 4 nights in Hoi An Hotel Royal just over a month after their worst floods. The hotel has done a fantastic job getting back to normal and do a fantastic job looking after guests.
- Tourist442871 (10/5): Amazing hospitality, beautiful accomodation - Trung & FO team the best - ask for THAO in the spa - get the Whoosha Massage this was the best I have ever had any where in the world
- sydneyy178 (10/5): Lovely stay - We stayed as a part of our honeymoon. The room was nice and clean with a beautiful view. The staff was absolutely lovely and very helpful. The location was great, we were able to walk to most places we wanted to go
- MissKissSydney (10/5): Lovely hotel in Hoi An.. great location and service - Lovely hotel.. lovely people..shout out to Trung at reception and Luong at the bar.. going to rooftop is a must and executive lounge is a lovely offering. Thank you
- ShaymaaSSD (10/5): Comfortable Riverside Stay at Hotel Royal Hoi An Gallery - I recently stayed at Hotel Royal Hoi An Gallery and overall had a very good experience.
The rooms are beautiful and spacious, especially the ones with a balcony overlooking the river, those are definitely worth booking if available. The interior feels fresh and well-maintained, as if the rooms have been recently renovated, which adds a nice modern touch while still keeping a boutique feel.
The location is excellent: the hotel is away from the noise and crowds of the Ancient Town, yet still within easy walking distance. You can enjoy some peace and quiet at the hotel and then reach the heart of Hoi An in just a short walk.
The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the service is excellent overall. They are attentive and welcoming, which really adds to the experience.
The only real downside for me is the elevator access to the guest rooms. To reach the elevator, you have to walk through the hotel restaurant, and the kitchen smells can be quite strong and a bit unpleasant as you pass through.
Aside from this point, I genuinely recommend staying at Hotel Royal Hoi An Gallery, especially if you choose a river-view balcony room.

5/5 – Exceptional Front Desk Service
I had a wonderful experience and should out to outstanding front desk team. All staff gave a warm warm welcome and incredibly professional. Check-in was quick and seamless, and they were always ready to help with anything I needed—whether it was local recommendations, transport arrangements, or just a friendly chat after a long day exploring Hoi An.
Their attention to detail and genuine care for guests truly made my stay memorable.
Hotel and location was excellent
- suetpengl2025 (10/5): Most satisfied hotel that I have ever stayed - The most satisfied hotel that I have ever stayed. Strategic location, quiet room, and impressed about Vy’s service . She is friendly and helpful indeed . Transportation from airport to hotel, bicycle rental, massage & spa and also Ao dai complimentary use for hotel guest .
- cimmas2018 (10/5): Sweet Hoi An Stay - We loved our stay at Hotel Royal Hoi An. The hotel felt perfect for our honeymoon. Every team member we met was kind and helpful. Ms. Hiep and Mr. Minh were fantastic. They went above and beyond and made sure we were comfortable throughout our stay. They answered our questions about Hoi An and our travel plans.
We stayed for 5 nights. We requested shuttle service from Da Nang Airport to the hotel, which was very smooth and easy. The nightly turndown service was wonderful, the bed was heavenly. And if you’re feeling adventurous, the free hotel bike rentals are a fun way to see Hoi An!
The breakfast buffet offered a good range of options and helped us start our mornings well. We recommend Hotel Royal Hoi An and look forward to our next visit.
- arayam2017 (10/5): A great place to stay in Hoi An - Great room, location, breakfast, amenities and staff. We didn’t have any issues at all. The front desk staff, especially Mr. Minh was very helpful, efficient and always available.

- sophiecR7746PI (10/5): A fantastic end to our trip in Vietnam - Thank you for a great experience at the Hotel Royal Hoi A Hotel. Good location, delicious breakfast and lovely staff. Highly recommend. The pool is gorgeous too and there are some gym facilities.
- coolhead_warmheart99 (10/5): ホイアンに泊まるならここ - The lobby and guest rooms were clean, luxurious, and filled with a pleasant fragrance.
We stayed for two nights, and each day we received complimentary mineral water and fresh fruit, and the drinks in the minibar were also free.
The Executive Lounge offers a wonderful view, where you can enjoy afternoon tea as well as alcoholic beverages in the evening.
Breakfast is served buffet-style, featuring not only Vietnamese cuisine but also Chinese dishes.
There is also a spa, and we were able to relax with an aroma oil massage.
All the staff were kind and welcoming, and in particular, Mr. Hiep at the front desk was exceptionally helpful.
In addition to taking care of our check-in and check-out, he kindly assisted us with various questions and requests.
Although the hotel is close to the old town, it is pleasantly removed from the noise, allowing us to enjoy quiet and peaceful nights.
- Scottlindsay1 (10/5): Great place to stay - Great place to stay. Great food, beautiful rooms & super close to Old Town. Totally recommend staying here.
Would definitely stay again
- 973charlesd (10/5): A great choice of Hotel - An excellent hotel in the centre of town. easy walk to the local sites and activities. the evening life is amazing with the stalls, river and restaurants close. the hotel is very comfortable - good to get a balcony view. great breakfast. 2 good swimming pools with one on the roof. staff very friendly. hope to be back
- Departure49428129060 (10/5): hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, room was clean and comfortable. in a good location, very walkable to shops - hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, room was clean and comfortable. in a good location, very walkable to shops.
- brigittemS1617WA (10/5): Wonderful stay at the Hotel Royal Hoi An - We had a fabulous stay at this beautiful property. All of the colleagues were ever so helpful and kind making sure our stay was memorable. Roof topand executive lounge certainly some of the highlights. Thank you to all of the team! We will certainly visit again
- jaketa0 (10/5): Great hotel in great location - Out 1 night stay at Hotel Royal was great, perfect location to wanted straight out onto the river and explore the pretty town. Truc and the SFO team were super friendly and helpful.
- gracekI4592IQ (10/5): Excellent stay. - We are returning guests and Royal Gallery never disappoints. Great breakfast buffet, service and beautiful rooms. The location can't be better.
- crystalhA3825RE (10/5): Perfect location with great staff - Perfect location to visit the Ancient Town, it’s about less than 5 min walk away. The staff were attentive and helpful. They gave us recommendations for food, money exchange, and transportation. Room was frequently cleaned and tidied up. Breakfast buffet, the staff also were super attentive in making sure you have coffee and plates were cleared away. Transportation to and from airport is free but you have to scheduled it in advanced.
- 555raqueli (10/5): Very cosy hotel in Ho ian - Very good hotel, location, atmosphere, room. Special remarks for Vy at the reception and the Desk root toop cocktails and attention.
- reginagF6128PA (8/5): Great location near the Night Market - The hotel was beautiful and everyone was very kind. Great location and near the night market! We stayed for one night only.
- _M4527QY (10/5): Nice experience - Clean room, Good breakfast, Nice reception stuff Everything good!!!!!!!
thank you for Truc & FO team!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- choic318 (10/5): The meun on room service - It was so charming hotel .
But be careful when you stay next booking time. The beautilful rooftop swimming cannot be use when someone has pool party.
One more thing , i used room service
The menu was pork rib with Kimchi.
I am Korean it is not kimchi.
It should have written Vietnamese kimchi.
It needs to change.
As Korean it was a bit confused and distorted the Kimchi image.
I also ordered because of the letter kimchi.
Please change the words Vitenamese Kimchi. Have a look my photo , it is kimchi they said.
Last one , the shower had was all steel.
When i use hot water, i might get burn on my hands.
And the other things are perfect stay for me.
- Andy_achra (10/5): excelling in comfort - All excellent - luxurious - friendly, welcoming, helpful staff always there to greet and suggest what next. Strongly recommend
- 412lins (10/5): Exceptional staff! - My husband and I stayed here during our honeymoon in October 2025. We stayed during the huge flooding. The staff were incredibly thoughtful and caring, ensuring we had safe transport via boats to and from drier areas to shop, and also to their sister hotel who took us in when the Royal’s lobby got flooded.
The staff were exceptional - everyone from front desk, sushi restaurant, breakfast staff, men who carried our luggage to and from our room, and the women at the spa (Thanh, Nhi, Thao). We felt taken care of during the flooding and thank the wonderful staff for that. Thank you so much!
- 180gilla (10/5): Nice hotel in a fantastic location - Lovely hotel, nice room but annoying layout of the toilet. We are slim people however the toilet cubicle within the open plan bathroom was tiny making it a challenge to use! The restaurant was good and the staff were excellent both in the restaurant and generally in the hotel. The hotel is in a brilliant location for the ancient quarter of Hoi An, placed on the edge of the river. We loved Hoi An and would definitely recommend this hotel.
- victornedergaardm (10/5): Good hotel - Nice hotel, good staff and restaurants.
The breakfast is very good and Lots to choose from! So Nice. The japanere restaurant is also very good fresh food and fish
- 23Trish2017 (10/5): Amazing Stay! - We booked a three generational stay for our family and everything about this hotel was perfect! Before arriving, they had pre-arranged for all three rooms to be on the same floor across the hall from one another despite us having booked a few different category types. The Front Office team was terrific and was even able to get us into the rooms well before check-in time.
Location can't be beat! We walked and could explore everywhere we wanted to see because it is right on the edge of the ancient city. We also appreciated the amenities the hotel offered even though we weren't there long enough to utilize them all. The staff at the pool, the restaurant and the handling the bags and loaning out umbrellas couldn't have been kinder. All employees are well trained, but more than that, it is apparent that everyone truly wants to do anything they can to make your stay comfortable and memorable. This will definitely be a hotel we will come back to if we make it back to the area- it was a perfect choice!
- O2093ERmegana (10/5): Amazing Hotel - Hotel Royal was amazing. Best buffet breakfast we have had. Beds were big and comfortable. Service was amazing ! We will be back

- zacharybL4544YL (10/5): Fantastic hotel with great amenities, food and service! - Beautiful hotel in a great location. Staff were fantastic, service and food all amazing. Look forward to coming back and have recommended to lots of friends. Thank you!
- debraaA3633MH (10/5): A great place to stay - Great location
Friendly and helpful staff
Excellent food
Beautiful hotel rooms.
Lots to do within the hotel, swimming pools, bars, shopping, gym and more
- fracellac2024 (10/5): Best experience - The hotel staff are very nice and accommodating. During check-in they will give you a map of Hoi An. So you dont have a problem going to different places. And The hotel is just walking distance from Hoi An Old Town so no need to ride a car/motorbike.
I celebrated my birthday here in Hoi An and during breakfast the hotel staff surprised me with a birthday cake. Breakfast is also good! They have a lot of varieties and its so good. Will visit again next time! 🫶🏻
- oliviac589 (10/5): Clean, convenient location, great service, and lovely spa. - The service here outshines many hotels I've stayed at. The staff are helpful and kind. I had an amazing stay here for 5 nights in the Executive Suite. The pools are well kept and clean as were our rooms. The spa here named "Woosha" was also lovely, Thahn welcomed and assisted us booking our massages. She was very helpful and attentive to our needs. My masseuse was
Thao and she was amazing! The location is very convenient! Breakfast was also very tasty.
- Navigate24742600632 (10/5): Hoi An - A Royal Experience - It was indeed a great stay in Hotel Royal Hoi An. We will definitely come back in this hotel. Room was awesome. Near the Old Town. Nice buffet breakfast. Nice and awesome staff ❤️
- Meander04321224556 (10/5): Perfect choice to stay in Hoi An - Hotel Royal Hoi An - Gallery is in the perfect location in Hoi An . Close to restaurants and cocktail bars, without any noise entering your room. Excellent staff, so helpful with local information and advice on things to do during your stay, including bicycles. The ground floor pool is a spacious sanctuary welcome dip at the end of your day. Roof top bar has incredible cocktails. Lots of seating including the 2nd pool area with long distance views. Rooms were more like suites, spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. Would highly recommend.
- S653FXdavidh (8/5): Good massages - It's worth noting that star systems don't necessarily align between countries, and unlike some of the five star hotels we stayed elsewhere in Vietnam, in our opinion this by international standards was a bit inconsistent - on balance more like a good four star in terms of facilities and service. The rooms were comfortable though, as with reception, the decor quite overbearing and consequently dusty in parts. Service lacked polish but all the staff were friendly. Rooftop bar extremely overpriced outside happy hour (the most we paid anywhere in Vietnam). Breakfast was good. Massage fantastic, I recommend Hoa/Flower.
- D69BUnatalieh (8/5): Excellent value - Excellent location. Near all the activity but just far enough out of the fray to be a bit more relaxing. Staff very helpful and pleasant. Clean and lovely amenities. We did not use the restaurants but the breakfast buffet had plenty of western and eastern options. Excellent value.
- Relax46118949887 (10/5): Family’s anniversary - Room is so nice and large, last night we enjoyed good time at executive lounge ,breakfast so wonderful because a lot of yummy foods. Will comeback Royal hotel soon
- Boydradford (10/5): Hoi An - The hotel is very nice and the staff are very nice and helpful. The breakfast is is wonderful. The selection of foods is a lot. The food quality is very good. We are looking forward to our remaining two days at this hotel!
