• Suman (10/5): - Mayfair is an excellent place to stay in Rourkela. The room is quite large and very comfortable. Bathroom is really impressive in size and amenities. Although I have not dined there this time, I had dinner a couple of times in the past and the food was excellent. I am very impressed and Mayfair will be my choice every time I visit Rourkela.

• Poonam (5/5): Passable - Ambience & Abundance of Greenery in the campus. Online Price was a good deal for a nights stay. Checkin was smooth. Their Bakery & Chaat counter was good though a bit pricey. Having stayed at their other properties - this one is just a bit over the standard norms... considering this is the 1st Mayfair property. Room was not bright enough even during the daytime but understandable due to greenery. So the Mosquitoes too were abundant in the room. Room was big enough but nothing great. *My order for a Grilled Chicken Sandwich was Over over priced for just Two large slices of Bread + a 5/- Uncle chips pack ?? had to Pay a Bill of 525Rs. for this - Really felt cheated !

There was a swimming pool, billiards room, gym and library cum lounge section, all of which were nice. I think the hotel is an older property. At least the room I was staying in needs some sort of renovation. TV was attached to the mirror which was dark in many spots.

Overl the property looks dated and could do well with a bit of facelift (like no sofa even for the premium room). Dining menu was very much overpriced.

Poori, Paratha upma were served hot. Staff did not bother to introduce us to swimming pool or billiards. They asked us to leave within 20hrs, even though the check out timing was 24hrs

• Mohanty (8/5): Very good - We stayed for two night in rooms (104&105). Enjoyed overall stay with the refreshing landscape, well maintained flora and the overall ambience. However, would like to give feedback for improvements: The decor of room : below expected standards - there are several rust areas on the mirror at several places ( room no 104). Restroom: water from bath room shower spills over to the entire bath room floor. Separation should have dam built up (room nos. 104 & 105). Food & breverages : very good Service : very good ( very polite & well intentioned staff ) but in my view, still below an exceptional level of service for a 5 star hotel due to following reasons: 1. Fine dining training issue: experienced during dinner ( 2 nights ) , the waiter does not find an extra chair for the table meant to be for 4. We have to find the adjacent char and align it to suit our purpose. 2 Fine dining training issue: Plates are not served at exactly the correct positions. In addition, the soiled plates at the extreme ends are not pick up, rather asked to be passed on to them. 3.Fine dining training issue: The drinking glasses are not regularly topped up with water. 4. The dining tables are are placed too close to each other. The tables should be spaced apart for privacy and comfort. On Saturday night dinner, it felt like a fish market. In my view, the intention should not be to accommodate as many guests as possible, but to create a world class dining experience.

• VINIT (8/5): Quality Stay in Rourkela - hotel mayfair is probabbly the best place to stay, in the city of rourkela. I visiteD the mayfair hotel (and for that matter, the rourkela city) after a gap of approximately eleven years and found that there some changes in the construction and apparently a lot of activities have occurred during this period to provide a facelift to the hotel. the hotel mayfair (rourkela) does not have many rooms and there are probably less than fifty rooms overall. one has to be careful while booking the rooms as some of the packages do not include breakfast. Besides, one can get a good deal by booking single occupancy which comes at quite attractive price. the swimming pool is very beautiful with a regular stream of water flowing into it. the depth of pool is not more than 4.5 feet. also, there is a billiards room which remain open for most of the day. restaurant is located near the entry and is very well maintained. a lot of variety (local as well as international cuisine is available) is on offer. I used the restaurarant only for buffet breakfast. Besides, ther is a small restaurant near the entrance which is mostly for fast food / snacks, but normally, south indian food is readily available, and other variety is hard to find during early ghours (on some days, breakfast was not included in my package, and I too my breakfast in the snacks restaurant). the bathroom amenities offerred by the hotel are of reasonably good quality ( whether the shaving kit or the dental kit or other items.
