Guest Reviews
- MARISA (10/5): A life changing experience - Luxury experience in Masai Mara with so many highlights.
- Game Drives with our tour guide Daniel who has the Silver Guide Award and brought us incredibly close to the animals. It was a true adventure ! He and his support guide Julius were very kind and helpful with our 5 year old
- The tents were gorgeous and our butler Daniel provided exceptional service with so many small surprises and touches that made it luxurious including laundry for 3 items per person returned in a few hours and pressed as well as warmed beds and chocolates. The rooms were so clean and there weren’t any bugs. The morning wake up service with tea, coffee and hot chocolate were special too! Daniel tidied the rooms 3 times a days and was done in a flash we didn’t know how he did it
- The cocktails were delicious and Solomon our bartender took so much care and passion in making something new or sharing his favourite cocktails. Again he was so kind with our son and was very attentive
- Food was delicious ! 4 courses per meal and our waiter Alfred remembered all the things we liked. Nothing was too much trouble for him and he always had a smile on his face
- Board games, telescope, lounge area, fire pit at night were all good fun.
- The hot towels upon return from a game drive
- The hippos across the river and their wake up calls. Bring earplugs if you like to sleep in but it was amazing
- Responsive booking team Judy and Sharon
- The Maasai run 4km up the mountain which is included
- The river walk with a Maasai warrior was an adventure also included in the price
- The animals near the camp hippos, zebras, lions, birds, buffalo, gazelle, giraffes, elephants
- Trip to the Rhino sanctuary which is extra but worth the trip to see 2 White Rhinos
We were eating lunch one day and the team spotted a lion across the bridge so we ran across, jumped into a car and John who was a Guide began following the lion and we found it ! It was so exciting.
- Tarek (8/5): It was lovely and we made the best of it but the camp is overpriced for what you get in return. - The staff was absolutely wonderful! The food portions were TINY and the meals were absolutely tasteless. I would expect more from a 5 star hotel. Also they don’t have amenities that you would expect from a hotel like this at that price point. We’re talking no coffee in the rooms, and no shaving kit. Also the camp is quite far from the gates for the game drives so expect spending a lot of time on the road.
- Andhika (10/5): Exceptional - Staff are amazing people, from Sharon who patiently caters to our requests, Daniel who is a very good guide, Gibson with impeccable service, and ofcourse Mr John himself, they treat us like a family. Food was also nice, the shower water was very hot and nice, and internet was super fast in our room.
We also got hippos serenading every night and the sound of river and friendly dikdiks right in front of our room. The location is about 30 mins from the gate entry, but you will get access to river with hippos, the sound of moving river, and crocodiles, so it's not a minus and a pretty good trade off.
- Diana (10/5): I have no words! :) - I can say that my expectations were exceeded in every aspect. The staff are some of the kindest people I have ever met and most of them have been working from the time the Camp was established and I believe that says a lot about the workplace. The tents are amazing. They pay so much attention to detail. Got woken up with hot tea everyday for early safari drivers and meals were packed accordingly. There was extra attention to my meal preference although it is from a set menu. Lunches by the lake were special. The best of all were my game drives with the guide - Daniel. I got to see all the animals on the first day itself and it was surreal, he was patient and flexible.
Had a best massages at the spa. One of the afternoons were spent relaxing by the pool.
A huge shout out to Daniel, Robert, Elphas, Sharon and Rose(masseuse). It was truly a different world and the best kind! As a solo traveller, I felt so safe and well taken care of and this is one of the best stays I have every had. I travel quite and bit and felt the customer service here was outstanding. none
- Shane (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alan (10/5): - The staff is excellent and very friendly
- Sherali (8/5): - Very friendly staff. Resort was good. Food was average.
- Christina (10/5): Amazing experience - We had a wonderful stay at Neptune Rianta. The accommodation was perfect, beautiful tented accommodation overlooking the river, woken by hippos every morning. The staff were outstanding, friendly and efficient, in particular, Daisy our wonderful waitress, Daniel our friendly butler and Daniel our masai safari guide who was incredibly knowledgeable and exceeded our expectations in every way. Daniel ensured we found every animal, providing us with detailed information and was so much fun to be with!
- Ashraf (9/5): We enjoyed alot the nice facilities and staff. Wonderful Bosch dinner! Services were flexible and customisable! - Facilities is very nice and staff being so responsive and nice Food and beverage were ok but limited options
- Annette (10/5): A very special place - We loved the outstanding service and beautiful setting of the property.
Very skillful staff and relaxing surrounding.
We had a most wonderful stay, thank you, especially to Daniel and Gibson. The distance to the main park was too far. But from the Camp you can see a lot of wildlife coming to the river shore.
- Mp007 (1/5): its not a 5 star - location is good , staff in general is very accommodating but they have limited options NO wifi in the room , Water pressure is pathetic, it takes a lot of time to take a shower , water quality is bad , very hard water .It's an all inclusive hotel but you will end up starving , better to carry some snacks , Food availability and portion sizes are sad .
i almost cried seeing chef's face when my wife asked chicken roll from the snacks menu
also no basic 5 star amenities in the room even though its supposed to be a 5 star camp , no kettle etc . Toilet area looks like a public toilet .
we went in November , it takes almost 30 min to get warm dripping water from tap
- Steve (10/5): - Beautiful setting. Wonderfully friendly staff. Would recommend to anyone looking to visit the Masa Mara.
- Jackline (8/5): Very good -
- Leyla (10/5): Wonderful! - The property is great! Amenities. Staff. Very well accomplished! The games drives…. Ufff exceptional. A couple of things to improve:
1. Nonbreakable wine glasses should be used instead of metal glasses for the beverages sent for the game drives.
2. It does take 1 hour to the Mara National park. So it’s a bit far.
- Shawn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bikash (10/5): Daisy took good care of us and Peter ensured that we see all the animals during the game ride. - location, service, food quality
- Vittoria (6/5): Avoid the adventure trek - The location is stunning and you can dine looking at the hippos. The attention to detail is also amazing. They warm up the bed before bedtime, provide a free laundry service for 3 items per person, they are always very attentive. The adventure trek is a rip-off. They sold it to us as an amazing thing that you have to absolutely do when you are there and it said on the program it lasted 3 hours. I asked the receptionist what we would see during the trek and they told us we would see lots of animals.
We paid $700 for a walk of not even 2 hours and we saw absolutely nothing apart from 2 elephants from very far away. The view was also quite standard and nothing too special.
- Martin (9/5): Superb - It was a very good stay and excellent service. The check-in, bar, wait staff and butler were all top notch. Food was good. It was wonderful to be there in the low season. I couldn't put out of my mind the environmental impact of some aspects of the accommodation. Perhaps that is part of going to a fragile natural area (and perhaps hypocritical of me). Yet, I think there are some simple changes the camp could do - such as get rid of single use plastics, use only biodegradable cleaning products and better protect the surrounding river basin - to improve. There is a plan to expand over the river, where the hippos live, which will certainly affect that habitat.
- Winnie (9/5): Superb -
- Gunnar (10/5): Outstanding - We stayed for two nights, we had such a wonderful time. It started already with the transport from the airstrip, it was a real safaritour on the way to the hotel. Ben driving and guiding! Lunch in the garden at arrival with so many Hippos as neighbours was really something amazing. Big luxury tent with all you need, including a wake up with tea or coffee! Then to the breakfast.
Outstanding service from the whole team but especially from Sharon, Ben, Robert and Elphas. They made our stay unforgettable.
Great food and the location at Mara River with all the Hippos, gave us so great memories. We would love to come back.
- ASADUZ (10/5): - Best place to be arround masai Mara. Their location, service and food is a A . People there are so loving and caring. Best luxury tent experience. Will definitely visit again. Highly recommended.
- Ann (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marjorie (8/5): Very good -
- Patricia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Senior (7/5): Good -
- Aaron (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing safari camp on the Mara river. The lodge was perfect, our guides, waiter, butler and all of the team at neptune provided exceptional service.
- Jacob (10/5): wonderful moment in time - Atmosphere was relaxed but highly professional. All staff went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible; all did extra with a smile.
- Anonymous (7/5): Great Safari stay, in a high potential camp! - Staff is really good and many of them went extra mile like the chef Michael, the waiter Peter, Moses the butler, and Bartenders. just to name a few.
Great Location as well.
Good food and good All Inclusive package. Nepture Mara Rianta is really a good camp with great potential. unfortunately it is very badly managed. Owners are saving on services which supposed to give this place the luxury tag they put on its name. Evening Masai Entertainment was cancelled, therefore evenings were boring without any other entertainment and ended up after diner. Access to games at conservatory around the hotel was denied to us because owners want to save a few USD$ per room per month fees. Games 4x4 vehicles were not equipped with CB-Radio, which is mandatory for safety in case of emergency, and very useful to exchange with other vehicles while on game ride...non comfy mattresses,, etc.. many of such small savings which are more annoying than pleasant for guests. I hope this will improve in the future for good sake of guests and employees, otherwise better this place is taken over by new owners, more customer conscience!
Service parfait. Le déjeuner en compagnie des hippopotames. Très dur de repartir
- Papiya (10/5): Excellent place for family. Will come back again. - Service by each Staff member was welcoming. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus were simple and served at assigned table. Food was very tasty and presentation was nice too. Location is by the river and very soothing.
- Krishnakumar (10/5): - One of the best places to stay in Masai Mara.. Top notch service from the entire staff!!!!!!!!. Peter our guide(& the trainee Collins) we’re simply outstanding, Peter’s knowledge on the local game is phenomenal. He was spot on getting us to multiple places and on time. Watching the Hyena hunt a Topi was the highlight of the trip(though I’ll have to admit watching it die and eaten alive was very tough)
Now the second most important person we want to name is Julius the COOK. He is a fantastic and super nice guy cooking us a lot of options(Indian food) what we asked and wanted. Hats off to Julius!!!!
Kelvin and Kevin took care of our food and drinks served on time. These guys made sure we weren’t waiting at all and made sure we were well fed and drunk well 🙂!!
Moses our butler!!! Wow he is so meticulous in taking care of tent, laundry and early morning beverages!!!
Now last but not least.. Linda, Sharon and Stacey took care of our budget and other options..
In a nutshell great place to stay and unwind!!!
One small kink in the armory was the power/electric issues. If that was not there I would have given a 7/5!!!
- Melinda (10/5): - Le personnel adorable
La chambre
Juste pas de wifi en chambre
- Ronald (10/5): - Amazing 5 star camp. Awesome location & views, delicious 5 course meals, fantastic staff including the tour guide. Quality bevarage selection.
- Lauren (10/5): - This hotel is paradise! The staff are kind, generous and available around the clock. Our safari guide Daniel was the best in Africa - he found baby lion cubs, two leopards (usually elusive), baby elephants, baby giraffes, hippos out of the water, and exotic birds - and was very knowledgeable about the land and animals. The food was delicious, especially the soups, with great vegetarian options and very accommodating to food allergies. The tent is pristine with free laundry services and lovely wake up calls with tea coffee and juice in bed. Free transfer to the MNC airstrip as well. At first glance it may seem expensive, but it’s totally worth it and given the top notch service and intimate setting, it’s certainly great value for money! We can’t wait to visit again and loved every minute of this perfect place.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Underwhelming for the price one has to pay. Conservancy roads in a pathetic state. Hot water runs out. The food is not great.. except the pasta.
- Linda M (10/5): Exceptional Camp in a Beautiful Location - Everything about this camp was exceptional from the professional well trained staff to the most perfect location. Even though it rained throughout most of our staff that didn't take away from the lovely views of the hippos talking while lounging in the river just outside our tent or our amazing game drives. The entire staff couldn't have been nicer and most helpful, only our stay was too short. Will certainly be returning very soon! Asante Sana
