Guest Reviews
- Isabella (8/5): - Very good location everything is so well
- Mdeezine (10/5): - Perfect location, very clean, charming decor. Friendly helpful staff. Great value.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - 宿泊する事を目的にするのであれば充分なホテルです。
スタップ良し、部屋は狭いですがまあまあ清潔感もあり
料金から考えればgoodだと思います。
- psk_trip (8/5): Nice room with warm welcome .. but - Nice room with warm welcome. Front receptions are very nice and helpful. Room is comfortable and good to sleep. Everything is perfect except the Mint (leaf) water that smell stinky.
I have stomach ache for the whole day from the Thai dessert close to the front desk. My friend said the hotel kept the dessert too long because he noticed the same piece of dessert for couple days.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - 値段から考えたら妥当かと思います
- mellesibma (10/5): Nice and recommendable place - Was our second time that we booked and stayed for a long weekend in the Playhaus Thonglor. Like always the staff is amazing and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The price/quality is in my opinion spot on!
Next time when we will visit Bangkok again, it’s going to be the Playhaus again!
- anderssonmats (10/5): Great place to stay after a long flight - Stayed for 1 night only, but the place was great. I've stayed in Bangkok before, but never in Thonglor, which was a cool place to kick off our Thailand trip. Staff were kind and helpful, room was clean and up to date. We enjoyed the bar next to the lobby and had a couple of really good drinks (highly recommended!). There were plenty of food stalls and a 7Eleven near the hotel.
- Francois (10/5): Super intimate little room for solo or couple. - One of my go to hotel, I love the area full of restaurants. The BTS is a 2min and 20thb motobike ride away. Splendid design if u don't mind very tiny space.
- AleReviewsThings (8/5): Great stay! - Though I only stayed for one night this was quickly one of my favorite places. The service was great, staff speak adequate English and the room really is an experience in itself. also it’s far from the heavy Bangkok traffic but close to many attractions for food, drink etc.
- benjayna (10/5): amazing - Was extremely friendly helpful and efficient service. Was quiet, room was a bit small but very clean and aircon was very helpful to get out of the boiling heat outside.
The location was amazing, abit away from tourist area
- aquavelva (10/5): Small Luxurious themed Hotel with unique characterestics - The Hotel is inspired by erstwhile cinema houses and the rooms are based on the themes of classic films of a bygone era.
The decor is impeccable the rooms are comfortable. Located in a prime and posh locality it is close to lots of cafes, bars and street food outlets as well as spas and has a high end salon next door.
The bar serves cocktails and drinks by the glass and has a laid back dark ambience.
The rooms are reasonably priced. The hotel management is very particular about the in-room amenities and linen and check everything before checkout. They also charge an advance of THB 1000 for each room as security deposit that is refundable on checkout
- Verified traveler (10/5): - ชอบๆ ฟินๆ ที่นอนนุ่มมาก แอร์เย็น สะอาด ไม่มีกลิ่นอับ
- seank500 (10/5): Lovely Boutique hotel with unique theme rooms - Chance upon this hotel on a travel blog and very intrigue by the rooms they had to offer. Therefore, i decided to spent a night here at Playhaus Thong lor. Check- in at the front desk was a breeze. The staff was friendly and made me feel right at home. I was assigned to the Mary Poppins room on the 3rd level. Room was smaller than i thought, however it was very cosy, had a great night of rest. Cleanliness for room has room for improvement as i notice patches of stains on the wall. Other that than, all is good for me. Location wise, its about 10mins walk from Thong lor BTS. will definitely considering staying at a different theme room the next time I am in Bangkok.
- David (10/5): Chilling in Tonglor - Great location with bars and great F&B outlets with IMH walking distance.
Good clean massage places next door and wonderful local fare.
- KaseeH2 (4/5): Nice place to stay but... - This is the second time I stayed in this nice little hotel. The front services are very helpful with service minded as before. However, during my two day stay, there was noisy telephone conversations from a hotel maid (a little one with dark skin) along the hall way. I already informed this issue to the hotel manager (Bobby), it seemed he ignored this issue and let the noisy conversation goes on until I decided to check out and find a new hotel to stay.
- sathyaspandan (10/5): Good things come in small packages - There's nothing not to like about this place. The location is perfect. Bang in the center of Thonglor with lots of cafes and bars around. Although the rooms are pretty small the beds are really comfy. And the backstage bar with its award-winning bartenders on the ground floor is the cherry on top. Stayed here twice already and this already has become my go-to hotel in Bangkok.
- JK02118 (10/5): New Years eve at Bangkok - Went to Bangkok to celebrate my best friend's engagement on New Year's eve. As a single guy, and my second trip there, i wanted something different but at the same time nearby my friends and close to many restaurants and bars. Playhaus at Thonglor is an awesome place to stay if you're single. Go for the bigger rooms, it's worth it.
- spazziestmoves (8/5): Lovely boutique hotel - Stayed in Mary Poppins themed king size bedroom for 2 nights. The hotel was tastefully decorated from the hotel lobby to the stairs to the rooms. Room is small but the uniqueness and the cleanliness made up for it. Bed and pillows were comfortable. The hotel is 10 minutes walk from bts Thong lo. If you have luggage, it’s better to flag a taxi from bts Thong lo and bring you to the hotel for about 35 baht. The hotel is near to supermarkets, lots of eateries/cafes, massage parlours.
- evidence1 (10/5): Lovely original spot - This hotel is on the small side with no more than 20 rooms. Each floor and relative rooms are inspired after a movie or a play. I was in the Mary Poppins floor. They have 2 sizes for the rooms. I was in the bigger one that is still on the cozy side.the rooms have all the necessary amenities, comfy bed and clean room. Some rooms are overlooked (the ones numbered 1 to 3; i.e. 201, 202, 203) by the opposite building. The staff is very helpful. You are about 10 min walk from the train line(BTS). The hotel is in the middle of food paradise. I would stay here again.
- Supernova76 (10/5): Quaint Boutique Hotel - Well situated boutique hotel in the heart of Bangkok that is a dream for influencers. Every floor is named after a renowned play or musical, such as Romeo & Juliet and Marry Poppins, and has a dark, vintage theme to the decor which reminds you of small play houses and their backstages in Europe.
Many amenities such as restaurants, cafes, bars, hairdressers, nail salons and Thai massage parlours in the vicinity.
Rooms are small but I've seen smaller, especially in Europe and Japan. More importantly, they are clean and cosy.
Hotel staff are very helpful and friendly, and will assist in most things from calling a Grab car to giving you directions.
The Backstage bar on the ground floor is very small but makes a great watering hole. Great cocktails (each inspired by a great movie) but pretty hefty in price.
All in all, Playhaus is an affordable accommodation with touches of quirk and luxe in the decor.
- 857ederp (10/5): Something different! - Never stayed in a “boutique” hotel before. Was really surprised! Parking can be a pain if you have a car and BTS is not that near.
Room was small but very well styled. Loved the decor. There’s also a cocktail bar which is worth visiting.
Try it you may be pleasantly surprised.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Pros:
1. Unique themed design and decor of the hotel room
2. Convenient location
3. Really cool bar with great drinks on site
Cons:
1. The WiFi connection was too weak to send and upload photos
2. The shower temperature was erratic and difficult to adjust
3. The hair dryer sparked (dangerous!)
4. There were some stains on the hand towels provided
5. The chambermaids were really noisy and their chatter woke us up at 8ish every morning
- adrianjeremiah (10/5): Good service - I was here last month and I forgotten a lighter which is a precious gift from a friend. By coincidence I came back and met the same staff by the name, Pai. I was both surprised and glad that Pi Pai actually remembers me and he actually safe kept the lighter which I left behind. Great service and sense of responsibility of such act is greatly appreciated. Will surely recommend friends here on their holiday. Cheers and all the best.
- LondonHotelier (8/5): Romantic and Boutuque - Theatrical design which we loved. Perfect for romance in the city.
Beds sooooo comfy!
Room was a bit small, but we booked the smallest category.
Loved the bathroom design.
Great location near some fabulous restaurants, we loved Iron Fairies bar!
Close enough to a BTS station.
Staff super helpful and sweet.
- CYC (8/5): - This is my go-to hotel whenever I visit Bangkok. It's near the BTS Thonglor albeit it's close to 10 minutes walk. Small food stalls and shops are available. Best of all, there is a 24 hr eatery within a high end mall (8 Thonglor). So food is always available. And as usual, a 7-11 convenience store is nearby as well. Rooms in the hotel are small but the beds are really comfortable. Staff are friendly and wonderful. Will still go back to the same hotel next trip.
- JK02118 (10/5): Good Stay - Cant complain much. Good hotel and decent room, love the colours and designs of the room. easy acess to MRT and lots of food stalls and restaurants available near to this place. Decent price for 3 night stay. Will be back soon 😊
- kewayjr (10/5): A Surprisingly True Diamond in the Rough - At first glance, I thought I made a mistake because I did not read any reviews and it was a last second choice, but WOW....it turned out to be the best hotel of all I stayed at while in Bangkok.
It is tucked away in a small lot off a busy street.... so you may not be able to see it from the street, but you can tell it is magical once you enter. It is themed with books and theater plays you will be familiar with. I stayed on the 'Mary Poppins' floor, but all floors and rooms are good. The entire hotel felt extremely comfortable no matter what floor you sat down and took advantage of the chairs, books, and games available on each floor.
I was a single traveler and the room was small, but perfect for what I was seeking and the price was below the more 'named' hotels right near by.
If it is important for you, the bathroom was the best part. Clean and easy to use and plenty of hot water for a shower. There is a small refrigerator and once you can figure it out, you can go online with the TV there and watch your Netflix, or YouTube, or whatever you wish.
If there was one downgrade to the hotel, it would be the lack of space to hang clothes, or store your suitcase. I am sure your luggage could be stored with the front desk if you had to. Speaking of the front desk, I had NO problem with any of the employees there. They were all nice, and spoke enough English to make it comfortable.
To make my point, I actually requested to stay an extra five days and they let me stay in the same room, no problem.
There is a food market across the parking area, but plenty of restaurants near by to try out. Off the lobby there is a bar, but I did not try it out.
Outside the hotel was a bit noisy in the evening (venders near by), so earplugs are recommended. The walk to the nearest BTS is an adventure not for the faint of heart with the sidewalks and construction, but try it. It is about 3/4 km (3/4 mile).
I hope to stay here again....well worth the money!
(Oh, just to add, I was in the area for surgery and relaxing there and recovering was excellent.!
- Sherpa816173 (10/5): Excellent service - I loved each and every bit of the stay here. Best service I have received so far. Mr Bobby the best part of the hotel, knows english very well. Also extremely courteous staff.
Location is Thonglor 55, near train station. Road full of Japanese restaurants. Makro Cash and Carry next to the hotel. A small crazy bar at the hotel.
- Boobootransoort (6/5): Not good enough - The hotel have good bed to sleep and good design also nice bathroom
But the stuff not friendly like other city and speak poor English and there is no coffee maker at room
First night the air condition was liking and the reception told us wait until tomorrow and no room to change also door security was too poor most of the time not locked
- Verified traveler (8/5): Cosy with huge character - Staff were really nice, friendly and helpful. Bar downstairs is uber cool. Small but comfy and conveniently located to great bars
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice decorated hotel room. Every floor is a different Play Theme.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Staff not honest and charge me ridiculous price
- Nink (10/5): - Lovely room, love the decoration and theme of each floor
- Verified traveler (6/5): Nice and clean but small - It was a nice hotel but l found the only problem is that the room was so small and it had no storage for the baggage.
- Hege (10/5): We are comming back - We have stayed twice in this hotel, and we will come back. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The rooms are well decorated, comfy beds, and everything works. The rooms are not the biggest, but very cozy and well planned out. Its in a quiet ally, and you can get the rooms totally dark, perfect to sleep out a jetlag. Good shower with hot water, soft fluffy towels. The bar serves great drinks, and it is a nice hidden getaway. Well worth a visit. Great food in the area
- yaqoub (10/5): sweet theme - short stay as always
friendlly staffs
great for 2 ppl
- Kok Leong (8/5): Great hotel - Nice small boutique hotel , clean and convenient to look for foods.
- JLsuper (8/5): Affordable choice in ThongLor - Overall it's great value for its pricetag! It's a sleep n go hotel yet its cleanliness is of high standard. Room a bit dark but that's the playhouse theme. Friendly staff, old school...that sums up. Location wise I didn't expect it to be right adjacent to BTS but Uber/grab app will help alot
- angelica (10/5): Beautiful but small hotel - The hotel was so beautifull done up, and the theme was followed throughout the entire hotel!
Probably not somewhere you would want to stay if you were going to do a lot of shopping though. The rooms are very small, we barely had space to open our luggages.
- Mayo (10/5): Cosy and nice! - Beautiful hotel! Perfect room clean and comfy. I love the deco ! And staff was really nice!
- chi ling (8/5): My 1st time staying - All of the staffs are very kind and helpful , especially Bobby and Noinaa ! Had Wonderful two nights there , definitely visit again. But one thing is the room is so tiny and just for one person is good
- Nicole (10/5): Cool hotel, good location - Details of room decor in rooms is really cool, comfortable bed
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great place to stay for exploring Thonglor - Comfortable room and excellent location, very convenient and near nightlife
- amy (10/5): Love this hotel ! - Customer service is amazing and friendly, and the rooms are small but incredibly comfortable. Love the old theater vibe of the lobby/hotel/room decor as well. While the location might be considered a bit far from the usual tourist locations (Grand Palace, etc..) it's a quick walk to the SkyTrain, as well as many local places to eat and shop. Very much enjoyed the slightly less hectic pace of this neighborhood, and a cab ride to/from the Intn'l airport as well as the busy tourist areas is under 200 bhat. I'd suggest requesting a room on the 3rd floor or above as I assume the night club on the street could potentially be a bit noisy at night (though I was on the 3rd floor and heard absolutely nothing).
- Sharon (8/5): Reasonable cost, clean and comfy - Reasonable cost, clean room and comfortable bed if you are planning to go out for most of the day. It can get noisy because of location so just bring ear plugs. Staff are also very friendly. Toothbrush available on request.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Small Room but Strategic Location - Location of Playhaus ThongLor is fantastic but do note it is not on an actual road on the map so getting an Uber/Grab will always end up at the road before/after. Room size is pathetic (very small), but given the price paid for, it is considered fair for a good night sleep. Cleanliness is alright for the hotel room floor and toilet floor, furnishing is dark, cant see anything much from the deem light. Staff does speaks minimal English too, ease of communication.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good value and good location - Pleased with the service. Arrived at 9AM after 20+ hours flight, need room to sleep and was able to check in immediately.
- Surasak (8/5): Small hotel in very good location - Second time with Playhaus and as expected with good location especially at night, many good and famous restaurants nearby. Hotel itself is small, with bars and party downstairs but not too much noise. Room is small however if you need just a clean and comfort bed, with good location, this is one of the best choice.
- Vase (8/5): Good location - Although it is quite the walk from Thonglor BTS (nothing a 20 baht motorbike taxi can't resolve), Playhaus is a good location for travelers seeking a bustling atmosphere right where they live. The hotel is tastefully decorated and really cosy. It isn't one of the fanciest boutique hotels in BKK but more than enough for a short stay.
- Michelle (10/5): Playhaus Thonglor - Perfect location. It was close to the places I wanted to visit. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Would definitely come back here again!
- Fatima (8/5): - it was an amazing short stay! polite and friendly staff!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Quality hotel, different package - It's a themed hotel, with the rooms based on plays - hence the name. The rooms are small, but manageable, and the bathrooms are good sized. Everything seems in nice condition, with comfy bed, hot water, tiled shower, etc. Rather than being completely over the top, the themeing mostly meant a mural on the wall, antique-style (but actually modern) phone, and colors and curtains to match: there's no weird mannequins or anything, and you don't have to listen to soundtracks.
- John (8/5): Great location and style - small rooms - Second time here - great location and very convenient. On Soi 55 in Thong lor so really in the heart of trendy thong lor. The style and theme of the places is cool and different. Rooms are very comfortable, but small. Great beds, good wifi and AC. Showers have good pressure but heat was iffy.
No real other facilities in the hotel aside from the cocktail bar downstairs. Its cool and seems popular with (seemingly) cashed up young Thais. I found it ok but too pricey for the quality (better value in the whole area).
Its about a ten minute walk from nearest BTS (Thong Lor) or you can just get a moto from the BTS station to the hotel (20 baht).
Soi 17 up the road there is the 'Commons' for great food and drinks.
All in all a comfortable place for solo or couple travellers.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great location and very comfortable beds. - Very comfortable stay. Will definitely go back if I'm traveling to Bangkok again!
- James C (8/5): convenient and clean hotel - I moved from moldy hotel to here so I could stay in the area as I was going to hospital. DO NOT let the name Playhaus scare you off ...the name comes from 4 plays that make up the theme for this hotel and I stayed on the Mary Poppins floor. All the inside is beautifully decorated and well taken care of. Only 2 bad things...poor lighting in the bathroom, they need flood lights instead of spot lights and 2nd was the very small room which was ok for one person but even though it was small I liked the decoration and they even had a chair to sit in which is great for watching tv better than sitting on the bed. One of the best beds I have slept on in Thailand and I have been coming here since 2003.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Amazing thematic attention to detail, especially for a Thai hotel, made this a warm and cosy place to stay. The rooms had fairly poor storage space and weren't very big, but the hotel was nice, fun and pleasant, and I was glad I chose to stay there on this occasion. Being located near the corner of Soi 9 Thonglor, you might prefer to sometimes take a motorcycle taxi to/from Sukhumvit Road for 15 Baht.
- chris (8/5): Good location. - Very comfortable stay. Though small but very cozy, it's luxury for a steal! WiFi very unstable though, much room for improvement.
- Kat (10/5): Decent location, great service - Staff were super friendly and helpful. Room was comfortable and well serviced. All facilities as described online. Walls were pretty things though.
- hide (6/5): Location is good. - Near Main Street and some restaurant.
Enough to accommodate only, but if you want to enjoy hotel itself, not enough.
- daniel shaw (6/5): - It's ok. Reasonable price for the location and friendly staff. The room is tiny though and doesn't have a wardrobe.
- arthur (8/5): Value For Money - A clean fuss free hotel. Value for money. Friendly staffs.
- Verified traveler (10/5): it was a nice experience and somthing diffrent. - i LIKE THE HOTEL LOCATION THE PEOPLE WERE VERY FRIENDLY.I LIKED THE DESIGN OF THE ROOM AND STYLE.
- Benjamin (6/5): Playhaus rest - Small rooms, but great location. Can get a little noisy from the bar on Friday and Saturday evenings.
- william (6/5): Interesting decor. - Themed rooms, very interesting. Room was small but considering the area I guess it's ok. Considering the price point, location and the function of me just wanting a place to sleep. It was perfect for what I needed. I will stay there again when the same requirements of mine are needed. Check in was super easy and I booked the room literally 30mins before I arrived. I travel to BKK a lot and bounce around. I would recommend this hotel to others.
- Bruce (8/5): Good hotel with great service staff! - It was a good theme hotel. what impressed me most is their service staff. 2 thumbs up
- Verified traveler (8/5): As hotel name suggested, it is meant for play - Stayed in a standard room, room is small, window facing somebody house backyard.
no table and chair in room for doing work.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Nice hotel, comfortable stay but misses out on restaurant facilities.
Surroundings are nice with lots of eateries options. Staff is very helpful, courteous and let's you feel at home.
Overall very good at the price point it is available.
- Jay (8/5): Unique hotel - Unique, charming hotel in one of Bangkok's coolest neighborhoods. Friendly, attentive staff. Comfy bed. Nice, modern bathroom. Strong wi-fi.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Tiny yet stylish - An interesting, very nicely themed tiny hotel. Room was smaller than I expected. The bed was extremely comfortable however unfortunately the guests in the 2 rooms next to mine were very noisy, knocking on eachother’s doors and being quite close by it sounded like the knock was on my door. They were scurrying around throughout the night and it was disturbing. I thought the staff should have mentioned something to them for the sake of the other guests.
- Shaun (8/5): Opera - Great receptionists
- Em (6/5): great if you stay up late ;) - Positives were great location, nice rooms, clean.
Negatives were the walls are quite thin and you can hear other people talking/tv.
The bar down stars plays music till 2am!
Probably wouldn't stay there again due to the above complaints.
- jess (8/5): Hotel close to everywhere - The hotel is situated in the middle of the high end part of Bangkok. It has about 5-10 min walk to the skyline and local train links. Restaurants and bars are at your door. Lots of local street food around to taste. Hotel staff where friendly and English was really good.
- Linda (10/5): Whacky and wonderful - Liked the place, the neighbourhood, the staff.....thoroughly enjoyed it
- Peck (8/5): very chic hotel! but.... - the good: 1. chic and comfortable! 2. cafes all around! and starbucks is just 1 block away!
the bad: 1. far from BTS. reading from the reviews not many talked about the distance to the bts so i thought it was walkable. yes indeed it was but thats 10-15min walk! its gonna be a torture if u walk under hot sun! but cabs (or UBER - highly recommended!) are always ard and cheap! 2. mind the windows! the one in my room cannot be locked! 3. early morning some people at downstairs outside the hotel will start shouting from 7am. don't know what they are shouting about but the point here is, the room is not so sound-proof!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Ok location. Small rooms. - The room was very small. I can't even fit the luggage between the bed and the wall. The hot water is not enough, and you get a minute of cold then two minutes of hot and so on.
The safe is ridiculous and not easy to use. Maybe it's too simple and I can't figure out how to use it!
When you lift up the comforters and look through them towards the light, you can see a lot of dirt inside...
The bar downstairs has only Chang beer (local), and they seem to lack on the variety as well as customers...
For around $45-50/night, the price per square meter is high... Also, they don't have card access to the rooms, they make you leave a giant room key at the reception when you go out.
- Michael (8/5): - Nice little hotel, clean and well maintained, all staff we're excellent, close to sky train and nice part of town.
One downside, being on the top, fifth floor, was kept awake by a water pump on the roof, not good with jet lag! After two days I would stay again, but not on the fifth.
- Sutee (8/5): Nice hotel with good location - Small room but unique style with a good lacation in Thonglor
- yu (6/5): Normal stay - Lack of staff for housekeeping, safe not working, no cabinet for storing of clothes
- Eganandan (10/5): Awesome hotel - Enjoyable experience
- Sheena (10/5): thumbs up! - VERY GOOD SERVICE, THUMBS UP FOR THEIR SERVICES.
The bed in the themed room are really comfortable, there are many pillows.
The television are so clear and there are many HBO movies which i can watch at night.
And the staffs spoke fluent english and they will help you with your requests! :)
I will definitely book room from playhaus again!
- Prithiviraj (8/5): Room of Fantasy - A small fantasy hotel at the best location. PlayHaus have almost all the feature for a few good night stay in Bangkok. The front desk is a 5 Star and love the staff in the bar too. Rooms are clean and well maintain however the bathroom is too small.
Pros: Location, Rooms decoration and Staff
Cons: No fridge in the room and the tiny bathroom.
I will definitely return to this hotel.
- John (8/5): - Really cool decor in the room and around the hotel. Excellent location in Thong Lor. A little close to the main Street but the noise wasn't too bad. The room was a little small but not uncomfortable. Nice staff. Will stay again.
- Noel (10/5): good spot - Good experience at Playhaus Thonglor. Good service, funky rooms. Thonglor is a cool area, just off the main Sukhumvit. Worth an explore. Just know you'll be on foot or by taxi from the hotel -- BTS is not walkable.
- anitha (8/5): comfortable , good location - rooms small, but clean and comfortable. great location
walking distance to iron fairies jazz bar , spa , local food and a 1 stop (by train) away to terminal 21 shopping mall
the family room's wash room glass a little transparent. not comfortable for family stay. if couple then its fine
had a nice bar below.
overall nice and value for money. \
staff was friendly and nice
- Mark (10/5): Bangkok Shopping ! - Great Little Hotel ! Especially the Staff Nice Rooms but a little small, overall wonderful .
- shivani (10/5): - Very comfortable the best part was staff so much helpful I just love my stay there
- Verified traveler (10/5): An easy to overlook gem - . This is a neat little hotel I took a chance on and I am glad I did. It is small and decorated in a 1920's European theatre style. Think of the movie moulin rouge. The rooms are smaller than average but are very adequate for the price. Good televisions in the rooms. Location is good and you are in a good spot for thonglors bars, shopping and you can walk to the BTS in 10 minutes. There is a good well priced Thai restaurant close by. For the class of hotel this can not be beat. It is a small cozy hotel. No pool, just a bar. it is a sexy fun hotel.
- Sarah (10/5): Magnificent... - We couldn't have asked for a better hotel experience. My Partner and I were travelling to Bangkok from Surat Thani on one the VIP night buses, arriving at the hotel at around 06:00. We made the hotel aware of our situation and they offered us two options. We could either check in at 10:00 rather than 14:00 if the room was available or we could pre-book the room for half of the price which worked perfectly for us. The room was magnificent and the attention to detail was amazing. We stayed in a king sized room on the 4th floor which was Aladdin themed. I have never stayed in a comfier bed in my whole life, never mind in Thailand. The hotel manager spoke perfect English and so did the rest of the staff. The lobby downstairs is set in a 1920's theme and you could play dress up if the mood strikes. The shower had nice hot water (which is rare in Thailand) and was quite powerful. The room was made up every day also. The hotel is situated 800 meters from the Sky Train (10 min walk) and there are loads of nice restaurants within the immediate vicinity.
- ChoubixL (6/5): Location ok, really tiny rooms - The hotel has "mini" rooms ie: u get a king (or a queen) bed but no space to open a luggage. We also had difficulties opening/closing the bathroom doors and it is difficult for 2 people to "move around" the room. As a result we had to get the chair removed from the room to get some space for our luggage.
Bed is comfortable with a mattress pad but no water kettle, no fridge, no dvd player and no wardrobe. Flat TV is rather big.
The rooms have some interesting designs that follow famous plays.
I think this is ideal for a single traveler who do not need a table to work on or for people traveling (very) light for a short week end in Bangkok and just need a crash pad for the night.
The hotel is located a good 12mins walking distance to the BTS and doesn't provide a tuk tuk service (supposedly "it is not safe" as we were told by the staff at the reception which is an argument served to first time tourists to Bangkok - which we are not- as many hotels that far from a bts station in the same area can provide a tuk tuk service for free).
All in all while the hotel is not bad as it is new but there are better options for the price point (we paid around sgd 65 per night). The room is too small and impractical. There are better options for the price point either close to bts or offering a shuttle/tuk tuk service.
- Jacqueline (8/5): Try the bed! - The most comfortable bed I have ever slept in, but the room was a little small - we would return as the staff were wonderful and they even repaired my suitcase for nothing. Great breakfasts to be had across the road, all prices possible! Great place to stay.
- Willis (10/5): 3 stars hotel with a 5 stars feel - 1. Friendly staff
2. The bedding is 5 stars standard and you will not want to get out of bed.
3. The hotel is just 1 building away from the main street. Which mark a perfect condition of quiet and get to main street in 10 seconds.
4. There is bar at the ground floor open up till 2am.
5. You are paying a 3 stars price for a 5 stars feel.
- wai san (8/5): memorable and excellent stay in PlayHaus - The hotel's staff speak English, helpful and response quickly. It is a brand new beautiful boutique hotel, easily get tasteful street foods and restaurants' food outside of the hotel. Surrounded by famous and classy bars and pubs. A little bit far (1km)to BTS, but we can always take motor taxi just in front of the hotel to Thonglor station. I have stayed here continuously 7nights, the no.8 night i have confirmed booking for another hotel earlier, if not we would just stay back to this PlayHaus Hotel for celebrate our new year's eve with them at their awesome lounge. Don't forget to order a glass of cocktail from their lounge, the mixologist could wow your night by their skills. I definitely will stay again in this hotel for my next BKK trip, just well worth the money.
