Guest Reviews
- Vish Prymas (9/5): -
- Andrew (10/5): For its price, Newcastle's finest. - Really good sized room, clean, nicely maintained, staff attentive and friendly.
Luggage space now to the rear of reception which is an upgrade on the past. Not a dedicated room, but secure.
Bus stops steps away from the car park and regular busses mean the station & centre is minutes away.
Excellent value. Considering what you get for this price, it would be daft to complain.
I will say the shower is only fair, but it's serviceable.
The free cold breakfast in a bag is a small bonus with this price!
- Macy (8/5): -
- Fung Kuen Cecily (7/5): Location is not bad, room size is good but need to have maintenance done and fix the problem. - The size of Superior Double Room is spacious enough. Grab and go breakfast is perfect for busy traveller. Windows can’t close very well.
- Karen (8/5): Good - Good price, location and very clean. Takeaway breakfast bag excellent The £10 parking charge needs to be advertised better
- john (7/5): Would use this hotel again. - Liked the breakfast on the go , healthy option ,probably better for you than a big fry up, also ten minute walk from town centre. The room was funtional but getting a little tired , what can you expect for budget hotel prices.
- Nauman Khan (7/5): - It was too hot in the rooms. Had to keep the fan on but as soon as the fan would turn off the room would get like a sauna.
There was nothing on TV to watch other than radio. So no use of having a TV in the room and TV was also not smart so just junk.
- Kelly (3/5): Our stay was okay slept well. - The location was good room was a good size bathroom good staff were lovely. Cleaning not the best bed Sette mattress full of stains all snapped metal on it soap holders had yellow gunk down the sides could have been better house keeping but for the price couldn’t rely complain.
- Michael (6/5): Was happy enough and Michael could not of been more helpful he was first class - Access and the buses were bang on It needs a good revamp wall paper coming off wall carpets worn just needs attention
- Tarek (7/5): -
- Nick (4/5): Basic - Thin walls, heard loud snoring through the wall (beds back to back either side of wall) kept me awake.
Was surprised by £10 parking charge, not mentioned on Booking.com at the time. Staff told me the confirmation email I was sent (which I didn’t open) mentioned the new charge. They didn’t apologise, they suggested I tell Booking.com to update their listing!
- Jane (7/5): Convenient location for city centre, basic facilities but clean and comfortable. - Close to city centre in a quiet neighbourhood. Basic facilities but clean and comfortable room. Unfortunate coincidence that my arrival coincided with a burst water pipe above my room! Staff promptly sorted another room for me.
- Andrew (8/5): - Comfortable room
Nice receptionist Towels could be better
- Peter (7/5): -
- Najmul (9/5): Fantastic - Very nice and spacious, clean , the man at the desk was amazing . And decent price The parking sign as you enter gives you a bit scare , wondering how much will it cost, but it was no problem.
- Dawlat Khan (6/5): -
- Richard (9/5): Great for exploring Newcastle - Great location for exploring Newcastle, rooms are a good size, clean & comfortable, the staff were really helpful & friendly, we would definitely stay here again It was all good, you do have to pay for parking is my only thoughts.
- Sandra (9/5): Comfortable - I had a really pleasant stay at Room Inn Newcastle. The location was convenient and made it easy to get around the city. The room was comfortable, clean, and had everything needed for a short stay.
I also really appreciated the breakfast provision, especially the breakfast on the go option, which was very thoughtful and convenient when heading out early in the morning.
Overall, it was a smooth and comfortable experience, and the staff were helpful throughout my stay. I would definitely consider staying here again when visiting Newcastle. Nothing major really. Overall, the stay was good, but perhaps a bit more attention to detail with cleanliness and room supervision would make the experience even better. Also maybe considering having fridges in the room will be helpful too.
- Robert (8/5): Good overnight stay - Better than we expected for the price Could do with a lick of paint here and there. Parking is now £10 per 24 hours
- Edina (7/5): -
- Sarah (6/5): -
- Robert (7/5): - The room was ok You didnt have a lift
- Judit (1/5): -
- Brian (7/5): - Close to football ground. Lady on reception..not very friendly or help full..also parking is not free eny more costs 10+
- Tzuling (10/5): -
- starlight travel (1/5): Terrible hidden parking trap and appalling customer service! - If you stay here, you are highly likely to end up with a £60 parking fine. The hotel charges £10 per night for parking, which is already a bit steep, but the real issue is the hidden trap: the £10 fee only covers a maximum of 12 hours.
Most guests check in between 5pm and 7pm and check out between 7am and 9am the next morning, meaning a standard overnight stay will almost always exceed this limit. As a paying guest, I paid the £10 overnight fee, but because I overstayed by a mere 40 minutes, I was slapped with that £60 fine. This tricky 12-hour rule is incredibly easy to miss when paying.
To make matters worse, the older male staff member on duty the next day absolutely refused to provide me with an invoice, even for the parking fee I had already paid. I explained that I needed it for company reimbursement, but he still refused. The service and attitude were utterly appalling. I will never return to this hotel and cannot recommend it to anyone.
- Gerard (7/5): Voldoende als je Newcastle wilt bezichtigen. - Eigen (betaalde) parkeerplaats.
Niet ver van centrum. Het matras is aan vervanging toe.
- Tracey (8/5): - Location to where we wanted to be. Says bed and breakfast(nice fry up etc) but was actually a packed lunch, dont tell you that till you booked.
- Tim (8/5): Great value for money and location. - Location to St. James’ Park, less than a mile, the staff were lovely and the superior room was excellent. The shower (305) was poor and the lock on the bathroom door didn’t lock. Both told to staff on check out. Advertised as free parking (wasn’t-March new parking company took over), had to pay £10.40 for 2pm to 9:30am.
- Murad (6/5): -
- Craig (6/5): Acceptable for cost - Smells of damp in corridor for price it was acceptable and car parking was good breakfast was not good as apples were bruised most of it was not eaten and put in bin but for £72.09 what could you expect probably not visit again Not a lot
- Elizabeth anne (8/5): - Value for money
Big rooms Not central
- Robert (6/5): -
- 551briany (8/5): Good value central location option - Basic no frills accommodation within easy walking distance of town centre. Large and comfortable room. Grab and go breakfast packs. No issues at all.
- steveblackhu (9/5): - Nagyon jó elhelyezkedés, és ár/érték arány. Kedves személyzet. A tisztaság és a kilátás is szuper. Éjjeli szekrény az ágy mellett jó lett volna.
- Andrii (7/5): -
- Brian (8/5): Good value accommodation very convenient for town centre. - Parking provision was good and room was very spacious with a good shower. Breakfast pack was reasonable but could be improved by including butter or jam for the croissant.
Bed was pretty small for a double.
- Sofia (1/5): No comment - .
- J.H.M. (7/5): -
- Vish Prymas (8/5): -
- Hunter (10/5): I would stay again! - Staff very friendly, asked for extra blankets and got them straight away nothing was to much hassle Breakfast was a little disappointing
- Gabrielle (6/5): Does the job - Good location. Facilities were fine. Beds were comfortable The building was boiling. Even with our radiators off and the windows open, I woke up in the night due to the heat.
The water went off for some time.
The shower door was broken and wouldn’t close.
- Maher (10/5): -
- Florin (10/5): -
- Emma (1/5): -
- David (9/5): - A good place to stay on the outskirts of Newcastle city centre
- Tony (8/5): - Location and price. Free car parking at time of booking (but not now).
- Shebnam (8/5): - Location great breakfast good A bit noisy
- Nicola (10/5): The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The shower was hot and powerful. - Ideal location, clean and friendly staff
- Nicola (3/5): Cheap, but not worth it - Staff were friendly and helpful
Location was good, short bus ride into town
Room was large
WiFi worked fine Room 134 - Mattress was uncomfortable, could feel the springs. Mould on seals around bath etc. Poor water pressure. Impossible to get shower at a consistent temperature for any length of time - either scoldingly hot or freezing. The walls are thin. Someone in the room next door but one woke me up at 5am coughing/vomiting. No sockets by the side of the bed.
- Ekaterina (8/5): -
- Simon (10/5): Great room great value. - Clean comfy room. Excellent shower. Tea and coffee. Very good value for money. Would have liked to have been able to negotiate an earlier check-in but this didn’t detract from my satisfaction with the hotel and staff.
- Martin (10/5): Well impressed and great value. - I travel alot abroad and in UK.and if a hotel performs well I review it as that and likewise if it's poor.
I was very impressed with Rooms Inn , it was firstly very good value by UK standards and to include a grab bag breakfast .
My room was clean, spacious warm and the bathroom shower excellent and made you just not want to get out .
Plenty of tea coffee.makings and such as additional fan and hair drier provided
I note a few mention the £10 carpark charge but as it's pretty secure well lit attached to the hotel ,then was more than happy to pay that additional fee , especially with the room being so reasonably priced.
There is the option of free on street parking right next to the carpark but the peace of mind security meant £10 well spent.
I received a warm informative welcome on arrival and 100%this will be my default near city centre hotel when visiting Newcastle. Nothing to complain about at that price point .
- Simon (8/5): Great value close to city centre - This is a real find. Very cheap, ten minutes walk from Newcastle railway station and bars at the edge of the city centre with regular buses. Huge car park. I had a massive room . Great shower. Good TV. No lift. Printed WiFi code was incorrect & reception couldn't help. Found it out from another guest (hint: it's all lower case - ignore the caps on the printed guide).
Basic packed breakfast & no communal area to eat if that's important for you.
- Daniel (6/5): - Good location, morning breakfast bag appreciated. The carpet was dirty, multiple stains, it was really noisy past 11:00 pm on our last day. Nose coming from people outside and from the room above ours.
- Hesom (6/5): - Quite noisy room above us.
- Stephen (1/5): - Showers are good Have to pay for parking
- E8675RYstephaniep (10/5): Our holiday - A really good hotel 2nd time we have stayed here. Rooms very clean, breakfast 😋 good and the staff are great.
- Dr Keith (8/5): Best hotel shower ever?! - Great location for a very much appreciated low cost. Quiet location yet only 15 min walk to the station. The room was large, the bed reasonably comfortable and the shower was not only a large walk in one, the water pressure and temperature was the best I’ve had for a long long time - and I have stayed in a lot of hotels in my life!
The little take away bag of breakfast was not bad either - yoghurt, fruit, a packaged pain au chocolat that was actually very fresh, and an oat breakfast bar with an orange juice. The window handle in my room was broken so the window wouldn’t open, and the room was locked incredibly hot for me. It was a cold couple of nights outside but far too warm to sleep well for me, even with the heating turned off. Some might like this but I prefer to be able to regulate my temperature by opening a window.
- Gur-Arun (6/5): -
- Serhii (10/5): -
- David (7/5): Great location and price , needs a bit of attention now. - I have stayed here many times for work , great location, huge car park and great staff. This time the parking has changed , normally just logged reg number now I had to scan a qr code etc and pay for parking just was a bit of a pain. Also my room 205 the bed was extremely worn, I could see the dip in the mattress as soon as I walked in and it was extremely uncomfortable. I think my time staying at this hotel has come to an end . I am normally here 4or 5 times a year but definitely was uncomfortable this time. The staff are great and location is great I would happily pay a bit more if beds were upgraded.
- Julius (3/5): -
- Julius (2/5): -
- Noel (2/5): Cold building, absolutely no internet/ WiFi - Nothing Everything
- Lee (8/5): -
- Michael (7/5): Tired, parking is expensive - Location isn’t bad, rooms are a good size. Rooms are looking very tired, very worn out sofa bed in room that was badly stained.
Don’t like that you now have to pay for parking, was previously free and was the main reason I used the hotel. Will now be cheaper to stay more central and use the free overnight parking in the city centre. Won’t be back.
- Narendrakumar (8/5): Very Reasonable Inn would book again if needed stay in future also recommend friends - Basic room with comfortable bed was clean and cleaned everyday had Tea making facilities over all comfortable place to stay right near city centre. Ample parking even if you pay and resonable day rate. Overall we were happy some change in Bag breakfast would have been nice we were having same items everyday.
- Leanne (9/5): - Guy on reception was great, room was comfortable, shower hot, and take away breakfast appreciated. Great for a 1 night stay passing through.
Ontbijt was wat mij betreft een no go.
- Paul (10/5): Great value hotel for a night out in the Toon - Great hotel 10 mins walk to city centre. Staff were fantastic especially the kind lady at reception on Sunday and the Head of Cleaning. Rooms were great bed very comfy and shower great. Breakfast ro go in the morning very appreciated. Great value hotel, I will be back. Everything great
- Chowdhury Syife (7/5): -
- Glynis (8/5): -
- Callie (5/5): Clean room and staff wer good - Like the clean room The room had really bad smell of fag smoke
- Alex (7/5): -
- Damien (7/5): -
- Bettina (8/5): -
- Emma (8/5): Pleasant stay - Location easy walking distance to Newcastle utilita area. Room was very spacious, powerful shower and easy check in. Great that free on site parking in a city centre. Grab and go breakfast
- Vazirbekov (1/5): -
- Champe (8/5): -
- Brigham (7/5): -
- Alex (2/5): Staff need customer service training, empathy and respect - The room was comfy and clean The staff at this property were nothing but rude. They were not accomodating at all after informing them of a death in the group no compassion and then they accepted our date change and we had to change again. They were very reluctant on doing this as the room was 100 pound cheaper but they wouldn't accept it or refund me the difference absolute scammers. In the end it took my partner to ring the hotel and speak with someone who was so rude and disgusting language. After saying I would leave a bad review, they then accepted the change but didn't refund us and told us that no more changes were possible. If we canceled or didn't turn up, we would be charged the full amount we'd already paid. It's disgusting behavior. In the end we had to give the hotel to family member as we couldn't go and he even stated the staff were appalling
- garath (9/5): -
- Kate (7/5): - Value, location excellent. Simple check in. Free parking. No plug for sink. Shower fan not working. Lighting a bit bright. A more comfortable headboard would be a nice addition.
- Brigham (7/5): -
- Ronan (10/5): -
- AHMED (1/5): I will never book this hotel again - Nothing Very cold
Heating is not working
Reception was not friendly (when I mentioned about the cold room he said yes we turned the heater off during night and no solution)
Very old heating system , whatever you turn the radiator the temperature is not increasing
Paid parking not free parking
- Rose (9/5): - Bed was comfortable and hotel was very cheap , we booked to sleep only as we had many things to do. But definately would book again Having a lie in isnt possible as there is a staff room for thr office in the building and they are quite loud in the mornings.
- Lauriland13 (8/5): Excellent for Concert Hall - Excellent location for arena. Good car park with adequate spaces.
Shower was lovely. Bed wasn't very comfortable. Some pillows were lumpy.
Breakfast bag to go not suitable for persons who can't eat dairy or gluten and no alternative.
- ANNE (9/5): Two night stay at RoomsInn - Great location for my husband and I to visit family nearby.
Lovely room on top floor with nice views from window.
Very quiet and peaceful place to stay.
Very good value for money.
Will be back again very soon.
- Steve (10/5): -
- Mohammed (9/5): Very good and comfortable - Everything is very good. Can’t complain at all The heating was not working for some reason and the staff tried to fix it but didn’t work. However the room was warm enough I guess because the heating was working all around in the other rooms so was not a problem.
- Kester (8/5): good value - The room was very clean and a comfortable bed. Although basic it was excellent value for money. A 15 minute walk into the city was worth what we saved in having a room in the city itself. A bus service is available from central station to the hotel that will avoid the walk. the service is the number one bus and runs till about 11 pm. maybe a bar although alcohol was available to buy.
- Tim (9/5): Great inexpensive Travelodge-alike. - OK, it's a retired PremierTravelInnLodge, but there's nothing wrong with that. It's decently appointed, the staff are fabulously helpful, it was inexpensive for a city centre hotel. The packed breakfast is a nice touch. Five stars. Not the best area in town, perhaps.. And maybe check out parking costs.. I cycled so it was never an issue for me.
- Palmer (1/5): -
- Gary Robinson (9/5): Did the job for an overnight stay - Bed was really comfortable
Room was nice and warm
Best hotel shower ever
11.00am check out
Free car park
Ground floor room Room was bit tired
Take away breakfast
