Guest Reviews
- nu (6/5): - Host was nice and friendly. Location was great, steps to Cane Garden Bay. Restaurants nearby. Room was little dated. Shower head was so small. Very little water pressure. There was a kitchen but no table or chairs to sit. Can"t sit outside for dinner because of mosquitos at night.
- David (10/5): - We loved this property. It is conveniently located in Cane
Garden Bay. The staff were very friendly and checked on us daily to make sure everything was perfect. We highly recommend staying here.
- Carlos (10/5): - Overall good
- JOSE LUIS (10/5): - Very pleasant owner and well maintained property. Very close to beach and restaurants. Property is a bit dated and could use some renovations but it is a great value and greatly situated. Uphill climb may not be suitable for some people.
- Kevin (10/5): - This unique property is the perfect place in Cane Garden Bay to enjoy some sanctuary while enjoying beautiful water views from the private balcony or from the pool balcony. The hotel is very well maintained and the cheerful staff are very attentive.
- Alain (10/5): - We stayed here for a couple of nights ahead of our sailboat charter. Cane Garden Bay is a great spot to chill on the beach, eat, drink and relax. The villas are nice, the pool was quiet and the hosts were attentive and very nice. Highly recommend. Also recommend Callwood Rum Distillery!
- Anabel (10/5): - Unbeatable location, excellent host, comfortable & cleanliness.
- Ashley (10/5): - Excellent customer service and very communicative.
- Jill (8/5): - Although in need of some updates, the location of this hotel is great, walking distance to the beach and everything else in Cane Garden Bay. Our room was clean, the bed was comfortable and we had a beautiful ocean view balcony. The only negative was very little hot water and no water pressure at all but we managed.
- Jo (10/5): - It was excellent place. Walking to everything!
- Erin (8/5): - Our room was beautiful, best view we could’ve imagined. Fresh flowers on the bed upon arrival. Great location within walking distance of multiple restaurants and a grocery store. People were very nice, and the community pool area was great as we had multiple groups of people in the hotel. AC worked great. We had lots of storage space as well.
A few sore spots - we weren’t aware that we’d have to walk up 4 flights if stairs to get to the room, including lugging up our suitcases and surfboards as there’s nobody to help you. Absolutely not for anyone who can’t do lots of stairs. While we had parking, you either park at the bottom of a wildly steep hill, or drive up (which was terrifying every time). We had chosen this hotel bc it had a kitchen in every room - but our stove was broken and microwave didn’t work. The toilet broke twice, and power went out for several hours the 3rd day we were there, wasn’t the end of the world just unexpected. There were also ants everywhere in the kitchen and bathroom when we arrived. It’s an island so, I get it, but just sharing for those with different expectations.
- Christine (10/5): Beautiful Stay - The property is located so close to everything. Up a steep hill but got easier each time!
The views are beautiful. The patio on the room even had a view!
- Ryan (10/5): - Great stay. Staff was great. Rooms spacious and clean. Less than 200 yards from beach, restaurants. Views were amazing. Some spots in Cane Bay are a bit grittier, but the beaches and this property were great.
- Joanne (8/5): - Another lovely stay at this beautiful property. So nice and quiet with a lovely little pool area all to ourselves every day. Handy for beach and shop.
- John (10/5): Great Hotel on Cane Garden Bay - I love this place and have stayed here several times over the last 15 years. It is not a 5 star resort but it is clean and the location on cane garden bay is fantastic. The owner is ver responsive and has done well in recovery after the hurricane. I would say it is in better than before the hurricane. The price is reasonable and the rooms are as described and commensurate for the price.
If the cruise boats are in port choose brewers bay for the beach day. Only 8 mins over the hill.
- Bill (10/5): - What a wonderful property. Located right across a small street to the most beautiful beach on Tortola. Lined with restaurants and bars in Tiki hut. Very comfortable room with amazing air conditioning. Although I had a limited view, most larger rooms do have a complete and full view of the Caribbean Sea. I however I had an efficiency, but still had a wonderful view. The host is amazing kind and courteous. I would not hesitate to here again in the future
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lighthouse Villas was perfect for us. Our studio apt had everything we needed and more. Sitting on our deck, watching the ocean and surrounding islands was magical. The beach was close, there were many choices of places to eat and a neighborhood grocery store. We plan to return next year. My only caution is that there is a short hill to climb to the villas and the studio apts require 1 or 2 flights to stairs. It height makes for fantastic views but it does require mobility.
- Joel (10/5): - Modern, clean, great AC. The owner is very sweet and attentive. A great place to stay while in CGB!
Note, if you have mobility issues, it's a VERY steep driveway, but no issues for us!
- Julia (8/5): - Nice villa, but We’d like to see some updates to decor. Ernesto knocked out wifi. We still enjoyed our 2 nights on Cane Garden Bay. Food at Bananas was superb!
- Wilbert Voyd Warren (10/5): - Property was not very clean at check-in but it was a day after hurricane so I guess explainable. Housekeeping came in next day and cleaned very well. Thanks to the property for allowing us to check in during a tough time
- Jacqueline (10/5): - This property was very well kept and walkable to a very beautiful beach and restaurants. The care takers of the property was easily accessible if we had any concerns.
- Margaret (10/5): - The host of this property, Malcia, was very accomodating and made our stay so pleasurable. She went above and beyond to help us when we arrived after a bareboat charter with a lot of luggage and gear. The housekeeping was wonderful and attentive. The Villa had a/c and was cool and clean. The Kitchen was well equipped. The grounds were tranquil and well manicured. I will definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.
- David (10/5): - Closes to beach, restaurants, beach bars, and a grocery store. Very nice ocean view! Full kitchen in 2B. Big patio, nice furniture, TV, all cable ch. Sweet pool with ocean view! Very nice BBQ area, covered with beautiful furniture. Everybody was so Nice!
- Veronica (10/5): - The property was in perfect location so close to the beach restaurants thay yoi dont need car we love it, the bedroom super clean kitchen we didnt use but need a little update but people there and cleaning is perfect! Definitely recommended and I will return
- Diane (10/5): - We loved Litehouse Villas! Great place to stay! The staff was amazing! Spectacular views too! Will definitely come back!
- John (8/5): - 2nd time we have stayed here. Very reasonable and a great area.
- scott (10/5): - The view from the balcony is amazing!
- Robert (10/5): Paradise - Spectacular in every way. Place is gorgeous. Staff is spectacular. Malcia is amazing. Wish we didn’t have to leave.
- Cheryl (8/5): Amazing view😍 - Friendly staff! Beautiful view! Great location!
- Tamika (10/5): - I love that it was clean, walking distance to the beach and numerous restaurants and the host was very friendly.
- Anne (10/5): Lighthouse views - Nice location although it’s a short steep hill to the units and some cab drivers can’t do it so carrying luggage was a pain. The flip side is it’s really close to the beach with a great view. It’s also far from the noisy bars, but close enough to walk to anything including grocery store and laundry (behind the store). Would stay here again
- Anne (10/5): Lighthouse views - Quiet but you can hear the waves on the beach, and far enough away from the bars so no loud music at night. Easy to walk to beach, store and restaurants. Quaint and perfect for me and my friends. It’s a steep walk up to the villas, but the views are worth it.
- Eleanor (10/5): - Amazing views and a great location! We used the pool and BBQ area which was a nice touch.
- Lynn (10/5): - Property was in a great location, clean and functional. Two minutes walk to the beach. Nice view of the ocean. The beachfront restaurants had good live music and food. On-site parking and the manager lady on-site was very nice.
- Ann Jo (8/5): Beautiful place in Cane Garden Bay in Tortola. - We had a lovely stay for 7 nights. Very relaxing and comfortable. A quick walk to the beach and close to restaurants and the market which was very convenient. . Beautiful bay and beach. Wonderful host who checked in on us to see if everything was ok. A treat to have a daily housekeeper. Would stay again. Highly recommend. It is up a very steep hill with stairs to accommodate the walk.
- Todd (8/5): - Nice condo! Very close to Cane Garden Beach
- Larry J (8/5): - The discrimination of the property did NOT mention the 4 floors of stairs and the steep inclined drive way.
The TV did work and the property manger had no clue how to make it work.
- Richard (4/5): - The refrigerator didn’t work. There was a coffee pot but no coffee or cream and sugar. WiFi went out right in middle of nfl playoff game. Hotel is dated but clean
- JASON (8/5): - Apartment was nice. Lots of small
Items missing. Very few kitchen items available to cook with. Fridge had major ice build up. Super location! If they’d spent a few thousand dollars on each unit to bring them out of the 70’s, this place would be great. Overall, we had a super time!
- Marc (6/5): Charming - Charming, out of the way place. Caution for very steep driveway and steep stairs to the top floor.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very cute and perfect for our night in Tortola. Very quiet!
- Mike (10/5): - The property is very convenient to the beach, restaurants, and grocery store. The property has wonderful views of Cane Garden Bay and beyond, especially from the center eight units. The house keeping staff was friendly, responsive and keeps the property in great shape. Would definitely stay again if returning to Cane Garden Bay.
- kathleen (8/5): - Great location. Driveway a little steep. Would stay again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Affordable and comfortable - The location is ideal in relation to Cane Garden Bay beach however the location is up a steep hill. Also stairs to the upper level units. No worries for us but be advised. The pool is small but the courtyard is neat and includes a little wet bar area for drinks. This was our 4th stay there without issue. Certainly not like Quito's next door but certainly not the same price either!!
- Susan (10/5): - Amazing Villa! Direct ocean view, huge room with kitchen AND pool, and a very short walk to the beach and tons of amenities - food, drink, music, people- watching!
- Cheryl (10/5): - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Walkable distance to grocery, beach, restaurants. Pool was small but wonderful for our group, and you could view the ocean. View from balcony was breath-taking. Would definitely stay here again.
- Debra (10/5): - It was charming. Customer service was excellent. The quiet bathing pool area was particularly nice with my coffee in the morning. Would stay there again without hesitation. And the view was outstanding.
- Jennifer (10/5): - The Lighthouse Villa was perfect for us! We loved the location, the accommodations, the courtesy and kindness we received from the owner and staff, and the magnificent view! The accommodations are not fancy or modern, but they were everything we needed. We loved our stay at The Lighthouse!
- Kym (10/5): - Tucked away from the street was this wonderful little hideaway with quaint rooms and full kitchen. best view of the bay for the dollar!
- kimberly (10/5): - Beautiful view
- Verified traveler (10/5): a gem at Cane Garden Bay - It may be a little outdated, but it is really nice. the rooms are spacious, the interior has nice colors, and the balcony with the view beats everything. not much communication with the owners, no reception, but everything worked out very well. Would definitely go again.
- Gordon (8/5): - amazing views and rustic quaint charm. if you want modern and high end irs next door for twice as much. this is not the hilton however we came to tortola for an authentic experience. very nice beach with interesting beach bars, limited food choices and nighttime activities.
- Evelyn (10/5): Great Stay in Cane Garden Bay - Steps to the beach - It was great - great area with many places to eat, steps to the beach and with free parking. Apartment was bigger than expected. A very comfortable and clean beach apartment.
- Bonnie (8/5): - Loved being footsteps from this gorgeous beach. The view was lovely from the balcony. Lots of restaurants with great food. Very nice owner and staff. Pots and pans and towels need replacing. The bed and bedding, however were great. Wi-Fi and TV cable reception did not work. Terrible grocery store nearby with meh fruits and veggies and what appeared to be outdated grey deli items. This greatly limited what we could cook for ourselves.
- Linda (8/5): - Location is perfect for walking to shops & restaurants. The view is UNBELIEVABLE! It took about a day and a half to get on the wifi. We didn’t get the TV to work in the 3 days we were there. The room has a small kitchen. The bathroom is functional. The floor is tile and has 2 steps between the bed and bathroom- a bit scary if you get up in the night. The steps up to our room were steep and narrow. The little pool was refreshing after a day at the beach.
- Loree (10/5): - The property and owner were lovely! It has such peaceful energy. I will most definitely return.
- ASHLEY (10/5): - We definitely will stay here again! Can walk to everything in Cane Garden Bay and the host was very accessible at all times!
- JOSEPH (10/5): - Marci the owner was so accommodating and the property is very close to the beach, great restaurants and a local grocery store. We stayed for a few days and loved it. You will not be disappointed!
- john (10/5): Great Property , Fantastic Value - The lighthouse Villas is an amazing property. It is in walking distance to everything in Cane Garden Bay (beach, restaurants, grocery stores). The view of the harbour from this charming property are breathtaking! Malcia , the proprietor of the Light House Villas goes out of her way to make you feel like family.
- Sikander (6/5): - Nice location, awesome view, dated facility, low water pressure, well equipped kitchen, comfortable bed. Walk to beach and to bars and restaurants, frequented mostly by guest who are sailing through.
- Hector (4/5): - Couldn't get any body to answer me. No Wi-fi. No Cell signal. Pool looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks. It was an overall bad experience.
Mind you, I've stayed here before. I don't think I would do so again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Highly recommended - Our stay was amazing. The rooms were very spacious, quiet and had everything we needed. Very short walk to great beach. Watching the sunset and view from the balcony was a highlight every day. Staff were always accommodating and made us feel right at home. The building is dated so has some issues with internet strength, water supply, but the owners were right on it! We will return.
- Kerry (10/5): - Great location, amazing view. Beach just across the street and grocery and restaurants within walking distance. Make sure you have a phone # for check-in. The office was closed when we arrived but once we found a number, check-in happened within minutes.
- william robert (10/5): - really relaxing feel about the place.
- Allan C. (8/5): Room with an awesome view! - Neat, clean property, nicely appointed and maintained. View from the balcony is amazing! Only challenges were poor communication with both VRBO and the manager as neither answered messages left, and a very steep little hilll to climb.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Dated but comfortable and spacious - The property has amazing views, however, it is dated. It does have AC which works well and beds are comfortable. Our suite, on the 3rd floor, was quite spacious. For the price compared to other new accommodations, it was to be expected.
- Dave (10/5): Very happy - Excellent stay. Malcia, the owner, was always available for local advice, help with taxis and seeing to our every need. Simone kept our room spotless. A couple of lights needed replacement and the tv didn’t work - but we didn’t need it. Hope to return.
- Irvin (10/5): - Another lovely relaxing stay at lighthouse. Matcia and Simone are the best. Thank you for a wonderful time on the BVI’s
- Holly (10/5): - The property is very well-maintained, clean with beautiful tropical foliage.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The plumbing was a real problem. Toilet trouble flushing and spraying on seat and shower floor; shower drain backed up so standing in 2” of dirty water; water pressure so poor couldn’t get soap off so couldn’t wash hair after snorkeling; roaches running around; the driveway was a steep cliff and no elevator to top floor;
View was great and reasonably furnished and clean. All activities are on other side so needed a 30 minute ride to go anywhere. Luckily there was one new good restaurant next door. Was a total ripoff for the price!
- Tom (10/5): - This was a hidden gem. We booked based on pictures and it exceeded our expectations. We would go back in a heart beat.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The good stuff - views from the room were fantastic, access to local restaurants and beach was great and bed was very comfortable! but ...
Bad - no welcoming packet with info on wifi, local attractions, etc, kitchen was completely outdated with 1930's Singer gas stove, sparse dishes/silverware, no sharp knives or corkscrew, bathroom had no exhaust and lights on mirror were so poor that couldn't see to shave, only two small bars of soap in the entire unit and no hand soap anywhere, missing light bulb in closet, we were told that the water was bad and we were advised to only drink bottled water, water heater was only 6 gal so barely enough for one person to shower, no smoke detectors, no paper towels, etc......
- DGauper (10/5): - This was the perfect place!!!! So close to all of the bars and restaurants on the beach. We did the two room Bedroom Penthouse suite. The king bed is in the main room with a sofa, and there is a table and kitchen. Queen bed is in a separate room. Everything was very clean, beach towels were included. Our favorite was there is the most adorable grilling area that we grilled shrimp and veggies. There was a table with two couches that we sat at. I would for sure come back here. Check in was so simple. We were greeted and brought right up to our room. This is a great place!!
- kemc (8/5): - Great view, easy walk to the beach. WIFI very weak in the room.
- TheKmons (10/5): - Located on a very steep incline, walking to and from the beach can be a bit of a challenge, but it's very close and has wonderful views. Located near restaurants and a grocery store. Felt very safe in the area. Malcia was very friendly and accomodating. We were very happy with our stay, room was spacious and decorated nicely.
- Nicolas (10/5): - Very nice rooms with everything needed. Fantastic location and great hosts.
- CharlieB (8/5): - Very nice people and cute place. Nice and clean. Amenities were adequate. Nice little coffee maker! Up a wicked steep hill but pretty good accessibility. Wifi was spotty, at best. Modem reception was fine but internet faded in and out. Pool was small but actually perfect for lounging and cooling off. Very friendly folks.
- Susan (8/5): - As this area is used for day outings for cruise ships, there are a few restaurants and shops in easy walking distance. The beach is great for swimming. Not much snorkelling. Locals are very willing to help with getting rides and renting cars, which you need if you want to explore Tortola. No bus or taxi service close by.
- Patricia (6/5): - No tv and internet problems randomly ..the villas are in a nice location though . Can't use a debit charge card to pay as the manager does not have a credit machine that works .
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Owner and helpers were very nice and accommodating.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very scenic location overlooking Cane Garden Beach. There is a new hotel which does block part of the view to the west of the rest of the "town" from the balcony but not really a issue, as the bay is what you want to see at sunset, WOW ! This new place is an attractive building plus it most likely helps to block noise and lights from the road in that direction as a bonus. The owner was wonderful and helpful ( and there !! ) when we arrived as scheduled ( OUTSTANDING compared to some of the other places we stayed at in BVI ). The entire unit has AC, not just the bedrooms like some other places too -- yay! If you have mobility issues though, you might want to inquire about a ground floor room as the stairs are steep and like alot of places I saw not designed for wheelchairs etc. Nicely decorated with basic but functional appliances and all the things ( plates / pans etc ) needed to prepare your own meals. Very nice if visiting off season ( Aug-Oct ? ) when ALOT of restaurants seem to be closed or on limited hours. There is a well stocked convenience store within walking distance just to the west as well as a number of beach bars and restaurants. The recovery from Irma is still ongoing especially the beach foliage / trees, so keep that in mind if viewing pre hurricane pictures. Tortola is a beautiful island and getting better every day, One Love BVI !
- Jonathan (10/5): - Amazing view, excellent service, easy walk to store, restaurants, beach.
- Brandy (10/5): - It was a beautiful property with a beautiful view. Right across the street from the beach with lots of things For kids and adults to do! Restaurants and grocery store all within walking distance.
Perfect for spending the day at the beach and coming back and relaxing in the pool. There is a grill to bbq or cook your own meal in your full kitchen. House keeping was amazing!
Very sweet helpful staff!!
We will come back to stay!
