- Thomas (8/5): The staff was great! Super friendly and very accommodating to our needs. We are vegan and she made sure we had enough - The location was great. Only about 15 minutes from the airport. The property was filled with beautiful flowers, plants, and visiting birds. We loved all the antiques and old pictures in the breakfast area. The room was plenty big for the two of us. The bed makes a LOT of noise every time I moved. I roll around a lot so it kept waking us up.
The shower head had wires (no connectors, just electrical tape) right above you while showering.

- Cheryl (9/5): Great place - Friendly staff, pretty gardens and close to the airport.
- Toa (10/5): Amabilidad - Me encantó la tranquilidad, los espacios verdes y el canto de las aves. Perfecto, para desestresarse antes de emprender un viaje largo (el aeropuerto está cerca). Gracias por todo!
- Melissa (10/5): Overall very pleased with my short stay. - Jesus was very helpful, he picked me up promptly from the airport and carried all my bags.
- Jimmy (7/5): Fair - Was good Communication, they did not have my reservation and they did not comply with transportation as they offer
- Ann-kathrin (9/5): Superb - The staff was super friendly, always available and also organized a Taxi early in the morning for our airport transport. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and we always felt really safe. The accommodation is a little dated but still a good place to stay.
- Daisy (9/5): Superb -
- George (10/5): We love the garden and the simplicity. - Breakfast was early since we had a plane to catch.
- Andrew (9/5): Great hostel, clean, quite, good breakfast. - Quite, clean, aircon,
- Peter (9/5): Very good value. - It was just what we needed. Very clean and well run, friendly, courteous staff, close to airport with own shuttle. Breakfast was good. Pizza restaurant just down the road. Small grocery store nearby. Playground and gardens across the street.
- Arturo (8/5): Very good -
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional - We stay here every time we fly in and out of Quito. Convenient to airport and extremely well run and organized. The park across the street is nice and there is a small grocery store nearby that we occasionally use.
- George (10/5): The garden is a rest for a weary traveler. - The most enchanting garden...simple, elegant, tranquil.
- Desicj (8/5): Adventure trip around Ecuador - The place we stayed in has a perfect location, close to the airport.
The hostel offered private transportation to and from the airport for a small fee.
The hosts were kind. They agreed to store some of our luggage for a few days, which made our trip around Ecuador as easy as possible. All available pillows in the apartment were firm and high.
- Rob (7/5): An amazing array of eclectic chairs throughout the property. - Breakfast was fairly good (coffee, tea, fruit juice , scrambled eggs, croissant, fruit bowl). Although staff tried to communicate, we did not speak their language and their speaking style/dialect could not be understood by our translation app which constructed nonsensical sentences and generated some comical errors. Neighborhood had roosters crowing and barking dogs constantly throughout the night. No air conditioning or fans to provide white noise to cover the sound of the animals.
- Lisa (10/5): excellent - great location near airport
awesome restaurant near by nothing
- Robin (7/5): Good -
- Karen (9/5): stayed there many times. lovely - lovely people work there. nice surroundings. helpful staff need more blankets on bed in cold weather
- Lg (9/5): Superb -
- Louis (6/5): Pleasant - Lovely place. Wish I could have seen more in the day time but I was only there for a few hours ....and real early flight.
- Helge (7/5): OK for one night, but a little bit expensive for what is offered. - We were looking for a one night stay close to the airport and Tababela was a good opportunity. Staff was very friendly, also the location close to the park was nice. We liked the big garden and breakfast area a lot. WiFi only worked at the beginning in our room. The sofa and the furniture inside our room were very worn out. The bathroom and bed were clean though.
- Reni (9/5): welcoming place and great value - location, friendly 24 hr staff, character of the hostel, great breakfast there was a faint smell of smoke in the room - not fresh, but perhaps someone smoked in it in the last, room did not have windows that we could open so it could not be aired out
- Camila (10/5): Exceptional -
- Susan (9/5): Superb -
- Clayton (2/5): Quito disappointment - Freezing cold, leaves blowing in under the door, windows banging from the wind, cobwebs around the door, poor staff except one young lady. I will not return.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - I always stay at this hotel because it is family owned and I like to support that, also it is quaint and I love the family pictures in the dining room. Staff is always friendly and awake at insane hours to get me a taxi to the airport. They do their best and the price is right.
- Sarah (10/5): - My children and I love El Parque. The place was like home away from home! The staff were all very kind and very helpful, always available to help or respond to our questions.
We look forward to visiting El Parque, again!
May the Lord bless and prosper the Landlord, his family and all the wonderful Staff at this property, in Jesus Precious Name, Amen!!
Remain ever blessed!

- Geary (6/5): Close to Quito airport - It is only ten minutes from the Quito airport. The breakfast could use some more imagination . Through no fault of the owners, there were neighborhood dogs barking all night. Not a great value for the money but it served its purpose. No one speaks English. I would stay there again but not with my wife.
- Quito Gringo (8/5): Quiet hostal close to the airport. - I have stayed here multiple times. Very easy stop for late night arrival or departure. Staff is friendly. Family owned, I believe.
- Mina (8/5): Close to the airport for a quick layover - This was very adequate for a 12 hour layover at Quito airport. About 10 minutes from the airport, I think about a $10 taxi ride, $5 return ride through the front desk.
Beautiful garden area to relax in. Hot showers. Decent wifi.
The double rooms are fine but the triple rooms are quite nice for the price!
There are a couple of small restaurants in the neighborhood that you can walk to.
- Irene (8/5): - We had a lot of difficulty getting the hotel to arrange airport pick-up. We called the hotel directly 2 times, but no one spoke English to help us. I got my dad who speaks fluent Spanish to call and after a short discussion he got hung up on (or disconnected?). Finally I called Hotels.com for assistance. The first customer service agent said that she can't help because they do not deal with transportation, only the hotel booking. After calling again later I finally got someone at hotel.com to help us contact the hotel to make the arrangements for the hotel pickup. The hotel advertises $10.00 return airport transportation, but clearly the process is not in place to provide this service. We ended up paying $10.00 one way and then $5.00 return to the airport in the morning. Besides that everything at the hotel was fine. Check in was prompt even through the language barrier. The room was much larger than expected, with a queen, double and single bed for the two of us. The room was clean. The suicide shower was a little scary, but I survived. It would be nice to have some bottle water provided. The hotel is central to a number of small shops, restaurants and a cafe'/bakery, and a lovely town centre across the road. It was very quiet and the breakfast was fine (typical Ecuadorian breakfast of eggs, bun, butter and jam, with fresh fruite juice and coffee) at no extra charge. I would stay here again.
- george (8/5): Close to airport - The area is vey safe. The Hotel grounds are beautiful. Right across street from Tababella city park. Beautiful in itself with benches and a playground. The room was clean and comfortable. Lighting was very poor in the room. The ceiling fixture was broken. In the bathroom, the mirror wasn't over the sink. It was sort of behind the door. Also, the shampoo dispenser did not work and the body soap one was only good for one shower. Dispensers are how one gets their soap in the shower. There are many places to eat within walking distance. Finally, they took me to the airport ($10.00) on time. But I felt the cost was steep for an old car that I wasn't going to make it. There are adequate taxis in the area.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Hotel in pleasant quasi-rustic setting. - Basically good. It was close to airport for inexpensive shuttle service with my luggage and also had good suburban city bus service that connected the hotel's Tababela neighborhood to both the airport and the city of Quito where I could transfer to the Quito Bus Rapid Transit service to center of town and elsewhere.
Although the hotel itself was not a farm, it bordered on them to make for a pleasant rustic-like setting. The town still had good amenities like small restaurants and coffee shops, etc. I got my exercise walking between the hostel and the suburban city bus stop for service to both Quito and the airport on the main highway.
I got to see most of what I intended to such as: El Mitad Del Mundo; the Teleferico, etc. It was fun and challenging walking up the steep pathways in the old part of Quito to visit Plaza Principe, etc. The only bad side: being able to safely cross the street at the various pedestrian crossings where drivers have no consideration for the safety of either pedestrians--or of other vehicles.
- Verified traveler (10/5): nice and relaxing - very helpful staff.. very honest people
nice place to stay
- Kenny (8/5): nice honest people - I have stayed there several times now, and am happy with the service. I had to leave some bags there for a few days, and all was ok when I returned, very serious and honest people.
- Ralph (8/5): Friendly welcoming staff, comfortable bed - Simple but adequate facilities and proximity to the airport make this an excellent choice. Pick up and drop off at the airport can be arranged at a very reasonable price. Frank at the desk was very helpful and printed out my boarding pass. He was also extremely patient with a very annoying guest.
- Jose Luis (8/5): Overbooked but great service - We didn't stay here cause it was overbooked but the owner took us to a different hotel. Very pleasant and caring gentleman. Area is secluded from all the noise and easy to get to the airport.
- Kelly (6/5): Great airport location - We weren't at this hotel long enough to get a real feel for it as we arrived late in the evening and left early the next morning. The room was small, but comfortable enough for the short stay. The man who checked us in was very friendly and helpful. Very convenient location for the airport at a reasonable price.
- Scott (10/5): Great clean, clean, clean, Hostal! - I've stayed here before and will stay again. Very close to airport (5-6 minute ride) and inexpensive. This place is immaculately clean as well. It does have the scary suicide showers, but the water was perfectly hot each time I've been here...4 or 5. Nothing very fancy, but it's certainly all I ever need for a 1 night layover while going back to US or Cuenca. The people who work here are very nice as well.
- Frank (8/5): Better than nothing - Was only there a few hours it is one of the only places to stay that is close to the new airport for an early flight
- Verified traveler (4/5): Overpriced, outdated - Most of the staff at this hotel are very helpful. The hotel is also close to the airport, which is why I chose it. However, I will not stay here again and would not recommend it. It is overpriced for what it is. Our room was "cold" in the comfort sense, and there was a lot of noise coming from outside the room.
- Claus (4/5): Only if you must - Convenient to the airport - yes. But the rooms were a ramshackle assembly of recycled building materials and the staff seemed burned out. Didn't even remember to call a cab for our 5:00 am departure.
- Deidre (10/5): Perfect place near the airport for overnight+ - Had an overnight in Quito before flying to the Galapagos the next day- this is a perfect place to do it- it is very close to the airport (Quito city is 1.5 hrs + drive away from the airport)! The service was absolutely impeccable, with your ever need attended to. It was easy to arrange for transfers to and from the airport (I didn't want to deal with any of it because I was flying in at midnight and having to leave the next day early for another flight). They had someone waiting for me at the airport with my name, and they were right back again, on time to take me to the airport. The man who was running the hotel was so nice, and the room was perfect, so clean and comfortable. He even made sure to knock on my door to wake me up so I didn't miss my early flight the next morning. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!! Close to the airport!!! Will definitely use again for any layovers or even longer :) People so helpful!
- Jay (8/5): Late night connecting flight - We checked in late and had to fly out early the next morning. I had read in other reviews about the desk charging the room even if it was paid online. I printed out my receipt, but the front desk did try to charge the card again (we'll see how that works out once I get home......).
That being said, the room and bathroom was plain but very clean. We didn't even turn on the tv, just crashed in the bed.
The front desk gave us our wake up call (Buenos Dias with a loud knock on the door) promptly at 6:00 and the shuttle there at 6:30 sharp. The shuttle was $10, paid at the hotel.
The staff was very friendly and did a great job. We were only there a matter of hours- it was worth the price to rest, take a shower and change clothes without having to go further into Quito for a room.
