Allyn (7/5): Initially disappointed we didn't get what we expected but not disappointed with the room as a whole. - Great location, garden is gorgeous, rooms well stocked, bed and couch was very comfortable and there were good ammenities like the kitchenette, dining table, and fire place. Initial ad on booking.com made us think we were getting a separated cabin with a jet tub, we were pretty disapointed to find out that wasn't the case and instead were in a larger building with multiple units. Every listing for each room had the same photos so we thought they would all be the same. Our ceiling fan was very loud when we turned it on, bathroom door would not close all the way/got very stuck, and there were a couple of obvious holes in the tops of our sheets.
amy g (10/5): Shadow Mountain Lodge is not to be missed! - The property is lovely! The owners have put admirable work into the grounds and facilities. We had an enjoyable and relaxing evening sitting on the porch watching the pines waft in the breeze. The room, window treatments and overall appointments were tasteful and cabin-like. The kitchenette was handy and well equipped for our needs. The bed was comfy and the bath facilities clean and well maintained. And, the instant hot water was an unexpected pleasure. The owners too, were personable and more than willing to provide for our needs. We will certainly return. Maybe knit picky…but the dinette table was too tall for the chairs. I had to fold up a blanket and put it on the chair to comfortably sit at the table. Some cushions on those chairs might be a good touch.

Nice furnished kitchen setup but checked out Anaheim Jacks on her recommendation and enjoyed the burgers and fresh cut fries. Too cool of an evening or would have relaxed in the chairs on the porch, so instead enjoyed a comfy fire (log furnished) and a good book. Bed was very comfortable and nice fluffy towels Definitely will stay longer next visit.

Mikayla (10/5): Very nice cabin overall - This was a very nice cabin in Ruidoso and fully met our expectations. The cabin was cute with a fireplace that warms the entire place easily. Also had a fridge and stove so you could even cook if preferred. Very close to downtown and great price compared to others in the area. My only possible complaint that I feel is worth mentioning is the “hot tub” is a tub with jets and the hot water runs out too quickly to actually enjoy it which was a little disappointing since we were looking specifically for a place with a hot tub. I only mention it because if you’re booking to enjoy that you’re not going to be satisfied however, for the price I do not feel like that was a deal breaker for us.

They are located off the main road where the loudest noise was the wind rushing through the trees. I highly recommend Shadow Mountain Lodge. There is nothing I didnt like. The mattress topper wanted to slip off the edge, but dont they always?

Filomeno (10/5): This place is a great place for a couple and is within walking distance from a mexican restaurant. - We stay at Shadow Mountain Lodge at least twice a year because it is an extremely relaxing place for a couple , and has everything you need to enjoy a few days. It is a mile away from Grindstone Lake where you can enjoy some fishing or hiking time. Not finding a cutting board in the unit when we needed it, but it was immediately rectified by calling the front office. We will continue to stay at this lovely place because we have never had any major issue.

Sarah T.O. (10/5): Great stay, will definitely go back! - Very cozy, super cute inside well set up with dishes and everything needed to cook ourselves, great location and very clean. Loved that it was pet friendly so we were able to bring our pups. Staff was super helpful, available for questions and they made our late check in very convenient. There's not much of a view when you sit on the outside, though the trees are pretty, so if you're staying only there, the lack of mountain scenery could be a negative but it's a short drive away from higher points with a view and a chance to hike.

Marco Becerra (8/5): Todo perfecto, pero mala suerte la nuestra - La ubicacion fue muy buena, la cabaña en si todo esta muy bonito las instalaciones y areas comunes son maravillosas. A pesar de esta ocasión haber tenido mala suerte, nos volveríamos a quedar aqui. Siempre es un 10/10 pero en esta ocación hubo algunos detalles que me decepcionaron por lo acostumbrados que estabamos a la excelencia del lugar. En primer lugar la cama era demasiado ''suave'' se hundia y no pudimos descansar bien, la regadera se tapaba y no se iba el agua al bañarte, pregunte por un leño que siempre viene incluido para la fogata y les comenté que no habia y me dijeron que el primero era gratis pero que despues lo cobraban, creo que no me explique pero nunc hubo un leño de cortesía tuvimos que comprar uno em Albertsons, y para nuestra mala suerte (que esa fue culpa mía) la cabaña que elegimos estaba a un lado del cuarto de servicio y lavado, por lo que era imposible una siesta si había alguien lavando ropa porque la cabecera y mesitas de noche se movián demasiado y el ruido era muy fuerte.
