Everything about the property is impeccably maintained, from the rooms themselves to the beautiful gardens throughout the grounds. You can tell the owners and staff take pride in the place. We stayed in a river view room and the view was spectacular, with a completely uninterrupted outlook over the Columbia River and gardens. Loved sitting by the window eating Thai takeaway while watching the river. The room was extremely comfortable, especially the bed, and we had one of the best nights’ sleep of our trip. The staff were also genuinely warm and friendly, which made the stay feel even more welcoming. We would return here in a heartbeat and can’t recommend it highly enough! There was some water on the bathroom floor when we arrived, not really a big deal though

The room was very clean, the bed extremely comfortable with lots of pillows, and the views - the VIEWS - oh my goodness - just stay there! Not only are the views extraordinary, but the grounds themselves are meticulously kept with gorgeous plants, trees, and colorful, blooming flowers. The staff was wonderful, too! I have already recommended it to others and hope to be back someday! Thank you to the owners for creating such a peaceful and soul-filling piece of heaven!

Very clean rooms with thoughtful amenities. Staff was courteous. Rooms nearer the highway might be louder, but it did not impact my quality of sleep.

It was refreshing to find a family owned property that has continued the legacy with updates and improvements. Even though the rooms were slightly dated, attention to maintenance and personal needs of the guest were apparent everywhere. Our multi generation family was pleased with this experience. We will be back.
Erik (9/5): Beautiful and reasonably priced property - Fabulous room, overlooking the Hood River. Property has a lovely area on the cliff's edge with comfortable chairs, picnic table and even a firepit. We enjoyed an evening glass of wine while taking in the view. Area was quiet and peaceful, just a short drive from the restaurants in Hood River. Staff gave us fabulous dining recommendations during check-in. We will definitely stay here again if we are in the area. No real recommendations for improvement. Dining required a short drive but easy enough.

Quiet, immaculate, and nicely appointed, with friendly and helpful staff. I've been coming here for years and it just keeps getting better as the team upgrades the rooms and amenities even as rates remain reasonable and the value high. Can't recommend the Westcliff-- and Hood River-- highly enough.

DayTrip535373 (10/5): Westcliff Lodge for the win! - My son and I stayed at the Westcliff Lodge for 3 nights while hiking in the area. We were in Cabin #29. Simply a fantastic space with fully equipped kitchen, fireplace and even a jacuzzi tub. This hotel is truly a gem. Just a few miles from downtown Hood River. Easy access to the highway. Take a stroll around their beautiful grounds and enjoy the views of the Columbia river along with a nice cup of coffee from their lobby. Truly a great value. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Hood River.

Everything was working and the place was super clean. Stunning view from the garden too! Can't think of a thing. The front desk was very helpful and got us into the room early, so we could really enjoy our 1-night stay!

The room was a tad dated, but super clean and comfortable, and staff was very friendly. The view and grounds were nice and the price very reasonable.The hotel is a short drive from downtown Hood River. Would definitely stay there again.

Delighted to have binoculars and a bird book inside for great opportunity for bird watching and some firewood outside to be used in the wood fireplace in our room or the adjacent firepit outdoors.

The rooms are comfortable and well designed, if a little old. The TVs stream in addition to having local channels. But best of all is the staff. The front desk/manager was so kind and thoughtful. The rooms are a little on the older side.

For a room this size, it really should have a larger 55" or bigger, with ability for guests to cast / stream from their personal devices

Roseanne (9/5): Quiet, river & garden view, quick to town & freeway, comfy bed - I was in room 20 which website described as partial river view with king bed. This room actually has a wonderful view of the river as well as the property's gardens. The fluffy towels and sheets were white & super clean, as well as the entire room. I liked being able to park right outside the door. No stairs. Location is quick to restaurants etc in Hood River and quick to the freeway. Room 20 is in a block of rooms set far from the freeway & I couldn't hear any road noise. Unlike some other places I've stayed, the fridge was quiet (in other places its running would wake me up). Stayed for 2 nights. I'm a tea drinker. So it would have been nice to have a way to heat water. Staff said I could come to the office for hot water. But the office is not close. Instead, I brought my own water kettle.

Reed (10/5): Roomy and comforting! - Clean and spacious rooms with 2 queen beds exceeded my expectations. I'm only sad that I don't travel this route very often. Otherwise it would be my go to hotel on EVERY trip!
j0dyvery (10/5): for the love of dogs and beautiful landscapes - We have stayed at the Westcliff for years. Every return seems to get better. I find the actual downtown of Hood River noisy and hard to sleep with the trains and the interstate. This location is peaceful, beautiful, so clean, and well loved. My dogs have a great stay here too.

KatBoise (10/5): Great location and dog friendly. - Westcliff is our favorite place to stay in Hood River. The grounds are beautiful, the rooms are clean, roomy and well appointed. I’d recommend a river view room with balcony overlooking the river. And best of all for us, dogs are allowed and welcomed.

The Westcliff Lodge was perfect; peaceful, quiet, a beautiful view of the Columbia River and the grounds are beautiful. Everything was clean, the bed was comfortable and we slept like babies!

jungleman77 (8/5): Clean and neat room, beautiful grounds, wonderful view! - The exterior of the building made me a little hesitant at first, wondering if the inside would be a bit worn and old. But that was not the case. The room was clean, neat and new. The grounds are beautiful. One section is set up for events, overlooking the Columbia River. The location of the Westcliff Lodge is convenient and easy to get to without traffic. The office offers tons of indoor and outdoor games for families with children.

Convenient location, helpful and happy staff, clean facility, ease of check in and out The room is not the most modern, but is clean, well appointed and fits the vibe. ashaw5129 (10/5): Rested - I have stayed at Westcliff Lodge multiple times. I only live twenty miles away from there and I stay there when I need to get away and reboot. Best sleep, best shower, best view and best staff. Nothing to ever complain about or be grumpy about. I am so grateful that they are located near me and I found them.

We live in La Grande and Hood River is a great midpoint. We have stayed at Westcliff in the past and have always been impressed with the cleanliness of the rooms and grounds, the great views of the Columbia River and Washington State, and the great landscaping at Westcliff.

497jacobj (10/5): Great Value and Great View - Westview Lodge has a fantastic area to look out over the Columbia River and read a book, play a board game, and sip a nice local Hood River beer. The rooms were comfortable and clean. A great place to stay and relax for a couple of days, or to unwind after a long day of activities.

jamesdL1204ZF (10/5): A Clean, Affordable Hotel on the River - We had an excellent stay at Westcliff Lodge. The room was spacious, clean and had a great view of the Columbia river. The rate was very reasonable. Be aware that the mattresses and pillows are on the firm side. Love the hotel grounds!
susanbehrman (10/5): An unexpectedly great experience - We stayed at Westcliff Lodge on a trip to the Oregon coast. Knowing nothing about it, other than the good reviews it had online, and that dogs were allowed, we booked a riverfront room. The room was spacious, pretty and clean. The gardens are simply wonderful. Everything from checkin to a quiet nights sleep in a comfortable bed makes us want to return.

miomalley27 (10/5): QUALITY AND CARING - This lodge was built with the comfort and privacy of the guests in mind. Quality over profit and a good experience was obviously the motivation of the people who built this place. It's well maintained, surprisingly quiet, the view is wonderful. I felt I was taken back in time to when America put family well-being and experience above corporate profit. We loved our stay and wished we'd had more time to hang out.

Huge rooms compared to chain hotel brands. Ground floor room has a patio area. Outstanding value. Helpful staff, would gladly stay there again.
