- Veronique (8/5): - Because all the hotels were booked we ended up at Pioneer. The apartment was big. The price of was very low. The staff made everything to make us happy. Just be aware some rooms have old and noisy aircons and some rooms have new ones (strong and a bit fussy to adjust though) and only cold water is available for showers. This known, if you want to go on a boat to see the dolphins at the marina early morning this is the perfect place to be. A big thank to the kind staff.

- Alicecyl (8/5): - There are a lot of parking space in front of the hotel. The breakfast is not buffet type but it is plenty. The staff is friendly and helpful. The room is spacious and clean. There is no hair dryer in the room, but we got one hair dryer from the housekeeping. There is no any kitchen facilities such as plates, forks in the kitchen. It will be better to have more vegetable for the breakfast. The refrigerator is rusty.

- Omar (6/5): Disappointing Stay with Poor Comfort, Cleanliness, and Security - Good location with enough number of parking slots The mattress is very old and uncomfortable, making it difficult to get a good night’s sleep. The curtains are ineffective at blocking sunlight, which made the room too bright in the early morning. Overall cleanliness needs serious improvement — the cabinet was covered in dust, indicating a lack of thorough cleaning. Security is a major concern: there were no keys provided for the rooms, and the main door of the apartment could not be locked. The breakfast offering was highly misleading. There were no real options available — we were served eggs drenched in tomato sauce and salt, along with a small portion of cornflakes.

- Nieshka (9/5): Budget friendly, clean and convenient stay in Muscat for the family - The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, allowing us for an early check in (after overnight flight it was a blessing). We got family room with 2 joined bedrooms and small kitchenette (there was small fridge but no pots or plates provided). The breakfast allowed us to start the day easily. There's lot of parking spaces in the area. The choice of meals for the breakfast could have been bigger.

First of all, my air conditioner and light were broken, and I had to ask more than once in order to get them repaired (and they repaired only the air conditioner). The breakfast has few choices and the quality is low. Pool and gym are opened from 6:00 to 18:00, therefore it is very difficult to manage to go there for turists, who visit the city all day long. Finally, the shower is impossible to be used, and it is not clean (as the entire room).

One of the best hotels with amazing staff who are very friendly, professional, and very helpful. They go out of their way to ensure that their guests have a comfortable stay and attend to their guests’ every small requirement. From the Hotel manager to the reception staff and the House-keeping boys just team-up as one family and leave no stone unturned until their guests are at ease. The rooms are comfortable, spacious, with an excellent view. It is away from the noisy city, with utter quietness, and very convenient and well located with supermarkets & restaurants in walkable distance. I highly recommend this Hotel which is indeed a wonderful experience. The guests are pampered and addressed by their names, noting down their smallest requirement. It is indeed worth noting that the staff have an eye for every tiny detail of the guests and a proper hand-over is done, not to miss out on anything. At a point, the manager even went an extra mile to buy a mosquito bat in order to tackle the issue of the swarming mosquitoes in the hotel, due to weather-change, which was really very touching. They take the guests’ problems as their responsibility and try their best to resolve it. It is their ever willingness to help the guests, that makes staying in this Hotel, a very unique experience. I strongly recommend this Hotel and feel all should experience this themselves.
- 539berndg (8/5): Good apartment with very good service - On the last days of my Oman road trip I stayed in Muscat. The apartment complex is on the outskirts of the Capital which I found ideal, others may find too far away from the hot spots. If you have a car, everything is possible. The service, reception and everything was really good, friendly people made me feel good. The apartment was really big, two rooms, two bathrooms. I really used only one room and one bath. The only flaw was a loud noise from a restaurant‘s fan in the house, which was really low vibrating noise. You were never sure, when they started it. I heard it at daytime but especially at night time, one night at 2 o clock. I went to the receptionist, he was very sorry and they turned it off. But on other occasions they started over again. I was able to ignore it. For somebody else it might be a reason to leave. All in all a very good base for trips through Muscat (if you have a car).
- cyow (8/5): Friendliest service in a nice hotel - My first visit to Oman was a wonderful experience made better by the friendly staff at the hotel. The room was very large and well appointed with excellent air conditioning and very good wifi coverage. The beds were quite comfortable and my room had a separate living room and separate kitchenette with a dining table. Quite a large living space! Unfortunately there was no fridge in the room which was odd considering it had the kitchenette. The room came with breakfast included which was made to order from a small but adequate menu. Once again, the service was quick and very friendly. I had been forewarned about the warmth of the people in Oman, and this hotel was proof of how polite and friendly the staff can be.
- kimonh2018 (10/5): Great hotel! Wonderful staff! Highly recommended. - First and foremost: the best hotel staff in town. Those guys are amazing. So friendly, professional, reliable and helpful. The rooms are good and spacious. The location is nice, I enjoyed the mountain-view from my window. It is not in the center of the city but well placed for tours by boat and by car and the distance to the city locations you'll want to visit is small. And being in the city center is not a real advantage in Muscat because there is not one single center and in any case you'll never explore anything by foot anyway.

- steve8171 (10/5): Mr steve cart - First time in Oman, and was not sure what to except. We booked into the pioneer hotel as it was near to where our son works just out side muscat. The hotel firstly let us check in early due to our early flights, the staff were very friendly and helpful, our two bedrooms apartment was excellent, the hotel had a great roof top pool to relax and sunbath and a nice sitting area inside and small patio outside to sit, we eat every night in there restaurant great choice of food very nice, It is in a residential area with a corner shop and the locals very trendy and felt very safe, For value for money I will return to hotel later this year

Breakfast included, but no breakfast buffet available ( à la carte only), no variety of breakfast meals, Free parking. If you have a car, location is good, you can reach all amenities easily. Really fair price.
- Wongsawangtham (2/5): Bad experience - The bed was comfortable and the room was big enough. Rather than that location is bad. Parking was awful it literally ruined my car. Hospitality was really poor. Staff were not professional and not friendly. The room was not clean enough and we found bugs on the bed while sleeping .Price is not reasonable there are way better hotels in Muscat with cheaper price. The pictures of the hotel are way different than real. Swimming pool is very small. I had such a bad experience at this hotel. I recommend this hotel only in the case that you want to book a room to sleep at night with no facilities and just for the sake of a place to sleep.
- SuzyCapel (10/5): You get what you pay for. Great staff! - We stayed here for 2 nights in December. The hotel is exactly as it is described. We booked a two bedroom apartment. The rooms were large, clean and relatively modern and had all the items listed when we booked. The rooftop pool was clean but too cold to go in which was disappointing. Breakfast was pleasant although you only had 1-2 items on the menu to choose from but the food quality was good and adequate portion size. There was a good choice of food to choose for lunch or dinner should you stay in the hotel to dine. The restaurant was open all day and very reasonably priced. I would recommend the noodle and the curries (especially the chicken masala). There was adequate parking at the front of the hotel and leaflets of all the top tourist attractions in the seating area of the lounge. You could also change currency at the reception desk. Location was great for us as we wanted to be on the outskirts of the city, however, if you want the hussle and bustle of the city this isn't the area to choose as it was very quiet and peaceful. What made the hotel stand out for us was the staff who were friendly and went out of their way to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. One evening we had torrential rain and there was a power cut for approx 3 hours, the staff were very apologetic and offered us dates, coffee and chai tea which I had never tried before and thoroughly enjoyed. They couldn't apologise enough for the inconvenience and were so hospitable. We also met the General Manager who talked to us about the hotel and places to visit in Oman and Muscat. He even offered me his hat and coat when my daughter and I went out for a walk in the rain. A true gentleman. In my overall opinion, you get what you pay for and the hotel is exactly as described. If you prefer a small hotel with welcoming and friendly staff this is the one to choose. Thank you for an enjoyable stay and should we return to the beautiful city of Muscat in the future we would certainly stay here again.

Le seul point faible est la literie... assez dure cependant ayant été dans d'autres hôtels nous avons constaté que c'était le même problème. - 765veronicaa (8/5): Good for what you pay - It is a nice hotel, it was perfect for what we needed. We were two couple so we rented an apartament with two bedrooms. The service was really good and staff very nice. Well located, a little bit far away if you want to do things around the marina.
- theChilean (10/5): Nice stay - We stayed here for two nights when we started our Oman trip and then for three more nights at the end. People at the reception and the girl at the restaurant are incredibly nice. They even gave us a welcome ice cream and drink (since it was National Day). The pool was clean and great! We had two rooms with a bathroom each so that was perfect. The kitchen did not have a microwave but only on our last day we realized you can ask for one! You need a car in Muscat, yes or yes. Location was great as it was super easy to locate and to move around. I’d stay here again!
- arfanhanif69 (10/5): Value for money Hotel - with great customer service - Stayed just over a week at the hotel. Very spacious rooms with bedroom. living room, kitchen/dining area and 2 toilets. Not luxurious but good for the price. A bit out of the way however bus stop just outside which takes directly into Ruwi (little India) and from there you can get to most parts of Muscat really cheap. For less than a fiver you could travel most of Muscat and return to your hotel via public buses (red) - the buses are modern with air conditioning . Taxis are available most of the time outside however you will need to haggle as they are expensive - recommend bus. Also if you are up for it you could walk to al-bustan (about 30 to 45 mins walk) - lovely little beach used by locals. The Hotel staff are very friendly and will try there best to meet your needs. All can speak good English. Rooms are cleaned to a high standard on a daily basis with water provided daily - advice bring your own shower gel as only soap and shampoo provided. Breakfast is sufficient but not too much choice - you can ask for fresh omelettes to be made. Nice little pool up stairs - they are in process of building a gym as well. Next door are local shops and take aways. Recommend 'Star Cafe' - cheap and gives large portions. Offer Indian, Chinese and Philippine food. All in all a good hotel and one I would recommend and would probably stay again if I visit Muscat again.
- Travelcarefully (2/5): Staff stole clothing etc - I stayed at this hotel for almost a month. I stored a suitcase and bags at the hotel when I flew to Qatar. When I retrieved my things, clothing, computer items, toiletries and papers were missing. The night I collected my items the hotel manager did not even know where they were! It took half an hour for him to find them! He said "they were not in the usual place". Indeed. They had been taken for pilfering! Also, the location is terrible - taxis cost a fortune to get anywhere. And don't be fooled by the photos. The decor is old. Huge regret about staying there.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We had a one bedroom apartment here. The apartment was large and well equipped. It was fairly clean. The restaurant was very humble. The breakfast buffet is only served when they have a full house. There are no proper restaurants nearby, but a very good, very very simple grilled chicken place about 200 meters from the hotel.

- janandjohn76 (10/5): A great visit thanks to the very helpful staff here - Located a little away from the main tourist part of Muscat, this hotel was a real delight. The apartment room was spacious and clean with good a c and wifi connection. The attached café served a limited menu but all freshly cooked, healthy and delicious at a very reasonable cost. Our favourites were the curries an biryanis, freshly squeezed orange juice and fruit salads The rooftop pool was very relaxing with lovely views particularly at sunset when the mountains behind the hotel turned golden. On our last morning we enjoyed a leisurely breakfast by the pool The staff at the hotel could not have been kinder, going out of their way to assist us and always with a smile. We were helped to negotiate with taxis and also to arrange a driver to take us in to the interior for a fantastic day out at Niswa (the old capital of Oman) and the green mountain.
- AgaXZ (10/5): Excellent value for money but you need car. - I booked it for 2 days as a starter to my last minute trip to Muscat. I extended by one more day as it was really good value for money and good standard. It's almost at the end of Al Wadi Kabir. I had a bit of a trouble finding it, as address did not give exact number or location. Make sure you check location and print a map. I just drove on Al Wadi Kabir street until I found it. I saw a bus stop nearby so it's possible to use public transport to stay there. It's close to Al Bustan, Sultan Palace and Yiti beach. There's a pool on a roof and couple of sunbeds. I would advise going there in the morning as later it's getting busy. Staff was very nice and helpful, room was adequate for 3 days stays. It was in good condition but I'm afraid it may deteriorate in couple of years as you can see that furniture is cheap and some of them were already falling apart. I would stay again for a couple of days.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Value for Money - Although slightly out of the way the service and smiles make up for that in spades. The staff are happy and eager to serve. Rooms are roomy and building is well kept. An though clean and well served the restaurant is limited Expect that you may need to go out for meals too. Loverly deep clean pool. It's real value. I would use it again.
- katie_emma_reeves (10/5): Hospitable, clean, spacious, reasonably priced hotel - We got a very good deal to stay in the one bed apartment (travelled with children ages 5-8). The staff were courteous welcoming and had lovely dates and coffee on arrival. The decor is glitzy not my cup of tea but that is not why you come here. It is well located for Al Bustan and a trip into Muttrah. Room was clean, pillows and bed comfortable (but short). Has a kitchen, kettle but not well equipped, fridge, tv's in rooms two bathrooms and showers (ensure hot water heater is turned on) good views to mountain in front. We had breakfast in the coffee shop the omelette and foul were good. When we left my daughter had left her beloved bunny rabbit in the reception area they phoned to let us know even on an international number - that is service and kindness!
- P7846QYsarahm (10/5): Lovely reasonable priced hotel - Stayed in Pioneer hotel for 3 days early Jan.We had 2bedroom apartment very spacious.Eveeywhere was spotlessly clean and bright.All staff so friendly and helpful.Mohadillin at reception very helpful..We had breakfast every morning which was varied and tasty even though not always western.Meals not included in price.We also had dinner on one evening and I found it very tasteful.Muscat stretches out so hotel not tooo far from any interesting places in the city.30 mins from airport and 10-15from souk in taxi .Pool area lively
- joannalan (10/5): Excellent excellent hotel. - Very good hotel and excelllent value. We had a suite with separate living room, two bathrooms and a kitchen. Two flat screen TVs. Squeaky clean. Breakfast is not included but there is a kitchen and a nice corner store just a few doors down. Very easy,, and more pleasant, to have breakfast in the room. The staff will provide a hob and a microwave upon request. The staff is very very accommodating and helpful. I couldn't say enough about how great they are. A car is helpful but not necessary. Lots of cabs around and not rxpensive to get cabs. Although, cabs in Muscat do not presently have meters and cabbies will charge what they want. Need to be careful to know how much different trips will cost. Meters expected in mid 2017. Very good restaurant will bring room service to the pool on the roof.
- Shawn (10/5): Clean, convenient and great value - Great experience. Front desk reps were very nice and accommodating. Initially I was checked in a non-smoking room that smelled smoke, but they quickly transferred me to another room. Cons: bed could have been a little softer.
