• Diana (6/5): - Overall pretty good. We did have old leftover pizza from someone else in our fridge. The room was really hot when we walked in and the side of the bed had a bracket sticking out which you could easily hurt your ankle on (multiple times).

• James (6/5): Very disappointed. Window taped with duct tape! - Never stayed in a hotel room with an air con unit fed out the window and held up with polystyrene and duct tape stuck to the window. Gross! View was of an old trailer park and a car junk yard.

• Crystal (7/5): - The property has a good location, walking distance along the river to town with restaurants. We chose this property because it was on the town side of the hwy, not a ton of options when we arrived as most newer hotels seem to be on the hwy. Bed was comfortable and easy check in. Even day of, was a lot less expensive through booking then it was as a walk in. Fairly simple rooms. Was a high price for the hotel in comparison to what we got in other towns.

Overall it was nice for a couple of nights but we did not feel like we got the value of the price paid, and there was an odd smell at the entrance. Rarely saw staff and walls are thin.

The room was optimized for a big (ski?) group - it had 3 beds but limited space to hang things. Small bathroom with a tiny shower stall. I had to unplug the lamp to plug in my phone because there were so few outlets in the room.

• Tina (7/5): Decent, nice staff, a bit pricey for the room. - Easy to find, earplugs provided Bathroom fan didn’t work so it was a bit musty. Portable air conditioner was loud but worked, it did take up some space making getting to the side of the bed tight. Not enough plug ins. Note: tons of mosquitoes so use bug spray.

It’s only a 15-20 minute walk to downtown (or 3-5 minute drive); close enough to make it convenient but not so close that you hear downtown noise. The room itself was so great for our family of 4! Our kids loved the bunk beds, and we really appreciated multiple extra fans in the upstairs loft to keep the kids cool during the end of August heat wave. Highly recommend!

They also had a complimentary coffee/tea station and instant oatmeal, which was nice. Only 4/5 just due to the building being a bit older and not well insulated between rooms so could definitely hear neighbors and rooms upstairs if you were on the first floor.

We did not only hear our neighbours but could also hear friends rravelling with us that were 5 rooms down in a different hallway. Everything felt like we were off season, no restocking of coffee bar, whole bar area rather unloved.

• Jennifer (8/5): - We were a little worried prior to our stay about noise having read a few of the more recent reviews, but we weren’t troubled in the night by anything. You can hear footsteps above but this didn’t happen for too long (also nothing different to what you might get in any other hotel/property). The room itself was clean and comfortable and it provided us an easy base for our one night stay in Golden. The views from the window were lovely to wake up to!

El personal fue super amable y nos recomendó para cenar la que fue sin duda la mejor cena del viaje (The Wolf’s Den). Todo estuvo fenomenal

He gave us pretty helpful tips and informations about what to do in the area and he also took the time to show us everything on different maps. If we will come back at any time in the future we would def. stay here again.

The complimentary oatmeal and tea was perfect before heading out in the mornings. The best part was this area did not have the crowds of the more popular areas, but there was still plenty to do.

Some all of the walls are poorly insulated. There are signs indicating no noise from 10 pm to 7 am and earplugs available. We only heard our neighbours once and they did not keep us awake.

• Simon (8/5): - It’s a good stay but, like other reviewers note, the rooms aren’t very insulated from each other for sound. As a result it’s luck of the drawer on whether you have a peaceful stay or not. We could hear noise from other rooms clearly early in the evening but thankfully everyone respected the designated quiet hours. It wouldn’t put me off staying again but best to manage your expectations in this regard.

• David (6/5): Has seen better days but decent location in Golden - Basecamp lodge is a lovely wooden building near the river in Golden BC. It has a nice common area with fireplace and a breakfast nook that serves coffee and tea We first came to Basecamp Golden in 2022 when it was quite new. Since then the carpets are quite worn, our room was missing several light sconces, and each room had a massive air conditioner, which was placed in the only window that used to open so there was no way to get fresh air into the room. The kitchen area has beer cooler without a keg, an empty vending machine. Coffee and tea available most of the day.

• Thomas (5/5): Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt nicht. - Die Lage in einem Gewerbegebiet aber am Fluss ist ok. Zu den Restaurants läuft man ca. 10 bis 15 Minuten. Die Holzbauweise ist schön. Die Ausstattung ist einfach.Es gibt keine Stühle, ein Schrank ist nicht vorhanden und eine mobile Klimaanlage steht auf einem der Nachttische. Diese ist mit einem Schlauch durch eine Öffnung im Fenster verbunden. Deshalb kann man die Vorhänge nicht richtig zuziehen und es ist hell im Zimmer.

• Steve (6/5): Big expectations, short on follow thru - Beautiful site and building...but lack in finish...great furnishings but a ill fitted shower curtain instead of door on shower ,ac sitting on a chair with exaust taped to window..no working phones in rooms...said there a hot tub but not even one on premises. Curfew not respected...all that fo r twice the price of comparable stays ive been in! Needs work and/better price...not a family spot but good for couple.Staff are very friendly

• jennylY7154PQ (2/5): Gross - This place is really run down and gross. It’s unacceptable. I honestly don’t know how they pass any inspections. The showers are those corner fiberglass showers that leak all over the bathroom, the stairs carpets are shredding , no elevator to get to the upper floor. Generally, there was NO ONE at the front desk. Really gross experience. Never again.

Access to hot water for tea was appreciated The front of building had knee high weeds, plants not trimmed or watered. Shabby outside makes you wonder about the inside. The window frames outside need re staining , the beautiful wood needs some TLC. Was extremely noisy,floor boards and stairs creak a lot,could hear people in adjoining rooms, the main door to room was about an inch higher gap on right into hallway.

• Frauke (8/5): Einfaches und charmantes Hotel - Sehr freundliches Personal, gemütliche Lobby mit Spielen, Kaffee/ Tee etc., bequeme Betten, sauber Nachts ging die Alarmanlage in der Lobby an (da in einem Zimmer geraucht wurde, wie uns das Personal am Morgen berichtet hat). Diese wurde erst am Morgen ausgeschaltet.
