- David (2/5): - I had an awful experience at this hotel. First off, it’s not a hotel. It’s a budget hostel. It’s in no way boutique. Most of the reviews are purchased and you can tell by the fact that the reviewers have one review to their name - this one. The water in the showers is piping hot with no way to adjust the temperature. Because of this they switched my room. The water temp didn’t change. Speaking of switching rooms, I booked a double deluxe room only to find out they provided me with the cheapest room in the house on the same floor as reception. The level of noise in the lobby left me quite uncomfortable. They then told me they’d charge me an extra $60 to put me IN THE ROOM I BOOKED. The room I booked was disgusting and had urine on the toilet seat along with dirt in the shower. I called Expedia and was promised a better room— again, a double deluxe room. That was because reception told Expedia they’d provide me that — they didn’t. They simply sent me to another budget room with a non-working shower and dirt surrounding. The listing online says the spa is complementary— it wasn’t. They charge $15 for usage. Along with that, they gave me a dirty towel and ignored me when I asked for the steam room and whirlpool to be turned in. Instead, they just turned the sauna on. When I approached staff about the dirty towel, they scoffed.
- Ivette (6/5): - There is nothing "boutique" about this hotel. The location is great, 10m walking to Fountain Sq. & Old City. If you're in town for F1, 10-15min to most entry gates. The staff was friendly. The property may be undergoing a renovation, and I perhaps got the worst, not yet renovated room (Junior Studio "Suite"). The wall paper was peeling in multiple areas, the steps into the room were missing a border, the furniture was dated and the bathroom had mold on the ceiling. The tub was legitimately almost 3 feet high which made getting in & out downright dangerous. Moreover, there was a leak from under the tub that created large puddles on the floor during every use. We made several complaints to the front desk but maybe due to language barriers, they kept sending someone to dry the floor not fix the problem. Not worth the headache to keep complaining, checked out early and went to a different hotel.
- Yekaterina (4/5): - My first stay at this hotel was fine, but the second time was a complete nightmare. They tried to check me and my child into a room with water running down the walls. The staff were rude, unprofessional, and completely unhelpful. In the middle of the night, we were sent to another hotel — the employee who was supposed to guide us didn’t know the way and disappeared right after we arrived. The next morning, I had to walk back with my luggage, and despite being promised a refund and compensation for the awful night, nothing was ever done. I stayed only because I had no other choice before a long flight, but this experience ruined my vacation memories. This hotel urgently needs renovation and serious staff training. Definitely would not recommend.

- azhar (4/5): Room conditions - We stayed here for 3 nights, standard room, we told them about shower head detached which was tapped to supply pipe, bidet shower head missing, staff said we will fix it but they didn’t till end of our stay, maintenance staff is terrible, evidence from lose plumbing fixtures and towel racks and soap holders, the towel service only give you towel if you are in room, they don’t have room key, so they missed giving fresh towels for 2 days because we were out of room when they come, not a good system, we booked a double room and they gave us 2 twin beds joined together, not comfortable, the comforters were separate instead of one double size comforter, I was planning to stay again on May 13 to 15 but based on this experience I cancelled my booking, the counter staff was polite and helpful which was the only good experience , location is good, close to Nizami street.

Staff are slow to respond, they try to force you into an upgrade to pay more, we had to wait 24 hours to receive towels, facilities old, staff dont make you feel welcome or greet you. We stayed with a baby and they put us on 4th floor with no elevator access so nighgmare with a baby stroller. Do Not Stay Here.

They put us in another less category room for one day and compensated with rate difference discount at end of stay. Room cleaning took place after 5pm and have to ask for some toiletries everytime. Spa and standard amenities are not free for hotel guests. Room service food takes over an hour and comes from an outside restaurant with no accuracy. No coffee / kettle even in Suite but a good thing is Cold / Hot water dispenser outside the room. Suite room was spacious for 3 guests (king bed inside and sofabed outside but sofabed wasn't comfortable (joint sections with blanket over them). All staff are kind and respectful.

- Verified traveler (4/5): Not good - Great location - very close to Fountain Square and the old town. I went for the F1 - it's very handy for grandstands in the western and central parts of the circuit (main start/finish grandstands are are a bit further away). The circuit actually passes the end of the road the hotel is on which is a bit of a buzz to hear the cars if you aren't actually at the track! It's also cheap - and I suppose you get what you pay for. The single room I was in was very small which was to be expected - but the booking promised a safe, minibar and bathtub - none of which were present. When I queried this with the hotel they said it was Hotels.com's fault for having incorrect descriptions. My room was just along from reception and on more than one occasion I was woken by noise from reception itself as well as guests shouting in the corridor (past 1am) which the staff failed to deal with. To be fair, when I raised the above on check-out, they did waive the 40 manat (20GBP / 22Euro / 25USD) I had incurred for early-check-in On arrival there were grubby marks and handprints on the walls that were never cleaned. The small wardrobe in the room had no coathangers rendering it useless. The TV remote control was a different manufacturer from the TV so didn't work until replaced. On one occasion the staff forgot to leave towels in the room. On another they left only a small hand towel. Breakfast was uninspiring - after a couple of days I went elsewhere.

- Ryan (6/5): - I booked this hotel for the room. It was a beautiful room and we were happy staying in it. But I had a few problems with the rest of the hotel. Online the hotel information said that it had a bar and restaurant but it didn't really. They had somewhere for us to have breakfast but it was a very limited variation of food. So much so that we didn't bother going for breakfast for most of our trip. One time we did we got there towards the end of breakfast time (half an hour remaining) and they had already packed up mostly. They came out and seen us enter the room then went back into the kitchen without even offering if we wanted glass of juice, since they had taken it all away. So we had some cheese with no drink and then went back to our room. They ordered out to get my girlfriend some dinner one night and they only seemed to sell coffees. I say seemed because the staff didn't really communicate with me much, so I wasn't completely aware what was available and what wasn't. I have mixed reviews about the staff. Some were very attentive and helpful but others seemed to just stare at us as we walked past reception and spoke in a way that made it seem like they were annoyed at us being there. As I say, I booked the hotel for the room and we slept well in it, the place was quiet and the shower was a good size and quality. We just kept to ourselves mostly and we enjoyed our vacation overall
- Jennifer (8/5): Unforgettable Baku trip! - Great location near Old City. The gentlemen at the front desk were always pleasant and available to assist. Be sure to verify your room selection upon check-in! I booked a Junior Suite, but was given a standard double room. Reception advised that they would be able to change my room the following day. I was switched to a Family room. Daily housekeeping was available. The breakfast and tea service available was very nice. Special breakfast orders could be placed with the lovely ladies in the kitchen on the 4th floor. Be sure to put the do not disturb sign on your door - someone entered my room (for some unknown reason), while I was asleep. The hotel has a lift, making it super convenient to get upstairs. Front desk offers to book a pre-travel covid-19 testing service, they will come to the hotel directly. There are tours available that can be booked through reception, prices are pretty reasonable! Overall, we had a great time in Baku!

- Sepehr (4/5): It was a 4 star nightmare - I booked and payed the full amount for the Exclusive Antique room In advance, but when I arrived at the hotel they showed me a comically tiny room (2 x 2 meters), which smelled like a public bathroom and was full of tiny flying bugs! When I told the reception this is not what I booked, he told me "I know you booked the antique room, but we have problems with that, only this room is available" and when I said bat this is terrible this room smells and I can't spend the night here he said "But it's only one night", No apologizes, nothing! They didn't even tell me what was the problem! They probably gave my room to someone else and figured out that since I payed the money in advance I can't really do anything about it, and they were right about that! The room was right across the utility room, that meant an endless supply of noise 24/7, and when I woke up I found that I rolled over an innocent an that was in my bed in my sleep! The only reason I stayed the night there other the fact that it was a non-refundable booking, Was that I was so tired, I didn't have the energy to find somewhere else! So don't be like me, don't pay in advance, or do one step better and book somewhere else.

However I only had to wait an additional 5 minutes. The breakfast was a little on the slim side in terms of options but they did have some hot choices cooked to order. Overall I would stay again.

The staff looked shocked when we arrived I think they let out our original room.I explained via email we would arrive late they changed our room but still only one bed.Considering cost I think this was very poor I'm not happy it's the first time I've had a problem of this nature with a hotel.com hotel.

I showed the printed version of the reservation, but the receptionist just said that the rooms were renovated and they were renovating the rooms without a safe. - Verified traveler (4/5): - I had booked a twin bed for one guest but when I arrived there they gave me a single bed and didn’t accept to give me the twin bed although I showed them the confirmation email regaiding the booking of twin bed for one guest !! It was also noisy whenever there were someone walking on the aisle because the aisle was made with wood but in many hotels aisles are furnished with carpet to reduce the noise ! Also there was written there’s a shuttle bus available but they said i have to pay ! Shuttle bus as it’s name suggests is a free bus shuttling between hotel and airport in frequent times for free ! Other things like cleanliness, stuff attitude and design was good.

- Eitan (6/5): Disappointment - Nowhere in advance could we learn that the hotel is being renovated, that the hotel is located on the 3rd and 4th floors of a building and that the elevator doesn't work temporarily. More than this, we booked a room with 2 seperate beds but when we arrived (2 adult firends) there were only a double-bed room availalble. the location is great and the staff is nice but there seems to be a certain incapability of planning ahead when you take into consideration the fact that we booked our room 2 months in advance. Too bad. Stranegly enough, the front desk proudly presents a rating of 9.3 (???) . How? That is beyond me.

BUT, We checked in twice because we left town for one night in between. In both cases, although we booked one twin bed room, we got a one double-bed room. It took them 2 nights to change for a room with 2 seperate beds. When we came back for the seond time, it happened again. One big bed, no possibility to change. VERY FROSTRATING!!! PLUS : Nowhere is it mentioned that the hotel is being renovated, the elevator doesn't work and the hotel is located on the third and fourth floors. Could be a very serious problem to handicapped and elderly people.

- Alex (10/5): Good-value hotel perfectly located, friendly staff - I flew in to Baku very early in the morning and the hotel had arranged for a driver to pick me up at the airport. I was able to check in early and enjoy visiting the city straight away. The hotel stay was perfect for what I wanted as a visiting tourist. Easy to travel into town. Good fast wifi. Good breakfast options. Comfortable and spacious room and bathroom. All staff were at hand to help throughout my stay.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The hotel was ok. Boutique hotel is a real stretch though... First of all, the reception is on the third floor and there is no elevator, so be prepared to walk. To their credit, someone did help me carry my bags both up and down. The room was pretty basic but comfortable enough. Breakfast is also very basic. The location and the staff are probably the best things about this property. It is only two blocks from the entrance to the old city and also one of the main squares.
- Mark (6/5): Baku Grand Prix - We arrived on Wednesday morning and got a taxi to the hotel,we had arranged for the hotel to arrange a taxi to meet us but later that day the Hotel Manager apologiesed and admitted he thought our arrival time was 6.00pm rather than 6.00am. The Hotel entrance was on the first floor up two flights of stairs with no lift which was ok for three men but could be tricky if women are expected to carry their cases themselves. The room was not ready until 2.00 pm so we left our cases at the reception and went into Town for a coffee. On our arrival back to the hotel around 12.00 pm our room was ready. as we expected from the Hotel website the room was quite large and spacious with ample storage and drawers for three men and the bathroom was clean and the shower was large and the water was hot. One thing to mention was the location of the Hotel which was excellent and easy walking distance to the Old Town and the Formula One race track. We stayed in the Hotel for six nights and had a thoroughly enjoyable stay in Baku.

- Sue (8/5): Excellent location - This hotel is in an excellent position, close to the the Old Town, cafes, and the shopping centre area. There were 70 steps up to the third floor bedroom, but the staff help with the luggage on arrival and departure. It wouldn't suit anyone with mobility problems. The rooms are very large, with modern bathrooms, and very quiet. Breakfast was sufficient, but service was very slow. Getting a cup of coffee took several requests from a few guests, on some mornings. The staff were very good, sometimes not totally understanding guests needs (in English) but very keen to help in various ways. I enjoyed the stay!

Room is clean and comfortable. For using public transportation, the metro station is little bit far, however, kind hotel staff Mr. Tolab is kindly help to catch a taxi. In all, I can recommend this hotel strongly.

- Barbara H (10/5): Good location and good value - I stayed at the Bristol hotel for work however wouldn't hesitate to stay there on a family holiday. The hotel itself is in a great location right in the heart of the city. It's very close to tourist attractions such as Maiden Tower and the opera/ballet theatre, as well as being close to many shops and restaurants. My room was beautifully decorated and the bed was lovely and comfortable. Staff are all very frfiendly and welcoming. Special thanks to the lady who kindly made me omlettes for breakfast!
