Guest Reviews
- Pam (8/5): Comfortable stay - Excellent Location.
Collette was great - negative comments re staff were unfounded in our case. All were friendly and helpful. Room a little tired/dusty but this didn't affect our comfortable stay.
- Hopkins (7/5): Relaxing - Collette was a very good host. Breakfast really tasty. Room had a good view over the sea
- Thomas (10/5): -
- Sally (9/5): - The breakfasts were lovely, family friendly atmosphere and very accommodating. The fact the landlady will be retiring soon.
- Mutibur (6/5): - Location parking breakfast Bed toilet seat
- Terry (8/5): Lovely trip & very friendly staff - Very good The room & stairs to the upstairs could do with a good clean
- Thomas (9/5): Great place, very nice room, and it is a pub, with a good breakfast. - Great to be able to stay in a pub, great rooms, sea view, and superb breakfast, and close to the West Somerset Railway. Nothing all good
- Ccounty (5/5): - We got a room on the sea front, it was spacious and had all pieces of furniture to make it comfortable. We also liked how friendly was the young person who checked us in and served us drinks. We went to have breakfast and the person who took our orders was incredibly rude. I was quite shocked by the lack of customer service we received. We were in Minehead for an important family issue and it really upset me how rudely we were treated. There also was cobwebs and the place needs some TLC, as the door handle on the landing was coming off. It's a shame as the breakfast that my partner had (ending up eating mine too) was tasty, but we decided to miss the opportunity to interact with the owner again (I would have spoken with the manager to say that person shouldn't be front of house staff, if it wasn't the owner, as we found out when we looked online).
- Terry (10/5): Mined Gold. - Everything Really. Staff. Food.. Location. NA
- Neil (10/5): - From the time we arrived to the time that we left everyone was welcoming and very helpful, both staff and regulars were friendly and welcoming. The choice of breakfast was plentiful and well presented, the full English tasted great. Overall, great welcome and a great place to stay. Only thing I can think of is that I could have done with another pillow but as I didn't ask for one I can hardly count this as a negative comment.
- Karen (10/5): -
- Glynis (9/5): -
- Lowe (5/5): - We were allowed to check in early. The bed, mattress was very thin so was lying in the wooden bed frame. The noise from outside at night below right outside the pub entrance and breakfast only served from 08:30 in the morning so was too late to wait.
- Cole (9/5): Value for money - Nice 'no frills' but perfectly fine accommodation (as expected). Nice location near harbour and get a sea view. Very good value for money.
- Paul (7/5): - location and food good rooms needed updating
- Deborah (10/5): Really friendly pub and staff - Great value for money with a delicious breakfast Nothing
- Cashy (6/5): Worth the money -
- David (10/5): - Very nice, sea view, lovely people. Nothing.
- Heather (9/5): A very pleasant and charming place to stay,on Mineheads beach front. - Our second time at the Quay Inn,we love it here. The staff are very nice and it’s a comfortable, warm and inviting place to stay. Collette cooks a wonderful breakfast too! We will be coming back asap. Nothing really.
- JoAchim (8/5): - Sehr leckerers englisches Frühstück. Aufmerksames freundliches Personal. Direkt am Meer gelegen.
- Simon (7/5): Good time had by all - Location nice breakfast good Tv outdated
- John (1/5): Regretful. - The most unwelcomeing I have ever experienced. Dirty, horrible attitude host.
Down right nasty landlady. Look at the Minehead. friends website. The locals complain that her establishment is embarrassing. What ever you do , do not stay here.
There was nothing at all to like about the quay, the best bit is when you leave or in my case get looked out. Booking . Com should take a serious look on advertising. Everything from start to finish. Especially the horrible nasty host.
- Emma (8/5): - Staff were lovely
- Lynn (8/5): - Location was Great
Breakfast was good quality
View from bedroom was superb Bed was a bit lumpy on one side.
Needs a bit of updating
- Catherine (1/5): Management rude and attitude disgusting, knew we had a child with us did not inform us in advance about music, didn’t ca - Music playing underneath our room so loud we had no chance of even hearing the TV never mind getting to sleep with a 7 year old.
- Andrew (7/5): A Very good value Stay in Simple Clean Accommodation - It was a truly great value stay.
The rooms are simple and clean and the breakfast huge. For 60 a night it passed our expectations. The stairs are a little steep.
- Dawid (8/5): -
- Stephen (7/5): The establishment didn’t quite live up to our expectations - View from window No food available in the evening due to staff shortages
- Luan (7/5): -
- Gary (9/5): -
- James (5/5): -
- Amanda (8/5): - Friendly staff, comfortable room, nice breakfast.
- Steph (8/5): - The breakfast was fabulous, as was the evening meal we had. Quiet room, Very good value for the money we paid, we would be happy to stay again.
- Cathy (10/5): - Lovely welcome. Room was very comfortable. Staff very friendly. Breakfast was superb. Nothing
- Helen (8/5): - Good value for money. Beds comfortable. Lovely breakfast.
- Janina (8/5): - Das Frühstück war sehr lecker und die Pub-Bedienungen waren immer sehr nett. Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit in Minehead.
- Janet (1/5): "This was an appalling experience, and I cannot in good conscience recommend this property to anyone." - Nothing The owner’s behaviour in particular which was marked by rudeness and the use of offensive, derogatory remarks — particularly directed towards our little French Bulldog, a defenceless animal. Such behaviour is entirely unprofessional, deeply disrespectful, and wholly inappropriate in any customer-facing setting.
The venue itself, including our allocated room, was in a poor state of repair, with a pervasive unpleasant odour and an entirely unacceptable standard of cleanliness. These conditions fell far below any reasonable standard one should expect.
When I attempted to raise these issues directly, the owner responded with complete disregard, displaying neither a willingness to resolve the matter nor any acceptance of responsibility. Instead, I was met with a hostile and rude demand to leave the property immediately.
This level of conduct, both in terms of behaviour and property condition, is unacceptable and should not be tolerated. I trust that this matter will be investigated promptly by the appropriate authority, and that robust measures will be implemented to ensure no other guests are subjected to such treatment in the future.
- Clive (7/5): - Good location and free parking outside. Good view Good breakfast but a little wait to give breakfast choice despite giving them requested time slot. Clean, comfortable and friendly. Waited 17 minutes to give our breakfast order
- Beatrix (6/5): Not impressed - The barmaid was fabulous very warm friendly and helpful . The chef was fantastic made excellent food and communicated well.
The owner of the hotel was most unfriendly and lacked people skills and not supportive . The hotel was basic and very run down and not worth $ 210
Adult per night . Location was excellent
- Anita (6/5): - Towels were lovely and soft.
Good shower. Cooked breakfast was really good Toilet seat was not secure.
- Bowditch (7/5): -
- Natasha (10/5): - Thank you, our room was spotless. We had a very comfortable night sleep and thought breakfast was delicious. Staff were accommodating and friendly.
- Tracey (8/5): Seafront real ale pub with rooms. - Comfortable bed. Good food, real ale. Right on the seafront. Walkable to shops and attractions. Staff are friendly and helpful. Dogs allowed. Stairs are a bit steep with luggage but that's nitpicking.
- Glyn (8/5): - Location staff Large Double was two singles put together so hard ridge in the middle which was uncomfortable, two flights of stairs to the room
- Robin (7/5): New Year stay - Breakfast was very tasty and cooked to order. Helpful hosts. Bed was uncomfortable and too short. 2 single beds pushed together. Ridge of 2 single mattresses in the middle of the bed.
- Kate (9/5): Lovely location and friendly staff - Room was very spacious and staff were friendly The communal areas going to the rooms need a little attention.
- Steven (8/5): -
- Sharon (10/5): - We we're made very welcome on arrival, and our room and the breakfast we're fantastic. Nothing
- ANTHONY (9/5): Great friendly staff -
- Middleditch (9/5): Good value, fabulous atmosphere, great pub! - Even though it was Christmas Day, Collette was happy to check us in early am.
Fab sea view, clean room with good facilities and storage.
Breakfast was excellent and included in the price.
Our dog was welcomed and we didn’t have to sit like outcasts in another area.
All the Team were friendly and super helpful.
We enjoyed our 2 night stay very much and will be going back soon. Nothing!
- Holpin (8/5): -
- Rebecca (10/5): We would return. - Large comfortable sea view room. We had free parking directly outside the front of the pub. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was very tasty with quality ingredients. Great value for money.
- Joe (10/5): - Location was fantastic seaside view room
Great hospitality from staff
- Virginie (10/5): - Lovely place with friendly and welcoming staff. Room was great.
- Ruth (9/5): Large room with sea view - Fantastic location, large room, clean and comfortable bed. Really good well cooked breakfast and nice friendly helpful staff. The room was large and the shower was good but the room could do with a bit of an update and not be quite so basic but again for our one night stay it was perfect.
- Gill (9/5): Relaxing and pleasant stay - Excellent staff, very welcoming All good
- Robert (10/5): -
- PETER (8/5): Ok - Breakfast was served in good time, sausages were a littler under cooked, location was perfect for our needs. One side of the bed was bad ,every time you moved the springs was very noisy.
- Colin (8/5): - The view from the room , the pillows where soft , the young lad serving breakfast was a good lad Looks a bit run down could do with a bit TLc
- Sandra (8/5): - Good location nice breakfast
- Condliffe Mandi (5/5): - The staff was lovely and extremely helpful the food was amazing as well. The loud music til extremely late gone 12 when the lovely young lady said that the bar closes at 10pm. we was then kept awake by people talking and loud music. Also our toilet seat was very loose and could not find anyone didn't want to ask the bar to fix it felt like I was going to fall off
- Gunta (9/5): -
- Julie (9/5): Great place to stay, excellent food, friendly staff and free parking - The staff were really friendly and helpful. Food for dinner and breakfast was beautiful, very filling, fresh and tasty. Room was a good size with sea front view and good amenities. Also free parking was provided. We've booked again for next year. There's no lift so we had to walk up 2 flights of stairs but the staff helped us with our cases so no big issue.
- Victoria (10/5): -
- Szuyu (9/5): -
- Callaghan (10/5): Lovely breakfast - perfect place to recover from a hectic weekend - Lovely room, friendly, helpful staff particularly the young boy who helped with cases and was very pleasant. N/a
- Pamela (9/5): - Breakfast was exceptionally good.
- David (10/5): -
- lesley (4/5): Disappointed as this hotel wone the 4 in a bed. Need more please staff , with hospitality experience. I was not felt we - Location The lady who met me on arrival I found not very pleasant. She told me to get down for breakfast at 9.10 am I told her I may not have breakfast as I was meeting friends and probably won’t be up for breakfast . She then asked me if I be bringing anyone back . All I can say is im 63 years old and no I won’t be bringing anyone back . Made me feel very uncomfortable.
My double bed was 2 single beds put to gether. Very uncomfortable in the centre of the bed . Room wasn’t that clean the shirting board had bust on and on the floor was the top of a coffee sashet and it wasn’t mine
The kettle had black in the bottom so I couldn’t even have a coffee in the morning .
- Oliver Richardson (7/5): -
- Ann (9/5): Our stay at this place - The staff was very good with us all and we had loads of fun there as well and we met new friends there too we all loved it so much thank u all x Everything there
- Kevin (10/5): An off-season family break in beautiful Minehead. - The room was ideal for a family of 2 adults and 2 kids with interconnecting rooms inside a single front door. The view from the balcony was amazing. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was superb. Maybe a minor refresh to the decor.
- Richard (5/5): It was okay but the Hotel looked tired and could do with decoration / refurb - The Breakfast it's self was excellent. We were one of two other occupants at the time and for some reason the three tables were laid close together in a row. It was rather like being in a school dinner hall. Large room with plenty of other spare tables so we could have been split up. The Dining Room was in total silence with no background music.
The Bedroom and Bathroom could have been cleaner. The Bathroom had mould on the upper walls.
- Richard (7/5): -
- Mikael (7/5): - Hjälpsam trevlig personal. Fint läge, bra parkering. Städningen kunde förbättras, Sängen var gammal och inte bekväm.
- Tracey (7/5): Ok. They catered for my partner who needed gluten free - Near the sea. A few cobwebs in room.
- Tammy (5/5): -
- Dawn (5/5): Disappointed - Atmosphere was good, but because of the friends we were with, anywhere would have been nice. The welcome from the landlord was rude, the landlady never once spoke to us. Said welcome, ask where we were from, nothing . Nadal!
Cant believe it won a 4 in a bed award, cant see how..... room was comfortable, but alot of dust found, looked nothing like the rooms on 4 in a bed thats for sure.
- Dave (8/5): - Loved the atmosphere and old inn charm. Dim lighting and no extractfan in shower room.
- michele (7/5): Friendly staff good location - Location Could not see view from balcony due to an advertising poster
- Julia (5/5): Nice area, reasonable price - In a lovely area by the coast and amidst attractive older world buildings. Clean and comfortable and reasonable price. Very quiet with few people in the bar, we were told changeover day for Minehead. Staff did not seem very welcoming. Room very small and entry after closing time and exit before opening time via spiral fire escape.
- David (10/5): - Very friendly very clean Nothing
- Christopher (4/5): - Location Dirty very little cleaning done
- postlethwaite (7/5): Nice stay friendly staff nice room good breakfast weather not brilliant -
- Nicholas (5/5): Good location, but badly let down by poor housekeeping and shabby decor. - The location was good. Had a spacious room with sea view. Breakfast was ok. The stay was badly let down by the state of the room on arrival. The toilet had not been cleaned and there was thick dust on the bedside lamps. The property is in serious need of a facelift and requires better cleaning staff.
- Nicole (7/5): -
- Wilhelmina (10/5): -
- Ian (5/5): Disappointing. - Staff were friendly & helpful. Breakfast good although a limited choice.
Bed & bathroom clean. Room okay though a little small. Unfortunately the room itself was very dusty & felt grubby for example the skirting & edges of the furniture sticky dusty & with large cobwebs hanging from the ceiling. Although the bathroom clean the walls let it down, pealing walls & dirty. The bed had a thin mattress & was extremely uncomfortable. The whole place needs some TLC.
- Jennifer (4/5): - Great location, especially for anyone starting the SWCP. Ok place to crash for a couple of nights but not the most comfortable stay overall - sound coming through from other rooms is definitely the biggest problem.
- Paul (8/5): This was my second visit to this property and a most enjoyable stay once again. - Staff are so friendly and helpful. Room size good. Breakfasts cooked to a high standard and evening menus comprehensive and of excellent quality. Cleaning not up to standard, dust on skirting boards and corners of the room.
- patricia (8/5): - breakfast was very good and all was friendly
- Heather (9/5): We really loved staying here, great staff, food and location in Minehead, would def come back again. - Lovely old pub with great food, best breakfasts ever. View from the room was great. All the staff were really lovely here and couldn’t do enough for us. Nothing really.
- Andy (9/5): - Excellent location, good food and accommodation very good. Parking could be better, only room for 4 cars on the front.
- Tracey (6/5): - Location Cleanliness
- Elizabeth (6/5): - Easy access to local area Smoking below the balcony meant we couldn’t really use it
- Сапрыкин (10/5): -
- Wendy (10/5): It seemed a strange choice for our needs, but we came away thankful - Peaceful, away from the hubbub of Butlins. Fantastic breakfast options, and a lovely beer garden high up behind. Quite a few steps up, but well worthwhile. The only minus ( personally) was the steps up to the room….. but again, worthwhile.
- michael (10/5): short stat - well cannot say anything other than a very good warm welcome ,food Oh so good. and yes will go again.
- A (7/5): Nice short break - Great location, bright airy room with a nice view
Good breakfast with great service Stained carpet, walls and door bottoms needed a good clean
Broken lampshade
