Guest Reviews
- radar643 (6/5): Large Complex with Breakfast, Indoor Pool, and Hot Tub - We had been here last November and enjoyed our stay, so we considered returning during the colder months to enjoy the pool and hot tub. We booked for two nights, did some shopping, enjoyed the hot tub on day 1, and more shopping plus local entertainment on the reserve on day 2. The room was spacious with a Queen size bed, fireplace, and whirlpool tub. More strategic lightening and a chair with wheels would be an asset at the desk.. Our room rate was very reasonable as we went off-season. The breakfast was typical for a Quality Inn with both hot and cold offerings. Staff were very accommodating.
- 0155 (6/5): Below average - Not a great place. Definitely showing its age. Fairly clean. Tiny bathroom with peeling paint. Comfortable beds. Windows dripping condensation so much so that towels line some public area window ledges. Hallways smell like cigarette smoke, broken hot tub. Breakfast hot offerings were cold. Friendly staff. No elevator.
- J3106FVkathyd (10/5): Quality Inn best stay for your money - The staff are very accommodating and friendly. We go there every time because we live out of town. They are always friendly. Best in Orillia. Darlene and Kathy Martin.
- nancydX2991YU (2/5): Poor experience - however we were on ground floor and were able to unload at patio door which was helpful - Internet super slow
No social media (YouTube, Netflix) basic cable 10 channels
The bed had cheetos hand prints all on the underside of the comforter when it was opened up
No hot breakfast - we had to ask for it and when we did we were confronted with sighs by one of the staff who was to look after this. She was miserable. A burnt waffle was found in the waffle maker and we mentioned it… she just says really and threw it out and walked away. We had to clean the machine ourselves
No hot water ( not allow to get hot water from coffee machine ) we were advised not to as it would trip breaker
Pool and hottub a little unsavoury
No bathroom in lobby
Bath towels were just a little bigger than hand towels and you had to return them at front desk or be charged 10$. So much for walking dry to your room lol
The temperature of hotel - 66 degrees. Hall and lobby feeezing
- Zorro (6/5): - It was comfortable, lots of parking. The bathroom needs to be updated , the comforter was stained , I don't feel it was worth that kind of money, breakfast could have been better, more of a variety.
- Deborah (10/5): - Check in was great. Nice large room, parking space in front
- Emma (4/5): - The room stunk like cigarette smoke, the beds were so hard our backs hurt. The pool was murky and freezing. The breakfast was half run out of everything by 9. There was signs to find a house hippo and yo tell the front staff which my children thought was fun. When they told the front desk he was curt and dismissive. The property is very dated and I would recommend no one stay there.
- Don (6/5): - Looked like mold forming around the shower . Room was clean, staff was friendly. Breakfast not very well organized. Could have been set up in a more convenient way for easier access to patrons. Ran out of scrambled eggs a little early. Very disappointing meal.
- Ian (8/5): Nice location. - Pool and Hot Tub Beds were comfortable.
- Espaniel (8/5): -
- Darryl (4/5): - Safe
- Natasha (10/5): -
- Tebbenham (7/5): -
- Chelsea (6/5): - Staff provided excellent service and were very friendly. The continental breakfast was okay. The room was quite dated, bathroom was really small, & the TV was "fuzzy" so we couldn't really watch it. The room wasn't as nice as I thought it would be. Very basic, but clean. I paid $250/night and unfortunately wouldn't recommend the hotel unless you're looking for something very basic and simple.
- Vanessa (8/5): - .
- Tyler (4/5): - No hot water at the hotel but did get a small discount.
- Joel (4/5): - shower had mould all around the bottom, would refused to shower in it, tv didn't work, had to go to the front personally 3 times for them to fix it because they dont have a phone in the room. bed was comfortable, sheets clean
- Sheila (5/5): Had to stay here because I was attending a wedding, so no choice. Not impressed. - The room was spacious, and the bed was comfortable. The room was quiet. Never an answer when I phoned the desk--always busy, although when I was in the lobby reading, I never saw anyone on the phone. Breakfast was pretty awful--cheap bread, rubbery, overcooked eggs, an uninviting room that felt cold and noisy. The whole place needed some care--lots of paint peeling off doorways-a feeling that the place had seen better days.
- Gregorio (6/5): - The first room smelled really bad and i had to request a change
- Steven (8/5): - Smelly room. Ok but for the money i would expect more.
- Amanda (4/5): - It’s about what I expected. The decor is tired, staff are unmotivated. Front desk was empty a couple times we went to it. On check in it was a wait for a social chat between the staff member and the guest ahead to end… fairly rude to make someone wait. In inexpensive hotels the lighting is always awful. I’m not sure why they can’t splurge the extra 50cents per bulb to get decent quality light in the rooms.
The lamp had a gross stain on it.
The breakfast bar staff was almost non-existent, wandered through with a giant set of headphones on to refill items that needed it 20 min ago once while we were there. I know it’s not a restaurant experience, but keeping the breakfast bar full is important, especially to travellers with children.
- Jeremy (2/5): - Overall poor everything. Restaurant only open 5-9 with very small menu. Bartender at restaurant (Cindy) was excellent. Hotel no hot water, tables in room were dirty. Hallways dirty
- Bill (4/5): - When we got there, we were told there was no hot water. We drove five hours to get there. It was 3:15 PM and we’re told that we could go somewhere else not being a millionaire. Where was I going to go because they did not refund my money back immediately They told us we would get 25% off, but I had to call Expedia and that created a whole Nother headache my wife can’t shower with cold water. We had to go buy wipes to clean ourselves and we could not use the pool because we couldn’t shower afterwards two nights that we were there we felt itchy and disgusting. We should’ve gotten a bigger discount.
- Susan (2/5): - I ended up canceling when i arrived at the hotel, because unknown to me, there was no hot water. I was told that a message was sent to me but i didn't receive one and only found out once i arrived to check in. Not happy, especially since i was travelling with my senior mother and had to find another place to stay, late in the afternoon.
- Nicole (2/5): - Was informed u
- Irene (2/5): - Water heater not working and they offered 25% off and thought we would stay; however place old outdated and smelled. Hotel was nice in uts day but best they they could do is demo and rebuild. We spent twice the money to get another hotel that night.
- Kelly (4/5): No hot water - No hot water was availible.
- Scott (8/5): - Price was good, breakfast and coffee was good. Staff was helpful.
Hotel needs major renovations
- Mohammad (8/5): - Good
- Barry (10/5): Nice place to stay, best pool I have ever seen - Really decent and big room, close to lots of shopping. Staff were very friendly. If we need to stay in Orillia again this will be the hotel.
- Karen (4/5): - This hotel is horrible. It smells musty and smoky. It's very outdated and in need of repair. The ice machine was disgusting. The breakfast is awful and the waffle maker is dirty. I didn't eat anything as I was too afraid of the cleanliness of the kitchen given the rest of the hotel. Paper plates and plastic knives and forks. Very cheesy but at least I guess they would be clean. I've seen previous reviews after we left and should have checked before we reserved a room. Tiling and flooring is mouldy and the curtain rod was broken. I could go on and on but advice.....unless you don't care don't stay there.
- meganaP5777AT (2/5): Terrible! Don't stay here! - Disgusting place to stay. Dirty, falling apart, holes in walls, peeling paint, awful smells. Customer service is terrible from the whole chain (emailed corporate). Avoid at all costs.
- Arnold (8/5): - Excellent location
- Guest (9/5): -
- Anthony (10/5): - It is something different for change for me
- Hamilton (6/5): - Room smelled like sweaty socks or a full vacuum cleaner bag. Maybe some Carpet fresh could help?
- Hanna (7/5): -
- Debbie (4/5): -
- Lucie (6/5): - Need to be cleaner
- Jason (10/5): - Very good staff who were very helpful
- HIREN (10/5): - .
- Carrie (6/5): - The motel is very dated
- Lataya (6/5): - Overall the stay was really good, staff we're friendly. My only issue was the bathrooms it could have been a bit more cleaner. Also their was a bug in one of my beds in the hotel, which was kinda scary, because I thought it was a bed bug. Thankfully it wasn't, but the staff quickly changed our rooms either way so it was nice of them to still accommodate that for my family and I.
- Robert (5/5): -
- Doug (2/5): - I would take it off your site
It's dirty, everything old broken It's a decusting place very dirty furniture is all brokn finish worn off
Stay somewhere else it has to be better
- Guest (10/5): Nice and quite - All good Nothing
- Valeriy (5/5): - Only location We stayed at this hotel 6 years ago, 2 years ago and everything was better. That's why we stayed here this time too, but everything got worse. There weren't even potatoes for breakfast like before, not to mention any variety. We stayed for 3 nights. The hotel is getting old and nothing is being renovated, there is an unpleasant smell in the room, and the pillows smell old.
- Henri (8/5): - Lots of extra parking
- Irikefe (10/5): - We loved staying here and very family friendly environment. The bed did it for me- super comfortable.
- Saskya (10/5): -
- Dave (8/5): - Our room was clean, but the bathroom had mold around the shower. The mild had not been cleaned off in some time.
Not much around the property for food.
- farahnaz (8/5): - Close to everything The doors was too heavy to open
- Guest (8/5): Adequate - Fine Variety
- radar643 (8/5): Very Accommodating.... - We had an appointment the following day in town and were arriving from south of Toronto, so I booked a night. The room was standard, but larger than a regular room. Everything was connected by corridors, and our vehicle was parked right outside our room with egress via patio doors. Breakfast was served in the adjourning game themed restaurant, as a hot buffet was set up for the 3 hour period. As the appointment was due a few hours after checkout, we stayed in the lobby/ reception area until we needed to leave. Although not used, the indoor pool/hot tub looked very inviting.
- Gilbert (7/5): medium - two confortable chairs and breakfast noise and talking to loud late
- Kevin (7/5): - Overall it was decent. Easy access to the room. It was quiet No choice of brea No choice of bread. Being diabetic I can't eat white bread. Àlso could only get one channel on the TV. Staff member tried to fix it. Told me I would probably get some kind of a discount.
- Michelle (2/5): - I book this for my dad the place was not clean and they did not have excess for him on the bottom floor like I ask do to his age and mobility will not book here again
- Skyler (8/5): - Staff were very friendly. The building itself was quiet and in good conditions. Big pool. There’s a small arcade room. Breakfast had small selection.
- Calvin (6/5): - The room was a bit dirty and had a smell
- Margaret (6/5): Unsatisfied - The beds were very uncomfortable. No railings in the shower. No racks to hang your towels. Needs a good paint job. And shower curtain didn’t stay closed.
- Gaetan (8/5): Great hotel - Room were spacious and comfortable. Nice quiet location. Huge swimming pool and a hot tub. Breakfast was ok but not the best but overall, a great stay. Would definitely stay again.
- David (2/5): - The property was very dirty and rooms had missing drywall and staff was rude all the amenities were closed such as the arcade bowling restaurant
- DORNETT (8/5): - The staff was friendly. We like our room was very clean.
- Andrea (8/5): - Our stay was great. Close to all shopping and the university and the breakfast was good.
Only thing was both beds were not very comfortable. The springs were worn out and broken.
- Joy-Lynn (6/5): - Staff was friendly. Bathroom was dirty I actually had to clean it before we could use. As there was fecal matter sprayed on the wall and sink area.
Swimming area was wet and slippery but no one was there. Things are getting very worn and rusty. The hot tub had clumps off hair floating in it. The staff and the clean beds were their saving grace.
- Guest (10/5): -
- arlene (5/5): -
- Julie (10/5): Great stay - The hotel stay was amazing. My boys and I enjoyed our stay. It was extremely clean. Only issue we had was the curtain rod let go when I tried to pull the curtain back in place. I was able to fix it as I didn't want to bother anyone. I did advise front desk afterwards.
The pool is amazing.
It should have elevator access especially as some have mobility issues and stairs can be hard for them when they want to use this area.
- Evelyn (5/5): Hotel is ok, but could do better - All the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The pool was a good size. It was nice that they have a hot tub. The kids liked the games room, which included bowling. The location of the hotel is convenient to the highway and some shopping/eating. Our room was kind of damp and there was some mold on the ceiling in the bathroom. Our room wasn't cleaned properly and the garbage wasn't taken away on one of the mornings we were there. I noticed at one point some cleaning staff struggling to get a vacuum to run, it looked like it was very old.
It was a bit noisy in this hotel, and very easy to hear the people around us. Their phone system was down so I had to go to the lobby when I needed to ask them to take care of the noise from some particularly noisy neighbors late one night.
The pool was nice but it looks like it needs a good scrub, along with the hot tub (they seemed to do the proper chemicals, but it was obvious nothing has been cleaned in a long time- lots of scum/grime). The ceiling in the pool area looks like it needs some tiles replaced and a good paint job.
The games room was only open on a Friday and Saturday evening for a few hours, not sure why it's such a short window of time as I'm sure all the families staying would have used it more often with their kids. On our last evening there, an inspector was in to take a look at the bumper cars (which had not been running). He kept the two staff there busy, and we ended up waiting for over an hour for pizza as it kept getting burned because it was neglected. The staff at least were kind and let us play games while we waited (though it was past closing time).
The breakfast was ok, it was very basic: a few different cereals, toast, scrambled eggs and sausages. There was yogurt and juice available along with apples and oranges. They also offered waffles, which were a highlight, but we had to wait for the batter on one morning because there was only one staff to take care of the entire breakfast area.
It seems to me that this hotel could be very good, but it needs more attention and care from management, and it needs more staff.
- Andrews-Burgin (8/5): Nice 3 night stay - Kind and friendly staffThe hot tub was nice as well Being on the third floor with no elevator
- Trevor (3/5): -
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Hotel is old and needs to be refurbished. Mold in bathroom. Carpet was dirty
- Charlene (10/5): - hotel is right off the hwy 400, amenities closeby
- Wendy (8/5): - All good
- Bibiana (10/5): -
- Nicole (4/5): - Property is very run down!
- Kim (8/5): - Hbh
- dittmann (7/5): - Like the queen sized bed That there was a bit of garbage in the trash and the fireplace i paid for didnt couldn't be turned on.
- Ashley (6/5): - Overall satisfied however the A/C unit was making a lot of noise and there was a light on the property that was flashing into our room due to it being burnt out. The bed was also broken upon arrival
- Mike (10/5): Good stay - Very nice place, easy to get to. Lots of amenities around the location. Pool area need updating.
- ED (8/5): Good value in a clean facility with friendly staff - Simple clean room. Easy check in. Polite staff.
Great value. Facilities are a little dated, but very acceptable.
- Kelly Ann (10/5): - We loved the convenience of the property, the amenities and activities for our 7 year old (pool, hot tub, arcade/bumper cars and bowling). The staff both at check in and check out were super nice. The hotel definitely has some wear and tear, but overall, we had all the convenience we needed.
- Carolyn (10/5): - Staff friendly. Full breakfast included very nice. Pool great. A lot of extra amenities such as gym & games area
- Royles (7/5): -
- Guest (9/5): -
- Diane (2/5): - The room stunk of smoke it was dirty and I believe there was bed bugs
This hotel has been fast declining
I will not use again
- Michelle (10/5): - Pool and hottun
- Basam (4/5): - Did not prefer dogs in hotels, was lots of noises of dog barking and also noise of door slamming and people parties and gatherings it terms of cleaning was good no issues but you can smell the hallways carpet and room carpet a bit and hotel not located on the beach area but it’s a 10 to 15 minutes walk
- Desrochers (9/5): -
- Jeffrey (10/5): - awesome staff
- William J (10/5): -
- korey (10/5): -
- Christine (4/5): - Pool and hot tub good but an old facility with poor staff when we checked in but room staff good and friendly.
Mold in the bathroom. Tv programs from the 90's and no help at front desk in evening.
Arvade closed.

- Alanna (8/5): - Walking into the hotel there is a fowl stale smell in the hallways, thankfully the smell didn’t linger into our room. The kids enjoyed the pool & nice hot breakfast buffet in the morning
