• Susan Lynn (8/5): Beautiful property in an exquisite setting. - Casa de Melgar is a rambling old building full of character. I couldn’t imagine staying in a nicer setting in Arequipa. It is an easy walk to the Plaza de Armas. The staff are friendly and accommodating. They offered to prepare us breakfast for our 3am start on our last day. Breakfast is plentiful. The shower was a little tricky and the hot water wasn’t always reliable.

Le personnel était disponible. 0 débit d’eau pour se laver c’était l’horreur.nous avions du réclamer du papier toilette car pas disponible dans la salle de bain. Les serviettes n’ont pas été remplacé ni chambre fait.
• Georgina (10/5): Perfect for a few days in Arequipa - Gorgeous interior and really large rooms with great bathrooms and hot water. The staff were lovely and the hotel felt very safe as there was always someone on the door to lock and unlock. The location was perfect for being walkable to all of Arequipa’s main attractions. Breakfast was a little basic but still absolutely delicious and not really a complaint.

The rooms were a bit dark but this goes with the style of this historical place.

La chambre était très sombre - ce qui n est absolument pas un problème en soi, mais l éclairage artificiel disponible était trop faible. Équipement salle de bain assez fruste.

La cuisinière était vraiment de bonne humeur - vue sur jardin magnifique avec les petits oiseaux qui chantent! Lits confortables et salle de bain de rêve. A quelques minutes à pied de tout. La seule chose… peut-être un peu bruyant. Notre chambre donnait sur la rue. Avec les bouchons, parfait.

• Peg (9/5): A beautiful historical hotel with a wonderful garden area to linger in. - The grounds of this hotel are absolutely beautiful! The breakfast was awesome in a wonderful garden setting. We did like the historical setting of the hotel and the feel of stepping back in time. The shower was great! The location of the hotel is within walking distance to the Cathedral square and many historical sights and restuarants. It would have been nice to have better lighting in our room.

Si trova in una posizione ottima, molto comoda per chi viaggia con Peruhop come noi. La struttura è incantevole, un tuffo nei passato e veramente piacevole il giardino in cui rilassarsi con un libro! Al nostro arrivo il pavimento della camera era molto polveroso e il bagno piccolino. I mobili antichi hanno un odore particolare per chi non è abituato.

The beds are old, noisy and uncomfortabel. The bathrooms are very outdated. The rooms and the whole hotel have a huge potential to be the best boutique hotel in town….but it needs renovation and love.

• Nicola (4/5): Would not here again. - Great location. Rooms were like dungeons and very cold and damp. No heating. Windows had no glass in the top so you had to shut the shutters to keep warm. Doors were very hard to open, would be a fire hazard. Bed was so hard I had a sore back every morning. No tea or coffe making facilities. Breakfast was average, person serving it was lovely. Very run down. Would have left if we were there for more than two nights.

• Fiamma (8/5): Una casa d’epoca semplice e accogliente - L’antica casa incantevole (era la residenza del vescovo) a due passi dal monastero e dalla piazza, la gentilezza di tutto lo staff, la colazione di fronte a un giardino fiorito, la camera spaziosa e arredata con mobili d’epoca. Tutto molto autentico a un costo davvero onesto. La stanza era un po’ fredda, ma ci hanno portato una stufetta e il letto aveva molte coperte. L’acqua in bagno non è caldissima e ha poca pressione.
• Thierry (9/5): So cute, typical, not noisy, I recommend - This is very cute hacienda, lots of patios, covered passages, rooms have so much cachet. There is a backyard, there is a lot of charm in this place. It's perfectly located, staff is nice and helpful, breakfast is so so but frankly, it is much better than what the lonely planet will let you think. I'm glad I booked it. Oh, and it's very quiet, despite the night clubs and everything. I slept well.
