Guest Reviews
- Inmaculada (10/5): If you're going to Ubud, you should stay here - The stay was perfect. I came with some expectations, as I've had some bad experiences, and this was everything that was good and worthwhile. It couldn't be more central, but it's still secluded enough to get a good night's sleep. The room is large, has air conditioning, and plenty of space to store your belongings. Everything was clean, which is very important to me. It felt like home. Thank you so much, Titik. When I return to Ubud, you can be sure I'll come back.
- Ikchin (7/5): -
- Michael (9/5): Very quiet location and close to many vendors - The location was near the stores and restaurants. Some of the restaurants was just a short walk from the unit. The room was not dark enough, but that is not a deal breaker.
- Luke (10/5): good location - quiet and peaceful
- Luke (10/5): -
- sumanth (1/5): Rooms need to be upgraded. - Good location in central in central Ubud. AC wasn’t working. They tried to get it fixed while we were there and said this is how it is going to be. They charged us $12 for laundry when we left but gave us a refund.
- Zsuzsanna (9/5): -
- Jana (9/5): -
- Mosimane (6/5): It was worth the trip - The place was convenient The lady host was unfriendly
- Esther (10/5): -
- Lisa (9/5): -
- Thomas Anil (8/5): Not bad and staff were kind enough to let me keep my suitcase at the property while I explored Ubud on the last day. - Easy to find and close to lots of activities. Staff was not responsive to a broken shower head in my room.
- Titouan (8/5): - Literie confortable, grande chambre.
- Shaw (10/5): -
- IAMROUKA (8/5): - Good guest house for a low budget
- Francisco Javier (8/5): Cómodo y limpio - Limpieza, ducha de agua caliente
- Katie (7/5): Lots to do nearby but access is unsafe - The location is quite good. About a 15 minute walk to Ubud Palace and 25 minute walk to Campuhan Ridge. Close to Monkey Temple. Lots of choices nearby for cafes, restaurants, shops and markets. The kitchen facilities were useful and we had privacy in the accommodation. The access alley was dark and my boyfriend twisted his ankle on arrival at night in a massive pothole which ruined our time there as he struggled to walk afterwards. He is still in pain now and we are lucky it wasn't one of my 2 children who fell into the drain. It should really be lighted. The balcony also looks down onto a rubbish tip/building yard.
- Szymon (9/5): Superb - The place was very clean, the owners are welcoming and friendly. Everything was as in pictures. WiFi connection wasn't nearly as good as expected. If you are planning to work in here, make sure you have a backup SIM.
- Oleksandra (7/5): It’s pleasant but not very quiet. - Location, very responsive hosts, spacious room, the view and internet speed! Noisy from the construction, from the guests and family downstairs, also not easy to cook because all kitchenware are very old. There are a lot of red ants all over the room. They are biting. Shower is a bit old and licking, a bit of smell in the bathroom.
- Nauman76 (7/5): Good - The staff was excellent and helped me with excursions and transfers
- Daniel (9/5): Superb -
- Chuckowry (7/5): Good -
- Nikolaos (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chris (10/5): Comfortable and Pleasant. - The location suited us perfectly. Close to places we liked to eat. We walked to the markets most mornings to buy great value food supplies. It is a short walk to Monkey Forest Road, so no road noise. This part of Monkey Forest Road is nice & clean and has way less traffic than other parts of the road so it was really pleasant for us. The rooms were spacious & nicer than other places we stayed at. The owners were helpful and very good to deal with. Nothing really.
- Imogen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maria (9/5): Great location 💖 - Great central location
Hosts are so friendly and helpful The drain was a bit smelly in the bathroom but to be honest I found that common in ubud
- Seny (5/5): If you have heavy luggage, the alleyway is long and the stairs is steep. - We did not get breakfast. Water damage on the ceiling and water coming out from the wall of the bathroom. Air conditioner is limited to a certain temperature only. Electrical outlet will not accept US plugs. We did not have this problem elsewhere.
- Suusi (7/5): Spacios stay - I liked spaciousness. Kitchen was equipped, big terrace area with table. Monkey forest road has lots of restaurants and Spas around. Somehow i felt like im coming to interrupt their family life. Their everyday living and guests are right in the courtyard when i sneaked in to my room. Beside is a construction and makes quite a noise. The path there has a big hole so be extra careful with roller, the wheel might end up in canalisation hole
- Hossam (9/5): Superb - -Good location
-lovely owner
-room is spacious, fresh , with fridge, safe etc ..
Quiet and relaxing The view is mainly a construction site
- Tanya (8/5): Very good - Great and affordable homestay! Only problem was the ants, the owners cleaned them up after we requested but the hole in the wall meant more ants came out. But it wasn't too bad. Otherwise great stay!
- Eugene (9/5): Superb -
- Yasmin (7/5): Good -
- Jamen (10/5): Exceptional warm & kind hosts! - The hosts here are so kind! It felt like home. Literally in the heart of the downtown area next to all the clubs, yet tucked away. Thank you!! The owners have been dealing with construction next door, like a lot of places in Ubud. There was a big discount on the room I think for this reason. Hardly experienced much of any noise due to rain.
- Angela (7/5): It was consider good, value for money yet certainly improvement could be make. - I like it that it is at the heart of Ubud, 2 mins walks out to cafe/bar/restaurant. The family running it was decently nice and friendly. The alley walk in, is more suitable for bag packers, as we have to carry luggage up the stairs.
Apart from that, the water shower pressure and heater was an issue for my family, plus walking red ants outside the room.
- P.c. (10/5): Good value for money guesthouse in central Ubud - This is the second time I have stayed at Ubud Dream. It is a family home where they have built three rooms to rent out. The owners live on site and are very friendly and helpful. There is a kitchen that guests can use. It is located on Monkey Forest road at the bottom of a side street, so it is central but also quiet. The view from the room is of a building site, so not very exciting.
- Kristine (10/5): The hosts are very accomodating. The room is spacious and comfortable with access to a full kitchen. - The location is excellent for someone who enjoys hiking, walking, and exploring the natural beauties surrounding the town. It is off the busy street, but close to everything—quiet yet convenient.
- Lang (8/5): Very good - Top location
- Land (8/5): The family nice but the view from my room was not giving Bali vibes. - Nice and humble family. The bathroom water not going down the drain.
- John (6/5): Pleasant -
- Kelly (9/5): Ubud dream - The owners were very nice, gentle calm and informative. The whole experience was a delight. A fantastic location, in the centre of things but set back quietly from the traffic. Two beautiful friendly cats would visit, and the birdsong in the morning was wonderful. There was a bit of noise from a family home being built next door.
- Grace (7/5): Good -
- James (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cheryl68 (6/5): Pleasant -
- Bradley (10/5): Calm stay in the midst of Ubud - Friendly and kind owners who were communicative and happy to help. Great Wifi in the room, large room with dedicated areas for sleep, shower, desk, and sink. Great location close to shops and restaurants but far enough from the road. Slightly hard to find initially, but easy once I found it. The mattress was firm, but that's more of a personal preference and the pillows made up for it.
- Yara (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maria (7/5): Great value for money and perfect location in ubud! - Hosts were super friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and bright. Location is perfect!!!! The shower wasn't good at all. We all struggled with too hot or too cold water at times.
- Misson (7/5): Good -
- Aaron (10/5): Exceptional - The family running this place is really special and kind. Was an absolute dream to stay here. Access to everything but quiet and spacious.
- Constantin (9/5): Superb -
- Genco (7/5): Value for Money - Value for money. For this price, it does not get better than this. Clean bed, spacious room and family that owns the place lives downstairs. Everything was sufficient.
- Duncan (10/5): This was my first time to Ubud as a solo traveller, the staff were very friendly and made me feel welcome. - Ubud Dream is located in the centre of Ubud so you’re very close to all the action but also far enough away to not get disturbed by the noise. The room was large, clean and comfortable with good WiFi. The staff can arrange scooter hire and excursions which is also very convenient. There’s nothing really to dislike. If you’re going on a budget holiday this is a great find and has all the amenities you need.
- Pizzo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sylvestian (10/5): Great! - Good location Sink in the room. But not too big of a problem
- Vladimir (1/5): Bad - They said, sorry guys we sell you room, please use another wich was ugly.
- Sami (7/5): Good - A small room inside a nice house in Ubud, location is walking distance from Sacrad monkey forest and shopping area. Was charged 3% extra when paid with card, as the facility is closer to a house owned business not hotel. Bathroom need improvement.
- Joanna (9/5): Superb -
- Franco (9/5): Superb - Very central, friendly staff and service, I felt like in home. And clean places.
- Morgan (8/5): Fantastic value in the heart of Ubud - This homestay is a way down an alley off one of the main streets (Monkey Forest) so you are close to everything (shops, restaurants, bars) but far enough away that there is minimal noise at night.
The family owners are super friendly, laid back and discreet. Cleaning and fresh towels as frequently as you wish. Laundry service provided on site. Mini fridge in the room and decent kitchen to prep basic meals or plate your takeaway.
The rooms are very spacious and decent storage for long stays. Overall fantastic value for the price. I ended up extending my stay by a week (total 2 weeks).
I have stayed nearby at another place with a similar price point and this was by far the best value. Combo shower and bath space isn’t the most appealing but given the price it’s reasonable and the shower temp and pressure are great.
Mattress is not the most comfortable so those with sensitive backs may not love it.
- Rea (10/5): Amazing place to stay - Great place to stay in Ubud, very comfortable bed, clean and bright room. The location couldn’t be better: in the very center of Ubud in a small quiet street where you don’t get bothered by the noise from the streets and the restaurants. The hosts are very nice and welcoming. I really enjoyed staying there and would definitely come again!
- Jia (10/5): Exceptional - It was right in the center of all the attractions - 15 mins walk from the Monkey Temple, Grand Palace etc.. do take note that while it appears on Grab, my drivers were confused since it’s a really small alley down from the main road. The hotel has airport pickup at 475k Indonesian Rupiah, which is higher than Gojek/Grab prices which average around 300+k Rupiah, but I still found it worthwhile especially for the ride from the airport since there’ll be no issues with directions.
Ubud Dreams is actually run by a family - they stay on the first floor of the building and the second floor has been made into this hotel. They are very friendly, and the building is has lovely Balinese decorations. Breakfast is 75k Rupiah and was delicious. Room and toilet was clean, bed is comfortable. Room has a nice balcony. There is also a common kitchen area with all necessary cooking equipment etc on the second floor.
- Jeffrey (8/5): Good homestay - It was nice and clean. The open space in the bathroom let lots of bugs in
- Ayaka (9/5): Superb - The staff were very helpful.
- Ianzhina (8/5): Good enough value for this price - Nice friendly hosts, ready to help with any questions and requests. Good central location, however still quiet. Clean comfortable rooms. WiFi wasn't working well therefore had to work elsewhere.
Pipe in the bathroom was clocked and smelled.
- Kevin (10/5): Great English speaking hosts. They arranged a car and driver for the day and an airport shuttle. - Great location just down an alley from the main road so very quiet. Hot water and clean linen I don’t have a bad word to say.
- Milena (8/5): Very nice time at Ubud Dream.🙏🏾✨ - The localisation was very good in terms of the restaurants but still enough on the side so it wasn’t noisy at night. The owners were extremely kind and very friendly. We stayed for 2 weeks there. Thanks for having us.❤️ Bathroom was the only thing that I wish was a little bit more renovated.😊
- Anastasia (10/5): Exceptional - A great place that you want to return to! The owners are nice and helpful people. Calm and harmonious atmosphere. Great location in the very center of the city, within walking distance of many shops and cafes. You can rent a bike nearby if you go next door.
- Harish (6/5): Location great, room OK, but a little inconvenient - Very close to the main parts of Ubud including Monkey Forest, Ubud Palace and Market, etc
Kitchen facility is available as a shared facility.
Owners are generally nice people, which is largely true of all Balinese. The house is about 50 m off the main road with a small, uneven road to be taken. Taking luggage through this is challenging.
This is a property that is part of the house where guest rooms are on the first floor(Seems like three rooms in total). There is no fixed service to take luggage upstairs - the owners help if requested. For guests arriving after 10 pm in particular, be prepared for self check-in which means needing to figure out taking the luggage up tiny stairs on one's own (as the house owners sleep by 10 pm).
The AC was also not that great - it took nearly 45 mins for the impact to be felt. The second bed for extra person was in a slightly separated area which did not have any AC or fan.
Bathroom area could use shower curtains and overall more water spill protection. The bathroom door does not close securely from inside the room ( there is a working latch from inside the bathroom). With a poorly working AC, this also means less cooling.
- Mindaugas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anna (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was excellent! Friendly staff, location is Top! In the city centre and so quiet staying.
- Gerald (10/5): A peaceful refuge in the heart of Ubud - The room is so big! The bathroom is the closest to western-standards that I encountered in Indonesia. For an address on the middle of the busy Monkey Forest Street, the grounds are quiet, beautiful, and resort-like; like renting a room in a local family's mansion. The property is hard to find from the street, Google Maps is imprecise and the signage is discreet. Monkey Forest Street is a love-it-or-hate-it place and isn't for me.
- Cindy (8/5): Great stay. - The family was wonderful and very helpful. The location is great. It was noisy in the beginning.
- Cindy (8/5): Excellent - It's great location and very spacious room with excellent air-conditioning. Enjoyed my stay.
- Samantha (10/5): Exceptional - Spacious, amazing pressure shower, great location!!
- Pronounced, (10/5): Hidden Gem - A wonderful hidden gem. Very quiet. A gigantic room overlooking gardens, even a fridge in the room! And there was a shared kitchen. Adorable family. I hope to go back. Watching the son drive the long skinny driveway. But he did it!
- Char (7/5): Very central - Great location Would be great if the bins could emptied every day- as toilet paper needed to be put in the bins and not flushed dien the toiket. In the hot weather, there could be a stench otherwise.
- Thi (9/5): Superb - I stayed at this place for a week. The location is right in the center so everywhere is walkable. We can book a bike or car easily. I love the shared kitchen very much. I and my friend used it pretty much every day. Nothing can beat the feeling of home when traveling.
- Premakumar (10/5): Great place to stay as couple. Center for all Ubud attractions. - Perfect place for couple. None
- Sangmeet (9/5): Superb -
- Griffin (10/5): Perfect accommodation in Ubud! - Ubud Dream is a beautiful home stay just off the Main area of Ubud - the location was PERFECT for everything we wanted to do (monkey forest, markets, palace etc)
The host Titik and her whole family made our stay so comfortable, with transport from the airport and answering any questions we had. We wanted a driver for the day very last minute, and Krisna her brother stepped in to take us around the nearby temples, rice fields and waterfalls, and had so many interesting things to say about the area and the local culture.
The room was super comfortable and the place comes equipped with a kitchen and good wifi. It’s also nicely quiet at night for somewhere that’s so close to the main road.
1000/10 would recommend for anyone to stay here if you want to visit Ubud! Nothing - it was great!
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional - - Very central in Ubud
- Had hot water for showing
- I booked for some rest before my flight home No complaints
- Noureldin (7/5): Good -
- Diana (10/5): Well located cozy apartment with good Wi-Fi for working - - the host Titik is lovely, she tries to help you with suggestions
- location in the center of Ubud, 10 min walking from the Monkey forest and the other way to the Ubud Palace and also rice fields. Its at the end of a long quiet street
- good place for working remotely as the Wi-Fi is strong enough
- you can use the common kitchen
- minimart, restaurants and shops right on the main street
- parking is available free of charge if you rent a scooter - there is an extensive reconstruction going on daily from around 8am till 5pm (didnt bother me much since I had windows oriented to the other side, but I could hear it throughout the day)
- bathroom is also part of your room (the sink and mirror - the shower and toilet are separate)
- the rooms are located on the first floor, accessible only by staircase which is comfortable for the stay, but keep in mind you might need to ask someone for help with your luggage if you cant carry it yourself (I couldnt because of back problems)
- it takes 1-2 hours to get to the Immigration office depending on traffic (you need to go 3 times to extend your visa), costs 200.000 IDR if you use Grab/Gojek application
- David (10/5): Great location and value with a helpful host. - A great location near the main street, yet very quiet. Host was helpful. He arranged a ride to our next hotel near airport. The building had a classic quality to it--much stone, family temple. We didn't use it, but the property had a very nice common kitchen for guest use. Rooms were spacious. Great to have a safe, but it would be better if the safe itself was secured to something.
- Caroline (7/5): Good - Great location
Very nice staff
Loved my stay- big room lots of space
- Vanessa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alena (10/5): Great option if you want to stay in the center of Ubud! - Very clean, hosts are very friendly and help with anything you ask for, great location, great value for the price! Nothing to add here
- Cassandra (6/5): Pleasant - Central location Not entirely clean, loads of ants around.
Loud bars at night, construction in the morning.
Hosts were not welcoming or friendly
Not a lot of natural light
I’ve stayed at cheaper homestays that were much nicer
- Nicola (6/5): Poor value for money - Good location in central Ubud The room smelt a little of drains and there was a lot of noise around due to the location (music and dogs barking). This was the second place I stayed in Ubud and it was more expensive than the other but not better quality, therefore I don’t think it was good value for money
- Arunava (5/5): Passable - The Size of the Room. This is only a Homestay. Car can't reach to door, which is approx 100 mts from main road. Bathroom is not suitable for everyone. Rooms are only in first floor, stairs not comfortable. Avoid if there is no strickt budget constraints
- Changbae (8/5): Very good -
- Floris (7/5): Allright accommodation with spacious rooms and comfortable beds. - Very spacious room with nice bathroom. Enormous, comfortable bed. Unfortunately, we had a miscommunication with the owner. Luckily, everything was fixed in the end but we felt a bit uncomfortable during the discussions via chat.
- Mak (10/5): Exceptional - The room is very quiet and clean , and the bed is very comfortable .the kichen is good .outside the view is very green and peaceful .I was Suspose to stay 1 night , then I extended 2 more days .
- Jennifer (8/5): Clean, central location, super fast wifi - This was a great place, it was in a good, central location. The wifi was SUPER fast which was good because I work remotely. Good shower pressure and you can have a full hot shower which is sometimes hard to find in Bali. The place is also really clean and is a really nice place to chill while you explore Bali. I really didn't like how all the lights in the room were fluorescent! Even the lamp on the bedside table had a fluorescent light in it. Would have been nice if there was at least 1 lamp with a yellow light. Fluorescents hurt my eyes. The place is also near the monkey forest, so at night I would hear a lot of animal noises and would wake up often in the night because of it. Would have been nice to get a heavier blanket. They just have a sheet on the bed, but I'm sure if I asked they would have it.
- Coskun (8/5): overall it was very nice. - Great location and value money. Clean room. bathroom might be a bit better
- Coskun (8/5): Very good -
- Damian (9/5): Superb - Spacious room, very clean No bum spray
