Guest Reviews
- Zuofei (8/5): - There are some tourist shops nearby, but no convenient store. The room is clean, but very small. Bathroom is small too.
- Diane (10/5): - This Rome hotel was lovely and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
- Sabre (10/5): - Staff reached out towards all my concerns and set us up for transportation with request response within 24hours or less. Definitely recommend this hotel! Very convenient to most sites with 15mins or less unless going to coliseum which was about 25mins. Lots of restaurants around to choose from.
- SiewSuang (6/5): - Place is smaller than what you expected
- Domenica (10/5): - Staff was very accommodating. Great location. Very cosy.
- Brian (4/5): - Terrible facilities!
Paper thin walls, bed needs to b replaced as do pillows.
Though I was staying in a hostel with all guests in my room. You can hear every word and sound from all surrounding rooms.
Staff were wonderful !
- Vincenzo (4/5): - No security no safety alarm the should have 2 key , no soap terrible washrooms noise
- Natalie S. (10/5): - It is very clean and friendly workers.
- Cindy (8/5): - It is super central, but quiet at the same time.
- Kathryn (8/5): - It was a convenient location, but when I emailed the company regarding a queen bed and was responded with we would have a queen bed,we were in fact given a double bed and when asked we were told the entire place only had double beds. Another issue was that a third person apparently thought they could bunk with us without my knowledge and that was cleared up when we checked in
- Dane (8/5): - My wife and I stayed here for 1 night back in May of this year. The service was very good, and the elevator was helpful. The street was a little dark at night, but the area was relatively safe feeling. The location was great; very close to shops, restaurants, and the Metro. The room was clean, but the bed was quite uncomfortable with thin sheets. The bathroom was decent but could use some extra deep cleaning. But the price was great for proximity to attractions!
- Isaias (10/5): - At first, I was somewhat shocked but then surprised and please because of several reasons: super centric I mean 15 mins walk from St. Peters Square, 7 min Piazza Navonna, Pantheon 10 mins... you get it... it made things simple and great to tour around. The room was clean and the mattress super comfy. The bathroom is tight, cant lie, but we managed and it worked out. Be open to be dazzled and charmed by this location.
- Rita (8/5): - Staff was very helpful and courteous.
- Mickel (4/5): - Location is the best thing this hotel has going for it. Lots of attractions are close, you could see 1 or2 then pop back to room for a cool break. That is about the only positive it has. Our room was small, then we had a cot for our daughter, the worst part was the bathroom. You couldn’t sit on toilet straight you had to sit sideways. Since we were there in August it was HOT so we needed to go back to the room for breaks. When in the room you need the wifi it was spotty at best. The bed was uncomfortable but we find most European beds are hard and flat.
- Lynnie (8/5): - comfortable bed and pillow, good ac, hot/cold shower, good internet access, walkable to restaurants, groceries and some landmarks. Very professional and helpful front office staff.
- Elena (8/5): - .
- Scott (8/5): - The room was clean. The location was central enough we could walk to the major sites all within 20 min or less.
Our room was very small though. You wouldn’t want to spend a great amount of time in the room. But the staff were great and it was a cool location with local restaurants and the bakery especially was great.
- Alexander (6/5): - The hotel is located on the quiet street not far from all major attractions in the city center. Plaza Navona, Pantheon, etc. there is elevator, so we didn’t have to worry about bringing the suitcases upstairs. Room is small but clean, I guess it is not suitable for a long stay - just one or two days, when you don’t have to unpack all your staff.
- Kaiquan (4/5): - Dusk in room
- Donna (10/5): - While it took us awhile to find the door, we loved our stay. The staff was very helpful and answered all of our questions. We will remember this hotel for future visits.
- Maria (10/5): - The room was very comfortable and the staff are very gentle
- Christina (10/5): - Great location with major sites nearby. It is located on a beautiful little Italian street with a little market, Cafe and restaurant doors down. Excellent value. Friendly staff.
- Jose (10/5): - Great location. Close to everything. Room was a little small but fine for 2 people.
- Michelli (10/5): - Great spot!!
- Kristin (10/5): - Great location. Walkable to many sites. Staff helpful in arranging transportation for us.
- Charles (8/5): - Overall, the experience was OK. The room at least had AC, and was remodeled but the ceiling kept breaking, and the dust kept falling on my face. Here’s a picture of the wood dust that kept falling every day. If it didn’t have creep floors on the top, this place would be a five star. Because of the location it is good too.
- Claudia Mejia (4/5): - I was really disappointed at this property. We left the next day we arrived because we were so tired we couldn’t have done it before. The room is extremely narrow so one can barely move. The soap for shower is a small envelope and the air conditioner was not working well. Place didn’t even offered a refund for the rest of the stay already paid for. Even though is well located I wouldn’t recommend it.
- Joseph (8/5): - The beds are comfortable, but the room and specially the bathroom are very small.
The street below is/can be very noisy in the middle of the night - if you leave your window open.
The location is very convenient for most of the venues. They are reachable by walking
- Steven (4/5): - The room had mold in the walls, you could smell it very easily while entering it. The main floor before you get to the union smells sewage (that’s a city problem not just there) but it gives an idea of where you going on the first floor! It’s a good location, walking steps from lots of activities and bars/restaurants! I don’t recommend, unless you just care about sleeping and no quality and comfort, it’s up to you!
- Joanne (10/5): - This property is more guest-house style. The room was clean and there were staff at hand most of the day.
When you approach the property you wonder if you're in the right place when you approach a fairly non-descript large wooden door. Don't worry, you're in the right place.
The location is great - in the historic part of Rome, close to Castell Sant'Angelo, walkable to Vatican City, Piazza Navarro and close to the Hop-On, Hop-Off buses.
There are plenty of restaurants, bars and cafe's close by.
- Franco (8/5): - -
- Jane Ellen (10/5): - A little gem of a stay!
The rooms are nt huge but the bed is comfortable, the linen is clean and made every day. The shower works well. It's just off the River Tiber and the Castle Angelo. The little street has a few bars that will do breakfast and some shops. There is a MacDonalds around the corner as well where even the Italians were buying coffee! It's quiet when it needs to be but you are in the centre of Rome. Walking distance to the sights so if you plan your routes you can take it all in. Taxi fare from the airport fixed at 55 euros, which is handy as the reception here is not manned after 9pm. You need to request assistance after these hours and pay about 10 to 20 euros extra per booking to check in depending on the hour. Dont forget a tourist tax per person per night as well. We ticked all our boxes and ate in some lovely restsurants. All in all a good city break!
- Karam (2/5): - We stayed in the “Villa D’Este” room and unfortunately had a very poor experience. The receptionist gave us incorrect Wi-Fi information, resulting in unusable internet, and the room was much smaller than described. The towel heater was missing a knob, leaving a sharp exposed screw that I hit my head on, causing bleeding—staff responded by taping it over. The toilet leaked with every flush, the shower head wouldn’t stay in place, and the A/C unit began dripping water onto the bed. When we reported these issues, instead of offering a room change or compensation, staff sent maintenance into our room while we were trying to rest before a long tour. On top of that, staff entered the room without knocking on multiple occasions. The only positive was the location, but overall, I would not recommend this property.
- David (6/5): - We certainly liked the location. It was close to most all of the places we wanted to visit, and we were in walking distance of most. The most inconvenient aspect of our 2 week stay was the bathroom. It was smaller than most closets, yet somehow there was a sink, a toilet, and a shower all crammed into it. I wish I would have taken a photo. Your left leg had to be in the shower to sit on the toilet, and you couldn't bend down to the sink without hitting your behind on the shower enclosure. It was really that tight, and we're not weight challenged. No where to shelf your soap or shampoos in the shower. The toilet took several minutes to recharge between flushes. Just a number of annoyances. We adjusted to what little few amenities there were and adjusted the volume of our white noise generator to drown out all the noise from the street and our immediate neighbors. The staff was great and helpful, especially Iana and Sara. The location also made up for much of the inconvenience. Overall, we roughed it a little, but had a good time in Rome!
- frank (10/5): - Hotel is great . Love the people
- Rodney (10/5): - We stayed for 5 days in room 101 from 5-19 to 5/23/2025, which I believe is called their double room. Room was very clean, well lit, and very spacious. Toilets were in great working order. Notices a little maybe mold, on the tank above the toilet, but can tell it has been tried to be clean. Nothing for us to care about. It’s not a brand new building, so it’s not like you should be expecting a 5 star hotel. The receptionist, both girls, were amazing! They even checked in on us if we were happy with how the room was cleaned. Stay is perfect for anywhere you wanna walk. Longest walk, maybe 30 minutes to Colosseum. But we took our time walking as well. Was a nice quit, back street area. When you leave the hotel, go left, take the first right and then next right, and there’s a free water source right there. Not even a minute walk. PLENTY of places to eat within a minute walk. Piazza Navona, less than 5 minutes.
One thing they should have mentioned in notes is, when you enter, walk straight to elevator, and go up to floor 2. We were a tad confused at first, when we arrived. This is one of the best hotels we have stayed in, in a long time. Will definitely be staying there again, when we go again. Not sure about other rooms, with the negative reviews, but 101 was PERFECT.
- John (10/5): - Check in was easy and staff have been great
- Elsa (8/5): - Ac need to be updated
- Joaquin (4/5): - Buena ubicación del hotel para caminar hacia lugares que deben ser visitados en Roma.
- Vanessa (10/5): - My husband and I had an incredible time in this hotel, staff was wonderful, the location is the best. I love everything about our experience in Antica.
We will be back!
- Zachary (4/5): - Host was very nice and very conveniently located. Though the room smelled of mildew and was small.
- Justin (8/5): - Overall good place to stay. Location was great and the staff were very nice! My only complaint is about the bathroom. The shower only had one door and the curtain they hung in place of the missing door did very little to stop the water from ending up on the ground. Also the shower pressure would fluctuate and when that would happen the shower head would spray over the shower and all over the bathroom soaking everything.
- Ora (6/5): - The location is within the walking distance to many tourist attractions. Staff were helpful and friendly.
The hotel signage is almost nonexistence. We found it by asking the locals using the hotel's address.
The room seemed nice but not function well. No cups or glasses. Maid provided only towels and toilet paper. Shampoo/shower gel were inconvenient single use small envelopes. They were difficult to tear open for senior with arthritis hands. Bathroom looked new and clean but there is no place to hold soap/shampoo in the shower stall. No place to hang used towels in order to reuse them the next day.
- Jared (10/5): Great staff and awesome location. - I had an awesome stay! Would highly recommend. It’s tucked away in a quiet street with walking distance to many fantastic sites. Lots of awesome restaurants around. Beds are comfortable. Shower works great and is warm. They have a bidet. The bathroom is a bit small but works m. Very clean rooms with fresh linens and towels. Excellent service at the front desk. Very friendly and attentive. They checked on us prior and during our stay. They were able to get us a taxi to the airport very easily.
- Jason (10/5): - Beautiful room. Very clean. Staff was very nice and helpful. Place was walkable to everything. Even the farthest was about ab35 min walk but walking through Rome, it didn't matter the time.
- jamie (2/5): - Very deceiving photos. The rooms are tiny, the bathrooms are tinier and have a lot of black mold. This is not a true hotel, with only one elevator that takes forever and has a 2-person capacity max. I would not recommend
- Brendan (10/5): - This place is great for what it is! We were in a small room with a private bathroom and it was exactly that! We spent our time in Rome and needed a safe place to rest at the end of each day. The staff were lovely and helpful, cleaning was done daily and we felt safe and able to walk to all of the best spots! Would highly recommend if you're not expecting anything luxurious or where you'll spend a bunch of time!
- Angela (6/5): - Great location
- larry (6/5): - Pics were a little deceptive on the site
- Tom (6/5): - Convenient to attractions
- Nathan (8/5): - We stayed at Antica Locanda dell'Orso with this being the last stop in a world tour. Overall, it was ok. We found that the walls are extremely thin (we could hear anyone and everyone come and go), There was what looked like mold in the bathroom, and as for being labeled "luxury rooms", it's far from it (I'm sorry but its true). Now, with that out of the way, the saving grace here is the staff. They were the best part of this stay. All staff were friendly and helpful. The building is located right around the corner almost to the Pantheon, so it's a good base for people who are interested in seeing sites. We found the rooms small even for EU standards, but we will say that the water pressure was outstanding. Personally, we won't return for another stay and probably won't recommend it either. Normally, we wouldn't say much as we usually "go with the flow", but for the money, rent somewhere else.
- marianne (8/5): - Very nice
- Norma (6/5): - You can hear everything from other rooms around you , preventing you from a good night sleep, they had lights all over the hallway that kept turning on and not letting you sleep,
- Mark (8/5): - The location is the best attribute of this place. No more than 30 minutes walking to anywhere worth visiting. Plenty of dining options, convenience stores tucked away in a great part of Rome.
- Kristi (6/5): - Sliding shower dirty and leaked. I would suggest a small table and two chairs would make the stay sooo much more convenient. Bedding and room clean besides the shower
- Debra (8/5): - The receptionist was so helpful and excellent services. Our room was very small but good for the price
- Phyllis (10/5): - I can't wait to go back here! This location is close to everything. And nice and quiet. The staff is outstandingly friendly.
- arman (4/5): - Room and bathroom covered in mold, smells awful, and wifi is terribly slow don't bother, good location but can't recommend with how disgusting the room was
- Anna (10/5): - A staff member named Rosa was very helpful and always happy to help with any questions like extra pillows or scheduling airport transportation.
The property was always clean and quiet.
Location was the best part. Many restaurants around the property and close to the Pantheon and many other places.
Highly recommend this place!
- Kim (6/5): - If you are looking for less expensive and do not care about comfort, this would work. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the location is good. Far enough from the noise but close to lots of things (St.Peters, Santangelo, etc). Our room was small but served the purpose. The headboard had a thick layer of dusk with much dust under the beds. Other than that, the room was clean. Housekeeping came everyday with clean sheets, towels, to take out garbage and straighten the room. My only real complaints are with the bathroom and beds. The beds were very hard. We woke up every morning with sore shoulders (side sleepers). The bathroom was freezing, no heat in there. I dreaded sitting on that freezing porcelain!
- Roy (8/5): - Fine
- Durafshan (8/5): - Nicely maintained.
- Marites (6/5): - Walkable to the main attraction
- Kate (10/5): Will definitely be back! - We had a lovely night in this hotel, located in the heart of the old town, great restaurants nearby. Very helpful and friendly staff too. We were able to leave our luggage after we checked out.
- Kathy (10/5): - An excellent location, safe and most attractions are walkable. Excellent dining options close by. Bathroom a little small and HVAC unit outside room a little noisy as it turned off and on. Very friendly, helpful staff.
- Maria (4/5): - The room did not have a mirror although the hotel invested in several picture frames for decor; the bathroom is narrow, not enough space/rack for toiletries and the shower is slippery. The heated towel rack did not have a dial for it to be used. We were not provided with blankets and when I requested for one, they gave us a doona, that looks like a bed protector, without a doona cover sheet. Very disappointed!
- Fermin (6/5): - Property is near to Vatican and piazza navona.
But room is very small.
- elizabeth (4/5): - This was a basic property but good location for sight seeing and lots of places to eat and drink a few minutes walk away
Only sachets of shampoo and shower so I would advise to take your own.
Our room was at rear with not a good view.
- Edward (8/5): - The staff was very helpful and pleasant. Would stay there again because it’s a great location and because of staff.
- Verified traveler (4/5): I’d avoid this place, overall pretty sketchy.. - I would avoid this property. It’s clear that the ladies running it mean well and have put a lot of effort into making the common areas look nicer than the building they are in. However, our room was pretty humid and dirty. The side tables and counters had black markings all over, the shower and sink did not properly drain. And even though the listing said the room had working AC, the in room unit was leaky and full of mildew. The onsite manager attempted to look at it but then claimed none of the units in the building work. We were underwhelmed.
- josephine (10/5): - Thank
- Joshua (8/5): - Great location
- Cynthia (6/5): - The communication with the property is terrible. We attempted to call two days prior to extending our stay, but no one answered.
big negative is that you can hear people ringing the door bell all night to be let in
- Michael (10/5): - Quiet and comfortable with a very helpful staff. Perfectly located to good restaurants and Piazza Navona
- Claire (10/5): - Very convenient hotel in walking distance from all the main attractions but in a lovely quaint quiet area so sleeping was no problem and lovely restaurants around. Staff were very helpful. Facilities of the hotel were basic but that was all we needed.
- Salvieda (6/5): - The location was great and walkable to many places. Staff was helpful. The room is too small for three people and AC didn't work much. The mattress is getting thinner so make it uncomfortable. Overall stay was ok.
- Christina (8/5): - This hotel is in a great location on a back side street. Walkable to the sights, Vatican, and shops and restaurants. Small room but very affordable for the area.
- Alejandro (10/5): - Walking distance from almost everything, eveb the Vatican
- Roberto (10/5): - The hotel staff are friendly and helpful.
- Melanie (8/5): - This place was quite hard to find as the sign for the hotel is extremely small but once we found it, it was a very cute boutique hotel. The room we booked was likely the smallest room they have. If we had realized it was that small, we would have booked a larger room but that’s our fault. This room is more intended for a single traveller as it is very hard to get around with two people and luggage. This place is super unique and cozy. Perfect area as well.
- Cheryl (8/5): - Location was very convenient once we found it with many things very walkable. Room was very small and bathroom was even smaller. It was difficult to move around in bathroom you had to be careful not to hit your head on the towel rack when getting off toilet. Otherwise it was nice they had an elevator and the staff was very helpful.
- Cindy (8/5): - This was perfect for two nights. The rooms are tiny but comfortable. Very quiet. It is not a bed and breakfast considering there is no food. Walking everywhere was easy and safe.
- Ana Aida (10/5): - I love the location of the hotel, it is clean and the staff is very friendly! Sarah was very helpful and nice, the space is reduce but location is the best!
- Kira (10/5): - Such a great location. Lots of shops and dining around and walking distance to everything. Staff was friendly!
- Nhi (8/5): - Property was overall good. There is an elevator which is good for travellers with suitcases. The bathroom is very small which made it u comfortable during the stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Basic accommodations, clean and comfortable but no extras…. No bar, no room service etc. If you just want a place to sleep, this is it. Excellent location for touring.
- Robert (6/5): - Location was very good! Room was clean!
Room needed repairs! This hotel should be rated fair or good! Definitely not very good!
- Aditya (6/5): - The staff was great and very helpful but the rooms were too tiny. My partner and I stayed there for 3 nights and by the end of it we couldn’t wait to leave this place.
The restroom was a bit leaky which had led to a bad odor.
It had an air conditioner which was the only thing which was nice in the room
- Rechen (8/5): - The staff service was excellent. I don’t normally write reviews but Carmen deserves to be recognized for her top-notch customer service. She kept in touch with us the whole time we were in the airport to make sure we are able to reach our shuttle driver even when it was past her shift. Lemuel also checked us in with ease and efficiency. The room itself is tiny and can use a bit more storage space but it’s not a big deal as you will be around the city all day.
- Gary (8/5): - We booked the cheapest room which was very small. The decor is bright and modern and I regret not choosing a bigger room
- Yolanda (6/5): - Area surrounding property lacks cleanliness. Rooms are very small and bathrooms are tiny and in need of repairs.
- J (8/5): - Staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay.
There was a few marks/blemishes on some of the furniture in the room. The shower also needs a little bit of maintenance with the fixings coming away from the wall and also the electrics at the top having a slight gap.
- Lori (6/5): - Basic room, comfortable bed.
Walkable to most must see.
It had a lift which was great, and the a/c worked great.
My only complaint was how thin the walls must be, i could have actually carried on a conversation with other rooms. It was very startling in the night.
- Horacio (8/5): - La ubicacion muy buena,cerca de todo.El baño muy pequeño pero aceptable.Zona sin parking.Volveria
- Tiffany (6/5): - The location is great and easily walkable, and the price of the room was fair. The floor of the room we were assigned was quite dirty (as in, in need of a broom and mop). But the bed, sheets, and towels were fresh and clean. In terms of the condition of the room, it was obviously renovated but there was a lot of mold behind the bathroom mirror and some water damage around the bathroom door frame. The room was very humid and felt damp, especially at night, and the a/c was not very cooperative and did not address this issue. Small things however compared to how friendly and helpful the staff are, and again, the fantastic location/price of this hotel.
- Carlos (8/5): - The place was a little smaller than I expected, but it was clean. You have to bring your own soap because what was provided was not nearly enough. Other than that is a very nice place to stay at. Will do it again.
- Pratik (10/5): - Great
- Beatriz (6/5): - The facilities were disappointing – there was mold in the bathroom, and the ceiling was leaking. For the price, I expected better. The room didn’t even have basic amenities like a kettle or cups. The walls were so thin that I could hear someone snoring throughout my stay as if they were in the same room. If you’re looking for a peaceful stay, this isn’t the place. Every morning at around 8:30 AM, the cleaning staff starts their shift with a lot of noise, dragging furniture, knocking on doors, and even whistling, it’s like a singing earthquake, making it impossible to get any rest. The only positives were the convenient location and the friendly reception staff - All the ladies were exceptional!
- Galileo (10/5): - I was a bit skeptical when I arrived at the door of the property. It’s is an old building with an old door. When I got in, I needed to find the lift or the stairs to get to the 2nd floor where the reception was. I was greeted by a very nice lady and she helped my check in easy. When I got into my hotel room, I was in awe. The room was very elegant and dainty. The sheets were clean and the beddings smelled fresh. The saying was indeed true, “Don’t judge the book by its cover.” The hotel is truly a hidden gem in the heart of Rome. It is only a few minute walk to the Valley I can too.
- Wing (10/5): - The room is very spacious and the area is close to everything!
