- Steven (1/5): My stay at this hotel was a series of unpleasant experiences with poorly maintained rooms and seriou - Nothing Upon my arrival, I was shown three rooms. The first two had a strong unpleasant odor, which the staff member even confirmed. The room I eventually got had no Wi-Fi. When I asked for another room, the staff member said I could switch the next day. In this room, the mattress was completely sagging, and the water from the faucet initially came out brown-yellow. The next day, I switched rooms. While the Wi-Fi worked in this new room, the heating was broken. I only noticed this in the evening since I went to the city after switching rooms. In the evening, the staff member tried for over two hours to fix the issue and find another room. She offered me two more rooms, neither of which had working Wi-Fi, and one of them smelled unpleasant again. This process lasted until after 11 PM. Meanwhile, the refrigerator in another guest's room caught fire while she was sleeping, and the entire floor smelled strongly of burnt plastic. I then said it was already late and that it seemed there were no functioning rooms available. I decided to stay in the broken room and requested a discount. She said that was not possible. In this room, the mattress was again sagging, and the shower only dripped – it needed descaling. The whole hotel is run-down and far too expensive at $20 per night. I strongly advise avoiding this hotel. You can get something better for your money in Asunción.

- LeonardoDeSouza (6/5): - É a terceira vez que me hospedo no Hostel El Viajero, e baseado nos comentários que vi recentemente, venho a corroborar o que foi dito por alguns que também já estiveram no hostel antes. As beliches estão em estado precário, impossível não despertar quem está dormindo no quarto ao tentar subir as escadas das mesmas. O compartimento para guardar mochila acoplado à cama não representa nenhum tipo de segurança, haja vista que levantando o estrado da cama você você estará fazendo o mesmo que abrir o cadeado que colocou como uma forma de resguardar seus pertences. Com exceção da Lizbeth (venezuelana) que é nota 1000, os demais funcionários do hostel não demonstram a mínima simpatia no trato com as pessoas. Chegando ao ponto de duas delas inclusive, aceitarem o refrigerante que lhes ofereci, por educação, e nem sequer demonstrarem a mínima noção de educação de me agradecer. O café da manhã antes já era fraco, porém como estava incluído na tarifa, fazia com a relação custo-benefício valesse a pena. No atual molde, de se cobrar à parte pelo café, realmente na minha opinião o El Viajero deixou de ser uma boa opção para se hospedar em Asunción. Tampa do banheiro quebrada, toda solta... um verdadeiro descaso!

The common areas are spacious, there’s a pool and a barbeque area. Great for backpackers and to travel in groups. The personnel is really nice. Overall really good for the price
- Benjamin (4/5): ME COBRARON DE MÁS !!!! - Hice la reserva online, con el pago total de respaldo, con tarjeta de crédito y el precio era en dólares, cuando llego al hotel, si pagaba con tarjeta, ME SUMABAN 10% de recargo, y cobraban en guaraníes, no en dólares. Me cobraron en efectivo, 200mil guaraníes de más que lo estipulado del cambio oficial de dólares a guaraníes. El precio del hostel es excesivamente superior comparado con otros hoteles o incluso alquiler de departamentos, con la recarga que me hicieron hubiese ido a otro lado, de no ser que si cancelaba me cobraban el 100% de la tarjeta que usé para reservar. El desayuno es 3 rebanadas de pan lactal con una cucharada de manteca y otra de mermelada en 2 vasos descartables. Cuando entramos estaban tirando Matabichos en aerosol sobre los utensilios limpios. El jabón para baño era una rebanada de jabón blanco, RECICLADO, cortado con cuchillo. No disponen de hielo para huéspedes, y tampoco hay agua caliente para mate/infusiones. La sala de juegos hay que pagar, y el pool, además de ser pago, solo tiene 2 tacos y uno de ellos roto en la punta. La habitación reservada era una matrimonial con baño privado. Nos dieron una habitación tipo duplex con 3 camas en el medio piso, ese piso estaba afectado por la humedad y se sentía en el aire del ambiente. Las paredes estaban rajadas y con marcas de humedad visibles. Lo único bueno, el patio. El precio de las bebidas era igual al de cualquier bar. No lo recomiendo bajo ningún punto de vista y no voy a volver a ese lugar.

- Sharon (6/5): Central location/good price, but beware of noise! - I stayed a total of 7 nights here. Its central location is goo, staff friendly, and private rooms simple but adequate (with AC, tv). Continental breakfast was simple but fine. My major complaint about this place is that the staff do nothing to control the noise level of guests, particularly when there are large groups of hostelers. On my two different stays, I had a very quiet/normal amount of noise on some nights, but then large groups arrived -- first some US college kids that probably would have partied all night, but they had adult supervision so the loud music was shut off at 11 pm or so. But then there was another group of young men {maybe a local team of some sort), and they literally stayed up drinking and partying all night long for two nights. On the second night, they turned on the music in the patio to discoteque level volumes at almost 1 am.... I let a few songs play thinking the people at the reception would intervene to shut them down. Well, they didn't. So I just stood on my balcony and shouted at them at the top of my lungs to turn down the music so people could sleep!!! Fortunately they did, but this isn't something I should have had to do.
