- Jesus (10/5): - We have used these cabins over the years. Staff is very kind professional and helpful. We went for a softball game. I love that you could walk to the field. Very clean cabin complete with kitchen. 5 stars over and over again
- Fray (8/5): -
- Craig (6/5): -
- juan martin (10/5): - Great place and great hosts.
- Linda (7/5): We didn't need that much room or the kitchen. - A bat got into our room Friday night but I got it out.
- Diane (10/5): High Country Lodge does not disappoint! - I will definitely go back! Clean room! Friendly property owner! Deer, elk, and wild horses roam behind cabins….breathtaking!
- ERICA (10/5): - The cabin was very cozy. It had all the necessities. Front desk was very friendly and welcoming! We will definitely stay here again. The only thing I recommend is better indoor lighting but I still give a 5!!
- Rhoda (10/5): High Country Lodge is a haven for family time. - We like to proximity to Ruidoso Winter Park. Also, the cabin-feel is so relaxing yet the place provide with high speed internet.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Cozy and Comfortable - Very comfortable and had a nice home feeling. The staff was excellent. They were very nice and friendly. We will definitely be back.
- Kimberlie (10/5): - The owners were super friendlyThey have great info on restaurants and activities! Loved the property. If youre not familiar with the area, know that peak traffic time to the ski resort can be dangerous entering and exiting the property.
- Linda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dean (8/5): Very good -
- Christian (7/5): If we go back to Ruidosa again we will definitely consider this place. - It was exactly what I expected, older but clean and comfortable. It showed signs of age but 4 of us were comfortable and even to make a big breakfast in the room. The heater was very noisy so we just turned it off at night. Thankfully it was not very cold so we were able to sleep comfortably without the heat.
- Fred (9/5): Superb -
- luis (10/5): - Place was cozy
- Frances (10/5): Relaxing - We got there and really didn't expect much. But honestly this place was really comfortable. The kitchen has everything dishes, pan, spoon, forks, knives, etc. It did have a Keurig I don't know why I thought it was a regular coffee pot. Beds were comfy and soft. Blankets, sheets, pillows, provided. Game room was a nice not a lot of games but was still very fun! They had balls for basketball court, volleyball, tether ball. Beautiful view lots of trees and mountains very relaxing. Thank y'all we really enjoyed it here!!
- Jerry (9/5): Superb -
- Pinkerton (8/5): Great for the price - View Beds a little wore out
- William (8/5): Had a great stay, even extended it one extra day. -
- Larissa (10/5): Labor Day weekend getaway - Had a great stay for a couple of days. Nice room, comfy beds. Would stay there again!
- Marie (10/5): Exceptional - It was conveniently located. The check in and out were also very easy. The place was very comfortable and clean.
- Elizabeth (9/5): The owners and families treated us very well and helped us feel safe with fire chaos. -
- Henrique (10/5): - This is an old property. The people in the property are exceptionally good. Very serviceable and very nice. If you looking for upscale accommodations look somewhere else. A great place to sit and enjoy the night. I love our stay here.
- Melissa (8/5): Overall, our stay was nice just wish the beds were more comfortable. - Its in a good location right off the freeway and there was a gas station next door. Peaceful and quiet, we can see deers through the bedroom windows. The beds were very uncomfortable. Especially the one we slept on, it caves in the middle and the pillows were not comfortable so I wasn’t able to get much sleep. The stove didn’t work when we tried using it but once I called the office they sent a guy over and fixed it within an hour.
- Saiz (10/5): Fam Vaca June 2024 - The property was quiet, good location, friendly staff, overall was a great experience and we will be going back. One of the fans in the room did not work, there was a lot of dust and dirt under the bed along with some candy wrappers but over all it was still a clean rental.
- Brenda (10/5): - Could see alto lake from my cabin. Enjoy seeing the herd of wild mustang
- Kelsey (10/5): Exceptional -
- Trujillo (8/5): Surrounded by nature. - Cute cabin-like condos. Clean. Deer and elk were in the backyard Make sure heater is working. It's chilly in the mountains
- Jesse (8/5): Very good -
- juan martin (10/5): - Great place with great hosts .
- Cheryl (7/5): Ok Cabin but it is duplexes and can hear others - Convenient location if you are going to go to ski at Apache. It is 35 to 40 minutes from Apache ski resort. It is 20 minutes from Walmart. The beds were very springy and noisy to sleep on. My Husband and I are big people and we would roll into each other on the bed. It only has one bathroom and had to share with teenagers. But if we were by ourselves it would have been ok. Could not take a bath because no plug and bottom of tub looked very old. For the price it is ok to just sleep
- Ricardo (10/5): - Love the location and the area. Reception lady was very nice and informative 👍
- Sherwin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kevin (9/5): Superb -
- Melodie (6/5): - The location is fantastic and the customer service was friendly and helpful.
The building is dated, cheaply constructed, and run down. The flooring had many chips in the tile, the bathroom sink didnt drain well, the shower and grouting was pretty gross, the kitchen lacked pans and cooking sheets, and the game room was really disappointing. There were only a few working arcade games, that required money to play, a the only free items were ping pong, tick-tack-toe and pac man. They also provide one bundle of firewood at check-in, but no means to light it within the room.
The tennis and basketball courts had deflated balls and the jungle gym was unsafe for use.
Overall, the stay was ok but it was significantly overpriced for what it offered.
- Robin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Irazema (9/5): Superb -
- Ricardo (4/5): Uncomfortable - Close to winter park and downtown The room was too old and there was a smell of old wood. The appliances were old and kind of mold. Mattresses were very uncomfortable to sleep.the furnace was too hot, and we had to turn it off and turn on constantly .
- Manuel (10/5): Hidden Gem - If you like to be away from all the buzz and noice of other areas. If you like to be left alone. This place is a hidden Gem that I wish I wouldn’t have to write this review so I could keep it hidden. But I also want to give proper attention to where it’s due and let other families enjoy this place like we did. The host is very friendly and helpful.(I apologize I forgot her name)
- Gary (8/5): great economical place to stay while in Ruidoso, NM - This was very close to Flying J Ranch, Alto Winter Park and Ski Apache, all of the things you'll want to do while in Ruidoso. All of the kitchen appliances were in good working order and plenty of room in the refrigerator, but if you don't feel like cooking there's plenty of good restaurants in close proximity. It met my expectations so there really wasn't anything that I did not like.
- Rose (10/5): Beautiful get away! - Quiet and peaceful Nothing
- Gina (1/5): We got about 2 hours of sleep and checked out the next morning despite having 2 more days rented. - The location was great. The beds were horrible. The fold-out bed was covered in hair. Nobody could use it. It was disgusting.
- Alfonso (10/5): Restfull - Everything! Thank you Joanne for all your help! Nothing
- Stacy (10/5): Chilly relaxing and will be back!! - Comfortable and close to lakes People outside after hours and loud neighbors.
- James (7/5): Over all very good - We didn't know there was a breakfast the basketball court is a little old
- Victoria (10/5): Great value, clean and easy to access - The location and price were great. The staff was friendly and very helpful. There was plenty of room for all of us. 4 Adults and 2 kids! We enjoyed our trip and would definitely recommend this facility to anyone! Well the neighbors got a little noisey after hours. Like at 1 am. We figured they just got home and decided to party after the bars closed!
- Ramon (9/5): Superb -
- J. (8/5): Homey, family-friendly, family-like staff. Great Value. - Friendly very helpful staff, I forgot my kindle and they found it and mailed it to me! good value, homey and reminds me of motor courts of days past. Room was in great shape.
- Patricia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michael (6/5): Pleasant -
- Sharon (10/5): Loved it - No brkfst. Location great O
- Barbara (8/5): - Loved having the front porch to sit outside and see the mountains even though there was road noise from the highway in front. The cabins were dated but the staff were friendly and accommodating.
- Juan (10/5): Exceptional -
- juan martin (10/5): - It is a great place for families to stay.
- Justin (9/5): Superb -
- Angelica (10/5): Exceptional - The perfect location to call it a relax weekend
- Anthony (7/5): Good - Location was great just the whole place would be better with a little dusting had alot of cob webs and dust maybe some ceiling fans rooms got a little stuffy over pleased with the our stay. Really can't complain about much only thing would be the dusting of rooms and the stuffiness of the room but overall a nice little getaway spot
- Stacy (9/5): can’t wait for next year!! - Beautiful scenery of the mountains aand close to the lake for fishing 👍
- Cathy (7/5): very comfortable - location good for event we were attending nothing
- Kristopher (8/5): Overall, it was a great stay with minimal issues. - Appreciate that they removed a very disruptive family next door to us. Overall very satisfied. Bathroom was the only real issue, since you can’t flush any toilet paper. But they are on a septic tank, so not much to do about it.
All of the blinds in our room were messed up and we had to use blankets to cover the windows if we wanted real privacy.
- Jesus (8/5): I would stay there again - it was nice cozy airy close to where going nothing
- Marisol (10/5): Exceptional -
- Adrian (8/5): Very good -
- Adrián (8/5): Very good -
- MARK (10/5): Would go back - It was a great stay, room was clean and the staff was super friendly. Cabins had an awesome view and we got to enjoy the snow
- Tara (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marquez (9/5): Superb - Great Host, very friendly and nice people.
- Amanda (10/5): Great stay! We will be back! - This was our second stay here and we were not disappointed. The owners of the property are VERY accommodating and even lent us some sleds to sled down the little hills in front of our rooms with our kiddos. Our dogs were welcomed and we all had a blast. I loved that the wild horses were at the stream at night and not far during the day! Only complaint I have is the kitchen items available for cooking. However, I realize it's probably hard to maintain a lot of cooking items over time and most people likely don't cook as much as we do on our vacations. Nothing to lower any ratings over, though!
- Anonymous (7/5): Good -
- Tracy (5/5): Passable -
- Tammie (4/5): Disappointing -
- Esqueda (9/5): Superb -
- Andrea (9/5): Superb - We loved the cozy cabin to celebrate Christmas with our family. It was the perfect size. The heater did not work our entire stay. It came on a couple of times but for some reason never worked. We used firewood to keep a fire going but throughout the nights it was really cold.
- Stephen (10/5): Great customer service! Great Location! - Offered great service the whole time! Close to the ski lifts! Great location! I see this place making a comeback! It is in a transition mode… but I see great potential!
- Jorge (9/5): Be back for a longer stay - Loved the fireplace. Cozy and comfortable, staff made us feel welcomed. Really nice ! I wish it snowed! Or was just a little colder. The heater worked great!
- Jocelyn (10/5): Overall i would definitely recommend this property and we will be staying here again - The Owners where so helplful and very friendly people they made sure our stay was great my family had a wonderfiul time the cabins were roomy and comfortable the view and the trees were great the kids really enjoyed the game room that had a pool table and a couple of arcade games location was great we did have a small issue with the restroom but again the owner did not hesitate to rectify the situation and did everything to make us comfortable
- Debra (5/5): Passable -

- Michelle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ramsay (9/5): Superb -
- Oralia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cora (8/5): Very nice, somewhat rustic, fun game room. - No breakfast. Location north of Ruidoso was perfect for our planned activities, especially Flying J Chuckwagon. Facilities were old, but decor was just right and obviously updated. Nice living room furniture and flooring. The game room was a real plus! Some of building basics could use improvement, like rust around tub drain, worn carpet and wear on the bathroom baseboards.
- Whiteman (5/5): The room felt dirty. - The staff was very friendly. The room was not very clean and very run-down.
