Guest Reviews
- Helen (2/5): - I cancelled my reservations with plenty of notice and never received a refund.
- Kim (10/5): - Vickie was very accommodating. Customer service is top on her list.
- Danilo (10/5): - Staying at the Eagle Bay Inn was one real GIFT! They are spotless and super welcoming! They offer a "hole day continental breakfast" that you can help yourself anytime. It also was a great surprise being picked up at the airport!! You really fell at home. When again at Sitka we will for sure choose The Eagle Bay Inn and we do recommend it to YOU!
- Kimberley (10/5): - The only drawback for some people would be that there is no elevator, but it’s only a two story so no big deal.
- Amy (10/5): - Absolutely phenomenal place to stay. The opitome of “Don’t judge a book by it’s cover”.
- Martin (10/5): - We had problems with getting to our ship, and Vickie the owner did everything she could to help!! The rooms are great, and what a view.
- Gabrielle (8/5): - Everything was perfect in the property. But Expedia should indicate that the check-in is between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM.
After 2, nobody is there and you have to call somebody. We had to call twice before somebody came to open the door.
- William (10/5): - Vicki and her team are amazing. Absolutely love staying here.
- Catherine (10/5): - Might not be 5 star BUT if you want the warmth of a family accommodation, this is the place for you.
- Joan (10/5): - great customer service, Kyle was wonderful in meeting us at midnight!
shuttle service to the airport is great!
- Bob (10/5): - The hotel is simple and no frills, but the staff was exceptionally accommodating. They respond immediately to your comfort and transportation needs.
- Robert (10/5): - Excellent customer service. Very helpful and friendly. Rooms were very clean and nice breakfast provided.
- Kathryn (10/5): Great staff - The staff were very helpful and friendly, and the continental breakfast was well stocked, including fresh fruit. I enjoyed the proximity to the National Park, the bus stop, and town.
- Irene (10/5): - Vicky and her team went out of their way to make our stay so memorable. The all day tea and coffee was a surprise as was the free shuttle to the airport.
- Celeste (8/5): - For an older place, the bathroom seemed to have been recently renovated and was very clean. The room was very clean and comfortable. Staff was super friendly and they went out of their way to make sure our stay was good.
- Celeste (10/5): - The room was clean and the staff personable and welcoming and very helpful.
- me* (10/5): - Friendly staff. Older property but recently upgraded and very comfortable.
- Kimberly (8/5): Great Small Hotel - Great small hotel with friendly staff.
- William (10/5): - Close to town beautiful view out the Bayside rooms. The staff did a great job
- Shawn (8/5): - Short in ambiance but staff was very accommodating. It’s located away from town but staff provides shuttle service.
Very close to a phenomenal park.
- John (6/5): - Not worth the cost. Needs some attention at these rates. For example internet speed very slow and Riki TV service non operational. Room and linens have strong deodorant smell. Very sparse amenities.
- Janice (6/5): - I’m sure this is a good place to stay. My brother has been there and recommended it. Unfortunately my online cancel did not work and I paid for 2 nights, but was not ever there.
- Kathleen (10/5): - Food options were available all day. Not just at breakfast. Bed was comfortable. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Laila dropped us off at a restaurant on her way home so we didn’t have to call a cab.
- MICHAEL (10/5): Gem - Great staff. Free Shuttle from ther airport. Took us to the boat terminal in the morning. Above and beyond. Great value.
- Mary Ann (10/5): Eagle Bay Inn - We stayed one night at Eagle Bay Inn and we were picked up at the airport by Laila and Kyle. Such nice people. They helped us with our questions. The next day we met Vicky (I think that is her name, the owner) was a hoot. Don't mess with Vicky, she tells it like it is and was just enjoyed visiting with her. Such a delight to have a truely compassinate person. Thank you Vicky, Laila and Kyle, y'all are the best!
- Nickalos (10/5): - The staff is very accommodating. Bear spray can be borrowed for excursions out into bear territory. "Breakfast" is self-serve and available 24/7 with a wide selection of quick grab items, including bagels and cream cheese, donuts, pastries, bread, cereal, coffee, and juices. Laundry is available 24/7 with no additional charge. The staff will do pick-up/drop-off service to/from the airport with schedule. The bed was incredibly soft and clean. A great place to stay in Sitka.
- Martin (10/5): - Vicki and her staff are wonderful. They will transport you anywhere you want to go.
Near the Raptor Center and the memorial park.
Unsure that walking there at night is safe.
- Jan (10/5): Really nice, family run motel - From the courtesy pickup at the airport, to help with my lost phone (dropped-and found-in the van), we had a very pleasant stay at this family run motel just a couple minutes away from downtown Sitka. While amenities were sparse, everything needed was there and it was clean and comfortable. A short walk to the Raptor Center, too.
- Juel (8/5): - Vickie was super helpful and personable. We were allowed to check in early which really helped us out. The room was clean and spacious. The building was relatively old but in good shape. I would recommend this anyone needing a one or two night stay. Its about a 5 min drive into town and food within walking distance is very limited.
- Elizabeth (8/5): - From talking over the phone was very pleasant, i was stuck in Seattle Washington. Due to Alaska Airlines outage, so i never had a change to visit the hotel. Overall i give em 10 for trying to meet me when transportation was after 10:30pm.
- David (8/5): - Nice clean property and reasonably priced. Comfortable beds.
- Patricia (10/5): - I Loved Everything about this Place!! The colors in our room, the well stocked Breakfast bar, Coffee bar, the Friendly Staff... I would return ...
- Shauna (10/5): Great place to stay in Sitka - We had a great stay. Vicky is a great host. She picked us up and took us to the airport. There are snacks and drinks available all day. She let us into our room early. She told us about the area. I can't wait to stay there again!
- Andrea (10/5): - Vickie was great. We had a long delayed flight so we got in at 2AM. A staff member quickly drove to the inn to let us in and check us in. There is a great supply of stuff for a continental breakfast. A quick walk to diwntown Sitka.
- nancy (10/5): Clean and friendly - Staff extremely friendly, hotel is very clean and location was great for me since I was visiting family. I would call this hotel a hidden gem. Breakfast available daily and we had a room with the bay view.
- Nichole (8/5): - Very simple and reliable breakfast each morning that was available whenever you needed it. Staff was very friendly. It is located above a strip mall below; however, once inside, it is clean and feels recently updated.
- Torsten (10/5): Great little gem - The shuttle service to and from the airport was amazing. Our room had a nice view onto the beach.
Would stay here again.
- Alan (8/5): - Nice staff. Very convenient shuttle to and from a few locations including the airport. Nothing in the area to see or places to eat as it is outside the city.
- Russell (8/5): - Very clean. Miss Vicky was a stitch and very helpful. Property not much to look at, but front rooms have nice view of water. Property is quite a ways from downdown, just barely walkable. For the price we paid, we expected at least a box of tissues in the room. Not too much to ask?
- Becky (10/5): - Vicki, Joan and Kyle were excellent, knowlegdable, friendly, kind and very considerate of our needs, rides, local information about where and what to do in Sitka. We didnt see the person that cleaned the rooms but cleanliness was great.
- Lynn (10/5): Wonderful place to stay... - This hotel is like a motel situation, but the people that run it are wonderful and very accommodating! The room was clean and spacious, and the the bathroom too! It is called Eagle Bay because there are really lots of bald eagles there.Incredible!
- Tilman (10/5): - Very friendly and helpful staff.
- Lauren (10/5): - Very quiet and clean. Very friendly and personable staff
- Reynold (8/5): - Owner is very helpful in getting me around
- Steven (8/5): - Rooms were well appointed and recently updated. Very friendly and helpful staff. The shuttle service was very helpful.
- JAMES (10/5): - Great place for eagle viewing. Close to raptor centrr. Nice walk through the park to town 20 minutes or so. Good selection of light breakfast snacks all day.
- MOLLY (10/5): - Friendly and helpful staff.
- John (10/5): - Our lovey hostess, Vicki, and her staff were absolutely wonderful. She picked us up at the visitor center, took us anywhere we needed to go, and was kind and friendly. The Eagle Bay Inn is not fancy, nor in a beautiful part of town, but Sitka is a must -see, and VickI was a terrific ambassador.
- Frank (10/5): - Booked this place to catch the ship we missed in Seattle. Great service for a last minute booking. They picked us up at the airport midnight. We had a continental breakfast there in the morning. And they drove us to our ship.
- Mackenzie (10/5): Great value with personalized service - The staff were amazing. This quaint inn is a great choice for anyone visiting Sitka. Would definitely stay again.
- Richard (10/5): - When you arrive you wonder where the room could be. Don't worry, they're there. Wonderful place...kind of a hidden gem in Sitka. I recommend it. I asked some strange stuff of the staff: "Can you take me to the airport at 4AM?" ...sure, no sweat... "Do you have some rags to wipe the mud off my rental car?" ...here you go... "Can I use the hose behind the building?" ...sure, no problem... And, on top of all that, they keep a fully stocked snack area complete with take away breakfast food.
- Margaret (10/5): - So appreciate the hospitality!
- Richard (8/5): - I liked the t.v. coffee, snacks and the courteous staff.
- Michael (10/5): - The rooms were great but would like a fan in the room
- Ralph (10/5): - A little out of town, but walking distance to raptor facility and national park. Staff at inn were. Call was a little bit of a hassle.
- Mary (10/5): - The property had recently been refurbished. The rooms were clean and provided good facilities re communication and use of electronic devices.
On tap tea, coffee and cold drinks in reception. Also bagels, muffins, porridge and fruit for breakfast.
A bit out of town but the property will provide airport transfer.
The Totem national park is across the road.
It is a 15 min walk into town.
The building is not very attractive
- Elsworth (10/5): - All the employers were friendly. Anything you needed just. Will stay there again.
- George (10/5): Small, accomodating hotel - The staff is wonderful. Ms Vikki has a wealth of knowledge regarding the areas and its history, and very accommodating in terms of getting you to destinations within Sitka.
- KENNETH (10/5): - The owner is what was special
- Becky S (10/5): awesome place!! - it was amazing! the staff was great and Miss Vickie was so friendly you felt like you were at home!! we will be staying if we come back to sitka!!
- Larry (10/5): - The staff at Eagle Bay Inn went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. They drove us anywhere we needed to go and couldn’t have been more accommodating. Miss Vickie was so sweet and told us a lot about the history of Sitka. Highly recommend staying here. .
- Robert (10/5): Eagle Bay Inn - Great stay, Vicky was terrific
- Michelle (10/5): Clean and comfy - The hotel is convenient to everything but also not in the middle of everything. Which we liked. It was very quiet. Beds were very comfortable. Everything was extremely clean. I would reccomend splurging on the ocean view rooms. Owners/managers were very kind and quick to respond. My only advice to travelers: if you have heavy luggage, be aware there is no elevator. But, overall it was lovely and I would stay again.
- Astrophel (2/5): - I was alone in the hotel, no staff no other people
- Verified traveler (10/5): Very nice, would stay again - Hotel itself was lovely and clean. Happy with room and accommodations. Website phone number hd not been changed and no one mans the phone after 2pm. So ended up taking a taxi to hotel. Got shuttle back to airport the next day.
- Colleen (10/5): - the best thing about this inn is the staff! they watched the flights and when mine came in 1/2 hr early lela (i hope this is right) was there. i, and 2 couples had an issue catching a cruise and the staff rallied around us to help work it out and allowed the use of their resources. very good experience! 10/10
- jason (10/5): - The staff there are awesome, loved the stay, they picked up and dropped off from airport and showed me around town.
- Kristine (10/5): - Cozy and likeable Inn. Well kept in an older style building. Inn had a nice charm in a small town. I would highly recommend and return to Eagle Bay Inn.
- Kathryn (6/5): - Location is near a small bay, which is nice. There are a lot of cannibus shops in this strip mall, the hotel occupies the top level. The rooms are comfortable if a little sparse. Lighting in the rooms is minimal, except for the glaring overhead light. Bathroom is very nice and clean. Food is offered for breakfast but its mostly donuts, packaged foods and other high carb sweets. I would stay there again but its overpriced. Also, no elevator.
- Gian (10/5): - Very nice and clean
- Barry (10/5): - Perfect, best stay in weeks. Property a real surprise in a most positive way. loved it, will always stay here in sitka.
- Lurdes (10/5): - The food availability was good, tea and coffee.
- Aryn (10/5): - A great view by the hotel and some good restaurants near there. The rooms are nice with a good tv and a mini fridge.
- Daesong (10/5): - I appreciate the ride to and from the airport.
The staff are very friendly.
I like the coffee and donuts.
- John (10/5): Welcoming and well run - The manager of the hotel is a very kind and makes you feel welcome in Sitka. The hotel is kept well and everything seemed clean and in order. Hope to stay there again.
- Sergei (6/5): Hotel OK. Cleaning service terrible. - The inn is OK except one major problem: my room was cleaned only a couple of times during my 9 day stay!
- michael (10/5): Will stay again - Excellent personal service
- Michael (10/5): Great place to stay in Sitka - The family running Eagle Bay Inn was informative and helpful. It was walkable into Sitka, but also on a convenient bus line. Very easy walking distance to the Sitka Historical Park. We enjoyed our stay immensely and would highly recommend Eagle Bay Inn to adventure travelers. Thanks for a great visit to Sitka!
- David (8/5): - Compared to similar options in Sitka, Eagle Bay Inn is a great value. Simple, Quiet, Clean and a nice selection of basic breakfast/snack foods available 24/7. Transportation options in Sitka (generally) are mediocre at best. From this location you can walk to downtown Sitka in 20-25 minutes. There are a few restaurant/food options close to the property.
- Jeffrey (10/5): - We were a bit hesitant about staying at eagle bay inn when we saw the entrance BUT we couldn’t have been more surprised and pleased. Don’t let the entrance deter your stay. This place is homey, clean, and the staff is top notch!! They offer an airport shuttle service which we really appreciated. You will enjoy your stay. Also there is a Mexican/ pizza restaurant a few doors down that serves great food. Thanks for a comfortable stay.
- Lynne (10/5): - By far one of the quaintess places we have ever stayed. Vickie the energetic manager and her staff were phenomenal. They did every little thing to continue to surprise us with their congeniality. Every room had a different Alaskan theme. The bathroom linens even coordinated withe the unique bed linens... best bath mat i have ever stepped onto in hotel/motel. Breakfast offerings while not prepared were plentiful.
- Lynne (10/5): - Already emtered
- Victor (8/5): - My stay at Eagles inn was bref but plesent. Rooms where clean and spacious. Beds where comfortable. Got a little hot while i was there.. would have opened the window but there was a loud delivery truck near my window. No wifi. Over all, my stay was good. Near a good restaurant, pizza express.
- Kevin (8/5): - Not a great location
- Diana (10/5): - We liked the shuttle and the breakfast bar was a nice surprise, with bagels, cream cheese and even orange juice!
- Jeanette (8/5): - Thank you for having a shuttle.
- Claudia (10/5): - Inn keeper and staff were excellent. A bit far away from downtown. No views worth mentioning
- Michelle (10/5): - The staff is extremely hospitable and works diligently to make sure you are comfortable and enjoy your time in Sirka.
- Michael (10/5): Innkeeper's pride shows! - We stayed at the Eagle Bay Hotel after a late arrival on the last flight into Sitka. The hotel staff waited up for us and provided a smooth check in process. We had the suite room, ideal for our family of five. The next morning, we meet the Innkeeper at breakfast - she was engaging and knowledgeable about the area, and the pride that she took in running the hotel was apparent
- Christopher (10/5): - The entire staff at Eagle Bay Inn was amazing! We were given upgrades, picked up and carried to places we needed. The hospitality was over the top! We will be back.
- Vera (10/5): First adventure stop - Breakfast was very convenient. Hotel shuttle to town was very helpul as we did not have a car. Staff helped me get distilled water for cpap and were helpful with suggestions.
- Wanda (8/5): - Staff was super accommodating! From picking us up early from the airport to letting us check in early and taking us to a fishing harbor with no advance notice. The only downfall was the Olympics happened to be on and there was no local stations to watch the events, only streaming. Overall great place though!
- USHA (8/5): - Staff were all extremely helpful and gracious, breakfast food and sitting area were great. The only issue that we had (as well as at least two other parties) was getting into the property to check in with no WiFi or cell service. You need to call a number to get into the building and aren’t able to without a working phone connection. In anticipation of a potential issue checking in, I called multiple times during the day prior to check in, however the number listed on the website and with the reservation is not regularly monitored, so no one answered. Other than this issue, the stay was very pleasant, the room clean, and we enjoyed ourselves immensely.
- Rebecca (10/5): - I cannot recommend this hotel enough. The people are professional and incredibly helpful. They go above and beyond any expectation I had!
- Paul (10/5): - I would like to live there I am a hobo
- Lucille (10/5): - Enjoyed the hospitality and welcome of the staff. Comfortable stay. Perfect for our needs. Thanks.
- Vicki (8/5): - It was a very clean and comfortable room. The linens were washed with a very strong ‘fresh’ detergent and/or softener-it was so strong I couldn’t sleep. I would request no scent on the linens and towels.
- Claude (10/5): A Cordial Room with a View - The room was quite spacious. The staff and the owner were absolutely delightful. They made our stay an experience in itself. Did I mention the view? Well, it was to die for.
- Susanne (10/5): - Clean, quiet and offers shuttle service to the airport at any hour.
- Elizabeth (10/5): - The staff is great and very very helpful and friendly. Great property in a picture perfect town in Alaska
