Guest Reviews
- Maria (10/5): - Loved everything about this property!
- rahul (6/5): - If you are vacationing here, expect to climb up 2 sets of stairs
- Eden (4/5): - Bed was extremely uncomfortable, and they never cleaned our room or gave us new towels in the 4 nights we stayed. They fail to tell you that this apartment is not in the main area, but across and up a very busy road with no sidewalks or cross walks. Our room was tiny and on the 7th floor in a walk up. The AC rattled all day and night.
- Vitus (4/5): - The bedding and the surfaces in the room didn’t feel clean. The bathroom had a terrible smell emanating from it all the time and the tiny shower cubicle wouldn’t drain water well. There was no shelf in the shower to keep any toiletries. We couldn’t wait to leave! Wouldn’t recommend to a friend!
- Michelle (10/5): - Staff were so helpful and accommodating. Rooms were nice and clean. Only wish we could’ve stayed longer!
- Carlos (4/5): Great balcony is the only recommendation - Description on the hotel is not clear, you have to check in in other location different where you are staying, you need to cross the entire town, 3 streets, small town, old rooms, overprice, the amazon balcony is the only to recommend on this property.
- Vivian (6/5): - Overall an average experience and stay at Torre Paradiso. The room we received was not as expected but sufficed for a stay in the Amalfi coast. There was no window, but there was a skylight, the WiFi usually didn't work, and the shower was quite small.
However, the hotel concierge (separate building which is 5 min away) was very easy to communicate with and helpful.
- Brad (6/5): - Lost a star due to property being dated, and bathroom could have been cleaner. Property had its own kitchen and cool sun roof with adjustable blinds which. Staff was friendly and spoke English at the hotel property where we checked in. Would recommended to a friend
- Daniel (8/5): Take the ferry! - Our stay was very good, we loved it!! Villa Romana tried to sell us a taxi ride from Salerno to Minori for 120 €. We took the ferry for 9 € / pers and it took about the same time (1hour). From the dock in Minori, it was a 5 minutes walk.
- mary pat (2/5): Don't stay here - We rented a two bedroom apt and were given a one bedroom and charged for a two bedroom. The terrace had none of the furniture pictured no umbrella no lounge chairs. The coffee pot had mold in it. The front desk was rude. They were rude in person and also have refused to even respond to my emails upon my return. Boiler pot had no plug in the entire unit it fit. No kitchen trash can one tiny one gallon trash can in bathroom is all.
- Alex (6/5): - Nothing unique about this property, they are not disclosing that the apartment is on a fourth floor with tide stairs with no elevator, I’m not calling for the elevator, just disclose, some people may have hard time after a full day of tours around the area. Also the mattress is very uncomfortable, you can feel the springs on your back. At the end no one ask if everything was ok or how can they be better.
- Maree (8/5): - Good location and Unit was alright but not much room with 4 people. Parking expensive and was only available through the Hotel.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - There’s no lift and no room cleaning service. Need to go to villa romana, a block away, if you need more towels or toilet paper.
- Andrew (8/5): - Great for the location and price. No external window only a skylight.
- Martin (8/5): - Nice little place. Kitchen can come in handy if you stay there a few nights.
- Thomas R. (6/5): A bit overpriced for a nice but inconvenient room - Checked in at main motel then sent up a hill. Desk person said 150 meters but was m7ch further and up 80 steps to top room in building. It had a window that opens out but nothing visible unless you stood on bed. A bit cramped and kept bumping our heads on slanted side walls. Bathroom wasvfunctuonal but no ventilation have it plenty of mold. Would have been better as a cheaper room or upgraded. Bed was two hard singles pushed together very uncomfortable. Not romantic.
- Sebastian (10/5): - Very nice staff, great view. Clean rooms. Nice other guests.
Thanks to Pina and her family.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - great hotel and location. kinda tricky to find at first but the staff were super nice and helpful
- Verified traveler (6/5): No value for money, very complicated - There is no reception at the hotel. You can't know where to go upon reaching. Reception is at the other hotel, which is about 3 blocks from the hotel. No parking as well. The hotel has valet and they charge 20 euros per day. When you need the car, you need to inform them at least an hour in advance. Shower was broken. No soap or shampoo in the shower. Room and bathroom height was too low in some parts. 4th floor room without an elevator and the stairs were too narrow. Air conditioner did not work well.
The room was clean and well-maintained, though in a very old building. The communication from the staff could be much better.
- Jiate (2/5): worst experience in Italy - Amazing this hotel claims they have 24 hours reception service... We arrived at hotel at lunch time and rang the bell for like half an hour. Nobody answered. After a long while a neighbor came to tell us we have to check in at another hotel. It was not fun to park outside that dangerous half-hill road and make trouble for the other passing cars. Amazing this was not communicated on the hotel's information. We had to drive all the way back and find the other hotel. This is not sth you would expect, really. What if the guest comes with a taxi? To call another taxi to go to the other hotel? Amazing!
The hotel does not have a lift and they have 5 floors.
- SophieWag92 (6/5): Not suitable for a long stay - There was party of 4 of us so we had an apartment with a kitchenette and a hotel-style room. Both rooms were spacious enough and we were lucky to get a sea view. Free safety deposit boxes in both rooms and free air conditioning was great. The location of Torre Paradiso is great as it's just few minutes walk into town and around a ten minute walk to the beach. However, neither rooms had a balcony, therefore we had nowhere to dry out beach towels or washing so had buy some string from a hardware store and make a washing line. By day 3/4 we realised that we hadn't had any fresh towels so we went to the sister hotel (Villa Romana) to ask about maid service. We were told that there was no maid service at Torre Paradiso and that any laundry service would be at an extra charge. This is outrageous and disgusting considering we were staying for 11 days, were already paying 20 euros a day to use the hotel's car park and that nowhere on their website did it state that there was no maid service. On expressing our disappointment we were given fresh towels. A few days later we noticed that the rooms were starting to get dirty. We did have a pan but no brush! So we voiced our concern to the Villa Romana reception and asked if we could have our rooms cleaned and some clean bedding. We were initially told that this would not be possible as we were staying at the apartments and not in the hotel. The reception staff managed to contact the manager who was then able to sort out our rooms to be cleaned.
So over the 11 days that we were there we had our towels changed twice and bedding changed once with the rooms cleaned once also. Had we have only stayed for a couple of nights no cleaning service would have been fine but for nearly 2 weeks this is disgusting and unacceptable. The hotel need to clearly state that there is no maid service at Torre Paradiso so that others aren't disappointed.
- 366verac (6/5): ok..not great - I stayed at Torre Paradiso for 5 nights during July 2015 with my husband. The place is low cost option of hotel Villa Romana. The chek in is made at the reception of Villa Romana, and we walked for 5 minutes to our room. The building is a house, with 2 floosr and a mansard...our room was at mansard. The room was small, we didn't have a balcony and it was impossible to dry our clothes. The window was in the roof and we had no view. The room was really hot, the AC was water bassed not freon bassed and it wasn't powerfull enough for the last floor so we sweat alot. We had a small but functional kitchen.
In our price we didn't have any meals, but we had the possibility to pay for meals at Villa Romana..We chose to eat breakfast at Villa Romana, it cost 5 euros and it was great. A great variaty of pasteries, eggs, ham, cheese, salami, vegetables and so on..Consider the fact that in Italy a cornetto and coffe is consider breakfast, this was more that enough. We had to possibility to use the pool also, but we bath in the seea.
- MurrayD181 (10/5): Amalfi coast. - Views from the balcony were excellent as are most from along this coast.
Great beach and a marina in Minori
. Long straight street along the water with lots of room for walking. Food is OK if you like Seafood. I wasn't so fond of the ham and cheese all the time. The lasagne was not so great but it was not bad I'm just fussy. In Capri I like the lasagne. It was more meat sauce than white cream.
- barbaradC6635WE (8/5): Memories in Minori - We really enjoyed our stay here. Roberta at the front desk was extremely helpful. We emailed her before our arrival and she arranged for our transportation from the airport. She booked some private tours for our group and even arranged for a translator who was fantastic! Roberta could not have been more helpful!!! We rented a studio apartment for the week. It was small but adequate. Everything was spotless. The shower was very tiny but that seems to be the case all over Italy. Our apartment was on the fourth floor of a walk-up so although we were a little intimidated at first, the exercise helped wear off all of that wonderful Italian food. Be warned though . . . these steps are not for the feint of heart.
- Giffoni (8/5): Nice studio, great service - We stayed in Minori, at the Torre Paradiso for a week. The small kitchen was efficient, so we had breakfast in our rooms sometimes but not really great to cook a meal.
We checked in at the Hotel Villa Romana and found the wonderful Roberta, who organised several tours for us and also made sure all of our problems were solved. The apartments are about two blocks away but they organise a transfer to take your baggage across. Two bonuses: you can use the pool at the Hotel Villa Romana and also have breakfast for a very nominal amount. The rooms (we had three) were all clean and had a some cutlery and dishware. We only had one glass and one cup but Roberta had more sent over right away.
There are several fruit shops, bakeries and small mini markets with great food, so good fresh food is easily available.
The shower is small but manageable. There is a safe. It was very quiet and the bed was comfortable.
