Lovely old world flavor in the room appointment brings you back to another era. Still the rooms had all the modern amenities and very clean. If want history, convenience and comfort, I would highly recommend this hotel! Thank you Hotel de la Poste for a wonderful stay during 2026 Olympics!

E4085XSamandaw (10/5): Old fashioned charm - I stayed here during the Paralympics. This historic hotel is really charming with its olde-worlde furnishings, woodwork and attentive staff. Do not expect a modern hotel, except for the lift. It is in a great location right by the terminus for the coach to Venice, on the Corso Italia. My single room on the 4th floor was bright and spacious with the most magnificent view over the mountains. There was ample storage, a safe, a fridge (containing water to buy), slippers and an umbrella. On the bed there were two duvets, one of which I had to remove as the room was very warm, luckily the window opened. There were no curtains so you could always take full advantage of the view. The bathroom contained a bath with shower and no curtain. The English TV channels didn’t work as there was no internet signal available. There was also no kettle and only one power point I could use which was in the bathroom. I wasn’t aware of the bar being noisy. There was an ample choice of food at the buffet breakfast (I noticed some gf offerings). The breakfast room also has views. To get the wifi its best to get the code from reception. One morning I was woken by buses arriving outside. The bar serves snacks at lunchtime and I enjoyed sitting on the front terrace in the sun. I would recommend booking half board as this includes three dishes from the main menu. It is possible to leave your luggage.

charlottavm (8/5): Oldfashioned in the best way - This is a very genuine and traditional alp hotel within the higher range. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the rooms comfortable and in an older style in terms of wooden details and patterned fabrics. Very centrally located in the mid of Cortina with waling distance to most things you could possibly need during your ski trip.

ruthanner_13 (2/5): Stay far away if you care about sleep - If you want to be at a hotel that is on top of a night club and has Euro techno music blasting at the highest volume until midnight, then this is your place. If you want to sleep steer clear. I don’t see how they expect people who pay for rooms to tolerate this. Staff is wonderful and location great. Bathroom is ancient and rooms are small. All that would be forgivable if the baseline of a good night sleep was something the wanted to provide. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone.

Its central location makes everything easy, and the staff is both welcoming and impressively knowledgeable. Guests of all ages feel at home here, especially on the porch, the best seat in town for enjoying the afternoon sun.
mcacciola (4/5): Don’t eat there. - We went for the Christmas dinner which was offered as a setup menu. The food was below average and the service experience was literally very bad. It all started with a disorganized food delivery where all waiters were running like chickens, to deliver the plates to all tables at the same time and the food arrived merely warm. The price did not match with the overall quality either but the worst was a shocking situation when I requested to one of the waiters to take out of our table the seafood plate we just finished since the shells leftovers were very messy and smelly - when looking me at the eyes he responded with a big - NO ! And he walked away. The man was not very tall wearing glasses. Very rude and unacceptable. Will never go back.

Thanks to my partner, who has been coming here since the '80s, I discovered it and fell in love with its traditional interior style. From the kind support of Lorenzo, the Concierge of Cortina, to the Maitre, the gentle understanding of all the room-service ladies, and the reservation team who always do their best to accommodate us so we can enjoy our stay exactly as we love it — everything feels personal and special.

Edgar Jose (9/5): Great Room in a Central Location - As central as a location that you will find in Cortina. The central location hints to its glorious past which can be gleaned from the relatively fancy dining room where breakfast is served. My room, while dated, was comfortable and clean. The staff were extremely warm and accommodating, preparing a generous boxed breakfast for me as I had an early morning bus to catch. The hallways were a bit dark, and I could hear the TV in the following room. The hotel looks to get travel groups from Insight, which might see a traffic jam in the lobby, but it's a minor inconvenience. The breakfast selection skewed more for sweets than savory options, and I would have liked more protein choices.

The staff was very kind and warm. They were very attentive and made us feel like it wasn't the first time we were visiting the hotel. The old-fashioned decoration of the hotel is what makes it so charming.
142patricial (10/5): Comfort and excellence - Convenient location right in the middle of dining and shopping made our stay in Cortina d’ Ampezzo a delightful experience. Our room had ample storage for a much longer stay, the bar is charming and the morning breakfast was just what we needed to start the day. We will stay again if we ever return to northern Italy.

Jean (8/5): - It was a good hotel but in need of an update. Some might find the double doors and the old fashioned room key charming, but it was a pain to lock and unlock the door. I also couldn’t shower without getting water everywhere ( typical European bathroom with a hand held hose and no shower curtain). It was extremely clean and the staff were amazing. The location was perfect - right on the Corso d’Italia. It did get a bit noisy at night due to the bar across the street. But it wasn’t too bad. Overall I enjoyed my stay there.

(Many old photos of winter scenes in the 20’s/30’s) The people working there have the feel of long term employees with an understanding of true hospitality. I would stay here again -right on the main piazza, you escape the constant road noise staying outside the main square. Good breakfast in the sud Tyrol mode.

Charlotte (3/5): Tout irait mieux sans le responsable actuel - Les concierges / maîtres d’hôtel sont très professionnels (clés d’or). L’histoire du bâtiment, même s’il ne reste pas grand-chose de l’origine. Salle à manger sublime. Le responsable de l’établissement est non seulement désagréable mais incompétent. Il fait régner une ambiance délétère dans un lieu qui ne mérite pas cela. À plusieurs reprise, il a commis des erreurs grossières sans jamais s’excuser : - une première chambre ne correspondant pas du tout à la réservation effectuée - Après d’âpres discussions, il finit par nous proposer une chambre déjà occupée !!! - Puis une seconde dont il ne parvient pas à ouvrir la porte, puis à trouver l’électricité - Sa promesse non tenue de nous la garder pour le lendemain, prétextant la venue de personnes apparemment plus appréciées que nous auraient réservé pour 15 jours ! Bref, il semblerait que les clients booking ne soient pas bienvenu par ce messieurs. Beaucoup d’arrogance. Jamais une excuse. Heureusement que le personnel tempère cette désagréable impression: deux clés d’or aux petits soins qui permettent de retrouver le charme d’antan qui continue d’enchanter ce lieu malgré par la vulgarité de cet individu malheureux désigné pour y faire la loi, sans aucune classe. Quel gâchis !
Joanna (8/5): - If you are driving, the parking is very confusing. I arrived at the hotel right before 6, but it took me about an hour to figure out the parking. There is an unmarked gate that you are supposed to pull up to, then call the hotel and they will open and meet you out there, then you pull into the square where people are walking all over and you drop off your bags. If you miss this gate, you are stuck in a loop (and with there being traffic, each loop took me 20 minutes). I didn’t know about this the first time, then the second time another hotel was parked at the gate, so I missed it again. The third time I found the gate and did it, and then after dropping my bags and checking in, I had to do the loop again to park in their free parking lot. It was A LOT to figure out on the fly. I didn’t see any mention of this parking situation with any of the information they sent me, so it was a bit annoying. Once I figured it out, everything else about the hotel was great!

Road/outside noise is horrible. Restaurant staff in the morning is inattentive. But, it is very clean and centrally located.

Juho (8/5): Excellent service at the center of Cortina - Centrally located in the center of Cortina. Hotel is rustic in a good way, and all in all gives feelings of “good old days”. Service was across the board unusually good, caring, professional and friendly. If I had the guess, people have been working here for decades and kept good care of. While hotel hasn’t gone through a major renovation recently, it has been well maintained and somehow the old fashioned decoration adds to the “good old days” atmosphere. Also breakfast was on the better side of what’s typically available in Italian hotels in this category. All in all a delightful experience.

J (9/5): Truly lovely traditional hotel in the centre of Cortina. Very helpful and attentive staff. - Staff were very welcoming, helpful and generally attentive. Food was excellent both breakfast (fantastic selection) and supper. The evening we arrived staff were very welcoming even though we were quite late to the restaurant as we arrived at the hotel later than expected and the meal was outstanding. Although our room faced the road we did have the most fantastic view of the mountains. Would have really liked tea making facilities in the room. The bathroom was a bit strange as the shower leaked everywhere as there was no strip on the bottom of the shower door to prevent water hitting the floor. However the house keeping staff were very helpful and understood why we had to use all the towels to mop up.

The music in the second was not adjusted to the clientele and the hotel’s style. We booked a junior suite. According to description there should have been a minibar and a jacuzzi. WiFi in room (all of the hotel) was non-existing. We also perceive AC as something you take for granted in a 4-star hotel.

lindastern447 (8/5): Great hotel but way too hot - This hotel has more character than it knows what to do with. It has a wonderful atmosphere and is in a beautiful location. Rooms were clean and well appointed. Breakfast was good and they had plenty of American coffee! Our only complaint was how hot it was. We were there during a heat wave, and there is no air conditioning. I could understand that - but they didn't even have fans to offer their guests. The front desk told me they had been asking the owners to provide them but were refused. It makes no sense to have such a lovely place be so uncomfortable when it could be easily remedied. This is the reason for the 4 star instead of 5 star review.

No tea and coffee provided and not nearly enough power points. The bathroom was clean and spacious, but definitely needed a new shower and toilet! Noise from the bar downstairs made sleeping difficult. Staff were pleasant and efficient. Breakfast was good, but no espresso available. Wifi worked well.

JennyhTrafalgar (8/5): A lovely hotel in the centre of Cortina - Our room had a new bathroom with a great shower. Sheets were changed after 1 night, which I didn’t expect to happen. Lorenzo at reception was outstanding!! Breakfast was extensive.
SunnyPro (10/5): Mountain hotel experience - What a great place to stay in the Dolomites! The hotel is quaint and has the feel of a true alpine stay. It has maintained its rustic atmosphere while still offering modern amenities.

debbieR8097LD (8/5): Lovely - The hotel is charming and our view was of the open market area and mountains. The charm authentic, so the rooms are as well. I will say the beds were not comfortable. The cleaning service was excellent though. They came in twice in one day.
Ariel (4/5): - Room service went into my room and started making bed and cleaning while I was having breakfast (a 7am). All my luggage was still in the room so it was evident I was still using the room.
Ariel (4/5): - Many aspects still leave a "meh" feeling after staying at this hotel: wifi was very slow, facilities are I think the very historic ones (so I slept in a bed 50 years old?) including furniture. Shower: good, but not having a glass in the bathtub makes a mess when showering. I had to ask for shampoo (not available at my room) and later I understood they should have also left bath salts, which were not left after I flagged I had no shampoo. Breakfast: after a big big group came at 7am and ate everything, we waited until 7:50 but food was not replenished. There was a big group of (evidently beyond tipsy) noisy travelers playing music over a big Bluetooth speaker at the lobby, and they were allowed to keep their behavior. Food options in the neighborhood: too many pricey food options and not really looking tasty. I had to explain twice I was offered a bottle of wine for free via Expedia, which only ended up being accepted after I showed the confirmation on my app. Price was not up to par to: services offered, breakfast quality (and availability).

natandleo (10/5): Grand old lady - It was a beautiful old Hotel the rooms were very clean and comfortable had everything we needed and it was in the centre of town The staff were really friendly especially the front desk manager so nice I think his name was Angelo and Cortina is so beautiful We love every minute of it

Bradley (10/5): - Staff at front desk exceptional, old school gentlemen and make sure you get car service and any directions. Hotel is the center of the town and people come to gather there which makes it a great location. Bus takes you straight from hotel to mountain.
carlacY832QA (2/5): Stay away! Other hotels are way better for less. - So many things wrong. Let’s start by it’s a loud bar at night on the weekends. We arrived at 8pm and the noise was unbearable for us. Once we got into the room, we could not only hear all of the noise, but we could hear the room next doors TV and could hear their conversation. The room itself was easily the worst hotel hotel room I’ve ever walked into (316). It was ridiculously small, the bed seemed like it was foam, the furniture looked like children’s IKEA from 1985. We left and moved to the Alaska Hotel a few feet away were I am writing this from to save others from having their trips ruined. We stayed at wonderful hotels in Italy and this one was by far the most expensive.
Nathalie (9/5): Authentic Italian Hotel in the heart of Cortina. Amazing staff! - Central location, nice bar, Amazing concierge - good breakfast. Rooms are dated from a decor point of view but don’t let that put you off. Bed very comfortable, as typical in Italy no showers but the bathtub was large and warm and filled quickly. Rooms were quiet.
cbernaut (6/5): Acceptable, but not 4 stars - The location is great, in the center of town in front of the ski bus, Piazza Roma. The rooms are clean but small. Caveat emptor: If you like a hot tub apres ski, if you are not content with the jacuzzi tub in the room, you must pay 80 Euros for a spa supplement at a hotel down the road. That's not a 4 star experience in my book, especially at the rates charged.

GemG77 (6/5): Fabulous service but the room was dated and tired. - The central areas of this hotel are fabulous with a modern, lively bar and dining room / breakfast room with impress views! Lots of historical pictures on the wall. The staff are professional, friendly and courteous. Had a great meal in the restaurant and the service was next level. The location is fantastic. I appreciate the age of the property but my only criticism is the bedroom (116) and bathroom were extremely dated and rough around the edges (peeling paint, tired old shower, no power points). Otherwise a pleasant stay.

Andreea (10/5): Amazing old-school, charming hotel, right in the heart of Cortina - The location is great, straight in the center of Cortina, beautifully lighted in the evening, with easy access and amazing views of the mountains. If you wake up early enough you can see the sunrise over the peaks in gorgeous colors (from the room). A true vintage hotel with modern facilities. Overall though very old-school, inside wood and mountain style prevailing. Double door to opening the room, using an old-fashioned metallic key (loved it!). The room was spacious enough, very warm, clean and finely furnished, charming beyond and with a lot of character, just like the building itself (early 19th-century building). The bed was very comfortable, so very happy with it. Most of the furniture was old-school, but added to the charm. Staff was very welcoming. Breakfast room amazing, with chandeliers, tall ceilings and a large tapestry on the back wall; plus a great selection of food. The water taps in the bathroom were slightly dripping, but this was only a minor inconvenience. Check-out and invoice areas opposite one another, very bureaucratic and slow (but nothing unusual).

Jordan (5/5): It did the job - Great location and breakfast. The rooms are tiny and the wall are paper thin so it didn't feel very private. The bed was literally 2 single beds pushed together and very uncomfortable and they didn't have spare pillows or anything. It was all just a bit average
Joseph (10/5): I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, the room, the staff, the food was all molto bene. - The property is as centrally located as you can get, right on the pedestrian only, Via Roma. If you like shopping you’re in the middle of world class shopping. The staff is amazing. I had an issue with my initial room and they switched me to a new room right away. At the time of my visit there was an issue with the wifi, weak signal. It’s a very old, very well maintained building, but very solid walls.

Thank you! - Breakfast and location: excellent Bed covers: We found the blanket covered with an inside and an outside sheet difficult to navigate. A light duvet would have been better. This is the only criticism we had.
Gerald (10/5): - Hotel de la Post in Cortina was a wonderful place to stay. It was physically charming, but was so special were the staff. From the head concierge to the house cleaning staff everyone was so friendly and helpful. We hope to return and will highly recommend it to friends who want to travel to the Dolomites!

Daniel (8/5): - Beautiful hotel, awesome location, outstanding breakfast. The distinguished gentleman at the reception desk was welcoming and somehow remembered my name. He was the best concierge I've ever met in decades of travel. Just a heads-up that it's not possible to get into a Cortina restaurant without a reservation, even at the hotel.
