- 176waynea (10/5): True experience of Tuscany. - Argriturismo Paradiso is truly the most authentic experience of rural Tuscany. Fabio and Maria are the most welcoming of hosts and provide excellent service. The rooms are beautifully presented and are truly an extension of their beautiful home. The food is excellent at both breakfast and evening meals with a great choice. There is a very generous pool to cool down in, sun loungers and table tennis. The location gives very easy access to Asciano and connects well to drive to Siena. The views from the house are truly stunning. Highly recommended!
- davidaM9590TY (10/5): Truly excellent - What a lovely place to stay! A real sense of welcome; Fabio is always welcoming and helpful, and there is a feeling of being genuinely cared for. We had six nights here in late September - outside the main season but still warm enough to swim in the pool and - apart from one very wet night - to have dinner on the terrace with views of the countryside and the glorious sunsets. We were in the 'Blu' apartment (two bedrooms), which is upstairs and has a small balcony - big enough for two to have breakfast on. If you're looking for a modern hotel-style standard room this isn't it - but if you want somewhere comfortable, homely and spotlessly clean, with a definite charm, then it's lovely. Just one note for the English: there's no electric kettle - but you can boil water for tea on the stove. Dinner was available every night, and we took full advantage of it. The food is excellent, home-cooked and Tuscan - and very reasonably priced; the menu changes gradually day to day. The house wine complements the food well; if you can't finish a bottle one night it's there for you again the next; and if you order by the glass, the glasses are large! And for dessert, don't miss the Tiramisu, or the Cantucci e Vin Santo! Asciano is worth wandering through - there's a car park on the road in and a tourist info point and museum just up from the ancient gate near that carpark. The museum is worth a visit - it's spread over several floors. The tourist office can give you a map of Asciano with points of interest marked. We also visited Montalcino, Montepulciano, and the Abbazia di Monte Oliveto Maggiore, all within very easy travelling distance. We'd already been to Siena, but if you haven't been there, it's also easy to get to. We're hoping to be back again another year!
- P1203PUstevec (10/5): Still our favorite Tuscan “home away from home” - Peaceful, beautiful, and run by the finest couple you will ever meet, Fabio and Maria Teresa Rughi, Agriturismo il Paradiso is the perfect base camp for our explorations of Tuscany. Located in Asciano at the center of the triangle formed by Siena, Montalcino, & Montepulciano, it is clean, comfortable, and relaxing with an excellent pool and nice nearby hikes through the Tuscan countryside. Plus, there is an inexpensive train from Asciano to Siena, which is a great way to experience that wonderful city without dealing with parking hassles. The breakfasts & dinners at Paradiso are amazing as Maria Teresa is a superb chef. She & Fabio (a true gentleman) are warm, friendly, & bend over backwards to make us feel at home during our stay. On this trip, my brother and I picked up a virus and Maria Teresa and Fabio took great care of us while we recovered. It is this level of kindness, along with all the other excellent features of Paradiso, that keeps us coming back every year to our Tuscan "paradise."
- zheddsc (10/5): Sweet - We booked this room for 2 nights to be near Siena for a 1-day trip. We got the pink (literally) room and it was spacious. However, thin walls between the bathrooms to the next room. The location is pretty good and the house invites to relax. We also took a dinner on the first night since it was late and of which we didn't know what to expect, but the appetizer, first plate, second plate and dessert with a wine was very good. The breakfast was full and had many sweets.

- xxx022 (8/5): Nice place - The place is really nice with beautiful swimming pool. The thing that we do not like is that our room has a big window but you can't open it. Same problem with the window in the bathroom, I suggest to place at least a vent. The breakfast deserves the price. We do not appreciate the dinner, too expensive for an "agriturismo", especially because you have no choice.

- PickyBudgetTraveler (2/5): Disappointing - We really wanted to love this place, based on the reviews and the good experiences we had staying in similar places in other parts of Tuscany. However, our stay at Agriturismo Paradiso was a big let down. We had no view and no windows in the room we stayed in near the pool. The refrigerator did not work, you had to flush the toilet to get the shower to drain, the wifi didn't work, we had no view of anything, the proprietor did not offer local wine or olive oil, and when I inquired about having dinner at the agriturismo I was given a map of Asciano with the restaraunts highlighted! Very disappointing, the three nights we stayed here were our only bad experience during our two weeks in Tuscany.
- AnneBFlo (8/5): A quiet and lovely place to stay - We stayed with Fabio and his family for four nights. Fabio met us at the railwaystation and drove us back when we were leaving. We had the apartment "Blue". It was a bit dark, but clean and cool on the hot summer's days and nights. Paradiso has a lovely pool and serve traditionally and good (!) food if you order in advance. A short walking distance to the centre of Asciano (old part). About 1,5 km. They lend out bikes. Francesco, the nephew, spoke very good English and worked there for the summer. A very nice and friendly family at a lovely and quiet spot in Italy. We really reccomend this Paradise! If you're travelling by train, remember to get off at Asciano-Monte Oliveto Maggiore station. Siena is 20 minutes away by train.
- Luis D (8/5): Lovely memory with fireflies at night. - Beautiful location with great attention, this place is lovely to be enjoyed for a while. We stay only one night and we're left with desire to stay longer. For those loving the nature, the best part was at night after seeing the first firefly... following there was a great spectacle with hundreds of them flying in the dark, a great feeling you can live now just few times in special places. This place is for those loving the nature, if you are a city lover that scare about bugs and you would prefer a neat fumigated room impacting the place you should avoide since being respectful with the space has an impact with the bugs you will have, but that is a chance to conserve beautiful places that makes memories .

- WorldQualitySeeker (8/5): Great Hospitality! - Stayed at Agriturismo Paradiso for one night and really enjoyed out stay. Our hosts were very friendly and the hospitality was wonderful. My wife had a health related eating restriction which they were willing to work around and wasn't a problem. Dinner was fantastic, a real Italian home cooking experience, with a good atmosphere. We loved it and wished that it had been easier to find similar fare during our Italian travels. Breakfast was yet another feast for the eyes, as well as the stomach. Our room was comfortable with a great view over the picturesque valley. I highly recommend Agriturismo Paradiso, especially for those looking for an alternative to hotels.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Best sleep in a long time - Stayed there as we were going to the baths. The owner was very nice and gave us discounts for the baths and indicated some good restaurants. When we checked out late and still made us find breakfast at 12pm he was surprisingly nice (have to say that it wasn't high season).
- need2know101 (8/5): B&B with view to die for - We arrived at the B&B in miserable rain. The kindly proprietor showed us our garden room and offered to upgrade us with no charge to an upper lever suite with a patio which offered panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. After looking at both accommodations, we accepted his offer of upgrade. Oh what a wonder view of the lush green field and countryside as far as your eyes can see. Then we were entertained by the horses, roasters, cows, ducks, pigs, and we lost count what else. It was absolutely delightful. We opted to have dinner on the premises. We and an Austrian gentleman sat in the cosy cellar while a group of Italian sat upstairs next to the kitchen. The owner served us free wine and water. We had a big bowl of nice crisp salad enough to feed four although there were only the two of us at that table. Followed by meat and spaghetti as our 2nd course, with a good sized steak and mushroom for entree. His wife was the cook and a good cook she was. I was too full to have desert, but my husband had the creme brûlée which I tasted, the best ever. We had a restful night and delicious breakfast before we left our wonderful hosts for another Tuscany town. Would definitely recommend this B&B.
- MarkandTeresaC (10/5): Great hosts and relaxing overnight! - We arrived later than we had expected after a long day of touring and were greeted with a smile and even had a dinner in which we could still join. The rooms were large and comfortable with a large bathroom. The dinner and breakfast meals that we enjoyed were delicious and so was the local wines. Lovely views with a nice pool. The family that runs the place is absolutely lovely!
- crichterj (10/5): Very pleasant place - Enjoyed our stay very much. Aircondition, swimming pool, and the buildings are very nice. The buildings are on top of a hill, and parkering is further down the hillside. Note, that you have to carry luggage up the hill to the rooms. A very nice feature is the food. If you wish, you can enjoy the dinner of the day (primi (pasta), secondi (meat), dolce (eg icecream)). And it is excellent. At least two out of three were. Very friendly staff.
- 966TomH966 (10/5): Paradise at the Paradiso - Fabio and Teresa’s haven on a hill outside of Asciano is a wonderful destination for travelers to Tuscany who want to experience Italian farm living first hand. For an extended stay in the wine region, a few nights in an Agriturismo is a must! You should rent a car for this journey as the location is one that you will want to explore on your own, however, the train station is only three or four miles away and serves nearby Siena. If you are driving from Siena, take the last turn on the roundabout and you will see a small sign indicating the Agriturismo Paradiso. The road begins on asphalt, then turns into a gravel road. Follow that road until you see horse stables on your left, and the next driveway on the right will take you to your destination. Upon arrival, we were upgraded to a two bedroom, two bathroom suite with a full kitchen next to the pool. The pool was immaculately clean and warm! My wife was invited to help prepare dinner, a task she relished as a learning opportunity for understanding Italian cooking. She rolled the evening’s pasta and added spices, and the final product was exceptional! We dined on the homemade, typical three course Italian meal on the porch of the farm house. Fabio’s nephew Francisco is more than willing to help out with Italian to English translations and tips about the area, including the culture. The future lawyer has many interesting stories to tell! The location is terrific. We headed south to Montepulciano early the next morning to tour the top-of-the-hill Renaissance city, complete with a deep and damp cellar excursion and sampling of Nobile, the locally produced favorite wine. A short drive away was the classic Tuscany sightseeing hill town of Pienza, a perfect rest stop before continuing west to Montalcino, and a chance to taste test the world-renowned Brunello. The last day we headed north to Radda di Chianti to tour the vineyards that the name implies. The roads in Tuscany wind and roll around the beautiful countryside, and you will meet a car in many turns, so be alert. But a trip to Italy isn’t complete without a stop in Tuscany while traveling from Rome to Florence, Venice and beyond, and a stay at the Agriturismo is the perfect way to spend a few nights.

- renig (10/5): Serenity in the Tuscany countryside - Best place to relax and enjoy the serenity of the Toscana Nature. This agriturismo is located 3 km from the small town of Asciano and yet is in the country side. We were upgraded to an apartment and enjoyed our stay sipping wine on the beautiful large terrace overlooking the picturesque Senese landscapes. Our host really do their best for their guests to feel relaxed and enjoy typical local sweets. I will definitely recommend this place!
