- Stephanie (9/5): A beautiful stay. - Called me when room was available early Free room upgrade Calls to check in once you’re settled in Restaurant is delicious for breakfast & dinner! Directly across from the beach. Has a washer, dryer & clothesline. Full kitchen - salt & pepper, milk, tea/ coffee. Pool is heated & very lovely to swim in, especially when it’s cold. As with all hotels, WiFi network is unsecured so you can’t really use it.

Individual bungalows with living room/kitchen and bedroom. Has a great restaurant connected, for amazing breakfasts and dinner. Good wine selection. Parking at the bungalow. 30 minutes away from most of the renowned wineries and Margaret River Town No cleaning during your stay. really pricy

- Luxurytravellerjt (10/5): Beautiful resort with amazing restaurant! - We stayed here for 3 nights in a 1 bedroom ocean view villa (number 37) which was fantastic. It’s a very large space with a great outside balcony. The bedroom was comfortable and the bathroom very spacious. The living area was huge and lovely. We enjoyed the pool area and Lamont’s restaurant was amazing. We had breakfast there every morning and one evening meal and the food was fabulous. I didn’t get her name but the young lady who looked after us at breakfast was just lovely. I can see there have been some recent reviews which have not been so great but I can honestly say that our experience was excellent and we wouldn’t hesitate to return if we’re over from the UK again.

- LindaKayJ (6/5): Beware of noise from the pool - This was our second week long stay at Smiths Beach Resort. Obviously we returned because we were impressed with our first visit. Unfortunately this visit left us wondering if we might have to find somewhere else. The accomodation is lovely. Unfortunately we found the bed very firm this time, even with a second mattress topper. As there are quite a few ‘older’ guests, I’d hope they will address this issue. A minor point, but also a warning, don’t buy the pizzas in the little deli. They are inedible and should not be sold in this resort. The most irritating problem was noise from the pool. Even though it was mostly from one particularly annoying screeching child, his parents thought we were being precious when we told them we could hear him over two afternoons in our apartment bedroom with the door closed. The onus seems to be on guests to complain rather than have the area remotely monitored by the front office. And it’s not uncommon to have to dodge kids running around the pool and doing cannonballs..even though the rules proscribe both. Overall, not a very serene atmosphere even though guests are asked to keep noise to a minimum. Which brings me to our check out. Following a perfunctory review of our account and then an assumption that ‘we will see you again’, we were dismissed. No ‘how was your stay?’ No ‘thank you for staying with again’..rather odd and disappointing.

- Dom (8/5): It was a comfortable stay. - We were here for a wedding and therefore it was about being close to the venue. We did take walks along the rocks mainly (there's a great path leading you up the rocks from the resort) and beach is very close. It's beautiful. We had booked a garden 2 bed suite and we got an upgrade, but unfortunately we had to keep the blinds down because anyone dining in the restaurant could see in and for this we couldn't enjoy the ocean view. Lamont's had great dinner menu. The major thing I didn't like was that when we checked in we were told there would be no power between 9am and 1pm due to maintenance! They would have known about this in advance and a heads up would have been appreciated - so pretty slack on their behalf. And they didn't mention water supply would be cut off also. Luckily the wedding wasn't on that day. I also didn't like the fact that I found ants in the cutlery drawer. The bathroom window couldn't be closed as it was broken. And also it would have been nicer to have a proper coffee machine - who has nescafe and/or plunger coffee these days!

- D851SLlindam (10/5): Best Stay - We had a wonderful stay at Smiths Beach Resort. It has everything you need. It is comfortable and clean. The pool area is fabulous, we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The staff are friendly and polite and the security around the apartments and the pool area is exceptional. It is only a short walk to beaches which are beautiful. Lamont’s restaurant is very nice with a good range of food and wine on the menu, or just a short drive to restaurants, Dunsborough and lots of site seeing, etc. we will definitely go back to Smiths Beach Resort.
- Michelle (8/5): Proximity to beach can’t be beaten but I would choose elsewhere to stay with kids to be honest - Closeness to the beach, the restaurant and deli was great and the pool was fantastic also The cost and lack of service within the rooms. After 4 days I was mopping, wiping down etc not very relaxing especially as the cost is so high. Also the size of the bathroom was literally a broom cupboard. Pool aside nothing else for kids.

Highlight was the New Year Eve’s dinner at Lamott’s on the site. Highly recommended. The rooms were a bit too sterile to out taste. Limited furniture, no carpets on the floor and nothing on the wall except one painting with clinker floor made the rooms acoustically poor. Steep stairs between the floors, luckily there was a good handrail

Breakfast was a good and consistent. A fruit platter would enhance the menu. Smith beach refers to itself as LUXURY. There is no room service or poolside food and drink service. Lunch only available on weekends so based on the offerings of the resort, it is not luxury.

I understood it was not a beach view but I was shocked upon discovering I had booked accomodation that represented a transportable with no bath, no fire and only "normal" tv ( we were hoping to relax in front of a fire watching some movies in the evening) . For nearly $300 a night, it felt I paid for a deluxe caravan. Sorry. Quite disappointed. In future if I make bookings, I will be personally calling the accomodation to make sure what i have booked is the same as the photo online.

- M5533AZmarkc (6/5): Great location - It’s promoted on their web site as a luxury resort, not sure I agree with them. It’s a nice place in a very good location, Smiths beach is a beautiful beach, safe and fun, offering plenty. The resort had a communal caravan park vibe to it. Its apartments were dated and bland, didn’t feel welcoming. Having the kitchen was nice though as it gave us a break from cafes and restaurants. The pool area was great, large spacious area and well presented and maintained. Maybe a few more shaded areas but beautiful pool. The cafe is a bottle shop that serves coffee. Minimal take away menu and very limited in groceries, but plenty of wine. Didn’t use the restaurant but it looked more cafe than restaurant although the food is highly rated under a great chef so we missed a good opportunity. We stayed 5 nights, probably 2 nights too long but we did relax and got the opportunity to explore the beautiful Margaret river region.
- JodiAnne1 (10/5): Perfect family holiday spot in WA - We had a beach shack for a family of 4. We could easily have stayed a week to 10 days. It was modern, very comfortable and well-equipped. It is so perfect for a holiday. A great combo of eating in and eating out. The location on Smiths Beach is hard to beat. The beach is absolutely spectacular. The pool is lovely and so is the restaurant. This was a great spot to explore WA. Close proximity to Dunsborough, caves, other beaches and wine farms. It would be an absolute privilege to return!

From the moment we arrived, they made us feel so welcome and truly went above and beyond. We loved our time so much that we decided last minute to extend our stay because we simply didn’t want to leave. Despite the hotel being close to full, the amazing team managed to move things around to accommodate us, which we were so grateful for. An unforgettable experience from start to finish. - 601gillianw (10/5): Fabulous spacious apartments by a stunning beach - We stayed at Smith’s for 3 nights and absolutely loved it. The apartment was over 2 levels, massive and beautifully decorated. It had everything! There was also a beautiful pool (would have been lovely to have a small pool bar) which never felt too busy. We ate in the restaurant twice for dinner. Delicious food and excellent friendly service. The location was great.a walk to a stunning beach and lots of wineries and restaurants within a relatively short drive.

We received a complimentary upgrade to a 2 bedroom beach house which was a lovely surprise! The view of the ocean was stunning. The accommodation was super clean and tidy and had everything we needed for our stay. We used the pool daily which was great for us and our kids as they had a toddler pool also. The beach was just a short 5 minute walk and the water was so clear and beautiful. The staff were lovely and super friendly and helpful and Lamont’s restaurant was on site making it super convenient for either dining in or taking away to our room :) We will definitely be back!
