Guest Reviews
- Traci (10/5): - The room was clean large and comfortable! The staff was very friendly!! We would stay again!
- Mel (10/5): - We enjoyed our night at Trade Winds. The bed was notably comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was well-sized. Parking was right outside the door and it is well-located to highways into and out of Valentine. It is also quite affordable.
- Allie (10/5): - Cute little motel in Valentine NE! It was exactly what I was looking for. Such a bonus to allow my dogs to stay too!
- Margie (8/5): - We parked right in front of our door…great for unloading. Room had everything we needed and a decent selection of breakfast food. Price was great!
- Robert (10/5): Nice, clean, serves a breakfast on the go - The girl that checked us in was super friendly and professional. We had no idea what to do there as we were just passing through so she suggested some local spots including a Husker tailgate party at a church that was a hoot!
This is one of the best motels we’ve stayed in - very clean, reasonable, they take pride in what they do, serve an on the go breakfast, comfortable beds and they obviously value guests. We’ll book it again if we are in Valentine!
- Janet (10/5): - This motel is always very clean. The breakfast is nothing special but it I’m glad it’s available.
The front desk staff is also very friendly.
So, thumbs up!
- Jame (8/5): - It was fine and on the out skirts of town
- Ginny (10/5): - It was a quick overnight rest stop.
- Theresa (10/5): - Very nice, modern update motel! Convenient location, clean, nice breakfast, highly recommend.
- Sara (10/5): - Check in was quick. Parking was right outside the door. Comfortable bed and pillows. The breakfast was adequate. The staff was friendly and helpful
- Jean (10/5): - Welcoming to pets! Clean and pretty property!
- Rosemary (6/5): - Okay for a one night stay
- Patti (10/5): - Nice sized room. Friendly staff.
- David (10/5): - The room was very clean with comfortable beds. The room had extra pillows and towels. The property offered a continental breakfast that was very good. We would highly recommend this property.
- Mark (8/5): - The motel is close to the highway that has truck traffic going all night. When we arrived at our room the door was open and we had a couple of flies. It must not be rare as the motel has a fly swatter in the room. The room was clean and furniture was fine. Motels with doors open to the parking lot always make me less secure than hotels with lobbies and inside doors.
- William (10/5): - What a nice place. Not a large motel, but really nice, clean and very spacious. The gal at the front desk was very nice. Definitely if in the area will stay again
- Kimberly (10/5): - Older hotel but well maintained and updated.
- TERRY (8/5): - Only thing was the office doesn't open until 7
- Dollinda (10/5): - This is the second time we have stayed here in route to Colorado. In the world of hotels these days this is a gem for the price. Love it.
- Jean (10/5): - Very clean and the staff was accommodating.
- David (10/5): - The Hotel manager took care of me . Great Guy to Deal with .
- Pat and Nancy (10/5): Nancy - Great place to stay. Very comfortable and clean. Also quiet.
- Jennifer (10/5): - This motel exceeded my expectations. Very clean room. Comfortable bed and friendly staff.
I will return to this motel
- Kimberly (10/5): - Huge room, nice setup. Very clean. We loved it!
- Barbara L (10/5): Great place! - Great time… friendly, helpful staff.
- Yolanda (10/5): - Our stay was fabulous. The hotel was clean; people were friendly and very helpful. I would like for the parking spaces to be numbered so you can park your vehicle next to your room. We will definitely stay there again.
- hans herbert (10/5): - very friendly service at all
- jd (10/5): - Comfortable, Quiet, Well run, 66 style motel, in a great location. Park in front of your room. Alot of history, and recreation in the area.
- Chris (10/5): - Met all basic needs, clean, and comfortable.
- Linda (6/5): - Not that impressed with room or breakfast.
- MELVYN (10/5): - enjoyable stay ! CLEAN & QUIET.
- Sarah (10/5): Pleasant and comfortable - The room was spacious, comfortable and clean, including the fridge. Would have liked more pillows (only 3 for a king bed, would have preferred 4) and the shower was harsh, it came out full blast and there didn’t seem to be any way to moderate it and still have hot water. The surroundings are pleasant and the breakfast lobby is nice, with a reasonable selection.
- Cindy (10/5): - Reasonable price. Large, clean, comfortable room. Welcoming staff.
- Cody (10/5): - Great staff. Clean rooms. Wish more hotels were like this one.
- Mary (8/5): - Trade Winds is a locally owned older motel that is well taken care of. It’s a budget motel in a town that has limited dining options, so the ample breakfast was appreciated. The room was large and had everything we needed, but the appointments are what you’d expect from a budget motel. Good wi-fi, nice hot shower, nice staff.
- Patricia (10/5): - The price was reasonable and the room was clean, bed mattress was acceptable. Breakfast as minimal. As with so many other motels, there needs to be at least one gluten free option offered. Cereal, oatmeal, something.
- Don (10/5): - We have stopped here in the past
The rooms large clean with easy parking outside the door
The
Breakfast that was offered met our needs
Valentine is a friendly town
- Nolberto (10/5): Trade winds - Valentine - The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. They had enough to eat. The staff was great. He was waiting for me when I got there. They did not have a pool but I just needed a place to sleep in Valentine.
- Galen (10/5): - Room was very clear and bright.
- Deborah (6/5): - The motel was okay for a low cost choice. The room had an odor and the bed and furniture were very old. The staff was great and helpful.
- John (10/5): - Great staff and great price for the hotel
- Tracy (6/5): - Clean and safe room. Outdated, but comfortable for our 1 night stay. Breakfast leaves much to be desired.
- Aline (10/5): - We had a great stay. It is a motel so nothing fancy but staff was nice and the room was comfortable and clean. A welcome stay after a long day of traveling
- Christine (8/5): - The value is usually very good. The price may have been higher due to the local motor cycle rally.
- Deborah (8/5): - Quick and efficient check in and out - staff was always friendly. Bed was very comfortable, and there was no problem about our dog staying with us.
- Linda (10/5): - Great place, great price, overall we would highly recommend!!!
- paul j (10/5): - Good WiFi. Very clean. Great value compared to other local hotels. Quiet property just outside of town
- JIM (6/5): - continental breakfast was some if the worst I’ve experienced in a while
- Matthew (10/5): Don't Judge a Place by it's Cover - This is definitely one of those motels that you don't judge by the cover. Hands down one of our best stays for the price. The room was clean, the service was great, and we will definitely consider this as our first choice stay if we choose to go back to Valentine, NE. We needed to work on my girlfriend's car and they were accommodating with our request. Our ONLY complaint is that we're both tall, and the shower head wasn't high enough in the shower, but that isn't enough to deter us from going back. 10 out of 10 recommend Trade Winds Motel for your stay in Valentine.
- joe (8/5): - Very clean room and grounds staff very nice minor inconveniences: tv a little small breakfast was a little merger overall very nice place would come back
- rick (10/5): - Very nice
- Mark (10/5): Nice place - I've stayed at Trade Winds several times in the past five years. It has always been clean, quiet and comfortable.
- Michael (10/5): - The staff is very helpful and hard working. The property is well maintained and in a very convenient location.
- Diane (6/5): - Nice pool, ice machine close.
- Karen (8/5): - The only disappointment was the breakfast options at the hotel. It would be nice to know what to expect.
- Ron (10/5): One Short Stay. . . . . - Very Nice, well maintained vintage motel.... Very helpful staff, great chat with owner....
- Janell (10/5): Friendly, clean, and comfortable! - Really friendly staff. Room was well cared for and clean as was the bathroom. Slept extremely well as it was quiet and the beds were really comfortable. I’m in Valentine every summer and have stayed at most of the hotels. Will definitely be coming back to this one!
- Kristie (10/5): - Friendly accommodating staff.
- Jean (10/5): - It was amazing. Comfortablebeds, clean rooms, and a outstanding desk person. So friendly. It is also very quiet.loved it will always stay there.
- Brian (10/5): One night stay - One night stay as we were passing through. We overslept breakfast but the kind lady at the front desk did hook us up with what she could. She definitely didn’t need to do that. Great service!
- Ruth (8/5): - The trucks going across the bridge behind us was a little noisy. It was otherwise a nice place to stay.
- Teresa (8/5): - Cost was reasonable, area for dogs to walk around was pleasant. My husband liked the area with the slots!
- Julie (8/5): - The room was prepared even though I was early. The staff was considerate and friendly. Although the "hot" breakfast consisted of omelets to warm in the microwave, there was a variety of yogurts and juices. The room was comfortable and the property seemed well maintained.
- Steve (10/5): Good stop in Northern Nebraska. - Excellent well-maintained facility. Good value. Very clean including bathroom. Only issue were flies but hotel issues flyswatters. Otherwise excellent.
- Joseph (10/5): - Nice place and location
- Margaret (10/5): - Friendly staff and nice breakfast
- Verified traveler (10/5): Good choice - Great, clean and comfy place to stay when visiting the area
- Donna (10/5): - It was clean and comfortable. The continental breakfast was just enough.
- Stan (6/5): - The air conditioning in the room was not turned on. It was 115 degrees in the room.
- Connor (6/5): - Ok
- Carol (10/5): - Every thing was great stayed there 8 years in a row
- Dale (10/5): - Wonderful owner and great staff price was very fair
- Lora (8/5): - Older park in front of your room motel. Pretty good shape.
- Emrys (10/5): - The hotel was the cleanest and best maintained I have stayed in at this price for years. Not a speck of dirt on the floor. The room was huge too for the corner room we got. Sound between the rooms was really quiet and the front desk staff was wonderful to work with! We didn't get the chance to eat breakfast as the road was calling but the menu looked good for a motel breakfast and included an omelet!
- Mark (10/5): - We stayed here 10 years ago and it is still as nice now.
- Sherry (10/5): - Clean sheets. Basic motel. Friendly staff. Nice continental breakfast

- Staci (10/5): - Always a pleasure, with friendly service. Thanks!
- Nate (10/5): Clean and friendly - Nice clean and comfortable hotel. Friendly staff. Excellent experience.
- Deborah (10/5): - Tradewinds is an old fashioned Mom & Pop motel that has kept up with the times!!! It’s got everything you need for a comfortable night’s sleep. Adequate breakfast in the morning served in a clean spacious breakfast room.
- nancy ballester (10/5): - Clean and comfortable
- Marc (8/5): - Picture on website Much Much Much different. It’s just a small 25 room Motel. I thought I was getting a hotel.
It was overpriced too. Breakfast was limited and disappointing.
No pool. It is a senior hotel but sugary breakfast for kids. Confusing!.
- Karen (10/5): - Great staff… friendly and quick to help. Positioned travelers at least one room apart so it was quiet. Bed is beginning to show/feel some wear, but was still comfortable
- Penny (10/5): - This is by far one of our favorite motels in the Midwest. Small, clean, quiet, convenient, and comfortable room.
- yana (8/5): - Stayed for one night while traveling. This is older motel on the edge of town. It is clean and breakfast was self service. Price was right and receptionist was responsive to our request for room change.
- Nyla (10/5): - Check-in was fast and without any issues. The desk clerk was friendly and lobby was very clean.

The rooms were large! I haven’t seen that in a long time.
Staff was friendly and breakfast was much better than I expected. The cheese omelettes were delightful.

We had a ;7ght breakfast the next morning, checked out and continued our drive to Bismarck.
- Brodie (10/5): Business trip - American owned! Very neat, EXTREMELY CLEAN. No smell other than clean. Beds were pretty good too. Wonderful place to stay. People were very friendly and helpful
