Guest Reviews
- Ian (6/5): - The A/C died for our first night in the hot summer. The property did not offer us anything for our trouble. Despite this, the luggage storage was helpful and I appreciated the selzter water on tap. The front desk man was very helpful. Do be aware that it is a couple blocks from the nice area by St Martin. The immediate surroundings are sketchy and filled with homeless encampments.
- Daniyal (10/5): - Nice hotel to say
- Dario (8/5): Ok ... - Lovely location and noce staff, but Accorngeoup really cocked up: phone not working, internet not working, engineer entering my room without even knocking at the door while I was in... The hotel manager apologised, it was not her fault, but it still resulted in a far from ideal stay
- Gordana (10/5): - Perfekt gelegen um Paris zu erkunden. Das Frühstück war ausreichend.Das Personal top.
- Stefano (10/5): Not bad at all! - We have been there for just one night, the room was spacious enough and it was only 15 minutes away on foot from the station.
- Edgardo (10/5): - People at front desk were very cooperative and kind, specially a gentlement named Indrajit
Merci !
- Justin (10/5): - Très bien
- Oscar (10/5): - All good
- Carla (10/5): - V convenient location near metro across the street from Canal with restos shopping. Very nice staff. Clean. Don't expect luxury, but this is an excellent value for Paris from an international hospitality brand.
- Shigehiro (10/5): - Good
- PHILIPPE (8/5): - bon hôtel à recommander
- Silvana (8/5): - Xx
- JUAN (10/5): Muy recomendado - Excelente.
- Jacklin (10/5): - Everything was great
- christopher (8/5): - Seemed expensive for the simplicity of the facilities.
- Alex (8/5): - Staff were very helpful and accommodating. Rooms are a somewhat decent size for a short stay.
Room facilities were average… bad hairdryer, small tv, no ironing board.
But overall, a pleasant stay
- Sarah (8/5): Clean and acceptable but no extra pillows - Overall stay was good. Staff helpful and room perfectly clean and quiet. Only complaint was I asked for an extra pillow and was told this wasn’t possible (3 pillows in the room for 2 people). Room quite small but manageable.
- Elisabeth (10/5): - Very good stay, room was clean & staff were friendly
- Verified traveler (8/5): Bien - Hôtel très convenable
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Good location with easy access to gard du nord and local metros.
Hotel is clean and staff are helpful.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Clean and comfy! - Clean. Comfy bed. Good shower. Great location. Perfect for a weekend in Paris.
- Catherine (10/5): Great value, great location, great hotel - Great hotel, right on the Canal St Martin and close to Metro and Gare du Nord. Room was fabulous (for Paris), reception staff lovely, breakfast excellent, great value for the price. Certainly one to recommend.
- John (10/5): - Stayed for a long weekend break. All staff were friendly and very helpful. Room was clean and well maintained, as with all the other parts of the hotel we used. Breakfast was well stocked with a good selection. Baggage storage facility was very helpful and made it simple to arrive by train early morning and go explore Paris as the hotel was quick walking distance from the Gare du Nord station.
Would use this hotel again without hesitation.
- roland (6/5): - Located in urban wasteland although not actually dangerous
- Rosalind (10/5): - Rooms are excellent. Breakfast is great. Location good for train stations and RER to CDG airport.
- John (8/5): Good choice for short stay - We only stayed one night on a stop over from southern France back to the UK. We wanted somehwere close to the Eurostar station but in a better area. This seemed to fit the bill. The area near the canal isnt great but its OK with a few bars and restaurants. nHotel is good. Esay check. Comfortable beds and decent breakfast. Rooms are a but small but this is central Paris
- Craig (2/5): These other reviews must be fake - Found shaved pubic hairs all over the bathroom and on the carpet. Absolutely disgusted. While this second factor wasn’t a big deal for me because I am a tall muscular man but I would never want my female friends or partners to stay around here as this is a bad part of Paris and was the only place I witnessed men (presumably immigrants) harassing women on the streets many times. If your a female solo traveler this is not the place to stay. Also refused to store luggage for 2 hours and did nothing when complained about neighbors bouncing a basketball or something of that sort at 2:30am. Worst hotel experience of my life by far. Avoid. The other reviews must be fake accounts because I’ve stayed at hotels with half this rating and never complained before. This place is bad and in a bad area and was very unclean. Everything you don’t want.
- R (8/5): - It was all good, the only minus I have to mention is that in the evening prior to my departure, I asked to book a cab for 5am, I was told there is no need as the taxi comes in 5 minutes. However, in the morning, the system was not working and it took me 20 minutes to get a taxi, I nearly missed by bus to Bauvais... Other than that, everyone was nice and place has beautiful location.
- SEBASTIEN (8/5): - personnel tres disponible
- Cesar (10/5): - Staff was great
- TANGUY (2/5): Nul.... - Hôtel pourri ; réveillé le matin à 8h... Et sale. Personnel odieux
- Catherine (8/5): - Sejour tres bien
- Marc (8/5): Hôtel ibis canal st martin - Court séjour. Bon accueil.
- RoseMarie (6/5): - Location was good for getting out and about in Paris.
- Andre (6/5): tevreden - Lekker ontbijt... prijs/kwaliteit ok.
- Jonathan (10/5): - Good value and comfortable hotel. Very friendly on reception and flexible with check out.
- Ian (8/5): Paris business stopover - Comfortable small (normal for Paris) room, regular cleaning and breakfast was quite good. Welcoming staff with quick check in and out.
- Dorin (2/5): Making a profit on you - Avoid the hotel, they are trying to bankrupt you
- Steve (10/5): Parfait - Excellent sejour
- jonathan (8/5): Better on the Inside. - The group of men loitering near the entrance hotel (apparently waiting for bus) caused some apprehension upon my arrival. However, once inside, I was delighted to find a small but stylish lobby and an easy check-in process. My room was small and comfortable and the amenities were sufficient. Breakfast was superb and great value. Overall my experience was highly satisfactory and represented fair value for the price. I will not hesitate to return.
- Verified traveler (8/5): No complaint! - The staff is nice and the room is comfy not too small. One more trash bin would be nice 😊. Not so many amenities in room. I think it would be typical EU hotel.
The area around the hotel is what we concern whether we should return. There are many people hangout in front of the hotel. I don’t feel safe to to back after 10pm.
Easy access to supermarket Mono and Franchprix.
Easy walk to metros.
- Tereza (4/5): - This experience was not particularly enjoyable. It started when I got there, and they gave me a bedroom outside the building. There were stairs to get there, and it was difficult because I had heavy luggage. When I politely requested to change the room, the receptionist was really rude, and said “You should just use the stairs,” and the website stated that there was a public parking lot in the area, but the girl had absolutely no idea where. Finally, she said I could park my car in a different Ibis (hotel) around. Anyways, the staff wasn’t friendly or helpful, and the breakfast wasn’t worth €10. Despite this, it a great location.
- Alan (10/5): Good Place to Stsy - Great place to stay. Modern, clean and stylish hotel. A "working class" neighbourhood with lots of restaurants and friendly people. Metro stops nearby.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very quiet hotel even though on a busy street. Friendly and efficient staff. The room was newly decorated and super clean. The area around Canal St Martin is vibrant and has many bars and restaurants. Hotel is about 15 minutes walk from Gare du Nord. Good value for money. I was in Paris on business, I will definitely stay here again.
- Donald (10/5): Good basic hotel - The hotel was great if you want access to the Gare du Nord or Gare de l’Est both of which are within walking distance. The room was comfortable and while not overly spacious was well laid out and the bathroom was good. I’ve seen some comments on here about water pressure but it wasn’t a problem for me on the 4th floor.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Loved the breakfast and customer service. Great bed, small rooms. Overall great!
- Nora (4/5): - The lady receptionist was not very helpful. Towels were old. The location was not nice.
- Ian (8/5): Another enjoyable stay - Stayed before ideal for Gare du Nord station 15 mins walk. Great area by the canal away from main tourist areas but only 40 minute walk away or Metro Louis Blanc 10 mins walk
- Pat (10/5): Betwixmas stay - Very good hotel generally. The staff were all very good and helpful and the hotel was
very clean. The room we stayed in was spotless. My only criticism was that the shower attachment appeared to need attention. However I would definitely stay in this hotel again and would recommend it. The locality is full of character and the canal picturesque at night.
- Adrian (10/5): City break - A great budget hotel with clean, modern and secure rooms ideal for a city break.
- Lindsay (8/5): Little hidden gem in the 19th - The hotel was clean and cute, and the room was a decent size for the price (NOT easy to find in Paris). The location is not super close to many tourist attractions that are centrally located, but it is not a far walk to the Sacre Couer basilica and Montmartre, and other attractions are easily reached via Uber or the Metro. Overall we were very pleased with our stay!
- Steven (6/5): Value for money isvokay - Beds not too comfortable. Didn’t feel super safe in the area.
- penny (8/5): Hotel great. Shame about the rugby! - Went to see France vs England rugby. Hotel location ideal for getting around the city. 45 minute walk to Notre-Dame, 5 mins to metro and 20 minutes to mainline station. Hotel clean, room ideal size, good continental breakfast choices and friendly helpful staff. Only things to improve stay would be tea/coffee making facilities in room or to be available complementary for guests in reception and an English news channel on the t.v. All in all though we would definitely return. Great value for money!
- Maryse (8/5): Clean hotel, close to a lot of metro stations - We spent 7 nights in Ibis Paris Canal Saint Martin hotel. The hotel itself is small but clean, with friendly staff. Our room was small ( which is exactly what you need as we didn't spend much time in the room) but it was comfortable. They have safes in the reception in which you can leave your valuable belongings and have the key with you. It's really close 3 metro stations, a police station was also near by, restaurants, cafes and supermarkets were near too. It's a nice neighborhood, within a walking distance from Canal Saint Martin. Overall, we had a nice stay at the hotel and we liked the neighborhood as well.
- Maryse (8/5): Nice clean hotel - We spent 7 nights in Ibis Paris Canal Saint Martin. The hotel is close to 3 metro stations, a police station was also near by, along with cafes, restaurants and supermarkets. It was also a walking distance from the Canal Saint Martin which was pretty nice. Our room was small (which was all what we needed as we didn't stay much in the room), but comfortable. The staff were friendly, they offered to keep our luggages in a safe room in the reception until the time of our check in. They also have safes where you can keep your valuable belongings and have the key for the safe with you. Overall, it was a nice hotel and we enjoyed our stay there.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Efficient comfort. - Staff were all very helpful with tips for the metro and local places to eat. Service was warm and friendly. Breakfast had a great selection of items from cereal to pastry to cheeses. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. It was a little tight, but very efficient.
- Jane (10/5): 5 mins from the Metro - Great hotel, clean, quiet, with friendly staff. Hairdryer in bathroom, iron at reception if needed! Well situated for Metro 5 mins walk. Close to Montmatre district, Moulin Rouge with lively night life. Taxi back from Moulin Rouge area around 10 euros, taxi back from Latin quarter near Notre Dame 12 euros. Make sure you get a Hop on Hop off bus tour, so worth it !
- Embe (10/5): Great Place! - The hotel had a very "cool" feel, very modern. The staff was awesome and patient with us, since we didn't speak any French, they needed patience. I really liked the decor of the place. The location is not great, but it had no bearing on the feel inside the place. The price was good and the room was cozy.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Exactly what we wanted in a hotel! - The hotel was exactly what we expected! Clean, friendly staff and great for the money! It was clean and a reasonable size! Would stay again
- Diana (8/5): - Our stay was good, the only thing was that there is no ac, just air blowing with no real climate control
- abs (6/5): A standard Ibis hotel - clean rooms, fairly efficient reception staff. heating for the winter was great. rooms were very very small. no ward robes or cupboards or almirahs though. no complimentary drinking water bottle in room.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Clean - Clean rooms, pleasant, helpful staff, good services. Overall happy with stay.
- sidika (10/5): 10 minutes walk from eurostar - Great check in, great staff and stay. I haven't got one bad thing to say about my stay
- Verified traveler (6/5): Decent hotel in an okay neighborhood - I wouldn't go back again unless in a pinch
Neighborhood made me a bit uncomfortable as a young female traveler
But the hotel staff were very kind
The room wasn't the cleanest, but comfortable and small.
- Gabriella (4/5): Ibis Paris Canal Saint Martin - Expedia agent said it was 10 minutes from Gare Du Nord, it is at least 20 and when you carry a suitcase it might be more. Also, Expedia agent said everything was paid, instead I had to pay the city tax.
Breakfast was very expensive and very reduced for a buffet with no alternatives for alergies.
The staff need training to deal with tourists and drop the attitude.
- Jayaram (4/5): - Hotel room was good but practically the stay was inconvenient due to bathroom is very small, there is no enough space between wash basin, toilet and shower room that makes it too difficult go from one to another. I had stayed in many ibis before with good facilities and for the same price. But this one is on bottom of the list when compared to the others.
- Concessa (8/5): Would Come Again - Overall, I had an enjoyable stay here. Breakfast was not complimentary ( surcharge)- Pastries were always fresh. Staff was friendly and helpful.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good value hotel. - Good air con, nice shower, comfortable bed. The neighbourhood is a bit dodgy as there's a load of homeless people and it smells of urine.... but that's a road or two away from the hotel and they don't bother you.
- gani (6/5): Quick trip - The staff here were rude and incompetent. They insisted I hadn't paid for my room when it had been prepaid through Expedia (turns out they had an internal problem). Were pretty lacking in customer service skills and didn't apologise for arguing with me in check in. Another staff member couldn't direct me to a supermarket without googling it (there was one 5 mins away).
There were renovations going on in reception.
The room was small but adequate.
The area has a lot of homeless people hanging around the metro station- didn't feel terriblibly safe as a lone traveller.
I wouldn't stay here again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Superb hotel!!! - Superb hotel with extremely helpful staff. Quick check in, modern decor with improvements underway (zero noise or inconvenience caused). Excellent hotel
- Miu Miu (4/5): Contingency plan for breaking down of A/C? - We have booked this hotel for 6 nights and we met the same lady staff at the first 4 evenings. She always asked me to speak to the manager next morning when I have any problems/requests.
I started complaining the air-conditioning (A/C) was not cool on the 2nd evening of our stay and requested for any movable fan since I thought the A/C in Europe might not be so powerful due to greening. She replied no such facility. I asked her to check our A/C on 3rd evening but she sent a maid who cannot communicate in English. On 4th evening, I insisted her to go to have a look of our room (bearing in mind the temperature that day was 38 degree C in Paris). After her checking, she said the hot air was trapped in day and I should opened the window and toilet door for ventilation. Of course the situation was not improving and then she claimed the room was fully booked and there was no technician. A very suffering night to me and my girl!
The next morning, the reception staff went to my room and she immediately identified the A/C was not function properly. Thus the room was changed on the 5th night.
If the staff can be more helpful and if there is a contingency plan for such situation in hotel, we won't be such fool to stay in a room for 4 nights while paying a room with A/C.
