Guest Reviews
- Eduardo (10/5): Great view and great staff - The view it’s amazing
- Richard (7/5): Such a beautiful place ruined by intrusive raccoons - This property was thoughtfully designed with multiple palapas on two different levels with magnificent views of the bay. The common area although small was charming. We had the place to ourselves as most people ate in their room.
The staff was attentive, Dalia and Theresa to name a few. We had dinner for eight nights as my travelling companion has Parkinson’s and couldn’t go down the hill.
The wading pool was spectacular with view but falling tiles.
The suites are spacious with lovely furniture and a spacious bathroom.
It was a comfortable place to stay.
Except for regular maintenance. This place could deserve a 4 star rating if it were not for A) the invasive Paris or raccoons, one morning seven of them huddled on our deck surrounded by excrements and urine spread all over. They climb through barb wire… one entered our room one night while reading in bed!!!
B) attention to details lacked. Loose hand railing no longer secured, loose faucet, planks sticking out around pool and tiles in the pool coming loose.
C) the mattress needs mattress pad to protect mattress and keep sheets from sliding on the mattress.
I downgrade the place from 4 stars to 2.5 due to maintenance.
- Jonathan (1/5): Literally have no idea how it has 4 stars and the good reviews. Would have been beautiful when built - but not in 2026. - Location and views were nice. The place was run down in all aspects. Dusty, rust stains, bed mattress was so old and used that you both fall into the middle . The floor boards were water damaged and sagging/soft/ moving… a heavier person could have easily broken floor boards (literal health hazard).
Cleaning service made the bed and fresh bath towels but didn’t actually clean anything (ie the coffee grounds from the previous guest, dirt falling out of ceiling on the toilet) I even left the coffee ground open so they could see it - they just closed it and it was still there the next day (!?!).
Basic requests (beach towels) just didn’t materialize. When trying to ask about them through WhatsApp - I ended up getting an AI bot . We never ended up with beach towels for our surf.
All around extremely disappointed and subpar. Property smelled like septic. Not worth the money (paid 1200$ CAD for 3 nights).
- Celeste (2/5): Lovely staff and location but the accommodation is a catfish and would not stay again. - The location and views were beautiful and staff were polite Well I’ll start by saying I’m not a Karen. This places simply felt like a catfish. It was dirty and in poor condition . The floors had holes and mold and there was animal droppings all over.
- Lizetth Guadalupe (10/5): - Concepto arquitectónico, comodidad y servicio
- Florine (10/5): -
- Kelly (7/5): The location and the view from the main area was pretty, but from our room some of the foliage was so overgrown that you - I like the location of the property. It was outside of town, which can get very loud at night time. It was accessible and easily able to walk into town. It was quiet. The food was good. Upon arrival, there was no staff to greet us or let us in. We had to have another guest let us inside the gate. We couldn’t find the staff. It was odd hours with the staff and many things were lost in translation. Our room was nice, but our comforter was stained and dirty upon arrival. The staff, if you could find them, were always talking and socializing amongst each other and not as helpful as I would have expected.
- Walid (7/5): -
- franco (8/5): - Views Mosquitos in the room and few hot water
- Luis (9/5): chingon - el desayuno exquisito, la ubicación un poco retirado sin queja
- vernon (8/5): Staff excellent, very helpful - Fresh and natural
- Jenny (10/5): -
- David (7/5): Yes and no - Beautiful view and super friendly staff, the hotel is very quiet and isolated. No kids which is a big plus. The breakfast is nice and the rooms are pretty spacious. The hotel really needs some refreshments, everything is falling apart and needs some cleaning. For the price you pay I don’t feel your are getting your money’s worth in terms of confort. Too expensive for what it is.
- Sharon (10/5): 5 star service and view! - This may be THE most memorable hotel. I highly recommend every aspect to make your stay special Everything was perfect
- Stephanie (9/5): Superb - The staff were great! They were so friendly and welcoming and Chalo made THE best margarita I've ever had. The views from the room were beautiful, we would see pelicans soaring on the bay all day. We couldn't see the sunset but the light from it was still so pretty. Keep in mind you are literally in the middle of the jungle. That means there are critters everywhere, including in your room. The room could probably use some repairs but to me that was part of the experience. When we were there they were doing construction near the hotel, so the Uber/taxi had to take the long way, including into town. We would just walk to the town and it was kind of like a mini hike. You have to walk through a cemetery and that cemetery also leads to the beach we could see from our room.
- Andree (3/5): Below average - View
Simple breakfast was nice Very very tired facilities - in need of maintenance
Quality of linen was tired
Access to town was difficult
Rooms not clean to an expected standard
- Quetzal (10/5): Exceptional - Everything. The location is good, amazing views and great food.
We had a good time there.
- Loni (7/5): Nice view - Friendly staff, and good room Very remote
- Kirgan (1/5): Don't be fooled by any positive review of Hotel Boutique Siete Lunas, they are FAKE. - Besides the view, there were no redeeming qualities present at this hotel. This property is unsafe: one example of many, but probably one of the most dire, is the rotting floorboards outside the shower through which you can see down the side of the mountain where someone will soon fall to their death when the floor gives way. I didn't like ANYTHING about this hotel and felt very unsafe there for a variety of reasons which is why we left immediately after our first night, in refusing to refund our remaining nights through an intermediary the manager kept trying to characterize our dissatisfaction as our opinion of not "liking" the hotel while offering to honor our remaining paid for six nights at some future date in the next six months which was unacceptable, I wouldn't feel safe there at any point in time, we deserved our money back due to their false representation of the condition of the property. Any review you see that says anything positive about Hotel Boutique Siete Lunas is a scam most likely perpetrated by the owner to trick people into coming then refusing to refund any money, no one in their right mind would like paying luxury hotel prices for hostel level accommodations. Any picture showing anything other than deplorable conditions at this hotel are a form of "catfishing", any pictures portraying cleanliness, new furniture or linens here are VERY old and do not in any way portray the current condition of the property. I saw it all with my own eyes just days ago on 09/16/25, only trust bad reviews of Hotel Boutique Siete Lunas and DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES STAY THERE, YOU WILL ABSOLUTELY REGRET IT IF YOU DO.
- Javier (8/5): Very good -
- Edoardo (7/5): Good, but expectations were higher. - Staff is really lovely.
View is also amazing. Pictures do not reflect the current status of the facilities; they are definitely much worn. Attention to detail is not their strength.
- Staci (6/5): Breathtaking view - The location is fantastic. The staff are attentive. It is in need of repair.
- Jane (10/5): - We had a lovely time at Siete Lunas!! Such a sweet boutique hotel with incredible views, delicious food, lovely patio, pool and dining area and friendly, helpful staff!! Highly recommended!
- ricardo (6/5): Views that's all you get. - Okay I really wanted to love this hotel. The reality is very different from the fantasy that I created based on the pictures and descriptions of the hotel. First issue was the lack of communication from the hotel upon arrival you get stuck outside unless the hotel remembers to contact you before hand with instructions on how to get in. The room room beautiful at first glance but once you start going thru the room putting away your belongings you start to notice a lot and I mean a lot of issues with the room. Maybe it was just my bad luck but I had animal droppings in countless areas and the room felt like it could fall apart with a push. Everything that I saw for myself from the room to the exterior areas looked like they were falling apart, from the pool area to the rooms just need a lot of work...screws, tiles, bugs, animal droppings everywhere. The list goes on and on and I would suggest to get a car or a golf cart if you stay in this hotel the road to the hotel is rough and the walk up to the rooms is steep. So over all I am disappointed for what I paid basically 1,000 dollars and I didn't want to say anything because of the discomfort we would have to endure after telling the staff the obvious issues with the room and the place.
- Mariona (9/5): Superb -
- Ronn (6/5): Pleasant - View is spectacular, breakfast was good. Hard to get to. Overall, the place just needs updates and a bigger commitment. TV didn't work, electricity went out and no effort to help us along. No running water. Seem a bit understaffed.
- Erin (10/5): Such an incredible hideaway boutique hotel, will stay again - Breathtaking view, super friendly staff, beautiful healthy breakfast, far enough from town that you feel off grid and close enough to walk to the beach and town. Could use a little paint spruce up on the outside patio and a few more towels in the room
- Jiefeng (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carey (10/5): I wish I could live there! - Secluded location, yet close to town. Magnificent vibe and views. Very friendly helpful staff secure parking delicious dining!
- Verified traveler (4/5): The bloom is off this Lilly. - The good. Staff were nice. The bed was surprisingly comfortable. View from pool area is fantastic, just don’t lean on the railings - they’re barely attached - and when they finally fail the fall will likely be fatal. The bad. Entire place was definitely 3rd world, run down and in general disrepair. Drinks at the bar and in the room fridges are outrageously high-priced. Small bottles of cheap Mexican wine are likewise absurdly expensive. We only tried the breakfast once, then opted to walk into town (10 minutes on rough dirt road that thankfully hadn’t seen recent rains). The rim around the tiny pool was falling apart and covered with buzzard poop, so avoid if possible. Lastly, the pool, lounge, eating area has Adele and Sarah McLaughlin on repeat most days. Lots of raw sewage and rotting garbage in and around town, so don’t drink the tap water and make sure to avoid the food carts.
- Thiago (10/5): Exceptional - The view is amazing The bed's size and the mattress are not comfy
- Jennifer L (8/5): Great views & rooms!!! - Stunning location… A little bit difficult to get to. Would be nice if there were better driving directions. But once we got there, it was worth the drive up the dirt road. Would definitely return to this property for another another stay!! Theresa was very helpful & pleasant.
- Leigh (9/5): Incredible views, great service, comfortable stay. - Views were incredible!! Rooms were huge and had what we needed—minisplit, shower products, comfortable bed. The staff were also incredibly helpful to navigate transportation, spa services, and assist with dining. The chef was available breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a broad menu. Many complained about the walk to the beach, but we were surprised how short/pleasant it was. It’s steep, but doable. Just bring your sneakers! Golf carts were available to rent if you need them as well. We enjoyed being away from the hustle and bustle of town to relax in the mornings/evenings. The property is ready for a few updates—specifically, the handrails were rotted and a little dangerous around the pool area. Because breakfast didn’t start until 9 am, coffee wasn’t available until then. It would have been nice to have coffee makers in the room since we’re early risers. We communicated to staff throughout our stay using What’s App, but that wasn’t clear after making a reservation. Had I not called the hotel a few days before arriving, not sure how we would have coordinated the arrival. All that said, we’d still stay here again!
- K4vorka (6/5): Pleasant - The stuff is great and friendly. The viese are great. I booked an ocean view, and they gave me a jungle view. The whole purpose for staying there for me was the view and didn't get that
- Madison (10/5): Exceptional - Great staff, food, and the view is unbeatable.
- Debbra (10/5): - Room, view, chef and staff were great. A special shout out for the chef.
- Richard (10/5): - Our villa were nestled in the forest & very private. Views were incredible. Staff were amazing & attentive.
- Kauachi (10/5): I would like to go back - Amazing food and view
- Thomas F Woods (8/5): - Small, boutique hotel with a friendly, helpful staff
- Trang (10/5): Exceptional -
- Victor (10/5): we had a great night. great view. - breakfast really good. location not really close to town. road very dark. needs work. but i had a great experience. all good
- Catharine (10/5): 5 stars - Most gorgeous view of the ocean in Sayulita
- Chester (10/5): One of a kind! - This boutique hotel is secluded on a mountain top in the forest with spectacular views of Sayulita across the bay. Very friendly staff, with excellent food that is cooked to order. Clean, comfortable villas that offer a unique experience away from the tourist areas. There was nothing I didn't like!
- Claudia (10/5): perfecte vacation! - it was amazing and the food was really really good, overall a very comfortable hotel with a great great view and the room had everything
- Jade (2/5): - Dirty linens, not enough hot water, property damage
- Brookens (10/5): We highly recommend Siete Lunas for the laid back traveler looking for quaint amenities! We will try to be back when we - The photos online matched the villa exactly. The views are top notch and everyone was so so kind. A lovely quiet get-away but close enough to downtown Sayulita. No complaints really. Only the road to get to Siete Lunas was rocky, but we found the path eventually.
- Rodrigo (9/5): It was ok but not what we were expecting - Great view It was impersonal
- Maria (8/5): Beautiful place - The room with the view- stunning The road to and from - a bit rough and you what a surprise about the 200 foot ramp to get yo the hotel!!!
- Lloyd (6/5): Lovely views, walk to town too far, overpriced overall. - The chef was lovely and very helpful and friendly, really nice guy.
The views were great with the swimming pool. For the price you can get much better hotels, no water station provided, the included breakfast was very basic - was expecting pancakes/French toast, as per the pictures online.
We were told there were 2 welcomes drink included, only received 1, despite asking for the 2nd.
The walk to the hotel is very large, on sandy/rocky tracks. Again for the price paid, I'd expect a golf buggy hire included or for minimal excess.
- Julia (10/5): - The staff were amazing, very helpful and friendly.
- Raul (9/5): was ok - views and service rooms need maintenance
- Darrick (9/5): Great views at a great value. Staff was exceptional and so helpful. - Great location Small roads and if driving very little parking.
- Donna (10/5): Beautiful Getaway - The environment, the view, the staff were better than our expectations. It no is such a beautiful, calm environment
- Donna (10/5): Beautiful Getaway - The environment, the view, the staff were better than our expectations. It is such a beautiful, calm environment
- Sheila (9/5): Superb -
- Maritza (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rodney (3/5): Beautiful view from our room with world class vistas. But issues w the hotel. - Breakfast was ok. 2 things. 1 - very very steep and long path to climb to get to the hotel. That is not advertised anywhere and nothing in their marketing warns about it. So any issue with walking would be a problem. 2 - pillows had some type of bugs in them. Sleeping on my side with an arm under the pillow I had 18 bites on my forearm. Didn’t know it until I started sweating but once they reddened I had a serious set of itching bites. Not good.
- Flor (10/5): Beautiful place - View, good food Not close from downtown
- Charlotte (10/5): Highly recommend staying here if you want a relaxing & beautiful place to land in Sayulita. - The entire staff was incredibly kind, attentive, and helpful. We loved Coni, Chano, and Julio, who made sure we were happy, comfortable, and well fed. The setting is unbeatable - stunning views and 15 minutes away from town. The walk is not bad, but does cover some ground and can be hilly at times. Plus, the margaritas were amazing! There wasn't much we didn't like! We did recommend that the staff put out more water so that it was accessible 24/7. This hotel is definitely best for people who are willing and able to walk - there is a steep uphill to the hotel. We loved it, but it's not for everyone.
- Nina (10/5): - My fiancé and I stayed for four nights and had the most incredible time. The views, service, location and quietness was AMAZING. Would absolutely recommend to anyone who wants to have a great time in Sayulita
- Amy (9/5): Unique - It felt like we'd reserved a beautiful, private house with a staff, all to our selves. Great service, stunning view, gorgeous room surrounded by huge palms. Lovely! A bit of a walk to town but worth the privacy.
- amali (10/5): - Absolutely unique property, very romantic and breathtaking!!! Will stay again!!
- Barbara (10/5): - Beautiful quiet Boutique hotel. All seven guestrooms were individual and private. With beautiful views of the bay. Although the drive through the jungle seemed remote, it was merely a five minute walk to Playa de los Muertos and another five minutes walk Saluylita. We enjoyed the chef and his breakfast, as well as his dinners and wonderful guacamole. Although it was up on a hill, and the walk was steep, it was definitely worth it. We had a welcome reception with help with our luggage as well as assistance in anyway that we could.
- Jennifer (9/5): Diamond in the rough! - We adored the sunrise every morning from our perch on the hill overlooking Sayulita Bay. This was the most spectacular part of our 8 day stay. The casita was private, large and nicely appointed in most ways. The incense was a nice touch. We loved just hanging out and relaxing on our small terrace and we kept the large doors and windows open the entire time to the sea view. It felt like we were sleeping outside! We were there in April and did not notice any mosquitos at all…which was surprizing as we were in the jungle. There are 7 casitas which even though it was full still felt completely private. The pool area was nice and we used it several times to relax and read, they had lovely taste in music by the pool. The staff were all very nice! When we arrived, I immediately went into my “If this was mine mode” There are so many small improvements that could be done to help this small boutique hotel. They could charge more for the rooms with a few improvements. The rocky dirt road to the property desperately needs grading, it is a short distance but really could use some gravel laid. We did rent a golf cart for the week and this is necessary for your stay as it is about a mile or so out of town. The entrance to the property is the first impression and it was really messy inside the gate. There is a cute little Bungalow inside the gate that needs a good tidying up. The leaves blown off the roof and concrete areas cleaned and the extra junk taken away or stowed out of site. FIrst impressions are important. The large concrete hillside and walkway up to the hotel is really ugly and I am not sure what to do with that as it would require a large expense to fix the hillside. Better just to make that entrance area the focus and make it really nice, maybe a little speaker with music playing. Once up the walkway into the hotel area the grounds are nice and well cared for. The rooms are really comfortable in most ways except the bed linens need upgrading. The sheets were not cotton and they slide off the bed all night as they do not fit well. The coverlets are cotton and very nice and comfortable. The railings in the room were dangerously loose and need securing. If you were to lean against the railing it would break easily and one would fall 20 feet down to the rocky ground. We would have loved to eat more meals at the property, however the prices were too high for the quality of the meals. We would have been willing to pay the prices if we could trust that the meals were good. The first night we had a shrimp and pasta dish that was bizarre…it was like they poured gravy on top of a giant plate of pasta and shrimp. There were no Mexican food options! The included breakfast was tiny but quite nice.
- Kristin (9/5): Superb - Our stay at Siete Lunas was luxurious and we felt very taken care of. The view from the room is incredible, the room itself is comfortable and the bathroom was clean. The area is super private and peaceful, and we were often alone hanging out in the main terrace and pool. The food was excellent and the staff spoke great English. The food was more expensive than what you would find in town (naturally due to its location). Also, while a wonderful location, it is harder to reach especially by foot with luggage. Would recommend getting a taxi or golf cart and would not recommend to those who have mobility issues.
- Eric (9/5): Superb -
- Antonio (9/5): Superb -
- Gloria (8/5): Great view, overpriced food&bevarages, not easy access and nice staff. - The view and the pool area. The location and the parking area. The hotel is located in a difficult area, during the night hours is not an option to walk to the town because the road it’s completely dark.
They have very limited options and high prices for food and beverages.
- Nike (8/5): It was a pleasant stay and it was the kindness of the staff that really made the stay so nice. - The view was extraordinary. The service was wonderful, we really enjoyed the staff. The room was clean and comfortable. The pool was not heated. I would really have liked to use it. In addition the pool and the deck really need some attention. The noise from the clubs was atrocious. We really wanted to rest and thank goodness we travel with earplugs. They really should be offered in the rooms.
- Gerardo (10/5): Best place to stay - Everything, personal friendly and ready to help, best chef and best food i have tried. Bed really comfy and the room big and good equiped Nothing everything was perfect!
- Aida (10/5): Magical place to stay - The location and the view is amazing .
The staff are friendly and polite . We got to the property sooner than check in time and they accomodated us .
We ordered breakfast with eggs and it was perfect .
It was a bit overpriced but everywhere around the world hotels meals ' are more expensive than local resto !
I definately get back to this hotel soon
The shower pressure was also very good :) Due to the architecture and type of ceilings there are some flies during the night on the room but not bothering that much .
The drive way at the hotel enterance is very steep but the staff helped us with our luggages
The view of the hotel is priceless so the steep enterance does not count in my opinion !
- Mandy (10/5): A special, quiet oasis away from the bustling center of Sayulita. - What a beautiful place! Secluded and gorgeous and filled with nature and beautiful views and the rooms are spacious and have a wonderful view! The staff are also very friendly and helpful and lovely! They bring breakfast to your room in the morning, which you can have on your gorgeous terrace. Nothing!
- Nestor (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (8/5): Very good -
- Marybeth (8/5): Very peaceful, quiet and amazing views. - The views The doors to the outside deck of the cabana were hard to open and close.
- Salvador (10/5): - Beautiful place you can be in contact with sea and the jungle
- Dawn (10/5): - Excellent views, service, comfort and food.
- Anna (8/5): It is a beautiful property! Very romantic however the privacy is lacking as it’s a small resort and the huts are not ful - The property is stunning. The staff was friendly and helpful. We only stayed one night so we didn’t spend much time in the pool, we also didn’t get to try to chefs meals but they looked fantastic. I was shocked they didn’t offer coffee in the rooms. When I asked the staff about a morning coffee they were not able to provide coffee until 8am. As an early riser this was really disappointing to have to go into town to get a coffee. When I asked why there weren’t coffee pots in the rooms they said it was because of animals but that doesn’t make sense as the fridge was stalked with other beverages and of course guests are allowed to bring in food to their rooms.
- Alan (8/5): Good romantic getaway. - Excellent location. Great friendly staff. Yasim, Ruben, Channo all took great care of us.
We highly recommend this hotel. Rooms are really cool, but getting a bit worn out. Cracked pane of glass, hot water runs out quickly, TV remote batteries were dead and a couple of lamps were falling apart. This place is beautiful and well worth staying at. But they need to maintain better at this price point.
- Mitch (8/5): Very good -
- Victoria (6/5): Beautiful but would not return. - Very quiet and remote. In the jungle really means in the jungle. There is a very steep walkway up to the hotel and a lot of stairs with in the property. It is quite a distance from anything, about 30 min walk to town. Service was noit so good. Very limited staff and availability. Also very limited menu. We felt like we were imposing every time we asked for something.
- Priscila (10/5): - Staff is nice, helpful and friendly.
The chef personalized any dish in the menu as they prepare it the moment you order. Food is tasty, fresh and beatufully presented.
We spent six days in this hotel and enjoyed every minute.
Cinthia helped us to arrange a tour to Islas Marietas and whale watching, we were picked up and dropped off. It was fantastic!
We walked 5 min to the beach, Playa de los Muertos, it has all the services. We had the best charcoal-grilled fish skewer!
The fact that the Villa is embedded in a hill, surrounded by nature, tropical trees and facing to the ocean, you will hear the ocean waves, wind and perhaps a family of badgers fighting or looking for food out of your room at night.
Expect dirt and bumpy roads to get to the Villa, we had a flat tire on a rental car and paid eight bucks to get it fixed by the gas station.
If you want to explore the area, San Pancho is another town for dinning out and enjoy the beautiful sunset.
Playa Carricitos is a virgin beach and a walk distance for a perfect sunset shooting.
As much as the property needs some TLC, everything was working well in our villa.
- Adam (7/5): Cool place, credit card markup policies need to change - The views are indeed spectacular, and the staff is friendly. Careful: They upcharge you via the exchange rate. Read the fine print. The manager picks a bogus exchange rate that you must pay on your stay, food, and drink. We tried paying the next day in cash (MEX) according to the actual exchange rate, hoping for a refund. We were refused, even though the MEX:USD rate was virtually unchanged over that time frame.
The breakfasts they show on booking.com are indeed available, but at an upcharge. You get a basic continental breakfast (toast, coffee, a little fruit), and the menu items are quite expensive.
FWIW, the upcharge is not paid if you book directly on their website; this is only for Booking customers. I did complain with management, but they were not willing to make the situation right.
It was a nice place (little hard to get to if you don't have a car, but nice all the same), with gorgeous views. Up to you, but go in with eyes open, and management's policy on scamming clients with an unnecessary mark-up is both unfortunate and unnecessary. As long as you know, you're good.
- Jamie (10/5): This is our second time back to the property and loved it again! Rueben always takes great care of their guests! - Love the privacy, scenic views and most importantly the staff! There was some dogs off property that barked through the night but other than that great stay!
- Laura (8/5): We enjoyed our stay immensely and hope to return with friends or family on a future visit. - The property is lovely, with amazing views. You feel like you’re staying in a treehouse in the jungle. The staff was fantastic, eager to help in any way. We had complimentary breakfast delivered to our room every morning and enjoyed coffee on our balcony listening to the birds and the waves from below. The food is very good and sitting by the pool up the hill with the ocean in the near distance is a wonderful oasis from the busy (though also fun) Los Muertos beach below. The property is a relatively short distance from town, but the terrain is rough and the hotel is up a stiff incline on a rocky, rutted dirt road. It’s a treacherous walk after dark. We ended up renting a golf cart (with a headlight!) which was great, but even then, there is a hill to climb on foot to the hotel. It’s short but very steep and challenging for anyone with mobility issues, like my husband, who had recently had knee surgery.
- nancy (10/5): - We loved this spot! It is beautiful and exotic only 7 palapa's hidden in the edge of the jungle with sea views! within a 10 min walk to a sweet beach with drink and snacks! It is about a 15 min walk into town so a great idea to rent a golf cart. The staff is lovely and breakfast is perfect!
- Elizabeth (7/5): The views are beautiful, but services and amenities are severely lacking. - The views are amazing, both from the room and the pool. You wake up to a beautiful sunrise over the mountains and fall asleep to the waves crashing on the beach below. The staff was friendly. It was difficult to access food and transportation. The chef was largely unavailable and the food he made wasn’t made well. There was no ready made food available for purchase. I went to bed without dinner one night because the chef left early (this was planned, but the staff didn’t say anything to me ahead of time) and I was afriad I might hurt myself if I attempted to walk 20 minutes down the steep, unlit, rocky dirt road at night to go to town to get food. (This is definitely not a good option for people with limited mobility.) Food delivery options were limited because of the hotel’s location. Other amenities were also strangely limited. There were only a few lounge chairs and only one umbrella around the pool, so only one guest at a time was able to lounge comfortably. The bar service also wasn’t great. They would give you what you asked for. But, as with the food, I could have made better at home. The bed was comfortable, but was the only comfortable place to sit in the room, making lounging in the room during the day undesirable.
- Brent (10/5): - Great tucked out of the way place with great view.
- Ryan (10/5): Insanely unique. - Top 10 most beautiful spots I have ever stayed and I’ve been to 80 countries.
- Jeremy (6/5): - The food was not great. Staff very nice and friendly but it wasn’t as nice as the pics made it out to be.
- Marissa (9/5): Superb -
- Courtney (7/5): Perfect short stay, don’t miss out on the views and food! - The views, the food and the staff were top notch amazing!! There is so much wildlife and tropical plants. It was hot at night. We put up the bed canopy to keep the bugs out and the a/c didn’t go throw it. We would rather be hot than bug bitten.
- Paul (7/5): Good - Location and view Noise and really bad music
- Suni (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jennifer (1/5): Bad - We request a full refund due to Uninhabitable Conditions at this hotel in October 2023. We never received the refund and are still fighting for our rights. The experience was unacceptable and not as advertised, making it impossible to enjoy our vacation. Upon our arrival, we were informed that there was no electricity in the hotel and were assured it would be back within 5 hours. However, we later discovered from the staff that electricity had been out for several days. No prior warning was given to us about this critical issue. We made multiple attempts to speak with a hotel manager about our concerns but were met with no response. We also reached out to Booking.com twice for assistance, and they were unable to contact the hotel's management.
The lack of electricity made our first night unbearable. Our room temperature soared above 98 degrees Fahrenheit, coupled with high humidity. Additionally, the roads to the hotel were blocked, forcing us to carry our luggage by foot. This issue also created a safety risk, as we were unable to use our car or even our phones, which were out of power, making it dangerous to venture out at night. Given the above, it was clear that the hotel was unable to provide the services promised, and we were forced to leave after the first night for our own comfort and safety and to book another hotel. Considering the high price we paid for our booking and the failure to deliver on basic amenities and safety conditions, we demanded full refund for our stay. This was completely ignored by the hotel. This place is a scam.
- Suni (10/5): Fantastic - The view was spectacular. It is out of Sayulita which means it's quieter at night. You should consider renting a golf cart to get around, it's a 15 minut walk into Sayulita on a dirt road Loved everything. Just be prepared for a dirt road access.
- Alexandra (8/5): Excellent Hideaway - Out and away from the thick of Sayulita. Quiet, rustic, tranquil place. Tropical hideaway. Great food and hospitality. Value for the money is excellent. If you are expecting a true hotel, this is not for you. Rustic and open to nature. Can be an actual hike to town and requires up and downhill walking on some rough road. If you dont mind (like us) its great! Definitely get your steps in. Kitchen hours vary greatly, but communication about this was good through WhatsApp. Nothing!
