Guest Reviews
- Cassius31 (9/5): -
- EDYTA (10/5): Super miejsce do wypadów na lagunę - Bardzo zaazgażowany i pomocny właściciel (kanadyjczyk), spokojne i bezpieczne miejsce, dobra baza wypadowa na fluorescencyjną lagunę (właściciel organizuje wyprawy), dobre śniadania, przepyszne lody własnej produkcji (warto zajechać choćby tylko na te lody)
- Gavin (5/5): - Good location close to Mini Mart, luminous lagoon and restaurants. No working facilities due to the hurricane.
- Charmaine (6/5): Was comfortable staff professional went out of the way to satisfy us although still recovering from - No breakfast due to recovery from hurricane Melissa just coffee. Not applicable
- Ingrid (5/5): Slecht - Het hotel was in super slechte staat, in feite onverantwoord om gasten te ontvangen
Geen enkele inspanning van uitbater voor ontbijt
- Kněbort (10/5): -
- Rosie (8/5): Despite the dreadful devestation of hurricane Melissa six weeks previously the team at Fisherman’s Inn Hotel could not d - Beautiful location The karaoke disco next door was not to our taste - far too loud and rap music all the way
- Frantisek (8/5): -
- raymond (9/5): - Very friendly staff. Very clean. A bit dated.
- Anna (8/5): - Vista sul mare, posizione tranquilla, camere carine e pulite, personale cordiale, buona colazione.
- Andrea (5/5): -
- Penguin57 (8/5): - Great location near the luminous lagoon, nice room with two double beds. They have a basic breakfast available of toast and cereal which was a pleasant surprise.. also the pool was a good size for playing in with the kids. Also great WiFi throughout the premises. The place felt a little dated, but it didn't bother me. Could really have done with more electrical sockets in the room.
- Véronique (7/5): Hôtel bien pour une nuit - L'emplacement. La gentillesse du personnel. Odeur de produits de nettoyage
- Sham (8/5): - Very nice attentive staff from entering the doors to leaving,
The Gent Very helpful, the lady Very caring, she helped to support my daughter and husbands sicknesses up too leaving!
Breakfast was an unexpected surprise also would definitely stay again!! Myself and my husband didn't get the room with pool view as requested
- Chin (7/5): A relaxing stay - Breakfast was good Property requires renovation at front entrance
- Lesley (9/5): -
- Joykeria (10/5): Quiet and comfortable - Don’t judge a book by its cover…this place is very nice and comfortable. Pierre and Emmanuel are superb hosts; they make sure you are safe. It is clean. They have a pool that is cleaned daily. They have boat tours. The bed was comfortable. (We stayed in a queen room.) There weren’t many places to eat from. The area is nice and quiet, but food choices are slim.
- Alric (7/5): Overall for a short stay it's worth it - The breakfast was satisfactory
Liked view of the sea Hotel Didn't provide dinner, had to go somewhere else.
- Arnoud (9/5): Great spot with value for money to experience the Lightning dinoflagelates. - Super location to explore the luminous lagoon. They organised our trip next door. And great Jamaican diner nexto the hotel afterwards. Amazing!! All okay.
- Shakthi (9/5): Superb -
- Benilda (9/5): Awesome place! - Mainly that it was on the Glistening Lagoon. Everything was exact.
- Catherine (1/5): Awful - Nothing Everything pretty much, bug infested I got bitten loads
- Deonie (6/5): Gorgeous location & wonderful staff. - Excellent location for taking the luminous lagoon tour Property is a little dated
- Eric (8/5): The stay was good, peaceful and wonderful staff. - We like the staff, location, proximity to the beautiful beach, restaurants and transportation to Kingston and Montego Bay. Wish I had access to cleaning supplies because the floor got dirty easily.
- Gabriël (9/5): Wonderful sunsets - The view of the inlet/lagoon was spectacular with sunset. It's close to Glistening Waters night boat tour. The complimentary breakfast. The price was rather steep in comparison with other accommodations on our tour, but we were not acquainted with the area when booking.
- Eric (8/5): Very good - The breakfast could use some more variety. The TV stations could have been better and the TV is relatively small for the room that I stayed in
- Petra (8/5): Very nice little hotel directly at the Luminous Lagoon! - Nice little hotel located directly on the Luminous Lagoon. We (a couple) stayed at Fisherman's Inn Hotel for two nights and were completely thrilled! The room was large and very clean and had a terrace right on the water with a view of the jetty, the pool and the Luminous Lagoon. It was very nice and relaxing to sit there and the view was magnificent. The owner was very friendly and helpful and to our surprise even a complimentary breakfast was included. We would definitely stay there again!
- Newton (7/5): We had a pleasant and memorable stay. - Breakfast was convenient and pleasant. The experience was pleasant and relaxing. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. The location was very peaceful. It would have been nice to be able to order food from the connecting nearby restaurants for delivery to the room, even at a small delivery price.
- Emerth (9/5): Superb -
- Jacqueline (1/5): Bad - Due the very loud and disturbing noise coming from Jerk Centre on the property, I left the hotel and had to find another facility to spend the night. I should have been told that there would be a party on the property when I was checking in. The room 7 sits in the same space as the Jerk Centre, it was awful. And I had to leave at around 8:45 pm.
Next, please advise the check-in clerk on duty that the convenience store nearby does not only "take cash", they do take credit card for purchases
Very few persons travel with cash these days.
Also, train him not to ask too many personal questions, they are intrusive.
- Matthew (10/5): Beautiful waterfront room. - The staff went above and beyond on several occasions.
I am truly happy with my stay and would return without hesitation.
- Joseph (8/5): Very good -
- Bigby (10/5): My stay was beautiful staff were friendly Emmanuel was amazing and extreamly helpful. My room was nice beds comfortable - The front part of the proper perry doesn’t look as good as when you go into the rooms. My toilet got blocked and i had no water in the morning.
- Jasbir (9/5): Superb - Fabulous staff, great balcony to watch the boats and birds. A couple of good restaurants next door. Bar serving beer. Quiet and tranquil.
- Michael (9/5): Perfectly simple, subdudely relaxing, conveniently located. - The staff. Craig is a chill treasure. Polyester sheets; but I'm a complete snob about sheets.
- Scott (9/5): Superb -
- Clive (9/5): Superb - Loved the location and the ambiance of this place. Room a little dated.
- Adrian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Haughton (5/5): Passable - The view Early lock in
- Karen (8/5): Very chill place to stay as a base for other activities. The price is good. - Very relaxed vibes. Pierre, the manager, was super friendly and accommodating. Loved that ice cream was available to purchase in the afternoons! Simple breakfast offered was nice. The lady who manages made us feel unwelcome. I was disappointed that the Inn's restaurant wasn't open. Not many good places to eat around the area. Water pressure very low, but hot.
- Amanda (10/5): Excellent - Everyone was so friendly and helpful especially Craig! We would definitely stay here again.
- David (7/5): Its a quaint hideaway with a big secret which is the luminous lagoon - Continental was just right added by the owner's great conversations
- Cecile (8/5): Very good - Staff were polite, the location and the facilities. The noise from downstairs was too loud. The price for the room was too expensive.
- Janeashme (9/5): Pleasant - It was a bit confusing to locate by Google as it was on the back Road. Phone contact wasn't correct however, people in the area were able to direct us. The correction was done to the phone number promptly which was admirable. I can see why Craig was mentioned so much but other guests. He is just an all round pleasant, courteous helpful person.
We stayed over because we wanted to do the luminous tour. We booked the tour right there which is a plus. However, the glistening wasn't happening. We were told that this was possibly due to the constant rain in the area. Had no idea this was a thing. It would be a good idea to get this information if you plan to stay in order to do the tour.
Breakfast was ok. Enough provided so we had a few choices. No fruits though.
Wifi and TV worked
We would definitely revisit
- Akeen (10/5): Exceptional - Thank you
- Margot (9/5): Perfect place, very friendly - Alles
- Luke (10/5): Exceptional - Good location to be by the luminous lake. The staff was nice.
- Pamela (10/5): We had fun here. Staff were great. Good food next door. - Loved the pool and very easy way to see the luminous lagoon. Nothing
- Toni-ann (10/5): Stunnning 💕🙏 - Stunning views, staff and Manager where polite and very helpful, I enjoyed my stay as well as the peace and tranquility of the location. Definitely revisiting 💯👍 There is nothing not to like
- Ksenija (9/5): Very lovely place - Room with balcony directly over the sea and access to swimming pool. Next door restaurant is good and 3 minutes walk away.
- Molly (7/5): Pierre and Craig were phenomenal and made our stay the best. They attended to our every needs - The breakfast was nice and the pool was refreshing! Perfect location for Glistening Waters
- Angel (8/5): Perfect for what it is! - The location was perfect for doing The Listening Waters tour. But the real stand-outs were Pierre and Craig. The customer service was off the chain. They were both so friendly and accommodating. The property also has a nice pool!
- Chavonie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Steer (10/5): Exceptional - I like everything e this place it was very clean nice sea view it was amazing
- Alicia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chanda (3/5): It's a waste of $117USD PER NIGHT!!!!!! - I like the view of the lagoon. 1. Lack of toilet paper and then presented with a "scented" option which is a big no no.
2. The continental breakfast was a joke, prima brand margarine with pastries in a container that looked it was purchased from last week. The coffee was basically brown water.
3. There was only 1 Towels and rag provided and the set was even matching.
4. The bathroom mat looked like an old car mat.
5. The shower Curtain was short and flimsy looking
6. The 2 pillows provided were old and tired aka worn out and when I asked for a 3rd I was asked "how many pillows are already in the room?" I responded 2 and grudging given the 3rd one which was equally old and worn
7. The mini fridge was old and rusty and non- functional.
8. All in all this place is sufficient if you need to stay 1 night in between your travels to a better location.
I would bring your own linens (sheets/pillows and towels) it's like going camping. So for roughly $19,000JMD per night OR $117 USD FIND A BETTER OPTION!!!!!!!!
- Julia (10/5): Exceptional - The host are so helpful and nice Not a thing a recall
- Bertley (10/5): Exceptional - Could have something different at times for breakfast Every one are friendly
- Holland (7/5): Good -
- Judith (10/5): Exceptional - Did not have breakfast but a traditional Island breakfast would be excellent
Dinner was always very scrumptious The pool was dirty
- Emerth (9/5): Superb -
- Aurea (5/5): Passable - The hotel was close to the luminous lagoon The pool was out of service which was a disappointment, beds were very uncomfortable matress was very old.
- Wesley (8/5): My stay was geat the staff was great -
- Rosie (7/5): Good -
- Volkske (8/5): Loved the location ! - Older hotel. Motelstyle but with a nice terrace at the back of each room and view to the lagoon. We loved the lagoon location. Especially at night, we enjoyed sitting outside. The room as quite large with a fridge. Location was perfect to us, as almost across the Florence Hall Knutsford bus stop, with a small supermarket and very tasty takeaway food nextdoor for 1250JMD. The Main road is at 50meters to take route taxi for Falmouth, 150JMD PP OW and from there to Montego Bay, Greenwood Great house, ... disounted rate for the lagoon boat trip in the evening 20USD PP and a continental breakfast : coffee/tea, different cereals and toast with peanutbutter, jam, is offered. And last but not least : Craig is very friendly and helpful ! Older hotel especially the reception area and restaurant, are not very appealing. No cleaning during our 3nt. stay. We could ask for extra fresh towels though. Also the swimming pool was not very attractive to jump in.
- Rayon (1/5): Disappointing - Location Awful bedding/ pillows
Breakfast was dry cereal, bread, decaf tea, coffee.
Asked if I could extend my stay I was assured yes, asked for a pillow and towels. Returned to hotel, was told hotel was sold out(BS),l retrieved my stuff, checked out of hotel early 10:00pm, with one night paid for remaining!!
- Adam (10/5): Exceptional - Large and very comfortable room with a patio overlooking the lagoon. Staff were helpful, and the luminous lagoon tour booked through the hotel was a wonderful experience. The hotel is very convenient for the Knutsford Express, and there are some shops nearby. The hotel restaurant had really tasty food at a very reasonable price. Breakfast was complimentary.
- Natassia (8/5): Very good - Very pretty and quiet area Breakfast could be better. It is very simple
- Susan (9/5): Value for money, clean and comfortable Inn. - Perfect location for us as we had our own car to get around. Craig on reception was brilliant, lots of ideas and tips and very friendly. Self service continental breakfast was plentiful. Beds were comfy and great views of the lagoon. We visited Falmouth Historical centre and had a beer in Francos Nice bar, apparently the oldest bar in Falmouth. Went to 876 beach club (charge for entry) food very limited, plenty of sun loungers, DJ playing music uncomfortably loud. Enjoyed a great shrimp curry very close by at Rock Wharf Luminous Lagoon. Nothing, we had a great stay.
- Armerrat (7/5): A nice and relaxing place to stay 😊 -
- Nicole (8/5): Very good -
- Dionne (9/5): Outstanding - Last minute booking at Fishermans Inn, very impressed. We checked in late in the evening and were greeted by Craig who was helpful and welcoming. Explained how to use tv, air con, breakfast times etc. and left us numbers to contact if we had any concerns or problems. It is a small quaint hotel (12 rooms), which added to the charm and the personal touch in terms of customer service. The room was outstanding, tv, cable and air con - but the selling point was the view from our terrace which opened out onto the lagoon which was stunning, and the terrace area which encompassed the pool. They offered a trip out into the mystic lagoon where you can witness and swim in the illuminous waters. The complementary breakfast consisted of toast, jams, cereals, cake, yogurt, fruit juice, water, selection of teas and coffee and was sufficient to start your day. There is an onsite jerk centre and devons house ice cream palour if you fancy set within the grounds. At night it was very secure and this bought piece of mind. There was a short walk (3min) to the local petrol station which also housed a takeaway, gym, supermarket and money exchange centre, and further along the strip (5-7min) was the Falmouth Mystic Flava restaurant and bar where the food is amazing, and you can experience the 'Fire Man' show. A short drive in the opposite direction (twds Ochio) is where you can find Blue Waters Beach - which has an array of facilities and beautiful white sand. Overall our staff was amazing and I would stay and recommend Fishermans Inn to friends and family The breakfast could do with the addition of fruit, as it is very carb/sugar laden which we did suggest to the proprietors. I would like to suggest theme nights in order to better utilise the jerk centre and do something different to the norm.
- Guiness (8/5): It was a relaxing and refreshing experience with the sea in the background. - The breakfast was ok. Felt like having an egg sandwich one morning. Chris and Mr. Pierre were accommodating and caring. The restaurant opened too late and didn't have a variety of meals. A small sofa could be in the room.
- Dixon (8/5): Was very pleasant and I'd definitely stay again. - Beautiful scenery from my room and bed was comfortable. Room and bathroom was clean No privacy as it regards to sounds. The barrier that separates the room was not sound proof hence your neighbour can hear everything.
- Linda (9/5): Superb - Quiet location right on the water. Comfortable and easy drive to the airport from here.
- Stuart (8/5): Decent stay in a good location. - Location is ideal. View great and staff were friendly and helpful Pool murky and uninviting. Everything around the place tired and in need of updating.
Food from jerk place attached was really bad but there are other decent options near by.
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect spot for excursions. Lovely breakfast. Host very friendly. Really love the environment on the lagoon. Will visit again. Nothing to complain about.
- Niall (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent location
Friendly staff
- Peter (8/5): Lovely short stay, met and exceeded expectations; staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. - Craig and Piere were excellent hosts. Luminous lagoon tour from our terrace. Super clean. Good WiFi. Nothing
- Sara (10/5): Welcoming, peaceful and fantastic view - - So close to the lagoon!
- The staff will make you feel welcome
- Peaceful atmosphere
- Clean and comfortable
- Breakfast with coffee, juice, toast, cereal, yoghurt…
- Start the Luminous Lagoon Tour right at the pool
- Knutsford Express, supermarket and restaurant just around the corner everything perfect!
- Gianluca (9/5): Superb - nice and clean rooms. Excellent location, very friendly staff and good breakfast. Restaurants are only 2 minutes by car
- Jennifer (8/5): Great place for a shorter stay with a great price and gorgeous view right on the water. - Loved the location. Right on the water just steps outside our door. Relaxing view. Quaint, clean, friendly little place with a good location. Wish we had a refrigerator in the room, but the host was very accommodating to help us. Be sure to ask for quality local food or restaurants/places to eat nearby, some were not at all good, and others were great!
- Suzette (6/5): My stay was ok - The location a was great No housekeeping. I had to do my own cleaning.
- Angela (9/5): A delightful stay in a beautiful location. - The complimentary breakfast was just enough for us. Craig and Pierre were lovely hosts. Watching the pelicans diving for fish from our deck was one of the treats of our holiday. Having the pool a few steps away from our room was a delight. The private parking was great. We were a little concerned at first as we didn't have enough sound privacy on the first night due to other guests staying an extra night (there were connecting rooms) but it was quickly sorted for our other 3 nights. The beds were huge and the fridges much appreciated.
- Reema (1/5): Bad - Nice location on the lagoon and very close to the Knutsford express.
Coffee offered in the morning in the hotel lobby.
The hotel owner was kind and helpful. He generously offered me a drop off at the bus stop as I was leaving. Too bad I did not communicate with him directly from the start. Unfortunately, I did not at all feel safe and comfortable in this hotel due to one staff who acted in a very unprofessional manner. My entire stay was negatively affected and actually ruined by his behaviour and lack of professionalism. I even left earlier than expected the next day.
Being a solo woman traveler, I found this young man's behaviour unnacceptable when he showed me my room: we both entered the room for the short visit as usual but I noticed he tried to close the room door behind him as much as possible. Suddenly - without any explanation whatsoever - he went to close the room door - with both of us inside! This felt extremely weird and I went to re-open the room's door. He seemed to be more and more nervous and then started to laugh out loud for no apparent reason.
Later on that same evening, he seemed to be roaming around while i was saying goodnight to another guest and the moment she left and I was heading up to my room, he re-appeared in an akward way and timing to ask if everything was okay.
Moreover, prior to my arrival I had spoken with this same staff on the phone to try arrange some excursion and my airport transfer in advance. He told me he will give me the requested information and prices, but unfortunately he never called me back as convened! I called again twice and still could not get the info I needed. He told me we can sort it out once I am there.
However, upon my arrival in the hotel, to my big surprise, he told me he had NO driver and NO airport shuttle available that day and that I would need to take the bus to the airport (with its fixed schedule...). Even when I insisted that I want to arrange a private transport to the airport, he simply said it was not possible! He did not try to find another available driver or solution. I found this very disappointing as i had especially
booked this hotel for its private "airport shuttle"/driver (as mentionned on booking!).
- Taneica (6/5): We really only used the room for sleeping and showering as we were always gone. - Craig front desk staff was good also the owner. Easy to talk to and we were able to get on property after the gate was close at late nights. Don't expect too much but it's great if you're just looking somewhere easy and you're there for a short period of time. Property needs a bit of sprucing up and definitely need more lights in the room.
- Tina (9/5): Really nice stay - Nice little Hotel directly at the waterfront.
With a nice Pool and the boat for the luminous lagoon starts directly at the hotel boat Dock. Breakfast with toast and cereals is included.
Craig was really nice and helpful. He speaks several languages.
The room is big, very clean and comfortable, with AC.
We did the luminous lagoon Tour at 7 pm for 20 USD cash per Person.
5 min boat ride into the lagoon. 20 min swimming and the way back. Not too many people on Board.
Was a nice experience! No hair dryer
No shampoo
- Amy (7/5): Convenient to Luminous Lagoon and great snorkeling! - Pierre, the host is a super great guy. Very helpful and upbeat. We liked the patio and the pool deck and that it was right on Luminous Lagoon, making it so ash for us to hop on a tour for night swimming. Also we were happy that the room was clean and felt a bit more free of flying bugs than everywhere we’d stayed in Jamaica. That said, inside the room was like most hotels in the states so aside from the view it was less culturally interesting.
We had a fantastic snorkeling trip with Captain Micheal of Faithful Waters! He knew just where to take us outside the lagoon where the reef is. He actually has been part of the dive team who moved and replanted parts of the reef which were disturbed by the Falmouth cruise port.
We had a free afternoon and really appreciated our host Pierre who drove us over to 876 Beach Club for a bit more beach time at the end of our 2 week Jamaica trip. It happened to be a Sunday so the people at the beach were mostly Jamaican families having fun. It wasn’t a cruise ship day, which is a good day to skip we heard. Fisherman’s Inn is showing its age and though it has been nicely renovated it needs a more Jamaican Vibe and food. The continental breakfast was appreciated but entirely packaged food like you get in many hotels in the states.
The location is good if all you want to do is go to the Luminous Lagoon, but walking to Falmouth for shopping or restaurants will require a ride, FYI.
- Tom (8/5): Very good -
- Melvin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Agnes (9/5): Superb - We chose to stay at Fishermans Inn for 1 night before our flight home to squeeze in a couple more last day adventures that are near this hotel. The staff and owner were exceptional, very helpful and responsive right from the time we made the booking to the check out. Would highly recommend this Inn if you want to stay at a small family owned hotel vs a large corporate feeling one. Very close to Martha Brae bamboo rafting and the Inn also offers luminous bay tours. The other providers in the area had big groups going out to swim with the bioluminesense, while we were lucky enough to get a private tour here likely due to the size of the hotel :D The room was very clean and the bed was comfy, plus we had a seaside view & large balcony. Would definitely stay here again in the future. The restaurant next door had delicious optiond (we had the jerk chicken dinner) & had the best ice cream on the island!
- Kayon (10/5): Excellent place to visit, very quiet. -
- Shunwen (9/5): I will miss here! - Peaceful, nice view. Spacious room. Nice breakfast. Helpful staff.
- Beth (8/5): sagtisfactory - breakfast was alright lagoon was murky
- Audrey (9/5): Relaxing to lay across my bed with the lagoon so close through the glass door. - Didnt stay for breakfast. Had dinner the evening I arrived. It was cooked with Love. Tasty fresh snapper. The server Ayanna was very friendly and courteous.
The owners were friendly, and accommodating. There was a kettle and tea available in the lobby all day.. Opportunity for a block or concrete path to the backgate and Jerk Spot restaurant. A bit damp and wet to pull luggagae through the grass.
- Motownvoice (3/5): Do not stay in Falmouth unless you plan to pay the $500 a night for an international hotel chain. - The proprietor was friendly. It had almost none of the amenities advertised, and was even missing some that most people just expect, like an ample supply of toilet paper. There was no wifi, no hot water, and except for a bar down the road and a convenience store it was basically in a food desert. There were no cabs unless your hotel person knew one personally.
- Hagen (3/5): Poor - Wifi didnt work
