Guest Reviews
- Julio (8/5): - Good property
- Rachel (10/5): - fantastic and clean, me and my friends had a great stay
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great location and cool place - The location was great but noisy, the hostel staff were friendly, rooms were ok, not super clean but fine enough.
- Tina (8/5): - Great place in an incredible location. Has everything you need except air conditioning/a fan. Can’t beat the price!
- Peter (8/5): - Did the job for three of us staying for the marathon. Easy access to all parts of the city. Friendly, helpful staff. Reasonable breakfast for the price.
- Aidan (10/5): - .
- Joanne M (8/5): - Good location, clean and simple.
- Anthonet (10/5): - We enjoy our stay..
- Make (8/5): - Everything is great. The only point off is for no internet connection in the room.
- Hanna (6/5): - Good location
- Kathleen (10/5): Comfortable Stay - We couldn’t have found a better place to stay for our trip. We had 2 nights in Paris and wanted to stay in a good location but not spend a fortune. The location of Mije was in the heart of Marais, close to Metro stops and minutes from Notre Dame. The room was super spacious. We had a private room as there were four of us (2 adults and 2 kids). The room had 4 single beds and a private shower and toilet. It was perfect. Breakfast was basic, an assortment of bread, yogurt, cereal and apple sauce. Overall we would definitely stay here again.
- Cassandra (10/5): - Spent one night in a private room. Clean simple accommodations and a comfy bed.
- Christiane (10/5): Very central, affordable, family-friendly location - We stayed two nights at the MIJE Fourcy and really liked our visit. The room was very spacious for two adults and two children, it was clean and the central locaton a big plus. We especially liked the building snd its surrondings plus the friendly staff. Not to mention the family-friendly price that was a lot of value for the money we paid. I can therefore warmly recommend the MIJE Fourcy hostel!

- Eun-Seok (6/5): - Everything good except for WIFI.
- Anna (8/5): - Staff were excellent and helpful and kind.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good place and original place - It was a good stay. Nevertheless, the room was not isolated at all. I could hear noises from the other rooms and for the outside.
- Diana (10/5): - Everything about the facility is great. It’s simple, clean, and in a great location for the price. I had a single room which was perfect for me. The staff were nice and helpful. But do believe the reviews when they say it can get rowdy and loud at night (or perhaps it was just the guest that day), aside from that it was a great stay. Would love to come back in future visits.
- Andrea (10/5): - Great neighborhood. Tons and tons of good restaurants, close to the Louvre and Notre Dame, on the river. Good price. Very basic accommodations.
- Katherine (8/5): - Staff at the front desk very friendly and helpful
The breakfast was rather disappointing, with no muesli or croissant or cold meat/cheese.
- TuLynn (6/5): - The property was as nice as could be for a hostel, but I was not aware that it was a hostel when I booked it. E185 for one night was higher than I expected for a hostel; glad we got our own room, but we had to share the bathroom. Staff were very nice though, and because both my teens were sick (daughter had a very high fever), the staff let me bring her tea and toast which I knew was normally not permitted. I am grateful for that. And grateful that they had late check in.
- Paul (8/5): City break - We stayed 2 nights in this hostel and enjoyed it for the great central location. The room was clean but the lack of airconditioning was a big negative in mid-August in Paris.
Otherwise fine.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Awful - Terrible hostel. They won’t let you stay in your room or access your belongings from 12-3 everyday. I was feeling very unwell and just wanted to relax in bed when 12 housekeeping ladies came in and shouted at me in French, which I don’t understand. I would never return and highly recommend looking elsewhere. Only good thing is location.
- D. (10/5): - Shower doors were very dirty (calcified); no handsoap/towels provided in room's bathroom. Breakfast is somewhat basic but sufficient. Rooms are spacious and property is pretty. Not the best location but its ok. Staff is amazingly welcoming and helpful. During summer I imagine the place getting very loud, although that was not the case in early March.
- andrea (10/5): - Great location in Le Marais, easy walking to the Isle de la Cite, and metro stations. Very safe area, large room with comfortable beds. Would definitely stay here again
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great place! Only issue is that there are no doors to the shower so it’s kinda hard to take one without waking up the others
- RAJ ANILA (2/5): Checked out 1day in advance - Its terrible. On top of tht i was charged 30euros for compulsary member to stay there. Ridiculous. No soap, towels or whtever required for a minimum stay.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The showers were pretty bad with weak water pressure. Also the toilets are only in the hallway and not connected to the rooms.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - There was only one electric socket in 4 person room. And if you stay on upside of the bunk, it comes at you while you are trying to go up. Toilets are clean but toilet paper is not even paper. Totally something else :)
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The rooms were clean, people were friendly, it was nice that they offered free breakfast.
The internet connection is very spotty and there is a homeless encampment right beside the front door of the hostel. They were pretty loud the first night, living/sleeping/arguing just below my window.
That being said, I would stay at one of their 3 locations again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I really like the location of the hostel and the staff were very helpful when answering questions. Only concern was that the toilets didn't have their own sink basin, it would be a good addition as I have to go to my room to clean my hands after using the toilet facilities.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Location and the ambiance are perfect for a Parisian Stay
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was as if it was a former castle! Friendly staff. Great breakfast.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I liked the thoughtfulness and kindness of the staff. They were very thoughtful and helpful.
The only problem was the noise from the courtyard in the evenings.
- Michael (6/5): - WiFi only in courtyard, no a/c, showers were very low quality, pillows were poor, bed was small, building itself looked really cool, service was pretty good, courtyard was pretty
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The bed was fine, but the bathroom could’ve been cleaner. The WiFi doesn’t work in the room. There was no fridge to store food. I also saw some bugs. Also, I don’t know why but I had to get my card key fixed 3 times...On the bright side, they have a luggage room, and they let you store your bag there on the day you check out. There’s also a keyboard. They have good security at the door, especially when it’s late.
- Adriana (10/5): Great location, very clean - Location was excellent, I was travelling by myself so felt very safe. A lot of nice clothes shops around.
Location was great, room very clean. For breakfast there was a limited selection and there was no air con in the room which could make it very hot if temperatures go over 35C
Overall, I was very happy with quality vs price
- shannon (10/5): wait- I booked a hostel?!?! - I accidentally booked a hostel instead of hotel but was pleasantly surprised. Location is close to metro which makes getting anywhere very easy. The staff was helpful - room was clean - and while I still prefer hotels I would recommend to you get travelers
- Rachel (6/5): Good location but bare bones for the cost - The building (lobby and staircase and big windows in rooms) has beautiful character, but the private room was utilitarian. Curtains, pillows, shower, shelves-- everything is cheap and barebones and plasticy. Room was clean and the mattress was comfortable but I wish there was the option to rent a towel (I had neglected to bring one and overheard a tired traveler being told to go out and buy one at 8 pm when they arrived). Also it's 2019, invest in some wifi that covers all floors of the building (only available in the lobby). Overall felt like a lot of money for a space that has a lot of unrealized potential. Location is great and easy to access multiple lines of the metro. Previously stayed in the same area in an airbnb that, while small, came with towels, its own toilet, wifi and an elevator, and for $70 less. Would recommend that route over this establishment.
- desarmeaux (4/5): - Je suis allée à r. Garros. L accuei très bien, le service bagagiste très bien. Par contre la chambre est austère, et c est bruyant.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Lovely old building in the heart of Paris with easy walk to metro. Beds were comfortable and room was clean. Simple European breakfast served every morning. Not a lot of outlets though, and it is filled with noisy young people as well as street noise, but ear plugs did the trick for me. Would def. stay here again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Internet service was poor in the rooms, should extend network with multiple routers
- Gloria (8/5): - Stayed there about the same time a school class went on a trip so it was a bit loud; wifi was only on the courtyard. Breakfast was minimal, and restaurant difficult to find. Besides that, good location, clean.
- Verified traveler (8/5): iconic - great place
- Zoe (4/5): - WiFi is limited to the lobby, there was only one outlet in the room with 6 beds (so not everybody could charge their phones), bath towels are not provided (the guy at the front desk told me to go buy one) and breakfast was disgusting. I know it’s an inexpensive place but WiFi in the rooms, more outlets, and bath towels are a must. Definitely would not recommend.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Not really what I expected... horrible place, dirty, smelly. Bad experience
- Kevin (8/5): - Great location, check in was a breeze, free breakfast was quite good (nothing fancy but enough to fill me up). Rooms were small but clean, the washrooms were outside the rooms on every floor and they were tiny but functional. Wi-Fi was very weak in the room had to go to common kitchen hang out area to do all of my planning/maps/messaging. Beds were decent, had to share a power plug between each bunk bed (two people), my bunk stranger roommate used both plugs so I had to unplug one of his to allow me to charge my phone for the night. Key card access to rooms, could store luggage in common luggage storage. Overall very good experience, perhaps a bit expensive for what you get.
- Alice (10/5): Would stay again - Amazing staff, amazing location, clean
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was very clean and safe. The other guests were nice too.
- Yasuko (4/5): - First I reached different place based on following the direction of Hotels.com and got lost because the reception didn’t give me the map so I called and finally got the correct address but I had to ask someone to lead me there because I have no idea where is where or what street am I in. In very last day, I got robbed in the morning and lost my cell phone. The guys stole my cell phone were mafia from Morocco. And some guy who was selling newspapers at the station knew who they are so the location is not safe place.
- Katherine (10/5): Best location near the River! - Wonderful!...clean,cozy and low key. A few minutes walk from the river & the Metro!Nice breakfast and really helpful staff! Can store luggage until you return to check in.Will definitely plan to come back!
- Alex (10/5): - Nice hotel if you are looking for a place only to sleep in the beautiful Paris in a very affordable fare. Read what you are booking beacause you might be booking a room for a girl instead of one for a man or the other way around.
- J (6/5): - Really great area. Stayed in a room for two people and could not get over how bad the bathroom was. There was, in effect, no shower area for the shower, so when you showered, the water got all over the bathroom and flooded it. One of the days, the cleaning staff only made one of the beds in my room, which was weird.
- Mrs C M (8/5): Great central location - Very central location, old building with character, basic but very good for a short stay.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Bad experience
- Jaku (6/5): The bunk bed was not stable. - The staffs were really friendly, that’s the best thing of the hostel. Location and hostel decoration were nice. “No elevator” and “noisy bunk bed” were the only two things I wanna complain.
- YU HSIEH (4/5): Not worth it. - I pay €100 for a room and it was horrible......
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Only 1 power outlet for room with 4 people. So I wasn’t able to charge my phone a night, which is a necessity when traveling.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Wonderful location and great overall value. No wifi in the rooms though (only in the common area downstairs).
- Jerome (8/5): Great location - Staff is amazing. Very helpful... Gay friendly..
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great stay. Perfect location. Character and views
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Right is the centre of Paris, 10 minus walk to Notre Dame, 15-20 minutes walk to Louvre.
- Verified traveler (8/5): generally speaking it is nice - very near to subway station but I don't like the bathroom
- Jorge (10/5): Just what you need. - If you are looking for hostels is because you don't have the time to spend it at a hotel room.
This place is:
Awesome (400 years old building: Turn off your electronic devices and pretend traveled to the 16th century)
Quiet: There's a school in front of it but kids will be gone by the time you'll get there.
Clean: INDEED.
This is the one, metro station is around the corner and the neighborhood wil make you experience Paris like a local.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great Hostel at a great price in the heart of Paris.
No elevator
it's a HOSTEL
great place
- Nicolas (8/5): Good price in a good place - Simple and efficient.
Well located and very convenient. Nothing useles and all what is necessary
- Expedia Travele (4/5): Hotel is close to main attractions - I had a single room: Very small matress, dirty floor, hair found in shower, no elevator, no internet conection in rooms, (only in the reception). Breakfast is ok, Staff is Ok.
I would only recommend this hostel as a last minute choice with only 1 night stay.
- mau (6/5): - Friendly staff, clean and nice location.
I would recommend this place to my friends and family.
- Backpacker (4/5): Wouldnt Stay Again - was disappointed by this hostel. as it was our anniversary i tried booking a nice one. it was like a boarding school. the bedrooms were basic.. The beds were a foot off the floor, and the floors were dirty and sticky. enjoyed that the room had its private shower which was clean and well maintained. breakfast was monitored and you were served so there was no access to a kitchen to make your own things. staff were okay, not too chatty. found a massive spider in the room. high ceilings which meant the three flight of stairs felt more like six flights.. and there is no elevator. personally wouldnt come back or recommend.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Very basic, bare bones. You get what you pay for. The sheets are threadbare and there's a pillow roll instead of a pillow. The surrounding neighborhood is amazing so there's no reason to spend a lot of time in your room.
- Grant (6/5): Great price and location - The staff is amazing and the location and price can't be beat. However, cleanliness wasn't always the best. Cleanliness in a hostel is always a challenge though.
- Elena (10/5): Wonderful "Hostel" in the Heart of Paris - Honestly, this "hostel" felt more like a nice hotel. It was wonderfully situated in the vibrant and safe (important for me as a single, young, female) of Merais, and only a short walk to Notre Dame. The staff was lovely both at the front desk and in the restaurant. The courtyard was very comfortable and well kept, which was good because it was the only place my wifi would work (only downfall of the whole experience, if you can call it that). Overall, I would stay here again whenever I am next in Paris... and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a central Paris experience at a budget price.
- Jenn (8/5): Good place - It's very weell located. The room was clean and the staff was ok.
- Marie-Angelique (10/5): 10/10 would recommend and go back! - Great place to stay if you're in Paris! It's clean, people are friendly, and it's close to everything!
It was my first experience in a hostel and it made me want to try it again!
One thing that annoyed me (A BIT) was the lack of sockets in the rooms... but it's an old building so I understand :) !
10/10 would recommend and go back!
- Mark (10/5): Close to the area I wanted to be. - Excellent location for le Marais, gay area and Bastille. Hotel is very clean and staff are excellent. Good breakfast and a calm ambiance.
- Molly (10/5): Beautiful Buildings, Great Location - The buildings and site is really pretty - the courtyard is great for chilling in. The hostel is in a great central location, so you can walk to a lot of places quickly and easily - there is also easy access to the metro from two stations close by.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice. - The hostel was nice and clean but breakfast was small and it did not the best wifi.
- Paul (8/5): - A bit of confusion between three locations, with improvable coordination, but amicable crew sorted out its own confusions. Rock-bottom price and stunning ancient mansions converted to hostels make it a winner.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Clean and good location - Clean and tidy hostel. Location is great.
I hope wifi and charger spot will be i creased.
- Beth (10/5): Nice and safe place at the heart of Paris! - Love this place. Safe, clean and child friendly! Highly recommended.
- qinhao (10/5): Solo traveller - This is probably the one of the best hostel in Paris, of course I haven't stayed any other. But, the price is cheap, the space is big and is right in the middle of tourists spots. And also the pictures in the website demonstrates the reality perfectly. Highly recommended and will definitely try this hostel again if my solo come to Paris again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great location, very clean, OK amenities. - The best part about this hostel is that it's centrally located. It's easy to get to all the tourist landmarks either by walking or by metro. The staff was quite helpful, the facilities were quite good, room was cleaned every day and was quite about as comfy as any other hostel.
The main thing I would complain about is that you could only connect to WiFi in the main lunch/hangout room. I've never been to a hostel that you can't connect to WiFi in your own room.
Also, there was also only one power outlet in my room to share between 4 people and so it was difficult to guarantee that I could charge my phone. I could charge my phone via USB in the hangout/lunch room, but that means you can't leave your phone plugged in as you sleep.
The beds are quite small so if you're very tall then you'll have a very difficult time getting comfortable. The pillows are very thin and not much support for your head. The toilets are in the hallways, not a problem, but the toilet paper is some of the worst I've ever used. It's basically like a quarter of a rough and thin napkin, folded in half and stacked into a box. You pull them out and they consistently rip because they're so thin, and then it's not pleasant at all to wipe yo butt.
The free meal is convenient and makes the price of the hostel quite satisfying. They have a terrible selection of cereal, but the overall quality of this free breakfast is quite good. They also don't vary the items very much on a day-to-day basis, but it's good.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Economical place to stay in center of Paris - The hotel met our requirement for an ecomonical place to stay in the center of Paris.
- Verified traveler (8/5): excellent location & good facilities for the price - just one night. Comfortable bed, nice people to share the 10 beds room with (nice and quiet people), nice breakfast. It would have been lovely to have access to a kitchen tap and a microwave.
- Solange (8/5): Good location and good value. - This was a good hostel, the room was clean and quite comfortable. There were 10 beds in the room, some on a mezzanine level reached by a very steep and narrow spiral staircase. If you have a suitcase, you made need to leave it downstairs.
There were 2 showers and that was fine, but there aren't enough plug sockets in the room (none at all on the mezzanine level).
The hostel is used by school groups which can get very noisy. Breakfast is provided and there is just one person serving so you may want to avoid clashing with the school groups' breakfast time.
The location is very good and the staff are friendly and polite.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It was a typical hostel. I would probably stay in a hotel next time I come to France, but for 2 nights I was fine there.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Hostel located at a great loaction - Great location to stay. Easy access to metro stations. Breakfast was great for the price paid as well. Wifi was fast
- Verified traveler (6/5): Clean and friendly - Nice stay
Great neighborhood
3 min to Rivoli street
6 min walk to The Marais
Free breakfast
- Moonsung (8/5): Great hostel with a minor annoyance - Location is AMAZING, very close to metro and surrounded by nice restaurants. Everything was great, except one thing. There isn't enough outlets in the room. Normally hostels have an outlet by the beds, but this one has only one in the room and two in the showers. Room setup is pretty good. 6 beds setup in a way that provides some privacy, two separate showers in the room.
- Pei (8/5): great location - the location is great for tourist spot, most spots are walkable and you save on transporatation fee.
- Huldah (10/5): Best Hostel Ever! - It was a hostel that offered single rooms, doubles, triples, quads. My room was a single with shower and toilet, although most rooms don't have the toilet in the room. Beautiful, historic building. Incredible staff, helpful on all levels and the place was spotless!
- Mark (10/5): Clean, Convenient, Cheap and Comfortable - It was good and convenient to two subway stations. Close to Notre Dame and the hop on hop off scenic bust tour stop. The room had four beds and only two power points. I would have put power points near the beds night lights like most other backpackers but it is a minor thing.
- SHINJOO (6/5): Not bad hostel near river and center of Paris. - It was convenient hostel located the center of Paris.
If they were provided a towel, it may good for visitors.
- Steve (8/5): Great location, safe and clean - Happy with the accommodation, clean tidy and fantastic location right next to St. Paul's metro station. The buildings itself has a historic feel and adds to the ambience of Paris. Breakfast was not great but with the bakeries and markets around it wasn't really a bother. Would recommend to everyone and definitely stay there again.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Cheap hostel in the centre of Paris. - Convenient, clean, friendly staff, basic conditions. Very good value for money, if you book directly from the hotel, not through Travelocity, which charged me much higher than the official hotel rates.
- Michael (8/5): - clean, comfortable rooms and friendly, helpful staff. great location. only downsides were a rather spartan lobby - no real lounge space to speak of, which negatively impacted the atmosphere - and mediocre wifi access (connection was pretty poor everwhere except for one half of the lobby). however, still overall a very good stay and great value for money.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Cheap and cheerful - Conveniently on Rue de rivoli and in marais district. Rooms cheap and cheerful. Breakfast standard continental. Toilet outside room and as it's a hostel be prepared to be awoken in morning by groups congregating in yard. Staff very accommodating.
- Angela (10/5): Very convenient and just what I was looking for - Ideal for the cost conscious traveller or student. Perfectly adequate, I always feel very comfortable when I stay here and enjoy being in a fine old property with friendly and helpful staff.
I should also add that Hotels. com were unable to offer me rooms for the full extent of my visit, but when I telephoned the Mije direct ,a few days before my visit, they were able to offer me exactly what I wanted.
- Mujtaba (2/5): Worst Hotel - Worst hotel i ever stayed... No Lift at all ... my room was on third floor and i had to take my heavy luggage to 3rd floor.. no wifi on 3rd floor..
no identification...or sign.. so very difficult to locate..unless u have GPS...
Only good thing is the location of the hotel...
- ceci (8/5): Nice hotel - This is nice hotel near the metro station. The staff is friendly , kind. They helped me when I lost the battery recharge cable , he lend me it.
