- 206TravelGuy (10/5): Fantastic Stay - Will be back - Stayed here for two days for a recent event and had an overall positive experience. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and spacious. There was plenty of parking, the staff was friendly, and the location was convenient to a lot of nearby spots (including Costco and Fred Meyer). Only a couple of minor things to note: the water temperature in the room was consistently a bit lower than expected. Also, when my kids used the pool, they mentioned there was some hair in it and it didn’t appear to be as clean as it could have been.

- elainesG808AF (2/5): Aweful experience - My father was passing away and I needed to get away for a day because of all the stress that was going on in the home when I pulled up to this hotel I saw how to pool and a hot tub and that was what sold me on the place immediately plus it was close to the grocery stores that I wanted to pick up some food from. I checked in went upstairs unpacked my bathing suit And headed down to go for a swim when I went to find the changing room it was closed so I had to go back upstairs get changed and come down with a towel wrapped around me as I didn't bring anything else with me. I went to go for a swim the pool was not heated as they stated ! It was like cold bath tub water. I proceeded to go to the hot tub which was disgusting I turned it on and foamy bubbles started to come up out of the water as I sat in the hot tub I looked all around the walls and they were disgusting everything was chipped and dirty. I went back upstairs to take a shower there was no cold water in the shower I had soap in my hair and the cold water stopped I had to go rinse my hair in the sink in the kitchen . I told them at the front desk what had happened they said I'd have to talk to the manager about the room they charged me full price the manager offered me 20% off when I called the next day. I told her I thought that was very unfair the room should be compted. They said they'd give me 50% off the room but I paid an American dollars and they gave me 50% off in Canadian dollars which is 37% less. I wouldn't check into one of those hotels again if someone paid me They s

- Frankn0405 (4/5): Wish it was better - I chose this hotel because I had previously stayed at one in Oregon. I also saw lots of 5 star reviews. I regret my decision now. The hotel staff were very friendly and inviting. The woman who checked us in was very polite. When we checked out, the young man was very polite and apologetic. Here’s where the issues were. The hotel it self was clean and smelled fantastic, you could tell it was extremely clean. The room, not so much. I wish they put that kind of detail into cleaning and fixing these rooms. To start, the bathroom was not very clean. We found hair on the back of the door. There was hair in the sink, on the shower floor and the walls above the shower. But it gets better. The garage was still slightly full. Had used tissues and someone’s used flosser!!! Ughhh.. On top of that, the light bulb was out on the lap next to the bed, I tried to move it to read, and it was lose in the wall and almost hit me in the head. The shades were off track and we had to fix that so they went down. Last issue, the pillows were a hot mess, completely flat, and no support. I might as well have just put my head on the mattress. I will now use the Oxford suites next visit.

- Lisa (8/5): really good just not great. - We were advised that housekeeping would be done every other day which was fine. What I didn't realize is that just ment make the bed and change the towels. By the end of our stay the toilet was dirty and the room needed a vacuum. I spoke to the front desk and was advised that I needed to ask for that. How would I know that? Other than that, the staff was great, breakfast okay and a nice uncongested area. It was a nice stay. we will stay again.

I tried to explain this to the lady at the checkout. She told me that the manager is not “there”, but that she would pass the message. It’s been about a week & no one has been in contact with us & the situation has not been rectified. I am going to go ahead & give a 2 stars instead of 1, because everything else was great & we even had hot water in a shower in the evening, but it was cold in the morning. We ran the water for 15 minutes in hope it gets hot, but it was cold. There is no way to sugarcoat this. We did an alcohol wipe instead & went to our next destination to take a shower. Lady at the checkout didn’t seem to be concerned, but it is a big deal & the fact that I have to explain this, is totally unacceptable.

- Verified traveler (10/5): Great Place to Stay - This place has amazing variety of breakfast foods. They prepare warm meals daily for the guest like myself, they are kid friendly and they also accept pets. I want to point out that I prefer a softer bed do to my many spine surgeries it’s nicer to have a pillow topper/memory foam to rest on but the beds are ok for now. Even though I have stayed here continuously since July,12th to present I have never really seen but two animals and they were on a leash. So I feel great about staying here until my home is finish being built in California.

I had a seamless experience working with Melissa (Regional Sales Mgr) to set up the contract, and I appreciated her kindness and professionalism. A few guests in our group made 'last minute' early check-in requests which were accommodated without issue. My own experience with the front desk staff was great, as I coordinated with them to give out 'welcome bags' to friends and family at check-in. I appreciated having kitchen facilities in the guest room (refrigerator, microwave, etc.), as well as the complimentary breakfast, particularly since I was traveling with my elderly mother. Our room was on the second floor, clean, and quiet. It was definitely spacious enough for the two of us. Housekeeping services are every-other-day here, which was not a problem at all. This hotel was a comfortable option for us, and the location made driving to/from downtown, the mall, the airport, and the wedding venue, very easy. I would definitely stay at Home2 Suites in Bellingham on a future visit to the area.

The breakfast was varied and delicious every day. My faves were the chicken strips and potato wedges and also the yogurt dispenser. The saltwater pool was also fun to swim in. Location is convenient to I-5 and less than a mile to Fred Meyer and Costco. I would definitely stay here again.

- K5710PMjackr (4/5): Bathroom Cleanliness a Major Concern - We were very disappointed in the cleanliness of the room, especially the bathroom. Upon arrival, we noted that the necessary bathroom supplies had not been stocked and the room had a distinct and distastful odor. Upon closer examination, we found that bottom of the shower curtain and the tub were coated with a pink mold. We asked for a new shower curtain and cleaning -- they had a new curtain, but the cleaning staff had left for the day so we had to scrub the tub by ourselves. We also found that the carpet had not been thoroughly cleaned as witnessed by numerous crumbs. Upon checkout, we shared our concerns with the front desk supervisor. After reading their so-called "satisfaction guarantee" (shown in the photo below) we thought they might offer some meaningful compensation for the three nights we paid for the room. Instead they gave us a refund of 5,000 Hilton Honors points -- worth about $30! On a positive note the breakfast buffet was above average.

There was lots of natural light and a full fridge as well. Breakfast crew was friendly and outstanding!!!! Pool area and fitness areas were a good size. The hotel is beautiful and walkable to stores. Loved the variety of hot and cold foods at breakfast. They have recycling everywhere. The doors will slam unless you prevent this when you shut them. The laundry room is inside the fitness area...a little odd. It heats up the room.
- Burbank (1/5): Room was double booked and guests walked into the room while we were napping. - We had no problem checking in and getting the key to the room. However the following day my husband went downstairs to buy snacks and tried to charge to the room and was told we weren't in the system. Turns out we were in the system as "no show", which makes no sense as we had gotten a key and I charged my card when I checked in at the hotel. Regardless we were taking a nap and since we were considered a no show the hotel double booked our room and the next guests to stay opened our door with their key. We didn't even stay that night and left a night early. The girl who checked us out said she accidentally marked us as a no show and said she would refund us the night we didn't stay. We still have yet to be refunded. Getting woken up from a nap by people trying to barge into your room is the opposite of a relaxing stay. We will not be staying at this hotel again.

- clo2025 (2/5): Sliding Downhill, Management Arrogance & Misplaced Guest Blame - This property has truly gone downhill over the last several years, and is not meeting Hilton Standards. This property truly suffers from mismanagement. I AM DONE DEALING WITH THE EXCUSES AND INCOMPETENCE. As an elite Hilton Member, I have contacted Hilton Guest Assistance [888-240-6152] a few times over the years about "dirty rooms, cold breakfast, unmet Hilton Standards", but the worst offense is the hostile staff members and truly adversarial G.M. (Sara). Wrongfully "blaming the quests", as a readily implemented hotel strategy, is truly a Recipe for Failure, which Sara and her staff fail to comprehend. This has resulted in my filing complaints with Hilton Guest Assistance which always resolves problems to my satisfaction, despite the management's small-mindedness and hubris. Further, Hilton Corporation has contacted the ownership group (Erck Hotels) in the past, but they apparently approach Hilton with a poor attitude and air of nonchalance. AVOID the Hampton Inn down the street, as it is also run by same Erck Hotels (the "Jerk Hotels") ownership group . The CHRYSALIS HOTEL is the best Hilton Property in Bellingham. Great location on the bay. outstanding service, terrific restaurant, and minutes from downtown and other amazing venues.
- vinov764 (2/5): Never Again - As a Hilton Diamond Member with status, and have stayed at this property many times, but mismanagement (Erck Hotels of Montana) is the main issue which negatively impacts ALL other hotel service areas. The hotel management simply does not hold itself accountable, and or the hotel staff for that matter. If it was not for Poor Management, I would give this hotel a much better rating.

Front desk was initially not helpful in fact the guy told me I was out of luck since I booked through Booking.com!

- Paul (4/5): - The listed amenities clearly states free crib/infant bed. When i asked the front desk for this at checkin, I was laughed at and told i could go buy one myself at walmart or Target. If they don't have this amenity don't list it as i base my travel plans around having a crib. I would have brought something if i had known they do not have one. The staff was extremely unhelpful in resolving this issue, and did not provide me with an alternative or recourse. I couldn't cancel the reservation as it was now check-in time, so would have no money refunded. So now was forced to have my daughter who has never slept outside of her crib sleep on the floor. Guess who got no sleep.

Nice rooms and overall accommodations, but pool was cold. The one sticking point is that there are some longer term guests who made me feel uncomfortable. There seem to be some people in transition who are at the hotel and there are some people who seem to be in a difficult situation. If I needed a quick one night stay by the airport and it was just me w/out kids, it's a fine place. But I don't think I'd be quick to book it again for a family stay.

- Jennifer (2/5): - We stay at Home2Suites all over the country, and expected the same quality stay at this location. Everything went downhill after check in. Room was dirty, shower curtain was stained and reaked of mildew, towels were thin and worn, mattress was caved in and bedding was scratchy. Walls were thin and we had noisy neighbors next door and above. No vent or fan in the bathroom and the AC units kept shutting off. Several times we returned to our room being hot. There are very few channels available on the TV, and some are "rating locked" when certain shows come on. I messaged the front desk the first evening and was asked if we wanted a new room. After i went through the trouble of cleaning ours myself, i declined. The front desk asked what our other issues were and i sent multiple messages back, only to be ignored. We would have checked out early, but the room type we needed wasnt available anywhere else at the last minute. We spent a small fortune on 3 nights here and it makes me sick to my stomach to think about how much we felt like that money was wasted. There was also people squatting in the parking lot in their vehicles with lighters going off all night, so we felt like we had to keep checking on our truck periodically. After bringing up issues again upon check out, we were later offered a consolation of a few thousand hilton reward points. We will never stay here again and recommend you dont either. This place is a joke.

- Brenda (10/5): - We travelled with 2 young kids (3 and 4). The staff were fantastic. Great attitude and service. Everyone was highly attentive and in a great mood. They gifted some treats to our young kids upon arrival. They accommodated early check-in and rooming us near our friends. Fei was lovely at check-in and check-out. Our room felt huge, we got the 1 bedroom suite that had a separate living room. It was super clean. The pool was a great experience. Breakfast was better than expected for being complimentary. Something for everyone and the staff there went above and beyond to ensure everyone had something, even if they came 2 minutes before breakfast ending. The trip was beyond my expectation and I look forward to visiting again!

There was a bunch of kids playing in there so maybe they spilled something or weren’t being clean in some way. Was a bit bummed out about that but otherwise our stay was good.

The kitchenettes were well-stocked and we especially appreciated the toaster. The bed was very comfortable and it was easy to control the temperature of the room. It was so quiet there. It's just up from the freeway, but you couldn't hear it at all. The ice buckets were a bit beat-up and could stand to be replaced. It would have been nice to have some protein on the breakfast bar like cheese or hard-boiled eggs.

The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable , and ready to help with any entertainment suggestions . Their customer service is excellent .
