Guest Reviews
- Ian (10/5): - 👍
- Jackalyn (10/5): Overnight in Herefordshire - A very comfortable bed and the room had everything needed for a short stay.
Staff were great and very helpful. Parking was right next to the hotel and off-road.
Breakfast had great choices and the poached eggs were just right.
- A W (10/5): - Great place to stay. Made to feel very welcome from first moment. Nice pub, everything you want in the room and really great hosts that made you feel valued. Definitely stay here again when I’m in the area.
- Rebecca (10/5): - Loved the quaint pub and delightful staff. Made you feel very welcome.
- Diavian (10/5): - Loved our stay here! Such a beautiful location and friendly staff! The staff here went above and beyond as they allowed me to use their bar to film an audition. So grateful to them!! Still haven’t heard anything from my audition though haha but promised to call if I got it. Such a beautiful place and had a great sleep.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good for an overnight stay - We were in Room 3, a twin comfort room. The beds were at right angles to each other as there wasn't sufficient room to put them next to each other in the usual way. The en-suite shower room was surprisingly spacious and in some ways looked nicely done, though the wash basin taps were wonky and the towel rail had fallen off. The toilet was a macerator sort. Shower was electric and had moments of varying from scalding hot to cold, presumably depending on whether others were also drawing on the water, but generally was good.
The cooked breakfast was very nice.
We checked in at 2 pm and I then went to have a lie down. My husband thought he would read in the lounge, but the whole pub shut between 3 pm and 5.30 pm I think and so he was not able to. Fortunately, the weather was good so he sat outside in the pleasant garden.
It was a useful location for us, and we had had a good price via Hotels.com, so we were satisfied.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Recommended, but be aware of road noise. - Great location and very friendly host. Bar food (dinner) and breakfast were both delicious.
Wi-Fi was good and strong.
Bedroom was right next to main road, with traffic (inc v loud trucks) disturbing sleep quite a lot.
- Roger (8/5): - Location was convenient; historic premises with character. Good food and friendly staff.
Negative: Traffic noise through the night!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Restful night and good food - Friendly welcome. Tasty evening meal from a good choice of dishes. Very comfortable nights sleep and great full English breakfast to dsend us on our way. Lighting rather dim: bathroom possibly requires new fluorescent bulb: in bedroom, one of the three bulbs u/s so needs replscing and LHS bedside light bulb was quite dusty. Ligting ptroblem reported to management who took note and said they would sort asap.
- Robert (10/5): Garden Home - Exactly what you need after your day at work.
Perfect little spot for food too
- Victoria (10/5): A fantastic night's stay - We booked the Harewood Inn to attend a wedding at Homme House. As we needed to get to the venue for 1:30pm, the kind team let us check in early to drop our bags and get ready. We had a great night's sleep and the breakfast was fab in the morning. A really lovely inn, and a great stop for our nights stay.
- Ian (10/5): - Lovely staff, very friendly, breakfast was great. Thoroughly recommended.
- Gill (8/5): Perfect stopover - It was perfect as a stopover. Great food. Comfortable bed. Friendly family run business.
- Mark (10/5): Nice stay - Nice stay. Room clean and bed reasonably comfortable.
Breakfast was excellent.
If I was being critical I'd say that there is significant road noise if you need a window open and the carpets are looking pretty tired on the stairs and in the room. That aside, it was a nice stay
- Stephen (10/5): - Enjoyed our stay so much that we extended it.
- Craig (10/5): - Nice room. Great price
- Sam (10/5): - Brilliant hosts. Brilliant food
- Alison (10/5): - Lovely pub between Ross and Hereford. Lovely owners who take great care of everyone
Nice big room with comfy bed and good bathroom
Excellent breakfast catering for all dietary needs
- Carole (6/5): - Stairs to our room disgusting
Outdoor garden and courtyard messy
Bar area ok. Dinner nit bad
Staff very helpful
- Anne (10/5): - Comfy bed and spotlessly clean room and en-suite. Delicious home cooked evening meal. A really enjoyable stay!
- Gabrielle (10/5): A lovely family-run inn with great food. - A really friendly pub - the staff and owners were genuinely the friendliest I’ve ever found at a hotel. We had a lovely double room, which was really quiet and had loads of space. Breakfast was delicious - we had English breakfast, which is all sourced locally and cooked to order (definitely worth it). We also had dinner in the pub on evening - again, all locally sourced and better than many restaurants. The inn is very well located between Ross on Wye and Hereford, with lots of walks, gardens and villages around. Would highly recommend!
- Helen (10/5): Overnight at Harewood End Inn - Lovely old building with loads of character. Staff were helpful and friendly, room was comfortable and clean, food I must say was out of this world. Only down side, but it didnt bother us too much, we had twin room overlooking busy main road so it could get noisy with the window open. I would definitely stop again though.
- Jo (10/5): - I loved my short stay here. The room and food were great and all the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful.
- Angela (6/5): Delicious food and friendly staff. - Stayed here for 1 Night... First the positives ....good value for the money we paid room was basic but clean and comfortable bed the little waitress we had was so pleasant and polite also the evening meal we had was delicious as was the breakfast lovely beer garden..... Negatives.....a bit noisy think it was us being in the front of the inn,we were mistakenly overcharged by over ÂŁ20 the lovely member of staff could see the error and we were refunded the money straight away but what we were disappointed with was that it was the Landlady we had approached and I admit she was busy cooking breakfast and said she would deal with it once she finished fair enough we had plenty of time and didn't mind waiting at all but as I stated above we were dealt with by a pleasant member of staff the Landlady didn't have the decency to come to apologise wich I thought was very rude sadly due to this we would not return !
- Dean (10/5): - Beautifully taken care of and wonderful staff! Meals were delicious! Highly recommend this pub!!
- William (8/5): Would stay again. - Good value for money. Excellent food and a good location for visiting the surrounding areas.
Pleasant staff and plenty of free on site parking. Only negative was road noise so would recommend ear plugs.
Would stay again.
- Barry (10/5): - A wonderful pub and restaurant, with very convenient accommodation attached. The staff looked after us well. There was a good selection of food for dinner, and the breakfast was outstanding. There was some noise from passing traffic, but this was not overly distracting. Would definitely stay here again.
- Rob (10/5): Perfect stay - Perfect got there they went out their way to make the stay great, fully recommend thank you for everything
- James (2/5): - The stay did not happen, because the room was cancelled by the owner prior to our arrival.
We had cancel our trip.
- david (8/5): - It is a bit of a mixed bag review - the staff and catering were good but the accommodation is not as shown on the web site - the room was small and the bathroom smaller yet. a cupboard in reality. the carpet leading to the bedrooms needed a good clean or replacement which made the whole place look scruffy and dated yet the bar and restaurant quite cosy.
- Andrew (8/5): - Nicr friendly pub
- Francis (10/5): - A proper family run place which feels like an ever rarer breed these days. Very friendly staff (and dog!)
- Josh (10/5): - Lovely place to stay, really nice people and food was lovely
- Sarah (2/5): - I did self check in and gave a rough idea of arrival....but when I arrived at 8pm they had closed the restaurant early.....I do understand why however they just simply could have rung me and explained. They reluctantly offered some food (obviously not fresh....) one staff member was excellent the other was very put out. There appeared to be no one else staying and I was given a twin room that was very cold. Beds small and narrow and I tried to turn up the heating but the temp did not change. I didnt dare go downstairs and change rooms as I felt this would be a huge inconvenience and I honestly didnt expect anyone to be around!!!! The noise from the road outside was horrendous and I didnt sleep at all!!!!!! The property could have put me in a room away from the road due to it being empty and the food issue....but instead I can only feel that room 3 was the one I was allocated so be it....they did have an opportunity to iprove my stay but didnt.....I could not recommend this property at all if staying at the front due to noise levels from the road
- Gerard (10/5): - Extremely friendly and welcoming, lovely food.
- Matthew (10/5): - Excellent staff and fantastic food
- Theresa (6/5): - Room very noisey! And very bijou bathroom! Bed comfortable, bedding beautiful and clean/ fresh! Staff nice! Food a little over priced! Tasty but not much of it! Breakfast not much choice, cereal and full English! No yoghurt, fruit, no smoked salmon and scrambled eggs! Coffee and orange good!
- Kevin (10/5): Nice find - Great place to stay. Lovely room and the food served was great. Quite a busy vibe to it with a good atmosphere
- Richard (10/5): Overnight - Perfect for what I needed. I was too late to eat in the evening, so cannot comment. But a lovely simple room.
- Lewis (10/5): Great night sleep and food was excellent! - I had a lovely welcome and enjoyed some fantastic food for dinner! Comfortable stay and had a great night sleep. I went for a full English breakfast which went down a treat. Would recommend and stay again in the future.
- Carl (10/5): - Great breakfast and nice country pub vibe
- Jamie (10/5): - Fantastic team running here, very attentive and extremely friendly. Dinner and breakfast both great as well.
- Gary (10/5): - The food is fantastic and staff are very friendly
- Jan (10/5): - Staff were excellent and the food was perfect
- Felix (10/5): - Brilliant stay, breakfast delicious, staff friendly
- Peter (10/5): - We stayed one night while on our travels. The staff were friendly, our room was lovely and the breakfast was great.
- Dawn (10/5): Fantastic stay - Fantastic little gem that we stayed out for a recent wedding. Lovely spacious rooms, fantastic staff team everyone so friendly and helpful. Would 100% recommend this place
- Susan (8/5): Food excellent - Everyone very friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant was excellent and so was the breakfast. The room was very basic and too hot for me. The traffic noise in the night wasn't good and it kept us awake. Even if you could have opened a window you wouldn't because of the noise. If you are a sound sleeper this is a great little Inn.
- Peter (10/5): - Excellent stay, very good staff, food and accommodation
- Lynne (10/5): - Lovely property fantastic meal and breakfast! Nothing too much trouble staff were fab! Thank you
- Nicola (8/5): - Nice clean room with a large bed and the food was very nice. The downside was the size of the bathroom which was extremely small, it probably would be worth paying a bit extra for larger room/bathroom. Overall it was a pleasant experience and the staff were friendly.
- Matthew (10/5): - Food and Service was excellent as ever
- Mark (10/5): - Friendly staff. Great breakfast. Lovely comfortable room.
- Chris (8/5): - All good nothing to complain about
- Kevin (10/5): - A lovely b&b in a delightful part of the world.
Super friendly hosts Dan and Nicky made me feel very welcome. Great breakfast and comfortable room.
Would recommend!
- Christopher (10/5): - Really nice country inn with really helpful and friendly staff, would highly recommend.
- martin (10/5): - Great bed lovely sleep
- Gary (4/5): Over priced - Room faced busy main road, shower didn’t work, bathroom consisted of WC, wash basin and shower all in 6 sq ft. Head was in sink when on the toilet. Shower door wouldn’t open fully because of sink and being 6ft-3” and 18.1/2st it was almost impossible to enter the shower cubicle and once entered shower didn’t have power. Damp patches on ceiling and wall. Food tasty but over priced.
- Charlotte (10/5): - The room was really comfortable and the restaurant was lovely! Staff were super friendly
- simon (10/5): - good value
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Service was amazing, the staff were all really friendly and welcoming. They remembered our dietary requirements without needing to be reminded and had a great range of food options. Delicious home-cooked breakfasts, and it was lovely to be able to choose what we wanted rather than the standard bulk 'buffet' fare of a large chain.
The beds were some of the comfiest we had ever tried, and very cosy.
The only slight drawbacks were due to the age of the property, which was understandable: the noise from the road was quite loud (although we still managed to get good nights' sleep!) and some of the doors needed a bit of a shove to open/close. Limited clothing storage space for longer stays but fine for two to three nights.
I would definitely recommend Harewood End Inn for anyone looking for something with local charm for a stopover, especially if you have dietary requirements to cater for. Well suited to those doing walking/hiking nearby.
- Jason (8/5): Dans the man. - Dan was excellent host. Clean room. Nice shower. Wonderful breakfast.
The pub and restaurant are closed on Mondays so Dan directed me to nearby Ross on Wye and recommended several restaurants. If the breakfast is anything to go by I missed out on some excellent tuck in the evening.
I ended up popping to Aldi in Ross on Wye and grabbed a Kebab from the awesome, aptly named The Best Kebab and Pizza which is opposite Aldi’s car park.
- Mark (8/5): - stay here a few times, great food, nice staff, room is basic but clean, excellently priced, friendly.
- Katie (8/5): Good overnight stay. - Clean & tidy room. Very prettily decorated. Good mattress & bedding. Large bathroom, good shower.
Host friendly & helpful. Breakfast extremely good.
- Mark (10/5): Excellent value and quality - Room was great, had every amenity you could wish for. Comfort and cleanliness was excellent. Enjoyable breakfast with everything catered for, including lactose free milk if requested. Plenty of room for parking and owners welcoming and friendly. We will go there again.
- John (8/5): - The appearance and interior need attention but it serves good food and has a positive atmosphere.
- Margo (10/5): - Wonderful food. Breakfast and dinner. Friendly hosts.
- Graeme (10/5): Second time sa good as the first - Repeat stay ... business travel meant I was passing close by again ( but outside of normal hours ). They couldn't have been more accommodating. Lovely people running a slick operation. Excellent
- Peter (6/5): - The young couple owners were very friendly and efficient and deserve credit for successfully juggling work / life and making you feel welcome. The room was very cramped and in need of some modernisation / a refresh but understandably this must be difficult to afford on limited business returns. Evening meal and breakfast were both of very good standard.
- Jason (10/5): Amazing! - The room was a really good size, big comfortable bed. Smart bathroom. Very clean.
The owners and all of the staff were helpful and friendly.
The food just topped it off. Some of the best we have eaten :)
- Diane (10/5): Excellent place to stay. - The Harewood Inn is a good value place to stay. The friendly staff, excellent food, good service, cleanliness and a relaxing atmosphere makes this hotel a perfect place to stay. The hosts, Dan and Nikki, are welcoming and they go above and beyond to make you feel at home and relaxed so we could sit back and enjoy our holiday. The food was well cooked and the variety of meals available, so very enjoyable. We ate at the hotel every night of our stay as no other pub/hotel close by looked as inviting or offered what we were looking for and we were certainly not disappointed.
Thank you Dan and Nikki for making our stay very enjoyable and to the staff for all the hard work and for talking to us, so we were made to feel at home and comfortable.
Our first visit to the area but it will not be our last and we will definitely stay at The Harewood End Inn.
Hope to see you all again soon.
- Graeme (10/5): Excellent - go here - stay here. - Last minute booking - brilliant find. Great food & beer. Perfect hosts. Comfortable room & well priced ( & a carpark for my large vehicle ) What more could you want ? Excellent
- Colin R (8/5): Good Overnight Stop - Overnight stop offering good food and comfort.
- Andrew (10/5): - Great accommodation with lovely pub and great food.
- Stuart (8/5): Great Stay - Food was amazing, staff and owners were very friendly and attentive.
- Beryl (6/5): - Food in restaurant very good
- Sharon (10/5): - Dan, Nicki and the team were fantastic hosts and made our two night stay a really lovely experience. Room 5 was clean, spacious, modern and very comfortable. Breakfast on both mornings was exceptional as were the two evening meals. Special thanks to Amelia for her fabulous service on both occasions. We would certainly recommend staying here and will definitely return again in the future. Many thanks.
- Brad (10/5): - Dan and Nikki are great hosts. A home away from home. Excellent breakfasts.
- Wilfred (6/5): - The staff were very good. The Inn was very nice with very good facilities. The only thing I didn't like was the main road outside my bedroom.
- Andrew (10/5): - Nice clean and spacious room, huge bathroom and good shower, lovely staff who will do their very best to help with any requests, food was excellent and a good range of beers, ciders and spirits in a comfortable bar area. Only downside is the A49 which is incredibly busy but that is the only issue we had during a great stay. Many thanks to Nicki, Dan, Liz and the rest of the team
- Matthew (10/5): - Helpful friendly.
- Paul (6/5): Staff helpful but noisy room - Staff were fine but my room was incredibly noisy due to Road traffic. Also walls seem paper thin and I could hear people talking quite clearly in adjacent rooms
- Steve (10/5): Great value - Comfortable affordable hotel good breakfast. Would stay again.
- Andrew (10/5): Impressive! - We stayed here to attend an event at The Oldfield Forge, which is just 20 minutes away. The inn has a very family feel about it and we had a very enjoyable night there. The room (room 5) was large and very comfortable, with a lovely bathroom and huge shower. We ate in the restaurant and were very pleased with the menu, prices and quality of food. They were quite happy to serve us a lovely cooked breakfast at 0745 on a Sunday and all in all it was a thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing stay which I would highly recommend if looking for somewhere to stay near Hereford or Ross on Wye.
- Linda (10/5): - Lovely old Inn with a modern twist. Made welcome immediately by the Owner and Staff.
Food in the Restaurant was delicious and highly recommended.
Central for Ross on Wye and Hereford.
- Gareth (10/5): - very helpfull nothing to much trouble will definetly stay again
- Verified traveler (6/5): A bit mixed - The pros - a large room, large bed. large shower, plenty of parking, cooked breakfast included. Whilst it was on the road, the noise wasn’t too bad and didn’t disturb us. The team were helpful.
On the other hand, the bed was uncomfortable and the duvet wasn’t quite wide enough. The noise carried from the bar up to the room. The last breakfast time was 9am and the non-cooked options were limited.
- Lynne (6/5): - Checking-in procedure needs to get sorted.
- Mick (8/5): Harewood Inn Hereford - Good location for Hereford, great host, great food, great value
Only negative was a bit of road noise as it's by a main road.
I would definitely stay again
- Nick (10/5): - Couldn’t fault them cracking food
- David (8/5): Relaxed and Friendly - It was a last minute booking because of work carry over. I was expected upon arrival and shown straight to my room which was clean and comfortable. I had a drink and dinner in the bar where the service and food were excellent. I will definitely stay again when I’m back in the area
- Keith (10/5): Very friendly and food is superb!! - We were greeted and welcomed as soon as we walked through the door. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. Room was beautiful and spotless and please make sure that you book a meal at this place coz the food was delicious - We thoroughly recommend a visit to the Harewood End Inn, we had a fabulous stay here.
- G H (10/5): Beautiful old inn with modern day comforts - A beautiful old inn brought up to date with modern facilities and decor!! Made to feel so welcome by all of the staff who went the extra mile to make us feel comfortable and at home!! The inn dates back centuries and even includes its own well covered with a glass panel in the dining room!
The whole inn has such a good vibe with outdoor sitting and eating areas with scenic walks which go on for miles through the rolling countryside and wooded glades!
Breakfast was plentiful and cooked to order
If you’re looking for somewhere in the area to stay, eat or just a drink then the Harewood End is the place!!
- Graham (10/5): - This is a nice place to go--we enjoyed and our stay and will go back. The welcome was excellent, and service was always good. Breakfast was fine, we had a very enjoyable evening meal in the restaurant at a great price.
The Inn is on a main road our room did have road noise with the window open, but no doubt other rooms have less of this issue.
- Kim (10/5): Friendly pub restaurant with nice rooms. - We had a great couple of days at the Harewood, Dan and his team really looked after us, great food and service, he even made us up two pack lunches which were delicious !!! Can’t speak highly enough of the great service provided.
- Becky (10/5): Absolutely incredible - Amazing. Not only was the welcome absolutely lovely despite the late hour. The rooms was clean and well finished. With an incredibly comfy bed. The beautifully cooked breakfast the next morning was included in the very cheap price.
The evening good is reasonably priced, great quality, and delicious.
Already blown away by the service and quality. The landlord Dan went very far out of his way to help myself and my partner resolve our broken down van and help us get to the wedding we we’re catering on the day. Honestly can not rate this place highly enough.
- Carys (10/5): Cozy pub - Cozy, homely environment. Very friendly and welcoming owners. Rooms were spacious and clean. Breakfast was excellent. Would definitely stay again.
- Paul (10/5): - The Landlord and his wife made us very welcome and couldn't do enough for us. A really nice place to stay.
- Paul (8/5): Overnight - Perfect overnight stay on way home from southwest. Room comfy. Food was excellent.
Would definitely stay again if in the area
- Simon (10/5): - Excellent place to stay
