• Zac (5/5): - Great location There was building works through the entire first night. We weren’t made aware which was frustrating. No discount or bar credit was offered for the inconvenience. Bathroom was tiny.

• carly (10/5): Ideal location - We arrived late staff were very helpful there is no lift but our very heavy bags were carried up to our room for us. Room was clean and comfortable. The location was amazing. Close to the Town Hall Tram, Woolworths and plenty of restaurants and shops. If you enjoy walking its ideal location. I had had abit of a disaster on day of booking out but the boss and staff were so helpful and understanding. Would definitely stay again.

I think they came through the air con. Also the blinds didn’t shut properly and as the hotel was located in central Sydney it was like the light was on all night. The hotel could definitely do with blackout blinds

• Nadine 1970 (10/5): Excellent value for money in a brilliant location - the location was excellent, very central, so close to most things It was quite noisy other guests making lots of noise plus banging and drilling from the building next door at 530 in the morning. the hotel and staff itself were lovely

• Maria ignacia (5/5): - The staff was amazing, they helped us with an early check in (one of us was sick) and took our luggage upstairs. Very welcoming and friendly The bathroom was mouldy and the shower curtain had a humid smell, there was no ventilation of the room, all windows were sealed.
• Jacob (5/5): Passable - Beds were comfortable, Helpful staff member by the bar. Checking in at the bar was difficult. Security had 200 questions before they'd even let me in the door. Once checked in sadly the cleaner had missed our room and already gone home so we had to come back later for them to clean it. Air conditioner panel wasn't responding so the room was very hot & musky. Reasonably loud room also.

In the middle of renovations that was not communicated to us upon check in or prior that construction would begin at 6am (definitely sounded earlier) so was woken by VERY loud drilling with no warning. Room smelled damp (and also overpowered by 2 room scent diffusers at the same time) and the bathroom fan was not sufficient enough to exhaust the shower steam. Unable to open a window to support the steam. Bedside table (on one side on the bed) was full of dust/cobweb. Air conditioner kept resetting itself to 28 degrees overnight and would not stay cold.

• Lea (7/5): - Super Lage. Checkin Personal sehr unhöflich. Zimmer mit Fenster gebucht. Fenster vorhanden. Vor dem Fenster stand aber ein Generator. Somit eigentlich komplett dunkel. Ebenfalls hat dieser Generator einen Lärm gemacht, dass man nur mit Ohrstöpsel schlafen konnte.

• Elise (5/5): Average stay. - Location was handy, which is why we booked it. The bed was also large and comfortable. The man who checked us in was also kind and helpful. The room had a musty odour to it. The carpet flooring at the shower door was wet, even before we utilised the bathroom. The price was much higher than other rooms I have previously booked in Sydney for much higher quality, the location just wasn't as convenient for what we were doing.

• Gary (6/5): Old style basic pub accommodation in cbd. - Central location in Sydney cbd. My aircon worked unlike other friends rooms didn’t. Was in room 11. Room 12 had adjoining locked door between rooms. It may have been made of cardboard! as everything from room 12 was clearly heard. I had arranged a function for 20 in downstairs bar and the staff on the previous day when checking in didn’t know anything about it. The lower bar there was closed for our function.

• Ana Paula (7/5): It was fine - The location was great. Housekeeping was great at cleaning and leaving us fresh towels. The bathroom was so small in the already very tiny room. The facilities looked old and worn out. There was no lock for the bathroom and it was almost see through. Could hear other people in their rooms... Would be nice if they had a mini fridge. Too cramped up for our liking.

I've stayed in hotels above pubs before, and this was by far the nicest and most private The only thing I can think of is we weren't able to turn the aircon on. Not sure if that was a skill issue or not

• Danielle (8/5): totally fine. - It is well situated in the city close to QVB and walking distance to Circular quay, Darling Harbour...well everything . Loved the fact that Art Deco features had been retained. WE were mindful that bathroom could not be huge in this age building, but it was adequate. The staff were friendly and helpful as there is no lift, they carried our luggage for us. Nice coffee provided (and I am fussy in this regard), fresh towels and toiletries each day too. Meals on site was an advantage when we chose to stay in. Would have liked fresh outdoor air into the room, but windows were sealed it seems.
• Sally (6/5): Budget friendly, but don’t stay if you have sensory issues - Great location, easy to walk to shops and train stations. The Art Deco vibe was fun, I liked the original terrazzo stairs. Aircon was on when I got there and nice and cool. There’s no lift! Have to check in at the pub bar downstairs. No ventilation for the bathroom so the room smelled musty and there were black flies. The corridor is also strongly perfumed. The bed had a rubbery waterproof liner that was uncomfortable. There was no shower door, but also no floor mat or face washer provided.

Im ersten Stock stand eine nespresso Maschine - man konnte sich jederzeit Kaffee kostenlos holen. Die Koffer wurden uns ins Zimmer gebracht. Das Personal sehr freundlich. Hab noch einen 10$ Gutschein für den Pub …. Ich kann die vielen schlechten Bewertungen nicht nachempfinden. Für uns war es in Sydney eine sehr gute Unterkunft um Silvester hier zu verbringen.
• Hannah (4/5): Its okay - Excellent location. It is a bare minimum hotel, quiet enough and the aircon and TV worked well. Otherwise, nothing else going for it. Hotel itself is old and run down, no elevator so if you have large bags, you will need to carry them up multiple flights of stairs. No bar fridge, cutlery, glasses or bowls. No kitchenette. Above a bar, so the crowd downstairs can get rowdy. My room was a bit dingey with little natural light.

The room was very expensive for what it was however, I believe the price reflects the location you're in. The room was dated and felt well lived in. I probably wouldn't stay again.
