- James (10/5): - Lovely place. We were doing a road trip through Iceland and this was by far our favourite hotel that we stayed in. Beautiful room with huge amount of space. Great facilities and friendly staff. Excellent selection at the breakfast buffet.
- Cynthia (8/5): - All the rooms are on the ground level, which makes it easy to come and go. Wonderful breakfast with many options, even dried fruit. We enjoyed seeing the horses. Downside is the halls are tile, which was extremely noisy for rolled suitcases. Even with earplugs, I did not sleep well. Hot tub was not open during convenient hours.

Restaurant was excellent and offered a generous selection for the free breakfast (TIP: book a dinner reservation before checking in, if you can). Tea and coffee station was appreciated. The pillows and towels were less than stellar and the window coverings are not blackout. Note: there was no microwave or fridge in the room (which was tough if you have a cooler full of food for the rest of your travels).

- Monika (10/5): - My son and I spent three nights at this hotel. This is a hotel that caters to horse lovers and riders. Though we did not do any horse back riding, we did appreciate that each room was dedicated to a past or present horse on the premises. A plaque with the horse's name and other information was next to each hotel room. The room and bathroom were very clean. There is a restaurant on the premises for dinner and breakfast. The breakfast buffet was extensive and dinner was a la carte and delicious.

That was so wonderful and ended up being our biggest meal of the next day due to travel issues. Highly recommend and wish we could of stayed longer.

- Pamela (10/5): Overnight stay at Hotel Eldhestar - We enjoyed our one-night stay at Hotel Eldhestar. Our room was clean, staff were friendly, and the overall atmosphere was very cheerful. We went riding the next morning (my husband is not a rider!), which was also fun.

We had to leave the door open so that the heat from the hallway would warm the room but this was limited since everyone who walked by would look into our room. We were located as the first room down the hallway next to the lobby.

- David (6/5): Outdated room it lacked blackout curtains - The staff was nice. Breakfast was good. But the room was the least favorite of my trip. There were no blackout curtains. Shower was like an animal stall shower. It said the room is heated but all it has is radiant floor heat. It wasn’t all that cold but I don’t think that quantifies as a “heated” room

Outlets were oddly placed, and the breakfast was simple. But overall the staff was very friendly and the price was right.

- Simon (10/5): Very enjoyable stay and I would return. - Clean and warm rooms, friendly staff, lovely clean and hot, hot tub, free parking. The breaky starts at 7am and is good, especially for the kids. The only area for improvement would be for some children’s meals for dinner, the menu is quite pricey otherwise, so we ate at a local Pizza place that the hotel recommended. I would definitely recommend and would stay again.
- Isahea (10/5): Solo trip - 2nd time staying here, so I knew what to expect. The only difference this time was that one out of the 2 hot tubs was working. It was open from 4pm-10pm and was being used, i didn’t use it though. I would stay again.
- Julie (8/5): - This hotel is centered around equestrian life. It rained most of the time we were there so we didn’t see much of the area. The hotel is heated with geothermal. Our room was hot with no way to cool it. We couldn’t leave the door open because of the rain and the possibility of unwanted entry by humans or animals. The window would not stay open. Other than the heat issue, the hotel was good for our purposes.

The lobby-reception area is relaxing with complimentary tea, coffee, cocoa and cookies. The hotel is exceedingly clean and the decor is soothing. Our room was amply spacious with a great bath room. Again, compared to 8 other hotel stays, the Eldhestar had the nicest breakfast buffet (included). The hot tub is another plus. We also recommend dining at the hotel for dinner. Excellent service, great food.

- Izabela (10/5): Favorite place in Iceland - That was my favorite stay in the whole trip, clean, cozy, beautiful inside and the view outside is amazing. I felt so good there, safe and relax, like in a country house, seeing the mountains, snow and to complete in the morning seeing sunrise and the horses was amazing. The restaurant is so good.
- Dawn (8/5): - The room was nice. The hot water was tricky and we were worried we would break the shower control to get it warm enough to get in there. But the staff was lovely and so kind and the room was very clean. Can’t speak for the hot tub because the weather was too crazy to try it.
