- R.A.K.Karim (5/5): So sorry I really had a very bad experience I had to post this review twice. - The room was spacious The bed was bent and uncomfortable. No towels nor bathroom mat when I checked-in so I had to order it through the receptionist. Room wasn't cleaned properly as there were still dust and spills on the floors left. The fridg was terrible. Smelly and very dirty like it as been there since covid era. The bathroom drain seemed clogged as it took 3 business days to clear water from 1 shower. Not the quality you expect to get from the type of room and the price you pay. The hotel does not know the meaning of "suite".

This property failed on every basic expectation of honesty, service, and professionalism. This was one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. The hotel misrepresented its service and handling of guests, and once payment was made, accountability completely disappeared.
Issues raised were either ignored or handled with dismissive and unprofessional responses. There was no transparency, no sincere attempt to resolve problems, and no respect for the guest. I felt deliberately misled and taken advantage of.
For a hotel operating under the Aston brand, this level of conduct is unacceptable. Management clearly prioritizes revenue over guest satisfaction and integrity. This is not how a legitimate or trustworthy hotel should operate.

Never ever book a high floor. AC simply does not work. My room on the 5th føoor had no proper AC. Breakfast ordinary catering towards Asian clients. Carpets on the floors are digusting with filth and ingrown dirt.

I was very disappointed with my stay at Hotel Aston in Karimun Island. The air conditioning in the room was not functioning properly, making it uncomfortable throughout the stay. Room service was extremely slow—orders took far too long to arrive. The bathroom shower area was also poorly maintained and clearly hadn’t been checked before our arrival.
To make matters worse, the receptionist was not welcoming at all—no smile, no warmth, and it felt like we were more of a bother than valued guests. First impressions matter, and this really set a negative tone for the rest of the stay.
For the price and the reputation of the Aston brand, I expected much better service, hospitality, and room conditions.

Room was spacious and the room service changes the beddings everyday! Hotel workers are very attentive and responsive. Poor choice of fruits or dairy products for breakfast, only heavily fried food remaining from the previous evening. The shower gets flooded, and the sewage system is very noisy. Insects in the room. No window in the room. Workers speak very limited English, we had to use Google Translate.

- Amirah (2/5): Worst experience in the “best hotel” in Karimun. - Near department store and eatery. - Room Service: Requested for 2 extra pillows at check in, but they were never sent to the room. Called to ask for tissues, but had to ask housekeeping ourselves. Not sure where the menu for ordering room service is. Other room guests leave plates in the corridor and those are not cleared until days later.
- All smoking rooms: The smoke comes in through the aircon the whole day. It’s very suffocating and the secondhand/thirdhand smoke has triggered my asthma. Hotel should have non-smoking floors.
- Not soundproof: Complained about the neighbours having karaoke party a few rooms down, but nothing was done. Live band playing on the 7th floor could be heard loudly from 5th floor, past 10pm. When we called reception, they said the band was practicing for an upcoming wedding.
- TV Channels: TV channels are mainly local, anything else is bad quality.
- Leaking: On 2nd morning here, the sink pipe and shower head started leaking, and the aircon was leaking near the wall. Friend in other room had wet floor upon check in.

The young lady with glasses attending to guest requests was polite, efficient and a pleasure to interact with in the breakfast area. An excellent choice of employee at the hotel Toaster in the breakfast room was typically slow to toast the bread. This is not uncommon in hotels I have visited.

We have approached him a few times for hotel transportation to city area, his response is always that the driver is away fetching customer. We have provided feedback that the in room TV reception is poor and requested for a technician to fix it, and waited for the whole night, but no one shows up, which I suspect the same chap didn't get the technician to attend to us, given his poor services.

Breakfast included in the booking , ok have different foods daily . Opposite hotel have one department stores , fast food nearby . Next to hotel stalls selling bak ku teh…nice..but got to go early..operating time 0700-1300 only and on 1st come 1st serve basis . Business very good with local Chinese . Population seems a lot of Chinese witch sells provisions shops, seafood restaurants as well zi zhar stalls . Ferry terminal rather small..infact balai now is 10years behind Batam . If one wants to relax nd like kampung style can go balai..not so commercialized as Batam . From sin only 1 ferry daily so expect to spend 1 night in balai .

I've spent this time two nights in Aston Karimun and is the most disgusting hotel where i've ever been.
Even if i choose for a suite that by logic shoud be a bit better than any standard room, the difference is only on the dimesions.
The room was old, poorely maintened, smelly and dirty as i never seen anythig like this before.
Marking of water infiltration and mold everywhere.
Bathrom with mold and hair everywhere.
First night i woke up in the middle of the night with a cockroac that was runnig on my left arm (hotel is full of cockroac and rats especially the restaurant at 7th floor where rats freely runnig out and in from che chitchen).
I killed the cockroac with one of the bed pillow and i left the pillow dirtly on the room table. The day after housekepper move it back to the bed without even change the pillow case.
Second night, i make fall my phone charger and roll almost under the bed, when i bend over to collect it i seen something under the night table.
Was a USED CONDOM together with dust, spidernet and cockroachs dead......
I went to the reception to asking for another room and after seen the pictures the guy say: Sorry i will send you the housekeeper.
After 10mins of arguing he decided to gime me another room.
We went to 3 different room.....all exacly the same....the only difference was that we didn't find any condom spreaded around.
We went also to my room togheter with the maintenance guy and the receptionist that at this point was speechless and only apologize for the issue.
I do not use to write any bad review becasue anyone in this world can making mistake so my bad experince cannot causing bad consequences on someone else business. In this case different story, here we are talking about serious helth issues. I will post this review attaching pictures on every single web site that i know. This structure MUST change trend, is unacclettable carrying business playing with customers helth.

If not, the hotel provides complimentary taxi service which is so helpful in getting around! There's a department store in the same carpark as the hotel where you can buy snacks, water, beer if you want. A/C in the room was a dream after the weather outside. Facilities are a bit dated but ok. Fridge in room didn't work. Wifi was a bit slow but usable. The TV had ok channels but as it was a satellite TV, signal was low and had unsynced audio and video. Still great for an easy watch after a long day outside. Pool was small and filled with families (all still having a great time) so it was not for us.

Friendly....Many facilities available ; Spas. Massage. Music Lounge. Gym. Pool. Sky restaurant/bar.....The rooms are well kept and well provided with coffee maker. Toiletries. Led TV (Satellite network). The bed and bedding are clean and comfortable. There are 4 types of rooms (Standard. Deluxe premier ...) and room price includes B/F for two. The Buffet B/F is acceptable, relative to room price ! The location is Good, away from Main street. A hugh Dept Store, Padimas, just opposite the hotel, and many Good eatery few minutes walk from hotel. The hotel also provide FREE Transport to/fro FERRY Terminal !! WARN: Few hotels under "Marimun", so Ensureit is "Aston Marimun" when Book Via internet platform !!
