Guest Reviews
- Ute (8/5): Top -
- Brittany (7/5): Good for a quick night’s stay - Good location traveling around Colorado. Good value. Definitely a bit older and can use some tlc. The property manager/owner? wasn’t available for most of the morning (or evening) so if you needed something, too bad. There were several families waiting to chat with the desk when we just decided to leave, as several were told they were on their way but after an hour, nothing. Also no AC, which is understandable for Colorado, but rough in the summer.
- Jewel (8/5): Obviously a very old facility. - The location was great. It was nice to have kitchen facilities in the room. The screen door didn’t fit properly and allowed bugs in. The sofa cover didn’t fit properly and led me to wonder what nastiness it was covering. The toilet required several flushes per use.
- Anthony (10/5): -
- Randel (10/5): - Brandy was super helpful They weird guy trey looking in everyone window

- Cox (10/5): - Location
- Robin (1/5): SKIP THIS PLACE - Nothing Upon arrival, key taped to door of office for anyone to use, arrival to room 29-door was left open-room checked prior to family members entry-scary-rented 2 bed-only had 1 bed-microwave dirty-mouse feces around bathroom sink fixtures-one of our party had to sleep on floor. Will NEVER use this location as a night stay again!
- Brooke (10/5): Quaint & Cute - The property is described perfectly. We had a great stay. Hot tub was cloudy
- McClendon (1/5): An Emotional Nightmare - Absolutely nothing!!!! This was the worst experience of my life. The manager and the owner were very rude and cussing. The room after 3-4 hours of waiting wasn’t even clean yet. No one was sorry just wanted to make excuses. Was told I would get a full refund and that never happened. We didn’t even stay the experience was an emotional nightmare!!
- Andrew (3/5): - Nice location along our route We arrived at 9:15, office closed at 9. No answer to phone number and no refund. Bad cell service on the way there, couldn't call ahead. Had to keep driving to find a place to stay
- Shoemate (3/5): Cabin was dirty, linens cheap and thin, 1 person in party woke up with bites all over, no toilet paper, pictures online - Location
- Kris (9/5): Super nice. The staff makes it feel like home. - Location is great. Super friendly staff. Attentive to all my needs. They went out of there way to meet
my special requests. No iron. But they said they will be sure to add one.

- Bruce Leachman (9/5): -
- Mark (5/5): -
- John (9/5): Great spot for RV or last minute spot - Rustic motel vibe Only one small towel, no AC
- Leticia (5/5): Passable - No extra toilet paper in room so we ran out
No Kleenex in room
Bathroom had hair in tub when we got there
Sink had hair in it
Hot tub wasn’t clean
- Courtenay (3/5): It was a roof over my head for the night. Not impressed - Dirty, and very out dated. Needs repairs. No AC.
- Brian (9/5): Superb -
- Christian (8/5): Very good -
- Galyean (6/5): Pleasant -
- Al (8/5): Very good - Location, quiet Poor coffee maker
- Dennis (8/5): It was a very good stay - Was a nice location easy to get to just far enough out of town didn’t get much of the town noise. I would definitely stay there again. Could use a little bit of updating, but other than that everything was good maybe a few more plug-ins in the room.
- Joy (8/5): Comfortable and relaxing stay. - Nice quiet, clean and peaceful stay. Bed was very comfortable.
- Judi (8/5): Very good - Room was a good size and comfortable. Grounds were pleasant. It was a good value for the price. Easy check in - we got there a little late so the key was waiting for us in an envelope on teh office door. It was good having a refrigerator in the room, but the inside of the door was disgusting and it needs to be replaced. Since there didn't seem to be anyone on site in charge, no one dealt with a very noisy neighbor blasting country music until late at night.
- Christy (10/5): Enjoyed our 2nd stay at Ute Lodge! - We like the closeness to town and other spots nearby. love the lodge, the town is shy of having places to grab a meal
- Christopher (7/5): Ok place to stay for fishing, but not for couples where the one doesn’t fish. - Location of Ute Bluff to good fly fishing rivers, creeks and lakes. The place as a whole is pretty run down
- Kimmy (8/5): Very good -
- Jack (10/5): Excellent Lodging in South Fork, CO - Excellent place to stay in South Fork- RV sites, cabins & two story motel. This is the second time I stayed here during my ten day road trip. Stayed at begin & end of the trip. So yes, I can highly recommend this Ute Lodge.
Fast and easy check-in. Clean room. Good location. There were no negatives encountered.
- Alison (9/5): Older place but clean and exactly what we needed. Has great water pressure - It was clean and exactly what we needed for a good price Definitely older but still nice
- Rafael (4/5): Disappointing -
- Chris (10/5): Wonderful staff, clean rooms, and affordable rate. Excellent value! - This was an unexpected gem! We were just looking for something cheap to rest for the night on our journey from Denver to Pagosa Springs. The room exceeded our expectations in every category and was exceedingly clean and well kept. We would definitely stay here again! The only gripe we had and it was a very small one was that the beds were too soft for our liking but that is entirely a personal preference and not indicative of a lack of quality. The beds seemed very nice just too soft for us.
- Wayne (7/5): Good -
- Herrera (7/5): Good -
- Jack (10/5): Excellent lodging Place to Stay in South Fork - Excellent location and lodging. Very fast check-in. Reception provided best places for dinner and breakfast. Nothing- no issues, problems or recommended improvements.
- P.j. (9/5): Superb - We loved the location, room, staff and price. No tv except for ROCU
- Deborah (10/5): Very peaceful - It was a very cute cabin, very clean. The staff were very nice and helpful. Nothing
- Taya (10/5): Beautiful area, great for the outdoorsy type. - Beautiful location amongst the mountains and river. Easy check in and quite comfortable.
- Ted (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good -
- Golden (7/5): Served My Purpose - I didn't know there was breakfast. But, I liked the location, and they allow dogs. It was ok. Nothing fancy by any means. They could update the room.
- Sydnee (4/5): The location is great and the general area is very quiet but the cleaning staff needs to do a little better, maybe rotat - The location was good, area was quiet. Our only source for cooling the room was leaving our window open, which wouldn’t have been an issue if our window screen was bug proof (no large holes or tears). Our bathroom, shower curtain had literal dried boogers on it, and someone else’s bar soap remnants all in the shower (also full of bugs because of the holes in the window screen) toilet was moldy. There were used toiletries on top of the tv. One of the beds in our room was unsafe to sleep on, from our view of the legs they were already bent crooked. Both mattresses also were very uneven, one side had no structure and the other had so much that it was comparable to the floor. I requested an easier to access room due to my disability (stairs are a challenge). I was put on a top floor with a very tight walkway.
- Amy (10/5): Perfect for an overnight while traveling through - Affordable and convenient
- Co_rob (7/5): Good - Price was good. No ability to easily get extra coffee.
Bed was too firm and hot.
- Tricia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Twila (6/5): Upgrade beds and I’d love to come.ack - Beautiful location
Enjoyed the quietness of the place Beds were not the best
- Dan (9/5): Great stay at a wonderful property! - Beautiful rooms and helpful, friendly staff. A great stay!
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- James (10/5): Exceptional - Very comfortable NA
- Dustin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marko (10/5): Great place to stay - Everything Nothing
- Brown (7/5): Was ok for an overnight stay before going over the pass. - Clean, quiet and easy to find. Hot tub had to many bubbles. Not maintained enough at the time I was there.
- Hamlin (10/5): Exceptional - Family could all sleep in one unit
- Caitlin (8/5): Very good -
- Laura (9/5): Comfortable, unfussy stay in a beautiful location. - The bed was extremely comfortable, and the entire room was cozy and well-equipped. We appreciated the Roku TV options. The little family-owned business seems located in a beautiful area of the state. This isn't a significant criticism -- just a suggestion: I removed the air freshener from the wall as soon as we entered the room, because the fragrance was simply over-powering. This may be because I have a fairly sensitive nose, so take the criticism with a grain of salt . . . but my suggestion would be to find a less powerful air freshener, and consider going without one entirely.
- William (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sigifredog (7/5): Good - price was right room could have been a bit cleaner
- Emily (10/5): Recouping on a work trip...what a lovely surprise! Couldn't have expected anything better! - What a lovely surprise. My "big thing" is pillows and bed, and I couldn't been more happy and well rested!
- Adam (8/5): Very good -
- Tammy (10/5): Friendly owner and staff. Love the cabins - Nice location and the cabins
- Stephen (8/5): NICE unpretentious spot. - Nice, modest, family place with basic rooms and many facilities (rec room, hot tub, laundry). Boiler went down, but given space heater. A good place with very nice staff!
- Hugo (8/5): Very nice and cozy accommodation - The cabin (number 8) is very cozy and it's clean. Equipment in the kitchen is more than sufficient. The bedroom contains a kingsize bed that is really huge and very comfortable.
The hosts are very kindly and if you need something, it's is done directly. Also useful tips were given for our stay. Furniture like the couch is perhaps a bit old and outdated; should be replaced by another one in my opinion.
- Betty (9/5): We Enjoyed our stay here at Ute Bluff - No breakfast
- David (8/5): Very good - No hot water in bathroom sink
- Steven (5/5): Passable - Bed were very comfortable Toilet didn't flush, shower had no pressure,t.v. had no antenna and Internet not strong enough to stream.
- Elida (9/5): Perfect for the needs of this trip. Shauna, the host is a gem! Kind, friendly and most helpful!!! - The room was clean and comfortable. The hot tub clean and a fine temperature. Parking in front of cabin is always a plus! The location was quiet and ideally located for my needs. Pillows were too hard for me but I carry my own, usually. This time I forgot!
- Kent (8/5): Ive stayed here multiple times and I’ll stay here next time I go to South Fork. - Quiet and close to fishing and town. Grounds need some TLC
- Elizabeth (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shane (10/5): Couldn’t ask for better! - Nice and quiet. Nothing
- Robert (8/5): Very good - The ease of getting in and out with my trailer The dog barking next door
- Natisha (7/5): Good -
- Jesse (10/5): Exceptional - Wonderful friendly staff. Clean. Beautiful views. My love even saw bis first bear.
- Mary (8/5): Very good - Beds were very comfortable
- Bill (8/5): Very good - Location & price
- Cody (10/5): Great time. - Owner and the Manager and Staff were exceptionally nice. Very attentive.
- Jl (5/5): Passable -
- Eric (7/5): It’s was good - Location No air conditioning
- Kennedy (3/5): Uncomfortable - It was easy to find The room wasn’t clean, and my booking showed that there was a balcony amongst other things that were nowhere to be found.
- Lothar (4/5): Photographs don’t tell the true situation. - Extremely noise location Highway 160 30 meters away from the rooms
- Margie (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (9/5): It was a good value place to stay for a short stop over. - Easy to find and get to.
- Robert (9/5): Superb - Perfect place, staff was friendly clean rooms, nice area. Cleanliness
- Melinda (8/5): Very good -
- Sandra (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paul (1/5): Bad -
- Tiffany (7/5): Good - Great location and great staff No air conditioning and room was smaller than pictured
- Amy (7/5): A nice place to stay - Due to an emergency situation, I needed assistance with my reservation. The staff was super responsive and accommodating. Unfortunately the water system went out late evening. Did not come back by the time we left in the morning. It was not anything they did. Just unfortunate.
- Robert (10/5): Stay was excellent! - Rate was excellent and staff was quick to accommodate room! Room looked newly carpeted and was very clean!
- Art (9/5): I would definitely stay there again and probably will whenever I can get to the Southfork area. - The area is magnificent. The lodge fits in the area. Room was nothing fancy but practical and comfortable for the most part. Everything was good.
- Wanda (4/5): Had to use own sheets the first night, because the bed was disgusting - Na Cleanliness of rooms
- Rachelle (5/5): Good location and cute but not the best for comfort if that’s what you’re looking for. - Looked clean and inviting on the outside. The rooms weren’t worth the price in my opinion. Dates and a tad dirty. I don’t mind old, but the carpet had numerous stains as did the chairs and that’s a huge turn off for staying again. Couldn’t get any ac (maybe there isn’t any) and it was 78 - 80 in my room all night even with the fan. It’d be nice if the wifi password was left in the room. I planned ahead and was getting to the location during check in hours but got a call instead about where my key would be and such. This is fine but may be a good time mention the wifi password is on the door of the office. I only saw it upon checking out and it was hard to read-also a place I would not be looking.
- Lori (7/5): Good -
- Lea (8/5): An older lodge that has been well maintained. Plenty of parking and nice staff. - Very clean and plenty of towels for our stay. Comfy beds.
- Caley (8/5): Very good -
- Jaxon (6/5): Good spot overall - Staff and location were great. Property was pretty dated and not the cleanest
