The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintainedâexactly what I needed to rest and recharge. The location is convenient and easy to access, and the overall atmosphere was quiet and relaxing. I also appreciated how smooth and efficient the check-in process was. After a full day on the slopes, it was the perfect place to come back to and unwind. Overall, a great option for anyone looking for a comfortable and affordable place to stay in Smithers. I would definitely stay here again. Honestly, I donât have much negative to say about my stay at the SureStay by Best Western in Smithers. Everything went smoothly from start to finish. The staff was friendly and welcoming, the room was clean and comfortable, and the overall experience met my expectations perfectly. I stayed here while traveling for work, and it was exactly what I needed after long days on the road, a reliable, quiet, and comfortable place to rest. In fact, if I have another contract in the area next year, I will definitely stay here again without hesitation.

Now enduring the costly hassle of exterminating them. Sent an email to corporate best western, they said the hotel will be in touch with us over two weeks ago. Havenât heard a thing since, would not recommend staying here.

- Anna (4/5): Rebrand, same disappointing experience. - Location I recently stayed at this property after it rebranded, and I honestly expected that the name change would come with a noticeable improvement in quality. Unfortunately, that wasnât the case â the experience felt very similar to when it was still known as Capri Motel. While there have clearly been attempts at renovation, like new furniture and a fresh coat of paint, it all feels quite superficial. For example, if you sit on the edge of the bed, the entire mattress lifts with you, which doesnât exactly inspire confidence in comfort or quality. Doors appear to have just been repainted rather than replaced, and in the bathroom you can still see paint marks and streaks, as if the job was rushed and never properly finished or cleaned. Breakfast is, sadly, still just as disappointing as before. The only real highlight is a fancy coffee machine â everything else is very basic and not something I would really consider a proper breakfast.

I wanted a nice little getaway, but came home with a nightmare. Discovered that previous reviewers have left comments about having bedbugs 7 months ago... clearly, the problem is not being dealt with appropriately. When I contacted the hotel to notify them that they were my suspected source of the infestation now in my home, they stated that they knew and confirmed the room numberS (yes plural) and confirmed that they knew about the bedbugs and still let us stay there. They asked me not to write a review :) If you have stayed here, CHECK YOUR STUFF.

Ceiling tiles misaligned in the bathroom, super messy grout and dirty smears in various places, included an obvious ketchup smear that was missed. Bedside table not anchored well enough, it shook anytime something was placed on it. The continental breakfast was meh. Fancy coffee machine to make up for less than stellar fixings. There was a mount for a smoke detector on the wall but no actual smoke detector, save for the super old one that was yellowed and looked partially painted over. I had hopes for a BW property but I was unimpressed.

Our room was spacious, clean, and featured a very comfortable bed and pillows. We especially appreciated the extra floor space for our ski equipment! Additionally, there was ample parking, the staff was friendly, and the washroom was very clean for the price point. A few more hangers and drawers in the room would be a nice addition. While the pancake machine is a great bonus during breakfast hours, it was a bit hit-or-miss during our stay. It was also unfortunate that the gym and sauna were closed for renovations while we were there.

The outside of the door had masking tape on it and the corridors were dusty. Renovations were going on, quietly, near by.

It took the poor front desk clerk almost an HOUR to get me into a room because of the Renoâs and new door locks. He had to try 5 different rooms before he was able to get me one that worked. Then the room I ended up in was one under construction. No garbage cans, strong smell of fresh paintâŠâŠ this was by far the worst experience Iâve had here but it wasnât the clerks fault but the lack of communication between Renoâs and front desk. Iâm disappointed I paid $170 for a 4 hour nap in a room that smelled strongly of paint. No communication was made to us concerning the name change. On arrival it look deserted, and I can see why. The play is a disaster zone at the moment as renovations are taking place. Dust everywhere, building materials left in corridors. The standard of renovations is not that great either - paint marks on windows, worktops not finished. Our room didnât lock when we went out so one of us stayed behind so ruined our plans for the evening. Eventually the manager came to fix the problem, and offered us a new room just across from ours. On inspection it hadnât been cleaned properly so they sorted it out. Im sure when itâs finished and staff receive some training it has the potential to be good but for now just drive by

The drywall dust and wires hanging from the unfinished renovation in the room and the smell...the smell was absolutely horrible. So bad I had a migraine and was vomiting by morning. No sitting area , being a hot day when we visited made us more aware of the fact there was no green space anywhere near, nor shade. the workmen appeared to socialize on the car park!

We were very surprised to find out the entire hotel is in renovation...meaning work tools, and building materials stacked in the hallways, extreme dusty conditions.To be honest, I think this might qualify as a health and safety infraction. đ€ the staff did the best they could under these circumstances, we were given a semi-"new" room. Breakfast was available, but was in a room with laundry machines stacked in, and the coffee machine didn't work because a dishwasher was being installed that day. Also, when I lifted back the bed quilt I noticed that it was a new matress that was simply stacked on a dingy and dirty box spring...the mattress was good, nonetheless, but wasn't very comforting to know. I honestly dont think this hotel should be open to guests until the renovation is completed. I was not comfortable with sleeping by a work container right oitside our window, and behind the hotel all matresses, bed frames, furniture etc. were just piled up like a construction site....also, the Capri hotel sign was completely covered in dark plastic, as though they were closed (which they should be) making it very difficult to find....that's all I have for comments. Booking.com should look into this further.

There is ripped out drywall and old mattresses in the hallways the doors are all off. The room they tried to rent me had a broken shower and towel rack and the carpet was stained and smelled really bad. Thank goodness I didn't prepay. She also said that if I would have called directly she would have only charged $169 plus taxes. I don't think so. Disgusting that they would even try to be open

Nor did she tell us our room had no working phone, wifi, ac, tv, shampoo or coffee but she more then happily took our $145!! She moved us to another room but WE had to make it happen!! Capri is changing to Best Western hopefully they will be more professional in their new company!!
- Terry (4/5): - The toilet paper holder fell off when touched. The towel bar fell off when touched. The coffee maker was missing parts so could not be used to make coffee. The TV did not work as not connected to anything. The continental breakfast had hard boiled eggs at room temperature, not on ice as they should be kept. They people we were traveling with had no pillows in there room. No TV at all in the room. A light hanging by wires. Yes the hotel was under renovation but they should not have been accepting guest as they were clearly not ready to properly have people staying there

Upon arrival, the lady who checked us in, tried to say we didnât have a reservation. I showed her my confirmation number with booking.com which she proceeded to take my payment. Few minutes go by after finding our room, she comes to knock on our door to tell us that we can no longer stay in the room as our booking was cancelled. She wanted my husband and I to leave with our two children, AFTER I had already paid. Her words were âyour booking was cancelled and you can book again but NOT at this hotel as we are fullâ. I asked to speak to her manager and I couldnât even get that. At checkout, no one wanted to come to the front desk and we had to wait at least 15 minutes. I asked for a manager and still wasnât put in touch with one as I wanted a refund. The capri should not be allowing guests to stay or pay full price until the construction is finished. Super dangerous to have nails and everything else laying on every floor of the hotel. Not to mention, the peep hole in the door I had to stuff with toilet paper so people couldnât peep into our room.

- Wayne (6/5): - I suppose itâs not fair for me to give a review, since the hotel was going through a complete remodeling process. The hallways were filled with cabinetry to walk around, and things were a bit cluttered and dirty as a result of the construction process.

When i checked into my room furniture was missing, the walls were half painted, and there were no covers on the oultets. I had no phone, no bedside table, no lamps, no garbage can or recycling. When i asked them to fix the issue i was met with pushback and lack of willingness to help. Through our entire stay the place was naoisy with renovation noise and the halleays were crowded with reno supplies and difficult to walk down.

- Jessica (1/5): Never again will I stay here - The hotel was in the middle of renovations. There was construction material all up and down the hallways. Stains on the carpet. When we went to check into our room they told us it wasnt ready. When we finally entered our room the beds didnt even have fitted sheets on them. Was just very thrown together. The air conditioning unit was brand new but couldn't be used because the cord wouldnt reach. We asked for an extension cord and then found out the plug in was COMPLETELY different then any outlet. So no AC. When we decided to watch TV the whole top of the TV was distorted and not working. The bathroom was relatively clean but there was still plastic wrap on the counters around the faucet that it almost looked like they couldn't remove so just left it. Trying to sleep was a completely different story. People outside drinking and smoking and being loud.

Nope! Brought to a room with a double bed, no tv, just wires hanging, a mini fridge that didn't work, peeling wallpaper. I can't put into words how disgusting this was.

- Irene (6/5): Not as advertised in pictures - They are in the process of renovating but the room we got was not as advertised. I had booked a room with 2 Queen beds and got a room with double beds. No headboard on the beds and walls were stained. The bedding was clean, bathroom sink and toilet were new. Breakfast room was not attended to very often, tables werenât wiped and little or nothing was restocked. Was hard to even find as they have no signs.

- Jay (2/5): Fool me once - We had booked 2 queen beds, upon arrival we went to check in and were told two doubles or come back at 3 and get two queens. So we went back at 3 and were told yes two queens until payment was completed then they said two doubles. So we asked for a refund and was told only 1 night out of two would be refunded. But I wasn't ok with that being lied too twice. Eventually we were given a full refund and then booked a beautiful suite elsewhere.
