• Martin (1/5): Never go back! - It was in a good location for work event. Filthy rooms. Bed bug. Food stains on mirror. No hot water. Stains of who-knows-what all over the walls. Most unsanitary and disgusting place I’ve ever stayed.

• Pagoada (2/5): Very poor - Location Felt run down with holes in the walls, flowing switching from tiles and hardwood floor. Noises from pipes that I could imagine as old drain points. I could hear the conversation and fighting in the room next door.

When I went to check in, they said there was no room, even though I had a confirmed reservation and had already paid. They did not contact me at any time to say my reservation was canceled, and have still not refunded my money. They should not be allowed on any booking site/app.

• Derrick (10/5): The staff at Highland Park Motel made my visit amazing. - The staff at Highland Park Motel were amazing, super friendly, and extremely helpful. Rooms were a little outdated but for the price, the value is exceptional. Would visit again! Graffiti on the mirror and trash can would probably be about it.

• Tina (1/5): The worst motel one can stay at. - Awful! Broken shower, broken AC unit, infested with fleas and cockroaches. AC unit broke and leaked water throughout the room. The bathroom was not in working order.

• Lea (2/5): Very poor - The landlady is very nice. When she saw that we had a lot of luggage, she helped us open the street-facing door to make unloading easier. Unfortunately, we didn't see her the next morning, so we had to carry our luggage to the second-floor parking lot by ourselves. The room was too shabby and had clearly not been maintained for years. Even the paint on the walls was unevenly applied. Although I understand that this is a budget motel, it seems like they have been a bit too casual with upkeep.

• Ryan (2/5): Filthy rooms and uncooperative staff. - There were only 5 cockroaches in my shower rather than 6. The location is convenient for Occidental College. Upon arrival the motel demanded an extra $20 (cash only) even though I booked and paid through booking.com. Room was filthy, graffiti and carvings in bed, holes in sheets, cockroaches everywhere. Also note that booking.com did nothing to resolve the extra $20 charge.

It was filthy, it reeked of cigarette smoke and there were so many seedy characters milling about in front of the check in location. It was more like an apartment building than a hotel. I disliked everything about my experience.

• F7127WUjulianv (2/5): 1000s of ROACHES - I've never given a hotel a one star rating. Right after I checked in, I was walking to my room and two guests who were leaving said to run as there was a roach infestation. They weren't exaggerating, my hotel room was FULL of german roaches! You couldn't even walk into the room without stepping on a baby one. It was like a scene from a horror movie, I can’t even describe. When I say everywhere, I mean everywhere! Like when you step on a pile of ants and they all rush out. Disgusting, there was also old food left on the desk in our room. We booked a new hotel, it was like a nightmare.

• Victoria (2/5): never going back again bad customer service not what I was expecting - it was horrible i had reservations for me and my husband and my husband was meeting meat the hotel after work and the owners said he can’t park his car i the hotels parking lot he had to find parking in street and the room was really far from the parking lot and microwave was so dirty old looking and the had to go walking all thearound the hotel building to get the remote for tv cuz they didn’t give it to me when I checked in tkbegin with I’m so disappointed 😫😠 nothing I didn’t want a smoking room and that what they gave me I the reservation I left with a stomach ache and headache from the cigarette smell

• Dustin (1/5): The 7th circle of Hell - It was the only other place open. The Main Street next to it is a good nightlife and food. A syringe on my bathroom sink, a puddle of water when I first walked in, there was permanent grease handprints on white towels, there was stains of all blankets, the desk, and all the surfaces. Mirror had carved into it. Mold on the top and corner of the restroom. Was non-smoking but smell of cigarettes. Floor was sticky. The window didn’t have a screen. One of the neighbors pooped on the hallway. It was a nightmare.
• Melissa (1/5): They did not honor my reservation and left me scrambling to find a place to stay. - They do not honor reservations. I got there and even though I reserved far ahead they didn't have a room for me. They told me no one checked out so they couldn't accommodate me. There was a large festival and graduation in town so very few places had rooms, I had to find somewhere else to stay and paid WAY more on such short notice. It was a very stressful experience. The whole thing was not handled well and I didn't even get an apology and they didn't response to the request to cancel without being charged, because they "couldn't" do it on their end. Still watching my bank to make sure nothing comes through.
• Jacob (1/5): NEVER AGAIN - NOTHING. this place is horrendous, unless you’re looking for a quick hour in this place I Highly recommend not staying here whatsoever. So dirty and disgusting, from caca roaches to blood splatter on the walls…. They had a piece of plywood under the mattress, why??? Heck if I know, absolute repulsive of an establishment and business. WARNING DO NOT STAY HERE! You will most likely get bed bugs or contract ring worm

• David (3/5): One night only and a little gross! - It was clean but it’s a dump For $95 a night, it could try a little harder. The room has a bed, small tv, fridge, a table, a commode, and 2 chairs That’s it, no decor, no lamp, nothing to enhance the place. It’s sad

• Sandra (1/5): Bad - at night there is a security person It was very dirty, the room was not clean, the bathroom was very dirty, the bed was dirty, the floor was dirty, we had to buy disinfectant to clean the bathroom and disinfect everything, we bought a towel, sheets, blankets and candles. 😕 they could have a housekeeper to clean and they would have better reviews and people happy to come back there!

• Carlo (1/5): Left as early as possible because of the shower, - What breakfast Bed was clean and comfortable There was no hot water in the shower, and when I told the management about it, he just said that he didn't know. I kept the shower running for 20 to 30 minutes, and the water never got hot, When I went to check out at 7 am, at the front desk, no one came to the counter for at least a half hour, even after I rand their counter buzzer, and used my cell phone to try to call the hotel, I got no response. Then when some other guest came in, about 40 minutes later, the front desk person finally came to the counter. They have fundamental problems there, and they don't care to try to fix them, the room was clean and comfortable, there were no microwaves in the room, and though they said that they only had double beds, there was only one bed. I had to go to the gym to take a shower, because the water in the bath was ice cold, even after several minutes

• Richard (1/5): Motel from Hell. - Clean Sheets, and no bugs/lice insects visable. Bathroom sink falling off wall, holes in walls, multiple patched holes in walls not painted, toilet set broken, no toilet paper spindle, faucet in bathroom misdirected spray and no way to adjust, TV remote only worked by standing right next to TV...from bed, no connection, road to motel was closed for repaving, so had to wait till 6PM to check in, even though motel had advanced notice of closure, and could/should have advised of this so could have arranged arrival for 6PM instead of 4PM. Worst experience I've ever had traveling.

Really dirty, outdated, rude staff, sheets where dirty and had holes the head rest had graffiti chairs had spray paint walls where stained restrooms had hairs on the walls it was just terrible ! Couldn’t sleep very noisy just pay extra to get a good sleep not worth it here didn’t even shower cause of how bad it was !

• Andrew (3/5): At least I could sleep. - The location is terrific, great restaurants and an interesting street. The air conditioning worked, which was must during the tail end of the heat wave! The cockroaches and disrepair of the room convinced me to search for bedbugs (I didn't find any). The clerk was not friendly and charged me $10 more than the price at which I booked with no explanation.

• TucsonLocals24 (2/5): If you value your life, don't stay here - Filthy, disgusting, dangerous, there was a flood in our room, roaches on the wall, no fire alarm, and the manager was one of the rudest people I've ever dealt with in "hospitality" . Don't even vaguely consider staying here...run in the other direction. How this hotel has been allowed to operate is beyond me, and the board of health definitely needs to get involved and shut this dangerous place down.
• azbmwcrew (2/5): Worst experience ever - First they gave me a room that had water leaking all over the floor. They then gave me another room that has a air conditioner that would not cool down the room. They eat no toilet paper in the bathroom, and it had feces on the bathroom wall along with graffiti on the wall. I figured I could deal with that until I went to take a shower and discovered there is no hot water available in the motel. This is a rundown motel that is no where near worth the price they charged for for 3 night stay. I highly recommend you find another place to stay as this place is a dump.
• andreajC9742LK (2/5): Unsanitary - The room smelled of body order. I paid for 3 nights, but I couldn't bring myself to sleep there. The owner was rude and he hung up the phone in my face twice. The rate was low but it's not worth the funk and bad attitudes.
• K3300EArachelo (2/5): Cockroaches - There were cockroaches and several other bugs in the room. The room was very dirty and overall scary. However, it worked. I needed a cheap place for the night in that area. If you have other options I wouldn't stay there.
• Q6834UVerikar (2/5): The worst service - I have been here with my two girls I payed 95 for night for 24 and for today and i have been here since Thursday since then they haven't send one for room service its so bad that the only reason am still here is because I don't have car to drive and look for a better one but ones I leave never again
• inakise (2/5): don't - dirty, felt unsafe, uncomfortable. The sheets were dirty, the a. c. didn't work, at the reception were rude. I wouldn't recommend especially for families with children. The room was very old, unwelcoming.
