- William M. (9/5): I had a wonderful stay. I didn't stay long enough. - I didn't eat breakfast there. A 12 noon instead of 11 am checkout time would be much better.
There aren't enough restaurants in New Harmony, IN. :o(
- Sarah (7/5): -
- Short (10/5): -
- Brittney (6/5): -
- Chester (8/5): The stay was peaceful and relaxed. - Very charming atmosphere! The removal of the hot tub was a big blow. We looked forward to a hot soak whenever we came to New Harmony.
- Daniel (10/5): Great as always - Nice to rent a golf cart to drive around
- Tom (10/5): - Went for a wedding. Looking forward to going back and exploring the area. Accommodations were fine for us!!
- Aaron (10/5): - Beautiful and peaceful
- Crystal (10/5): -
- Kevin (10/5): - So glad there's a quality hotel in the heart of historic New Harmony
- Virginia (10/5): - Nice place to stay. We'll be back.
- NADJA (10/5): - The location is perfect
- Robert (10/5): - Great
- Kyle (4/5): - The bathroom was not clean, there were long black hairs on the floor and in the shower. TV did not work. Coffee machine with coffee but no creamers or sugars. Beds uncomfortable and you can feel every spring. Sensors on the pillows? Really can you get anymore cheap? The area around the property is beautiful and close to everything. I really expected more from the New Harmony Inn.
- Michelle (10/5): - Had a awesome time.
- Keith (8/5): Go Visit New Harmony - The hotel is great. Could use a little updating. New Harmony is a very cool town
- Snyder (8/5): Property was beautiful. Attended a wedding on site which was wonderful as well - Very serene beautiful area
- Holly (10/5): Wedding trip - We had a little snafu at check-in but the desk clerk corrected it for us. I think it was a combination of my error and their miscommunication, but as I said upon realizing the messup it was immediately fixed. Staff were great, friendly, helpful and accomodating. The place was scerene, and totally awesome! My only other problem was the beds were very firm making my sleep difficult. Overall we loved the hotel, the town, the history; it all made for a great trip. Not to mention the wedding at the granary was beautiful!
- Brenda (6/5): - Rated all categories in mid range (unable to choose n/a) due to actually not even being able to get to the property due to unforeseen circumstances. I did stay in touch with property throughout the day, letting them know the situation. Attempts were made by the company that reservation booked with in attempt to get refund but unable to do so. Would like to have seen this place and possibly went there for future visits but chances of that happening are slim now. It’s too bad companies don’t have some kind of policy in place for unforeseen circumstances (I didn’t just not show up or not call), so that people can get some kind of refund.
- Linda (9/5): Small Town Inn - The atmosphere was very calming. The town itself was very small, which was nice. It was very close to the Illinois state line, as I needed to go there to check off that state as well as Indiana of my 50 state travels. The restaurant at the inn was closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Since Labor Day was Monday of my visit, all businesses were closed with the exception of an antique store. One of the housekeepers told me of a city 30 miles away. So I was able to have lunch and leftovers for dinner.
- Robert (10/5): -
- Erika (4/5): - Our room had spiders and bug parts on the carpet and tile. We did not shower or walk around without shoes.
- Janice (10/5): A wonderful place to get away! - This was our 2nd visit to the New Harmony Inn, and we loved the solitude of this place! The grounds were well maintained and perfect for strolling and enjoying the lake, stream and area in general. Our room was spot clean and ever so quiet; the bed was extremely comfortable. We rented one of their golf carts and took a drive around the quaint, little town where we visited with several residents, sat by the Wabash River and enjoyed the overall peacefulness and beauty of the place. For one night or several, if one is seeking serenity, this is the place to go!
- Julie (10/5): - There were walking trails to the Wabash River, a wonderful restaurant associated with the inn, I forget the name, and the tranquility of the place. It was wonderful!😊
- Linda (10/5): New Harmony get sway - Enjoyed stay Food very good at Red Geranium property in general needs additional maintenance and spruced up
That said would return .
- Jennifer (10/5): - Walkable Distance to attend my sister-in-law memorial.
- Vickie (10/5): - We always enjoy our visits to The New Harmony Inn and New Harmony in general. The Red Geranium is an excellent restaurant whether you dine inside or on the patio. The staff is friendly and the food delicious. The exterior of The New Harmony Inn needs some maintenance, i.e. some rot to the wood around the windows. However, the interior is in fine shape and was very clean. The bed was comfortable, but the fitted sheet needed to be deeper. It kept coming loose on the head corners. Not a big deal, but worth noting. All in all, a great visit.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Although the heat & humidity were really oppressive, we had a wonderful 2 day visit to New Harmony. The Inn is lovely and the grounds offer so many options for enjoying the outdoors. The Red Geranium restaurant had great selections and the service could not have been better. The room was charming. Nice that they featured local soaps & potpourri. Very walkable little town, cute shops, beautiful gardens, and fascinating history.
- Jeffrey (10/5): - Nice hotel in lovely setting.
- Ann (10/5): - This is a beautiful property- sprawling and beautiful - in a quaint little historic town. We were here the end of July 2025 and had the place to ourselves. Call about the restaurant because it wasn’t open on Tuesday when we checked in and we were counting on it. Nothing in town was open either so we had to drive to Poseyville for dinner. Also, the workout facility is not good and in a windowless basement that feels creepy. If not for that i would have given 5 stars on everything.
- Timothy (9/5): -
- Rich (10/5): - This property is a step back in time. It was very clean and quiet. If you’re looking for new and updated, this may not be your place. But if you’re looking for a clean, safe, and charming place to stay, in a very cool little town, this may be just what you’re looking for.
- Dawn (10/5): Amazing weekend looking forward to doing it again soon - Quiet, beautiful, relaxing Pool was not open
- Verified traveler (8/5): New Harmony Indiana - A wonderful visit and the property is charming and very quiet during our stay. We were challenged by only two minor things at the Inn, the bed was too firm for our taste with very stumpy pillows, and the restaurant on site was not open during our stay Sunday-Tuesday.
In general the town seemed abandoned which was nice in one respect that we could explore freely but we felt like we stumbled into a vacant movie set.
Also, the food options were very narrow with some of those being closed on Sunday so we traveled to Mount Vernon to eat but would have preferred staying in NH.
The Inn was lovely, clean, and we felt safe and cared for but I think we were the only one's there on our entire floor and maybe the building. Dead quiet.
Get to New Harmony people, fill that quaint and historic town up with some energy, it deserves to flourish.
- Robert (10/5): - Every aspect of New Harmony was unique and interesting.
All people were kind and courteous.
Food was excellent and food prices were very reasonable.
- Oceanna (10/5): - Cute little hotel! Rooms are a little dated but very clean, beds are firm. Tv, coffee, mini fridge. The grounds are beautiful. Golf cart rentals are affordable with trails nearby the river. They have a nice outdoor pool but it was closed during our stay. So if the pool is the reason you’re booking check first! We will definitely be back when visiting the area again.
- Wright (9/5): -
- Julie (8/5): -
- Brandon (2/5): Ok room no hot water - The room was nice but the pool was closed and the hot water in the bathroom did not work in the morning could not take shower in morning.
- Gregory (7/5): Good - pool closed during our stay.
- Michael (10/5): - Great place to stay
Very cozy room
Nice and quiet
We rented a golf cart and drove all around town admiring the flowers and beautiful homes
- Gary (10/5): Loving it! - I’ve stayed here a few times over the years. It’s always been great!
- Claire (10/5): - i love that they provide k cups from their local coffee shop. best hotel beds and pillows i’ve ever laid on.
- elizabeth (6/5): - Ghost Town - beautiful setting, clean and comfortable room but no place for dinner on a Monday evening. Every store front on Main Street was closed by 5PM. Ice cream shop sign said open 4-7PM. Old school diner on Main St. was open for breakfast.
Great place to be if you enjoy solitude and quiet walks in a peaceful setting with limited human contact.
- Cassandra (10/5): - New Harmony is interesting
Friendly folks
The Inn has a nice outdoor pool refreshing!
I slept very well, quiet and comfy temperature
- Bernard (3/5): Poor - Nice room Ran out if hit water while taking a shower. Heated pool was ice cold
- Benjamin (6/5): Pleasant -
- Melinda (10/5): Exceptional -
- ELDRIDGE (10/5): - Beautiful and serene
- Stan (10/5): - New Harmony is a delightful oasis in the middle of the Midwest. Enjoyed our stay.
- Emily (10/5): Highly Recommend - The grounds of the inn are beautiful, rooms comfortable and clean, and my daughter loved the pool.
- Janeen (10/5): - Charming site. The backdoor didn't latch (near the parking lot) so it wasn't secure.
- Carlsondavid (4/5): Needs attention and new designs (and a bit of cleaning) - Disappointing. My wife and I had lovely memories of the Inn from some years ago but our return trip was disappointing. The rooms are in dire need of refurbishment and updating. Cleanliness was spotty -- the air vent in the ceiling was so dark and black it drew your eyes to it; the main garbage can for our room was clearly not emptied from the last rental. Comfort was lacking -- our room had a sleeper sofa that was about the most uncomfortable bed I've ever tried to relax in and it appeared to be decades old.
In the quest of a nice room we also selected a room that offered a upper alcove for the bed -- DON'T DO THIS. The staircase to the alcove is a spiral/circle one and while the idea may be quaint, it really is impossible to go up it with anything in your hands primarily because you are holding on for dear life to go up these thin, thin, steps in a tight, tight spiral. And upstairs in the alcove is the bed and two side tables. That's it. No other facilities whatsoever. So, guess what? Got to get up at night and relieve the bladder? Better get very awake to go down and then up those stairs because they are truly perilous even wide awake and the daylight.
We will never go back.
- ajayhawkfan (8/5): Great deal for the price. - I stayed here twice in May. The location is fantastic when visiting the town of New Harmony.
The rooms are well decorated with comfortable beds with nice sheets and towels. My wife made a comment how great the soaps were. Both time the rooms were spotless.
Both time I was in the building furthest east. The building and common areas are showing some wear. Because I had been a few years ago, I knew what to expect. However for the price of a room, it is a deal!
- David (10/5): - Nice clean quiet
- Shelia (6/5): Unhappy by their lack of concern. - I love this place but had to cancel my last night of a 2 night stay. Hotels.com were very eager to help me get a refund for the one night, but New Harmony Inn wouldn't even accept their calls. Michael at New Harmony was very unprofessional and said a housekeeper must have checked us out early, he had no record of it. Even told Hotels.com we stayed both nights. When I called and questioned him, he said he glanced at dates wrong, but was unwilling to contact Hotels.com or accept their calls afterward. He said his supervisor was on vacation and had just left, no one was in charge. Very, very disappointed in their customer service. I hope Rose, the manager will make this right when she returns from vacation and reads this. I even asked for the owners information but Michael said he didn't know, they lived in another state. We could hear Michael and a girl giggling in the background during our 20 minute conversation.
- suebJ5117OD (6/5): Odd place - This is the only hotel in town, I think. It certainly doesn't qualify as a "resort" in my opinion. My room was just average - a little dated. Bathroom was fine. I think I was the only one on the property the first night I stayed. Staff leave at 11 pm, so there is no staff there overnight. I was not comfortable with that. The second night there seemed to be some other guests. It was VERY quiet. So was the whole town. If I ever go back to New Harmony I will look for a B&B.
- Sue (4/5): Very quiet, dated, certainly NOT a "resort." - Convenient location, easy walking to sites of interest. Clean enough. The local coffee pods & local soaps were a nice touch. What staff? Except for the check in people, I saw NO staff. In fact, the first night, I think I was the only person on the property. Staff leave at 11 pm. Traveling solo I would prefer some staff on site all night. Facility very dated & needs updating. Very basic. No where comfortable to sit in the room - just 2 straight backed wooden chairs. I won't go back.
- Ty (8/5): - Overall it was a very nice place we did move rooms because there was a yappy dog so it is pet friendly but we're not pet friendly we have an allergies to dogs so it was nice to move to the other end of the hall. Went there for Easter dinner.
- Katrena (10/5): - Loved staying here, most beautiful, peaceful and comfortable place, would stay here again
- James J (10/5): - What a little gem. I checked in late night as i was just passing through but I'll definitely have to come back for a leisure trip.
- Jill (10/5): - Always a peaceful retreat! perhaps a good thing that the TV didnt work...
- Charles (10/5): natural serenity - rustic, clean & quiet atmosphere to relax
- Mary (9/5): Cute, quiet and clean hotel in a quaint small town. - The rooms were exceptionally clean and the bed was comfy. It wasn't fancy but it met all expectations. The location was convenient to the highway and within walking distance of shops and food/drink. The location seemed safe for parking and walking at night. The front desk was helpful with dinner options and directions. The restaurant was only open until 8 pm and then didn't open for breakfast until 9 am, which was disappointing. Most of the places in town closed by 9 or 10 pm (many earlier than that!) so don't plan to go out later in the evening or your options become very limited or non-existent!
- Rosemary (7/5): Needs updated, water leaks around the windows and elevator had a lot of dirty brass fixtures. - That it was close to our wedding event. The lady bugs were crawling around and had to kill about 6 or more.
- Rosemary (6/5): It was okay, staff is super nice and speak clear English. - Beds comfortable The hotel is divided up into sections. Have to walk outside to get to pool in greenhouse.
- Kim (10/5): - Really cute. Checked in after dark so wont get to enjoy the grounds
- David (10/5): - Love it
- Thomas (8/5): Very good -
- William (10/5): - Beautiful and serene setting!
- Michael (7/5): Good -
- Jamie (6/5): 50/50 - We checked in after 8pm. When we got to our room we noticed mouse droppings on the end table. Upon further inspection, I found mouse droppings and urine all over the shower and sink, and there was a pile of blackbird feathers in the bathroom. We called the front desk and they offered to move us rooms immediately. But I was so tired, I did not care at that point. The next morning, I went to the front desk and they sent someone to clean the room. They called me later and reported that they found more mice evidence and switched us rooms. It looks like the room had been empty for a few days and they did not check it before we checked in. There were no issues with the other room we were moved to. The area around the hotel is beautiful.
- Stephanie (10/5): - Very nice area and place to visit. Clean room quiet relaxing
- Landon (7/5): Pretty good considering, def love the area and history associated with the town. A lot of cool architecture and building - The area is wonderful and full of history Our refrigerator didn’t work and ruined our food we had in there from the first day. The staff replaced the refrigerator immediately after we noticed our groceries were ruined. So it was frustrating to spend $60 and have to dispose of it and rebuy it for the next night. Also the key card system is terrible, it may have been from the cold but every time we got a new card it was a matter of hours before it didn’t work, staff said the phone demagnetized them but I don’t carry a phone and my card didn’t work either.
- Sarah (8/5): Would definitely come again - Beautiful setting, clean rooms The pool needed some TLC
- Paula (10/5): Exceptional - Very nice and a lot like being at home. N/A, liked everything.
- Nancy (8/5): - The stay was fine. Nothing spectacular.
- Filipendulous (10/5): Good Overall Stay; Great handicap accessibility. - The Inn provided a delightful stay. The service was very friendly and accommodating, rooms spacious with fridges and microwaves, and the cost was reasonable.
Special touches included a small Christmas stocking with miniature candy canes and a satchel of local lavender in each room. Locally made soap from New Harmony Soap was provided in the bathrooms.
The beds are firm. While I prefer a foam mattress, one of my party loves hard beds so I did not fault the Inn on this. As the Inn upgrades, I’d love to see them get Smart TVs. Finally, daily housekeeping is by request only.
Handicap accessibility is great here - there are many cute lodging options in the town but for a person in a wheelchair this is the way to go to avoid stairs.
- Linda (10/5): Christmas in Harmony - Weekend trip for Christmas in Harmony with my daughter and Grands. This is the only hotel in town but we love staying here. Comfortable rooms, very clean, and the kiddos love the huge indoor pool. Restaurant right next door for convenient dining and close to Evansville if you want lots of shopping and dining choices.
- KEVIN (8/5): - Relaxing
- Susan (10/5): - Very quiet and serene
- Stephen (10/5): A wonderful retreat, plan to return. - Peaceful, unique, inspiring
- Candy (10/5): Very relaxing quiet town - The property was very nice and relaxing and was able to rent a golf cart and explore the whole town The beds were a little uncomfortable and not having access to a vending machine or anywhere to be able to get something to drink. The town is small so everything closes early
- Ligia (8/5): Very charming old fashioned historic hotel with beautiful buildings and grounds. - They have a really nice restaurant and a big indoor pool. The pool is in a sparate covered building, a very short walk. Both the hotel and restaurant are very popular. It is a popular place for weddings. Room service is upon request. Sometimes the room keys get easily demagnetized.
- John (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jacob (8/5): - Given the location I was pleasantly surprised by the size and quality of the hotel. Not luxurious but adequate. Mattress sagged a little but not too bad.
- Valerie (10/5): - Peaceful stay. Nice town.
- Debra (6/5): - Carpet is so old and some walls look like there is mold on them. Ice machine broken. For an Inn in a historic area it should be in better condition for the room rate. Shower was great.
- E Wayne (4/5): - Things do not work. Ice machine, Coffee maker,
Broken stairs, not handicap accessible.
- Michele (8/5): Very good - The mattress could have been better.
The golf cart could have been in better shape.
The food at the restaurant was not as good as previous trips and cost went up by at least 50%
- Klein (8/5): Beautiful property with a few drawbacks. - The location was exceptional. It was close enough to walk everywhere we wanted to go. The property was beautiful, and the pool was refreshing. The bed was so very hard that we were unable to get more than a few hours of sleep in the time we were there. Additionally, the 2 chairs in the room (1 at a desk and 1 in a corner) were straight backed wooden chairs without even a cushion. I understand the purpose of furnishing the room with Harmonist furniture. However, the room became too uncomfortable to spend time in.. We enjoyed visiting the area, but I should have researched more before planning our trip
- Janice (8/5): Quiet interesting relaxing simple little getaway - Awesome breakfast at The Main Cafe. So many cool things to see. I love that I can walk and ride a bike throughout the whole town. Was not informed that there was a coffee bar available all day. Wish the beds were a bit more comfortable
- Dennis M (10/5): - Great location, nice walking trails on property.
