- Dana (4/5): Gnarly beds and nasty dude in the front. - I did not really like anything about this. This was a shady shady Motel. The guy came out. There were boxes everywhere and he just argued and argued and yelled at me upon arrival giving me a different price than what had been quoted just yelling at me when I was simply just trying to see what the charges were for. I was literally in tears. Then I went into my room and there was hair disgusting pubic hair all over the bed on the pillow. It was so gross changed my room and there was still here, but I didn’t say anything because what was I going to do at that point? This was so disgusting. He threw up because there was so much pubic hair on the bed.

- Rachel (3/5): Never again will I stay here. - No breakfast. Location was near family so okay. Very dirty. Office looked like a storage unit. Guy on duty insisted on showing me how to open the door with a key and walked in. Place looked like it hadn’t been cleaned - it hadn’t. Found hair in the sheets and two toys that fell near the pillows but obvious if anyone had turned over the beds.
- Colleen (10/5): I highly recommend this lovely little motel. The views surrounding the motel are breathtaking. - The room is a nice size, very clean and comfortable. It has everything I need and I'm enjoying my stay. I have no complaints - everything is fine

- Augusto (8/5): -
- don (2/5): Would avoid like the plague and sleep in car instead - Clean bed linens, quiet location, spacious single room, wifi worked, near AT crossing by your own vehicle Surly staff, window unit blew some horrid smell and dust into the room, towels were questionable on cleanliness, floor had two liquid spills on it that we had to clean up, TV tuning was impossible to figure out, very dusty room, small pillows with no extra for those of us
- Bill (9/5): - Good location, convenient to stores and restaurants. Clean well maintained rooms, friendly staff, good price.
4th year staying here, only 6 minute drive from our family picnic.
- Kevin (7/5): - Entrance to the motel parking off busy road is dangerous.
- Dale (10/5): - Nice place Nothing
- Casey (5/5): affordable but marginally clean enough, not enough towels, some stains on pillow cases -
- Colleen (10/5): A lovely quiet country motel surrounded by beautiful mountains. A five star experience. - It is a wonderful, quiet, clean, safe motel surrounded by beautiful mountains and very close to the Appalachian Trail. My room is large and very comfortable with everything I need. There are stores and eateries very close by for anything anyone might need as well as ski resorts. I highly recommend this motel. There is nothing to report. I have been very happy staying at this motel.
- Aaron (8/5): - Light switch at the door didn't work. The towels were small and rough. The bathroom was really cold.
I'm nitpicking. It was a good room.
- Nicole (1/5): - Na Bedbugs
- Colleen (10/5): A motel in a beautiful location - a perfect place for a nice, comfortable stay. - The motel is in a beautiful location surrounded by mountains with breathtaking views. There's plenty of parking and the staff is very kind and accommodating. I can't think of a nicer place to stay. I have a large room with everything I could possibly need for my comfort. Every convenience is just a short distance away. I highly recommend this motel - it's the perfect place to stay. I have no complaints about the motel - I can't think of anything that needs to be changed - It's a very nice, comfortable place to stay and relax.
- Dailey (8/5): - Location, price Abandoned check-in lobby. Very few amenities.

- Virginia (6/5): -
- Sheridan (4/5): - Could be cleaner washcloth was very worn. Was falling apart.
- Sheyla (10/5): - Speedy check-in. Calm and quiet environment. Beautiful views. Heating worked great, bathroom amenities were plentiful. Place was very, very clean. Staff was very kind and accommodating showing us around.
- Crystal (6/5): - My standards were low. Somehow they still missed.
I arrived to checkin and you can’t enter the lobby. It’s unclear if you’re supposed to buzz or pickup the phone (ew) that’s outside, so I did both. Eventually someone came and let me in, and the rate was different from my confirmation. Blank stares from the attendant.
Eventually I pay for the room and he hands me the key. I turn around to go to my room, and the attendant followed me - a solo female traveler - to my room. Proceeds to tell me not to touch the AC. I’m assuming that’s what he said anyway. There seemed to be a language barrier, he pointed to it (from inside my room) and said “75”. So I’m not supposed to touch the thermostat in a room I’m paying for?
In terms of comfort, the bed was the equivalent of a thin foam pad over plywood. I pulled back the covers and see black curly hairs embedded in the stained sheets. Went and got my own bedding from my car because that’s gross and implies they didn’t change the sheets let alone wash them. But I’m already checked in and racing in the morning and don’t have time to figure something else out.
The microwave buttons were covered in greasy fingerprints and the room felt damp to the point I didn’t want to take my socks and shoes off. I passed on the shower. Slept and packed up and out by 5:15AM
Perks - under 15 minutes to my race. Parking a non issue. It had a bed, a working bathroom, and a door with a lock. I guess it had a microwave (I didn’t open it) and a mini-fridge.
- Shiann (2/5): - We had booked this place for 3 nights but ended up only staying one night. The property is dated and I would
- Lyanlex (10/5): - I would stay here again
- Luke Layton (1/5): Deranged guest banging on my room door is "not the front desk's problem" - Long rough driveway to get to motel. Door to lobby is locked and must be open by a doorbell that is not obvious and only officiated by a message scrawled into the wall. No sign, nothing. Room is dirty but manageable. Black mold appears to be growing in the shower. Staff is incredibly rude and could not answer simple questions about parking or rates beyond "look website". I had an issue with another guest banging on there for my room asking how to get into the lobby. He was not well and was clearly in some sort of substance. Another guest was hanging around my vehicle prodding and peering in. The front desk did nothing to alleviate the situation and would not call the police. They said it was not their problem. I called the police myself and turned in my key and went elsewhere for the night. He told me no refund before I left. I didn't fight it, as I felt unsafe.
- Holly (1/5): I’ll never return. - Location is good. It’s also the only motel in the area. BED BUGS! I woke up in the middle of the night to severe itching. The staff didn’t care we had to leave. I saw evidence of bed bug droppings. It was a nightmare.
- Benjamín (7/5): Cumple con su función, calidad precio bastante bien - El lugar está muy bien, las habitaciones amplias y cómodas.
- Keith (4/5): - Do not book this motel! if you did, good luck dealing with the front desk. I called to see if there’s any room availability and I was told check online and hung up on me.
The bed sheets are dirty, and I woke up scratching my whole body, water takes a lot of time before it gets warm. AC turns on/off even if it’s not on auto. I was charged extra even though i booked a 2 beds and it sleeps 4. On top of that, it took me 20 minutes before checking in because there was no one in the front.
- Sarah (10/5): - Very friendly helpful staff. Clean. My kids enjoyed the pool. Plenty of space. Not crowded. Will definitely come back here.
- Lidna (10/5): - Just fine !
- Jamal (10/5): -
- Laura (10/5): - This is a privately owned hotel the manager didn't bother you It was a quiet place very clean however be careful turning into the driveway it's a very sharp turn but overall it was a great stay and a great value
- David (4/5): OK to stay, just beware… - The "manager" is not very friendly. Had a problem with the TV and it seemed very inconvenient for him to fix. He talked loud and was very rude, and still the issue wasn't totally fixed. When asked for an extended checkout, he was very nasty about that as well. And of course I was denied, even after having problems with the room.
- hamish oliver (8/5): -
- David (2/5): - As walking into the room there is a musty odor. Then you realize it is mold. It was coming from the AC system. Had to get allergy medicine for both of us first thing in the morning. Really did not want to spend another night but was sure we wouldn't get a refund. Will never stay there again and do not recommend anyone else to stay there. This is the only reason it was terrible.
- Delgado (1/5): - Location Filthy
- Melissa (7/5): -
- Amit (10/5): Exceptional -
- Daniel (2/5): - Would not let us check into our room and then try to charge us saying we was no shows .they are scammers
- Kristina (4/5): - The view was nice but not many imentities..small...not so clean..staff wasnt too friendly
- Gerry (10/5): Country quiet - This is a very peaceful spot. Everything was clean, comfortable and all I heard at night was crickets. The only negative thing I can think of is the entrance poses a problem both entering and exiting because of very limited visibility. It's not enough to detour me from returning.
- Patricia (8/5): - It was close to a wedding we had to go to.
- Mark (10/5): Restful stay - This was our third stay at the Appalachian Motel since 2019. If we revisit this area we'll continue to stay with this small locally owned establishment. Staff are attentive and very kind. Location is safe, quiet, and restful. Rooms are well maintained, clean, and beds are very comfortable. Conveniently located between Veron Township, NJ and Warwick, NY it offers a wide spectrum of restaurants and shops. I highly recommend this motel for anyone visiting this pastoral area of New England.
- Debbie (9/5): Superb - Bathroom was renovated. Beautiful.
- Tammie (7/5): It was what we needed for one night. - Owner was kind and welcoming. Shower nicely updated and had great pressure! More pillows, please!
- Laura (7/5): Good - Location to my hike. Late check in. Area has local eateries, gas station within a mile. It’s a motel. No great expectations. Place to sleep.
- william (8/5): Good basic place to stay - Old school motel. It was comfortable, had all the basic needs. Lights were not very bright. TV was very good but volume must have been set. I would stay here again.
- Tammie (5/5): It served our purposes but was just ok. - Close to our family event Musty smell, flat pillows, some dirt in shower, needed to be dusted
- Michelle (9/5): Superb -
- Traci (10/5): Exceptional -
- kelvin (4/5): - This motel is overpriced, no value for the money,,, the facility is someone unsafe too many thresholds, I don't think I've ever written that in a review, however the curb from your parking area, is excesively high,, the rooms are at best threadbare,,,,,, the television barely worked,,, most of the lighting did not work,, kind of like camping,, not glamping
- Traci (10/5): Amazing as always! - Great staff, great location, beautiful views of the mountain.
- Nicholas (2/5): Avoid if possible - False advertising. There is no laundry facility. The owner offered to do a load of wash for me at $10 a person. I wasn't allowed to wash my own clothes. The air conditioner was horrible, and struggled to keep up. Horrible night's sleep. Avoid
- Mostafa (10/5): - If you looking for quite and convenient place, its for you
- Simons (1/5): I will never go there again. - Nothing The paint is peeling on the ceiling there was long black hairs on the sink (definitely not ours) had to buy Flipflops to wear in the shower because of the dirt on the shower floor.
- Eileen (10/5): - Such a sweet motel in a beautiful location.
- Matthew (8/5): Very good -
- Laura (10/5): Although it’s a bit run down and a musty smell in the room it was a clean room. Good for my one night stay - Beautiful location Quiet excellent scenery
- Traci (10/5): Vernon Nj - Amazing, super clean and super friendly service! Highly recommend place to stay.
- Traci (10/5): - Always amazing!
- Fred glenn (6/5): - not bad.
- William (4/5): - Always an inconvenience trying to get towels, ice, etc. Office always closed and had ring for someone to get service and never offered to clean rooms over the 3 days. Overall not completely clean.
- G8037DC_ (2/5): The motel knew there would be power outage and they did not tell us!!! - DO NOT STAY HERE! We stayed at this motel 5/23-5/25, and there was a scheduled power outage in the area from 10pm on 5/24 to 10am on 5/25. The businesses and residents around the area knew there would be power outage; however, the motel owner DID NOT inform the guests about the power outage before booking the room, so we suddenly lost the power at night and had no electricity or even the water throughout the night. We could not take a shower, flush the toilet nor brush teeth! We asked for a refund for the night, but all what the owner said was "Oh no, no refund" and hung up the phone! What a scam! DO NOT STAY at this evil motel!
- Nessa (2/5): - The room was dirty , the bed sheets and mattress covers stained and hair on it, and lastly the bathroom sink had hair in it as well. No power after 10pm so I checked out next morning after paying for two nights. Not happy at all. I asked for new bed sheets but it didn’t change the fact that I was still disgusted. I understand it’s a motel but they really need to improve on cleaning.
- Clarena (10/5): Exceptional - Great choice, great service and location.
- Traci (10/5): - Highly recommend! Amazing staff and services!
- Seth (10/5): - Mountain top views, close to town and scenic attractions. And yes, a walk back in time to the 50's 60's set up from childhood vacations.
- Tara (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tara (10/5): Exceptional -
- Karolynne (8/5): - Host was very nice. The room needs a deep clean, but it was still comfortable and we appreciate our stay. We will be back nonetheless. It would be nice to have recycling bins.
- virginiagamer (6/5): Not the Worst, Not the Best - This motel was definitely a mixed bag. Not the worst, but far from the best. On the plus side, it was relatively clean. The owner was friendly and helpful enough, though he had some odd tendencies such as showing you into the room and then setting the temperature for you (at 80 degrees!). The water pressure was okay, and the shower eventually got hot. Several aspects were pretty old-fashioned, with a real room key (only one key for two people), and little soaps and shampoo bottles. I was actually impressed that the bathroom had a fan; you don't see that a lot in hotels. There were two major downsides. First, the shower head was so covered in mold that it actually blocked the water streams and sent it in different directions. Second, the beds were very uncomfortable. I had spent the night before this camping in the woods, and that was more comfortable than these beds were. There was also a distinct lack of pillows, which I thought was odd. Overall, this place was fairly inexpensive, and I guess you get what you pay for. Not sure if I would stay here again or not. I guess it would depend on other options.
- Christal (7/5): If we are in the area we may visit here again. - Located very close to the location we were visiting. External entry and pet friendly. Also within budget. Our family fit comfortably. The beds were excellent!! The driveway in the curve was a little scary. Housekeeping could do a little better job and spend a little more time on detail.
- Glenn (10/5): - It's very quiet and relaxing, and the rooms are clean and spacious
- Verified traveler (6/5): Improvement Needed - The most important thing when staying in a Motel, for me, is cleanliness. You need to fire your cleaners. Nothing is more gross then encountering other peoples hairs. Your rooms need to be thoroughly vacumed and dusted after every stay. ALL SURFACES. While I appreciate that you replaced carpet with hard surface flooring to be more sanitary, the floors need to be mopped after every stay to actually be clean. The bedding and towels need to be replaced when they turn gray and are covered with pills and have stains. We were there for a multi day stay, yet we were provided with only 1 coffee packet, one towel, hand towel, and one face cloth each.
Make your check in better. We arrived at about 3:30 in the afternoon and it felt like breaking into Fort Knox. The door to the office was locked and there was a confusing sign saying "Lift the phone reciever" in addition to another sign saying "Ring the bell". I did both and had no confidence that anyone was coming to check me in.
For over$100 dollars per night - DO BETTER!
- Fleming (7/5): Decent - Great price for a last minute room for a night with late night check in, however the smell of mildew was strong in the room. Beautiful view and friendly owners though.
- Tara (10/5): Exceptional -
- george c (10/5): - Nice little model with beautiful view
- Fred (8/5): Very good -
- Gary (4/5): - Needs a good cleaning.
- emoke (10/5): - Very polite, professional staff 🙂
- Orlando (10/5): A very comfortable motel to rest your head. - The room was more than what I expected. I was very happy. It was very comfortable. The beverage vending machine was out of order.
- Daniel (10/5): - Very clean and quiet typical motel. Lovely staff. Very affordable. Minutes from Mountain Creek resort. Id recommend it to anyone.
- Katie (1/5): Terrible. Don’t waster your money. Sleep in your car. - How close it was to everything. It smelt terrible, the beds were so uncomfortable I think we were better off sleeping in the car. The bathroom sink was only cold water, the ac unit kept cutting off we had to restart it multiple times. The walls were so paper thin we had the pleasure of listening to the neighbor throw up all night.
- Joel (2/5): - Place was unsanitary and the room was freezing
- Jason (8/5): Very good -
- Vadim (10/5): Exceptional -
